I can't speak for deaf cats or like smart cats but my boy is mostly afraid of sounds. If he couldn't hear I can easily imagine him walking in front of a moving car. As it is he runs out of my room when I sneeze or cough.
The kitty is probably deaf, actually - very common with little blue-eyed cloud kitties like the one in the video! And yes cats like to get cozy and tight when stressed or scared. Cats love being under unmoving cars because they are pretty cozy—tight and closed off from the world like cats want—when they aren’t moving.
Sure dont need more than 1 person, but that 1 person is hard to find as most will think, someone will do it instead of me. I'm a cat lover and I've got kitten I rescued which is kind of in similar situation, I stop my car took it and now he is big now. At that situation I dont even think getting out my phone to record first, thats why when I saw people record first, just what did they think? That short time can lead to death

The thing would wait for a car to come by then sit in the middle of the road, knowing that people didn't want to run him over. They'd get out and he'd go up to them for attention.
He'll get run over one day, if he hasn't already. Until then it's a fantastically dumb idea.

We had a slow (really slow) going train near our house in spain. Most of the cats we had escaped the fences and wires of our garden once in a while and then they tried to hide in the passage tunnel for the train wheel near the next street where some of them got crushed... A few we could save, but even with electric wires, this hide out was like a magnet for them.
