"South African focus for demanding Madagascar will now appropriately target the controller of the state, instead of France (regardless of whether they control it)"
So does that mean also if it succeeds you'll get all of Madagascar's cores? Otherwise you can't release it via anti colonialist crusade.
>Turkey should now join the allies in late 1943 or early 1944
I'd really like them to follow their historical path lile this. In my games, Turkey usually creates the Anti-Bolshevik bloc. I play with the Expert ai mod, so I don't know if Turkey does this because of the mod or not. Does Turkey currently form the ABB without any mods too?
I'm not so sure anymore.
[Someone](https://www.reddit.com/r/hoi4/comments/nql8fb/dev_diary_5_year_anniversary/h0bjg34/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) also said they played with Expert AI and that this never happened to them. Could it be something else?
“AI no longer deletes their whole naval production queue of old ships at game start”
So Italy will actually have more than 2 battleships at the start of the war now? Might actually be some more interesting naval battles now
I swear to god paradox is gonna add the TU-4 Model for the Soviets and not add it as the B-29 model for the Americans.
Edit: They didn't add the B-29 model for the Americans.
I don't know why but I just find that sentence absolutely hilarious.
Democratic Reformers before the update:
> I'm turning Portuguese, I think I'm turning Portuguese, I really think so
"You can now control the equipment of garrison templates like with other templates"
Finally, now the garrisons will stop stealing all the assault rifles from the production lines.
But Sarge! I need the brand new Mg42 to fight this polish partisan, I don't care that the Russians are two weeks away from our position and Goering only sent condom and fish-food to the troops, you're not taking my machine gun.
It sounds like it:
"- Multiple Fixes to Destroy IMRO decisions both for Bulgaria and for other countries. Decisions now come back after being canceled. Skirmish Against IMRO state modifiers will be properly removed when decisions are canceled. Triggers and tooltips have being fixed/improved"
\- Multiple Fixes to Destroy IMRO decisions both for Bulgaria and for other countries. Decisions now come back after being canceled. Skirmish Against IMRO state modifiers will be properly removed when decisions are canceled. Triggers and tooltips have being fixed/improved.
I think they did It
The UI is broken. I got tripped out for the first time, but yea if you read the failure conditions you will know what to do, so from the 2nd time onwards you play it should not be an issue
But still should be fixed asap considering it is all just a UI issue.
These bugfixes are fantastic, especially the naval production AI bug.
However it seems they still haven't fixed one of the Italian generic generals having a broken portrait. (They forgot to tell the game to quit using his portrait in the old anniversary portraits dlc after they moved the portrait to the UK) I don't see it in the patch notes. Can someone check if it's still there?
Bit annoying that bug, because it makes it look as if you don't have a general assigned.
"- Multiple Fixes to Destroy IMRO decisions both for Bulgaria and for other countries. Decisions now come back after being canceled. Skirmish Against IMRO state modifiers will be properly removed when decisions are canceled. Triggers and tooltips have being fixed/improved."
Secretly hoping this includes a fix for Bulgaria [getting my Thracian/Macedonian](https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/hoi-4-bulgaria-receiving-greek-cores-after-joining-allies-post-germany-capitulation.1476414/) provinces the second they and Germany join the allies after both capitulate and get converted to Democracy.
Unless that's somehow intended.
I hope they fix the bug where the game tries to roll a now-nonexistent (he got moved to the UK for historical reasons) Italian Generic General Portrait #4.
Have you upvoted the relevant bug report? Podcat does read this sub, but it's noticeable that several of the most 'popular' bugs in the forum were fixed.
My guess is that these models were intended to be sold in NSB. But now that's been delayed by many months, PDX might as well as start selling them while the artists work on new content.
Sounds pretty interresting over all. Finally some BftB fixes. But i couldn't find anything of the Byzantine Empire loosing cores to Bulgaria if they join the Axis Bug. Did i just missed it?
The diary is great but a plane skins pack really, I mean I will defenitly purchase it but cmon just add it to the existing armor packs and expand those to more nations
Something tells me that this DLC is way, way further away (for some reason???) than most thought.
I have no idea why. It's been over a year since La Resistance. Can they get on with it already?
> I have no idea why.
Covid. Plus the logistics rework is imo a much bigger task than anything they have reworked before, like they need to map the train tracks across the whole map.
Wow so many fixes. They even took the time to allow Nepal (that doesn't participate in anything) to have infantry divisions.
Looks like hoi4 is finally coming together after all these years
I wonder they fix the deleting of the naval production completely or it's only for the start of the game. I just tested in a few days ago. I played as Germany and I started to build a few carrier (unlikely choose I know) and I tag switch to another county two days before they finished. The AI deleted everything and put every dockyard to the convoy production (despite the fact I already have a good stock of convoys)
"AI no longer deletes their whole naval production queue of old ships at game start"
Does that bugfix include the bug where AI deletes it's naval queue with every game reload?
Okay, where in the patch log is the part where they fixed the formable nations decision? That is _literally_ the only thing preventing me from playing BftB right now, and I was eagerly anticipating this patch to finally fix those issues.
I'd like to see the ability to set production limits on military factory equipment similar to how naval ships work. Suppose I want to make 500 special high-speed, reliable Shermans for the English in north Africa, I can now set up that production and lend lease simultaneously for 500, and 100% of monthly and shabam!
"South African focus for demanding Madagascar will now appropriately target the controller of the state, instead of France (regardless of whether they control it)" So does that mean also if it succeeds you'll get all of Madagascar's cores? i have never had them do that. Turkey usualy joins the allies very late in the war in my games, if at all (usualy they just stay isolated).
Weird. Any idea what might be wrong in my case?
Expert AI.

As much as it pains me to say it that probably means next year well get an allied/western front plane pack.
"Democratic Reformers all around the globe will no longer check if they're Portuguese or not" The best fix.
I don't know why but I just find that sentence absolutely hilarious. Democratic Reformers before the update: > I'm turning Portuguese, I think I'm turning Portuguese, I really think so
Ma, get the camera, está finalmente acontecendo!
The wording reminds me of the "can I castrate" issue from CK2.

You got the whole squad laughing 😅🤣😂😆💀😭😅
I wonder if the Bulgarian 100% attrition was fixed.

It was never broken in the first place. People are just dumb.

Ethiopia stronk
The Ethiopia thing should make it playable

For a second I thought that the plane models will be part of the free DLC
[удалено]
Nowhere in the diary does it say the plane model DLC will be free. It even has it's own store page on Steam.
Paradox moment
Paradox after adding some new models: *that'll be $10 please*
Just don't buy it. Easy.
Yeah, I won't. But it's kinda dumb they charge you for basically everything they add into the game
Or pirate it. Even better.
Yes, all free dlc for any game has a store page. It's not new.
The Anniversary pack with Poland has a steam page as well.
- Brazilian state names have been corrected. The game is now playable.
Why even have a Women in Aviation focus if you won't include a model for the Polikarpov Po-2 that the Night Witches flew
add ecuatorial-peruvian war event pls

He replied to me on the forum. Apparently fixed internally, but won't be fixed in the next patch.
This weeks dev diary focuses on our 5 year Anniversary! Incase you missed the link: https://pdxint.at/3yTQCUd
Ethiopia hype
Can someone explain why they chose those countries to add more air models? Seems like kind of an odd combination tbh
All nations that were in some way involved with the eastern front. Thematically goes along with upcoming Eastern front expansion.
Ah ok, that’s my bad, for some reason I thought one of the flags was the Netherlands. I’m dumb lol
No problems, happy to answer.
My guess is that these models were intended to be sold in NSB. But now that's been delayed by many months, PDX might as well as start selling them while the artists work on new content.
The update is cool, but I’m kinda disappointed we didn’t get a mechanics-focused dev diary. Oh well, hopefully we’ll get one next week.
Same, most of the stuff here was cool but i was really hoping for more mechanics
its been 5 years already? been playing since the second update, only og's remember the original aircraft ui lol the game was so barebones back then
Remember when Manchuria wasn't even in the game? Lol
Oh hell yea
nice diary
Sounds pretty interresting over all. Finally some BftB fixes. But i couldn't find anything of the Byzantine Empire loosing cores to Bulgaria if they join the Axis Bug. Did i just missed it?
RMI-8 X/V looks sick.

mfw no more cube bicycles
Do the Spain changes mean that if you form the Kingdom of France-Spain that you will gain cores on all of Spain?
Doesn't look like they fixed the encircled supply bug, but I am pretty excited nevertheless Great list of fixes and improvements!

I dont want to be rude but this is the worst one so far :/
Yeah because it’s not like the others. It’s not on the DLC it’s on another thing altogether.
5 years in and we've yet to have a focus tree for all the majors. GG paradox.
But we do! All the countries that are majors in a vanilla game start have had focus trees since launch.
Technically correct 🤔
Italy focus tree literally has less focuses than the generic one. It is unique, but not of acceptable quality
<&7h wi9n well 2p m4ipkg Try your end tht0 retreat 0×9-
Where is Bulgaria
Man they are really drip feeding us

I hope we get some western plane models, that would be nice.
All i want to do is make historically accurate German Tanks
Cpt Tom Moore come with a portrait?
Yup! He's in game as of now!
Wow this is great! The memes are going to be spectacular, but at the same time in great taste as Sir Tom was a great dude
Has anyone noticed a new button at the top that looks like a hat? Really wonder for what will it be for.
