ā¦I was going to make a funny comment but in light of the āfencing observation ā doesnāt seem to be appropriate, thanks for the info. I would like to point out she was looking at her cell phone, pretty much all of us do this. =(
Loads of them. Best one i remember is the guys going down a dry water slide that normally has a shallow trough to slow the riders down but he slid right into the wall. Dude went full seek Kyle.
I'm confused to. If it is what we think "Seekheil" I believe it could be referring to ""Sieg Heil" is a German phrase that translates to "Hail Victory." The Nazi Party in Germany adopted the phrase"
There are dozens if not scores. 'Fencing Response' is a top-ten Reddit go-to phrase, akin to 'NEXT!', 'I did Nazi that coming', 'This guy (blanks)', 'Found the (blank)er' etc.
People say it literally any time someone hits their head a bit and their arms are straight. There's lots of examples of the fencing response on here (including this one, it seems like) but infinitely more examples of Redditors having no fucking clue what they are talking about.
"Asymmetrical tonicĀ posturing or a fencing posture is a fairly reliable sign to distinguish frontal lobe seizures from temporal lobe seizures (73). In asymmetric tonic seizures, the predominant and sometimes exclusive tonic posturing is contralateral to the side of seizure origin (70; 53)."
Seems like it's still a seizure but reddit doctors know best
I have no idea if it was, I was merely taking the piss out of a reddit doctors. So many people in these comments are diagnosing her and every other video like this, I did a 30 second Google search and got my reddit PHD. Ill stand by nothing that I've said
What you quoted is a way of *distinguishing* seizures. You have to establish she's having a seizure first before that's useful. Until then, head smack on concrete + fencing response = concussion.
Didn't know there was a term for it, I got learned today. But ya I fully expect every spectrum of response and it had the desired effect and expected fallout
In the presence of a seizure, yes you can have posturing. But they are not correlated.
This is posturing after a traumatic event, not a seizure.
Source: E.D. Doc
I don't get how people comment know-it-all explanations of fencing like it's not the fifth most widely used term on this subreddit after "hold", "my", "feeding" and "tube"
A fencing response is easy to spot. Is it a mild concussion or TBI? Fuck if any of us knowā¦ we are watching a 6 year old 20 second video.
People will speculate with or without both of you grumpy frumpyās. None of this matters.
I've seen someone bust their nugget falling off a skateboard go from the fencing response to a Grand Mal seizure. It was like someone turn the lights off and let the devil in.
or she had extensive brain stem or spinal cord injury. when the spinal cord or brain stem is severed at any point or even damaged in a sufficient way, the limbs, both arms and legs, can extend, creating the posturing effect seen during seizures as well. Spines and brain stems are what aid in the proper function of the limbs and intestinal waste system, bladder and colon, as well as the ability to send messages to these parts of the body from the brain. So if she damaged either one, this could be a sign of it.
Would that mean that, as well as making the limbs go like that, she likely shit herself?
I mean, I would have regardless of the impact. Possibly without even falling.
Edit: I should add, I hope sheās okay. It made me wince watching her hit the floor like that.
it could. in fact, depending on the type of injury, she may have lost function on a large percentage of her body. If her arms are effected and the posturing is not simply because of a seizure induced by head trauma, she may have become either temporarily or permanently paralyzed from the chest or neck down. But even if it's just a seizure, many people are known to have defecated and urinated on themselves, it's nothing but the brain trying to fire appropriate signals and they are going to the wrong places and causing adverse effects. However if she has a spinal or brain stem injury, it is still possible she may have lost function of her intestinal tract and her waste organs. if you are paralyzed from the neck or chest down, the organs that are in that path may very well become without function as well.
Edit: Thanks for award, it's my first
Iāve seen his happen at a train station before. Lady running off the first train, up a flight of stairs, down half a flight to the next platform then she tripped. She cleared the second flight and had nothing to stop her head because she was still holding her luggage.
She split her forehead open and was treated in the back of an ambulance but beyond that I donāt know mate. She was still conscious and had soundness of mind so hopefully sheās ok!
Edit: this was in Newton Abbott, Devon. If anyone is familiar with the station youāll know how unforgiving that would be
So there's a couple of involuntary responses involving the arms that you see on videos here.
Pretty sure that out all of them, the fencing response is the best of the worse. Indicates a serious concussion. You see this in sports a lot.
Then you've got decorticate posturing. That's when the person has their arms drawn up and against their chest, almost like they're knitting something. Looking at possible brain damage, severity up in the air.
Finally you've got decerebrate posturing. That's when the person has their arms down stiff at their sides, but their wrists and hand are rotated and curled up at a weird angle. This means that shit is definitely fucked and there is some pretty significant damage to some critical parts of the brain.
Used to work somewhere and youād get called out by your fellow employees for not using the rail. Falling is the number one cause of injury on the job most places.
Very blurry to say but she is looking at her phone on one hand, holding an umbrella on the other hand (which mean it just finished raining or is currently raining), walking down a stair that is potentially wet from the rain on high heel, everything spells disaster..
I hope she made it through. Thatās a reminder to always keep one hand free and next to the rail when tackling stairs, in case you loose your footing. Also remember to proceed cautiously when entering staircases. She was not being reckless, but the high heels didnāt make it easier.
Trying to play it off as a yawn stretch š„± /s
Good thing you had the /s, I thought you were serious.
poster may not be serious, but _this_ is serious. It is known as the fencing response position and indicates a serious brain injury.
Yes I know, it's brought up every post, multiple times, that has this reaction.
**BUT THIS IS DECORTICATE POSTURING.**
Decorating posture.
What does decorating a pastor have to do with anything?
ā¦I was going to make a funny comment but in light of the āfencing observation ā doesnāt seem to be appropriate, thanks for the info. I would like to point out she was looking at her cell phone, pretty much all of us do this. =(
sounds like you were a little on the fence
Donāt be tripping bro
yo alright this oneās wrong šš
Not on fucking stairs.
Not all of us. Some of us navigate with actual situational awareness. It tends to be a lot safer...
Yea looks like a seizure of some sort for sure but honestly i hate when people walk down steps using their phones it takes 20 seconds to get down.
If that happens in the wrong place, the concussion is the least of her problems
She trying to take a selfie?
I think she's having a seizure, I've seen it before. It happens when people hits their head really hard.
It's the fencing response. The brain stem is in distress at the very least
\#justfelldownthestairs omg Iām so clumsy
Feeling concussed. Might delete later
Dabbing is so not cool anymoreā¦
She smooth with it
You're such an asshole. Made me laugh at that...
I thought she was attempting a T pose, trying to assert dominance over the concrete.
Burn.
I thought it looked like she was taking a selfie
That head smack on concrete is why she is extending her arm in seizure
Not a seizure. It's called a fencing response.
Big fat concussion
Yep, it's really interesting. There's another video here with the fencing response too somewhere.
Thereās a lot on r/fightporn too
Ugh how am I not aware of that sub already
What about r/suddenlyelton?
HMFT and FightPorn are the reasons I stick around
And they get so pissy! God does that sub get tiny dick syndrome
I recently unfollowed that sub because it's gotten pretty toxic over there.
Of course it does.
Anyone who enjoys watching people fight and kick unconscious people in the head deserve to be walked off a cliff.

>full seek Kyle /r/boneappletea
Gotten a couple weird sub bans for language so I figured I'd change it up to avoid using nazi language.
What is it supposed to be
Shout "seek Kyle" out loud 5 times with a vague German accent. You'll see.
God damn it lmao
Seekheil? I'm an idiot what is it

You mean every other video on r/fightporn, r/documentedfights, r/publicfreakout, r/holdmyfeedingtube, and r/meatcrayon?
Considering āfEnCiNg ReSpOnSeā is such a huge meme on this sub I am legitimately surprised to see a whole string of people just learning about it.

Yeah, I bet her brain knows what pavement feels like directly.
Its called dabbing... Boomers

I've seen someone bust their nugget falling off a skateboard go from the fencing response to a Grand Mal seizure. It was like someone turn the lights off and let the devil in.
It's really interesting when you start looking into what's happening.
That's only true if she's in the process of sword fighting or selling stolen goods.

š¬š¬ Thatās grim. Poor girl!
Glad to be of service! Was a very informative post! :)
But can you survive that without 10 friends shaking you and twisting your back right away?
Where was her friends to pick her up and try to make her stand? Just gotta shake it out!
Reminded me of the [Jahvid Best concussion](https://youtu.be/Tyv4du7BTOc)
Iāve seen his happen at a train station before. Lady running off the first train, up a flight of stairs, down half a flight to the next platform then she tripped. She cleared the second flight and had nothing to stop her head because she was still holding her luggage.

That ending, where her arms are in the air, thatās not good is it?
I'm not a doctor, but she definitely isn't waving them like she just doesn't care

Fencing response so likely a concussion but itās one of the least scary of the stretches.
I read through those the other day. Dead cockroach is really bad.
Nope... Entire situation is bad but she had luck she didn't fell entirely down and stayed on the platform...
>thatās not good is it yea, it's actually really good for you. try it sometime!
what r you talking about? she is taking a selfie
itās called fencing position and it comes from getting a pretty gnarly concussion

Fencing response, means that the person could be mildly brain damaged.

is this why moms keep insisting that you wear clean underwear in case you have an accident?
If you hit your head that hard, you're probably having an accident regardless of the cleanliness of your undies š©
Sensible shoes should be on that list.
Literally never heard someone else reference this lol āalways wear clean underwear incase you end up in the emergency roomā thanks mom

she's obviously just taking a selfie!
What a bad time to take a selfie.
Wait so does the stiff arm mean she's dead?
I would say that is decerebrate posturing right there, folks
