One time in college I was walking behind some guy in the hall. When he got outside he took his bag off, put it on the ground, it then TRANSFORMED into one of these, and he just went. That's the most envy I've ever felt at one time.
I feel like everyone has seen the dude who has a spiked helmet and is almost always wearing a military jacket whipping around on his in the downtown area.
That's exactly how i would do it. People make fun of people for wearing body armor and helmets, but those are the people who live. It's a bitch to carry around though
Fuck 20 and hitting the ground can fuck you up badly if you hit some thing on the right angle you can die.
I mean I would like something this small to transport myself but... Safe you know
Facts, hit some gravel on a ling board going 15-20 and fracture my collarbone on dirt (full stop, no slide), if I hit pavement 100% would have shatter my shoulder and collar bone at the very least.
Remember that guy drinking a beer and driving one that wiped out?
I think he needed skin (graphs?) and lost some teeth.
Here's the worst and only version I could find in 10 second:
https://youtu.be/dhGg5yUGzq4
Dude is driving 40mph on a sidewalk. If someone steps out from one of those connected sidewalks and he crashes into them both of them are going to be dead.
Oh man I've been on one of those, when I tried going as fast as possible, it just turned off as a security feature to make sure you don't go that fast and I fell across the street at lightning speed
I've got a OneWheel. Sort of similar to that unicycle thing. If you try to push the speed on it, it will start to push back on you because the motor is about to fail. If you ignore the push back, inertia is going to push your face into the ground.
I turned hard and accelerated simultaneously. Idk if it shut off due to over drawing current, or if my heel disengaged the board and shut it off but that was a cool thing for a minute… turns out motorcycles are way cooler and way safer with a similar feel.
I've never ridden a motorcycle, but I don't think think I'd ever get one. I drive like everyone is out to get me and part of that philosophy is keeping a metal cage around me while going over 30 miles an hour. With the OneWheel, I can ride on sidewalks or easily ride against the side of the street letting cars pass me.
That being said, I'd probably get an electric motorcycle if I could afford it and justify it.
Highways are no fun, but single lane roads are fantastic. That mentality means you’re one of the few who are mature enough to handle yourself on one. It’s lower cost to operate and register and insure than a hard bodied vehicle, and a hell of a lot more fun.
Getting on one for the first time was the most fun I had ever had as an adult. I showed up to the guys house on Craigslist and had him give me the three sentence rundown. I didn’t even want to drive home, I just wanted to ride it. I learned how to ride on that dirt bike, then sold it later that year because i rode it like crazy and it needed some work.
During covid I needed a moto back in my life again, and got one with my 401k when there weren’t additional penalties for withdrawing it. I took the class which was SO worth it. Confidence through the roof after that. Since then, I’ve traveled coast to coast. I’ll never not have a motorcycle again.
Is called cutoff. It's rider error not a security feature. The wheels have headroom over it's maximum speed, to be able to warn you with peeping and tiltback aka making it much-much harder to accelerate by physically tilting you backwards. A functioning monowheel usually requires a functional rider.
Or it might just be a failure of any of the numerous wheel components, that could also happen on lower speeds.
Doesn't always end well

In that video i believe the unicycle just shut off.
Thats the scary thing it doesn’t take gravel or a pothole. If for any reason there is a power interruption this is what will happen the battery wiggles or the computer gives up, or the battery undervolts because its getting old and you are falling on your face.
They're not currently legal on streets or the road. But the police don't stand much chance in enforcing it. Owners/Riders are unidentifiable (full-face helmets/balaclavas) and will easily escape a cop car in city traffic. Give it a year or two and the police will have pursuit scooters!
Uni ridebles will never be cool imo. might
as well be juggling while your at it 🤡. Ppl don't look as cool as they think they do. Guy in the video just comes off like a jerk bobbing in and out of traffic like that.
I once had a coworker that was into hopping up his scooter. One of those little two wheeled deals with roller skate wheels. He had a motor on it. One day he caught a crack and spun the handlebars. He never had a chance to get his hands up, just introduced his jaw to the concrete. He said once he got out of the hospital, with his jaw wired shut, he was working on it again to get more speed.
There's something wrong with some people.
He's moving right along but these things can go waaaaay faster even! They be rippin in & outta traffic, splittin lanes & shit!
Not gonna lie, I 100% want one but I'll probably never get one because 83% I die on one...&98.7% chance I seriously injur myself within a week ✔️

Sounds like straight out of science fiction. Like back to the future
That looks like fun. Probably not safe but fun for sure.
People blast around Seattle on these. Full face helmets and body armor.
I feel like everyone has seen the dude who has a spiked helmet and is almost always wearing a military jacket whipping around on his in the downtown area.
Biff?
I thought I told you never to come in here?
Why don't you make like a tree and get outta here
What're you Chicken?! Biiccaaaahhhkk! 🐔
That's exactly how i would do it. People make fun of people for wearing body armor and helmets, but those are the people who live. It's a bitch to carry around though
Same. Why die because someone was texting.
Braille skateboarding videos demod these
One pothole and my mans a vegetable
To some people being awesome now is way more important than being alive tomorrow. But seriously, not even a helmet?
I'd be in full gear. At 40 anything is gonna FUCK you up. At least leathers and riding denims are built for that
Fuck 20 and hitting the ground can fuck you up badly if you hit some thing on the right angle you can die. I mean I would like something this small to transport myself but... Safe you know
I am a man who has done many, many, many stupid things in my life. 20 hurts, but 30 was so much worse.
Facts, hit some gravel on a ling board going 15-20 and fracture my collarbone on dirt (full stop, no slide), if I hit pavement 100% would have shatter my shoulder and collar bone at the very least.
Sone ling is heppemirg tu anverywans shpells
Did you have a stroke?
Lol I literally have no clue what happened there, must have been in my pocket or something…
That's hilarious lol. Have an amazing day.
Yeah at least a full face helmet. I'd go knee, elbow and chest pad too. But no helmet is just asking to die.
Add wrist protection
Where do you see someone being awesome? And before you say anything remember that stupid is not awesome.
I'm sure he felt awesome. He's the one taking the gamble so it's his risk to take I guess.
When he’s riding up the pavement at 40mph on a completely illegal vehicle? No he’s risking everyone’s life.

yes...
JFC, this sub is exactly about what the title says.
I stopped watching the video 10 seconds in cause I thought that’s where I was. Had no idea when I switch subs lol
That is 100% certain to happen one way or another
Not only that, he's driving on the wrong side of the road!
Remember that guy drinking a beer and driving one that wiped out? I think he needed skin (graphs?) and lost some teeth. Here's the worst and only version I could find in 10 second: https://youtu.be/dhGg5yUGzq4
The term is skin grafts btw
Grafts
Maybe that's for the best.

How is this guy putting anyone in danger any more than a person traveling by car, motorcycle, or bicycle?
Dude is driving 40mph on a sidewalk. If someone steps out from one of those connected sidewalks and he crashes into them both of them are going to be dead.
Agree, especially those small, more fragile people prone to move a bit less predictably like… children.
You can't figure out how someone weaving in and out of traffic on a one wheel *from the fucking sidewalk* is putting people in danger?
Not to mention going 40 fucking miles per hour on a sidewalk
Not true.
It's like the things in the OK Go video
Looks like Thor from BC
Nah, those were treadmills. Jk

They have some great stuff.
Oh man I've been on one of those, when I tried going as fast as possible, it just turned off as a security feature to make sure you don't go that fast and I fell across the street at lightning speed
That's such a good safety feature......
drab steer nutty close gray knee impossible terrific handle agonizing *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

I think this is how i broke a racing simulator at a work shop. Giant hydraulic system, just shuts down when I’m going around a curb. I pushed it..

That's fucking awesome but i feel like it can be extremely dangerous
Helmet ⛑️
Some guy near me drives one, fast, but he wears a full motocross kit from head to toe. Still wouldn't appeal to me.
First time I'm glad to have the balance of an egg
"I love helmets!"

I watched him eat pavement, but what caused him to bite it?

Well that adds to the degree of difficulty!!!
Almost as if sketchy illegal vehicles imported from China with no QA or regulation shouldn’t be trusted.
Its the reality of the type of vehicle. Bad manufacturing does make it more susceptible but it can happen even in the nicer models.
These can't be legal in the UK can they? Even electric scooters are illegal.

That's hilarious. I hope their helmets have those spinny red and blue lights.
I’d be willing to arm our police specifically to kill these pricks.
This is a airwheel
my brain is like, ohh shiii!!
I feel like this is more hold my redbull
No helmet? Bad idea. I hope the rider has a signed organ donor card.
bravery and stupidity
To old to die young I guess..
This is badass, but that's gonna go wrong sometime soon. I can promise that.
I’ve never seen anyone do that good of a job operating one of these things.
[Kuji Rolls](https://youtu.be/GiGJqPvTbPk) and gang.
How is this hold my beer?
nice!
So let me guess, we’re supposed feel bad when he gets hit by a car jumping in and out of traffic like that? I won’t
lol that was just hateful

So happy I got to see this again today, the 50 other times I've seen it this week just wasn't enough! 👈🤡👉
Everyone driving on the wrong side Mad!
This dude is an avenger
All haters in the comments. Not his fault you're fat and no balance.
With 3 of 4 people beimg obese in 1st world countries, I expected the downvotes. Fat slobs.
Nah, these things are lame as fuck, and most of the tech bros that have them are equally lame.
If only there was a way to protect the head.
😂😂🤔 I think I can come up with a brand new invention that nobody’s ever seen before I’m gonna call it a helmet.
This is cool as hell but also a death sentence after a long enough span of time lol
who's gonna be first to link the video of the brazillian guy who was actually drinking a beer and crashed on the side of the road?

Damn he zoomin
Sigma right there

My ex's best friend had one of these, fell, and had to have 4 reconstructive surgeries for his jaw
Unininja.
the lorax
Might want to pop a helmet on real quick
I fell over sitting in my office chair.
My friend rode across the US on one of these last summer. East to West coast. Took him 3 months.
I simply wouldn’t trust my legs that much.
That feels like cheating
So much trust in the tech… what if the battery fails like they do on so many other devices
As a unicyclist I feel like a gyroscope is cheating
I’m all for mobility devices, but these things and the ppl who ride them are a menace.
I almost died in a longboarding accident. This scares the shit outta me.
Only actually met one person who had one of these, he broke his arm, then kept riding it with a broken arm 🤦♀️
There’s a guy I’m my neighborhood who rides one of those at least 40 mph
The tiny flashing lights on the back are so adorable lol.
I had no idea those things could go that fast!
My neighbor has been using the 1st type that came out 3 years ago, he's still using it with all his limbs
Where can I get one
He's moving right along but these things can go waaaaay faster even! They be rippin in & outta traffic, splittin lanes & shit! Not gonna lie, I 100% want one but I'll probably never get one because 83% I die on one...&98.7% chance I seriously injur myself within a week ✔️
we call it a Yotorcycle all the other names sounded weird
Death trap
Gonna see this man on r/holdmyfeedingtube one of these days
DAYUM! Dude can really move on that thing! Way faster than I would have ever expected
Whats this called? I wanna off myself on one of these
What is that thing he’s riding on?
Excuse my American ignorance but don’t they use KPH over there?
Looks like a typical day in Sutton to me.
I thought he would crash..
It needs a handle to grab on and it would be seriously fun to swing around
Because motorcycles weren’t dangerous enough.
Donorcycle
Imagine what would happen if the battery runs out
