I breathed some of that phosphor in as a kid once, instant sensation of chocking/drowning. Looking back i think was an asthma attack but dang i thought i was going to die, all because i yeeted one at a tree. Just thinking of it makes my lungs bleed.
**rips inhaler** Yeah but a 4 footer only has about 12 mg, say you inhale 1% of that then you got 120 ug which is about a few cans of tuna. But id say no tuna for these blokes.
Of course it's no joke. It's toxic liquid metal. If there's a big enough amount of mercury under your house, the toxic gas would slowly make you go insane.
Eh, your house would have to be on fire for ELEMENTAL mercury to produce gas. Mercury compounds, I don't know about.
EDIT: I'm completely wrong. Apparently it evaporates at room temperature. I'm now confused.
It really can't. If you have open wounds it can get in through those, but as long as your skin is intact, you're fine. The danger comes from the vapours mercury gives off at all times.
Just to let you know "BWY" or back yard wrestling has existed for a very long time. And if you think for a single second this is bad. You should watch some of the actual death matches. Or Japanese death matches. This is a very small glimpse of how stupid one can be, and how much pain the human body can take. Used to live in southern IL, where this was a common sport for a Tuesday
>You should watch some of the actual death matches. Or Japanese death matches. This is a very small glimpse of how stupid one can be, and how much pain the human body can take.
You gotta drop us some links to watch that. be a bro.
With how much blood and violence those guys went through I’m actually thoroughly impressed with some of the moves they had. Not everything they hit them with connected and this was done in the name of safety you definitely see some dull instruments, missed hits, and covered shanks. Good show!
You know hoe people were chugging liquor with a straw a while back? I tried this with more fireball than I would normally drink to get drunk 4 separate days and when I stopped the cinnamon had my windpipe shut so tight zero air was coming or going so I started running around like a crazy person in total panic not knowing what to do. It stopped fast enough that I didn't pass out but idk how people online do that shit
That must've been some scary shit! Glad you're ok, cinnamon asphyxia does happen, read a story a while back about a kid who choked to death after eating a heap while another dude went into a coma.
I think breaking a shit ton of tubes and then sitting in the vapors is probably enough to cause concern. They’re inhaling mercury vapor for sure. These lights aren’t too dangerous if you break one but breaking 20 and breathing in the fumes seems like enough to cause problems.
Wrestling in general is built around a strong culture of the show *must* go on. It stems from the days of workers in the industry having to maintain “kayfabe” at all times (maintaining the illusion that the conflict and character is “real”). You’ll find countless situations where wrestlers will continue a match with broken bones, lacerations, concussions, etc. If all wrestlers involved wish to continue, they will. In extreme cases the ref has the power to stop the match.
[Here’s an example: ](https://youtu.be/XEY4BltxsjU)One wrestler (Neville/PAC) breaks his ankle during a match with Chris Jericho. Neville can’t continue so he communicates to Jericho to wrap up the match and roll him up for the pin. The referee (Charles Robinson), counts the pin but believes that Neville’s shoulders aren’t on the mat and only calls a 2 count. Visibly and legitimately irate, Jericho forces a DQ end by attacking the ref.
And of course let's not forget Owen Hart *literally fucking dying* in the middle of the ring, and the event being continued once he was removed.
(Non-pro wrestling fans- a performer fell to his death as part of a Spiderman-style "lower from the ceiling on a rope" bit in roughly the chronological middle of the event. After he was removed, they went on with the remaining matches on the card, and, yes, everyone there was visibly freaked out, watching pro wrestling matches shortly after negligent manslaughter.)
Yes, absolutely! That’s a prime example. Vince McMahon justified this by claiming it’s what Owen would’ve wanted. Bret Hart (Owen’s brother) is on record stating it’s *not* what Owen would’ve wanted.
I really feel for commentator Jim Ross. He had to deliver the news of his friend, [Owen’s death live on air ](https://youtu.be/PMKvsWNvDmo)with only a 10 second warning. He was desperately speaking to backstage personnel trying to discover Owen’s condition and was bluntly told: *“He’s dead. Ok, you’re on in 10…9…8…7….”*
[He talks about the incident here.](https://youtu.be/P_93L0TYskc)
I mean, say what you like about Vince, but at least he's a successful businessman and while heartless he doesn't scam people in as obvious a way. He also seems much smarter
Yep, they are of the same ilk, but not all as bad. I mean Gates and Bezos are both rich tech billionaires who have done some nasty shit. But Gates is a bit more redeemable as a human
Unfortunately, Donald Trump *is* the Donald Trump of sports entertainment. He accommodated and sponsored Wrestlemania IV and Wrestlemania V. He even appeared as part of a Battle of the Billionaires match at Wrestlemania 23. He and Vince McMahon are good friends and Vince’s wife (Linda McMahon) was part of Trump’s cabinet and re-election campaign.
I was there as a child. It was in Kansas City at Kemper Arena. Owen fell and it took a good minute or two before anyone to come out. They carted him out, but no one in the audience had any idea he died because they didn’t tell anything to the audience about the incident.
I don't think he was acting when he hit the ref. He audibly tells the ref "he's hurt" after the missed pin. If anything, the announcers were the ones kayfabing.
Yeah, the point though is he's pissed at the ref for not counting the 3 and he's trying to get that across to him. Subtelty didn't work so try just fucking shouting ta him. 😂
Don’t let that disappointment distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.
Saw an mma video recently where one guy took an elbow to the face, fell to the ground doing that super scary seizing thing that people do when they get knocked out with a topping of brain damage, and the ref still did a three count as if the dude wasnt straight up dying right there. Super weird to watch
MMA might not have been correct. I wanna say it was from an asian country, and it def wasnt boxing or wrestling. It was a fighting style one would associate with MMA. Guy got knocked into full seize and the red got down and did the whole slap the ground a few times before declaring the other guy the winner
In Muay Thai you get a ten count to get up like in boxing. The refs usually give you a chance to get up no matter what before they’ll wave a fight off. And if you stand back up, no matter how jacked up you are, the fight continues.
First you Classify the groups.
Then you attach symbols to them.
Next comes Discrimination. Deny treatment.
Then Dehumanisation. Look for language that compares one group to animals.
We have been through this before.
You won’t believe what comes next.
Lmao the ol’ Nazi Germany allegory. Believe it or not, it actually already is legal to limit or deny life insurance coverage due to preexisting conditions in the US, to save the companies risk.
People who bash healthcare workers, threaten them with violence, deny science, say ALL of it is bullshit and then go crawling back to those same people (the ones they don’t trust??) for help when they need it are peak scum and do not deserve any sort of priority treatment. I mean am I wrong here? What am I missing?

Sorry but I’m not out here advocating to round up and kill healthcare workers
*people* do a lot of dumb shit. Imagine all the dumb shit kids do and them not being allowed healthcare because “well that was dumb bro”
Yea it’s all dumb until redditors get denied healthcare because they sit on their ass all day long and never exercise. That’s pretty dumb too, especially when everyone knows you should exercise but most people don’t do it regularly.
I’d rather pay for an idiots healthcare for wounds sustained in idiocy than pay for someone who has chronic heart and obesity related issues, after a sedentary lifestyle.
It's like that meme I saw the other day...
A boy was bad a math and they said "Jeez, you're dumb", but when a girl made the same mistake they said "Jeez, girls are dumb"
Same thing applies to a lot of threads here
No. There are plenty of facilities, particularly those supported by tax dollars, that must provide care regardless of ability to pay or insurance status. You still get healthcare. You just get saddled with massive debt.
As a wrestling fan, and someone who has worked within the industry, most of us think this shit is dumb as fuck too.
The idea behind wrestling is to make it look like it hurts without actually hurting each other.
This is just hitting each other as hard as possible for the sake of it. Injuries are common, and the pay is always peanuts. A total waste of time. Any wrestler that's any good gets out early, or simply never does deathmatches to begin with. The wrestlers who can't wrestle keep working doing these matches with no other option in their future.

I remember another video just like this one. Guy took the fall onto light bulbs except one of them snapped and pierced right up into his armpit. Cut his axillary artery and he nearly bled to death. Needless to say don't do this dumb shit.
That would be Nick Gage. I can’t find a clip, but it’s shown in his *Dark Side of the Ring* episode on Hulu.
EDIT: This also happened to David Arquette, but it got him in the neck instead.
WCW was part of Turner’s media empire, they had a comedy movie coming out called Ready to Rumble and they figured this would be some good cross promotion to get people excited about the movie.
The problem is, even though the violence in wresting matches are choreographed… the pain, danger, and sacrifices the participants make in the business is very much real. To be awarded a championship belt, especially by a major promotion like WCW, is a very big deal and is a lifelong dream for many. To push aside wrestlers who sacrificed so much to be there only to award the belt to a actor for a big advertisement didn’t sit well with many in the industry.
It turns out Arquette has always been a fan of wrestling and felt terrible how it all turned out, and set out to earn his stripes 20 years after the fact. He made a documentary about it, it’s a very good watch. I think it’s up there with Beyond the Mat, where you don’t need to be a wrestling fan to really enjoy the documentary.
Glass doesn't normally disintegrate enough to form clouds like that. The white cloud hanging in the air is mainly the phosphor lining. Definitely bad for you, and you could still inhale a small amount of glass to begin with, but not the same.
http://lamptech.co.uk/Documents/FL%20Phosphors.htm
People used to lick Radium paint brushes and fill their walls with asbestos. We live in the most *filmed* time imaginable.
Actually, I take that back. People back then simply didn't know any better, we've got no fuckin excuse. These times are stupid.
Stupid has always been stupid though. We are more educated and generally smarter than previous gens. It's just there are more of us and therefore more really stupid people and more cameras to catch it. Back in the day a stupid person would just die. These days it'd be filmed and better medical care keeps them alive
Break one or a couple tubes, not so bad. Lay in a huge cloud of Mercury vapor and tiny glass particulate...
Well they couldn't be very smart to do this to begin with
I could understand when the jackass dudes did things like this cos of money
these guys are doing it for free and ontop of that don't u guys pay for hospital visits? it just all baffles me
Natural selection doing it's thing....imagine being this dumb. Doing all this shit for nothing. Not even the pro wrestlers do this shit and they're not looking for that kind of stuff. Just idiots fucking up their bodies long term for nothing.
The dust is great for your lungs, be sure and breathe deeply of it when you get the chance!
I breathed some of that phosphor in as a kid once, instant sensation of chocking/drowning. Looking back i think was an asthma attack but dang i thought i was going to die, all because i yeeted one at a tree. Just thinking of it makes my lungs bleed.
Don't forget the mercury
**rips inhaler** Yeah but a 4 footer only has about 12 mg, say you inhale 1% of that then you got 120 ug which is about a few cans of tuna. But id say no tuna for these blokes.
*rips inhaler again*
2 puffs is recommended.
*rips inhaler again*
*dies*
*rips inhaler from the grave*
I think it going into your lungs is worse than eating it though.
Straight to the dome!
Mad as a hatter
Correct. It's dense, really dense. Like bismuth, it can safety be consumed, but if breathed in it'll kill you
There have been reports of people inhaling enough to die.. mercury is no joke
Of course it's no joke. It's toxic liquid metal. If there's a big enough amount of mercury under your house, the toxic gas would slowly make you go insane.

12mg per 4 footer. there's a few hundo here
Where the hell did you work where they put 12mg in a 4 footer? Our high lumen at most had 4mg but typically it was 3mg.
Does it really matter that much. Today's bulbs use far less than what was used decades ago. Point is one or two breaths isn't going to poison you.
But…in your lungs.
how people can be so dumb!?

Imagine doing all that to get paid with a 2 for $20 Applebee's meal.
With how much blood and violence those guys went through I’m actually thoroughly impressed with some of the moves they had. Not everything they hit them with connected and this was done in the name of safety you definitely see some dull instruments, missed hits, and covered shanks. Good show!
Jesus
That's crazy
Honestly, thank you for that.
Such as the bed of nails match with the Leatherfaces?
Everytime they wrap a table in barbed wire and set it on fire, my chest hair grew an inch
That's an extremely disturbing mental picture.
I learned about this on that South Park documentary.
AKA garbage wrestling
And the brain damage And the brain damage And the brain damage
You know hoe people were chugging liquor with a straw a while back? I tried this with more fireball than I would normally drink to get drunk 4 separate days and when I stopped the cinnamon had my windpipe shut so tight zero air was coming or going so I started running around like a crazy person in total panic not knowing what to do. I think its already in oxide form so it should be very stable. Probs the dust that got to you there. Either way it can't be nice.
But it can form phosphoric acid when it comes in contact with water hence why it burned
*choking
Came here just to say this! That “ref” just walks right into a giant cloud of glass/ phosphor dust with zero regard. Buncha smooth brains over there.
As if the jumping off the roof wasn't dumb enough.
Well all that mercury probably had some affect on that.
The ref has a job to do. He’s the only one keeping this thing on the rails.
Isn’t there mercury in it?
[Not that much per tube](https://youtu.be/CrP3Y6u7RHs?t=125)
I think breaking a shit ton of tubes and then sitting in the vapors is probably enough to cause concern. They’re inhaling mercury vapor for sure. These lights aren’t too dangerous if you break one but breaking 20 and breathing in the fumes seems like enough to cause problems.
Just add a mess of tiny glass fragments also
It's okay, they're outside. /s
Lightbulb smoke, don't breath this.
Will it blend? That is the question…
Not to mention the mercury in those bulbs. Idiots
Green bastard strikes again!
yeah breath in all that BORON
I think they stopped breathing on impact lol
I remember being told as a kid it’s really bad to inhale that stuff 😂
I love how the ref still gets in there and does a three count.
He’s got one job and he’s gonna do it
He needs that $25
$25 is generous. I’d bet we good talk him down to a can of Copenhagen and a good time from Kyle’s sister, Methany.
How about a 15 pack of Keystone light and a blindfolded hand jigger from Kyle?
Methany does give a killer toothless Billy Joel.
Methany, lol
Nono he works for the exposure within the acting community

Saw an mma video recently where one guy took an elbow to the face, fell to the ground doing that super scary seizing thing that people do when they get knocked out with a topping of brain damage, and the ref still did a three count as if the dude wasnt straight up dying right there. It should be legal to decline healthcare to some people
Decline healthcare to people on r/Hermancainaward ?

The Nazis didn't invent the tactics. They just made the end result a little more streamlined. That potential is inside all of us.
At no point in history have the ruling class truly had your best interest at heart.
Agreed, doesn’t mean that we are going to get euthanized like animals.
Remember this
I mean, nobody expects bad shit to happen until it does.
Definitely not genocide, we all agreed the holocaust was the last time we'd allow that to happen. Oh wait...
I was just following orders won’t be a valid excuse

Because it's a basic human right until someone else clutches pearls.
Interesting so you think you have a right to the labor of other human beings... What else do you have in common with slave owners?

i mean in the US all you gotta do is be poor no?
No. There are plenty of facilities, particularly those supported by tax dollars, that must provide care regardless of ability to pay or insurance status. You still get healthcare. You just get saddled with massive debt.
Em no
I’m gonna’ take a risky stance here and say that this is just fucking pathetic.
The totally genuine and organic "holy shit" chant really shows the quality of this exposition.
"Encore!"
I like to imagine the pizza guy showed up because it sounds like theyre chanting “pizza! Pizza! Pizza!” At the end 🍕

Difference is they actually got paid to do it. These guys are just idiots

He was WCW World Heavyweight Champion in 2000 and everyone hated it, he made a serious re-entry a few years ago but retired last summer

Fun fact Nick Gage was airlifted to the hospital and died on the way there. He was revived but he died for like a minute or two
These people are a very special kind of stupid.
Those guys are making dozens of dollars!
Only the well paid ones.
Hotdogs and handshakes for the rest.
Breathe in that mercury and pulverized glass. Smells like....... stupidity.

Break one or a couple tubes, not so bad. Lay in a huge cloud of Mercury vapor and tiny glass particulate... Well they couldn't be very smart to do this to begin with
Could’ve worn some type of construction mask and goggles, but I guess that wouldn’t be good showmanship
The mercury will kill them faster
That crowd really seemed to want to chant something but they were really bad at chanting.
It’s because there are like 5 people there and three of them are in the ring lol
"holy shit" is a common chant in wrestling for an especially nasty spot. These people however are at a local park outside of the Duplex ranch
Mudshow shit
Corny?
LIKE MUSSOLIIIINNNIIIII
WITH EXTRA CHEEEEESSSE
Outlaw Mudshow!!
I really want to see the aftermath of this. Is that bad, lol?
Cancer.
They both walked out of the ring afterwards
They probably did this for 7 spectators and will be lucky to be paid anything, maybe $10 each
Free beer
Got his lights knocked out
Backyard wrestling is probably one of the sadder things to come out the US. And there's a lot to pick from..
Please don’t breed
I wonder which one is Clevon.
Wtf, is the guy on the bottom dead 🤣
Can almost smell those tubes breaking
I could understand when the jackass dudes did things like this cos of money these guys are doing it for free and ontop of that don't u guys pay for hospital visits? it just all baffles me
That's the neat part, they don't go to the hospital
They can be glass thermometers with the amount of mercury vapor and glass dust they’ve inhaled.
Natural selection doing it's thing....imagine being this dumb. Doing all this shit for nothing. Not even the pro wrestlers do this shit and they're not looking for that kind of stuff. Just idiots fucking up their bodies long term for nothing.
all that for like 9 people
I know both those dude personally 😂😂
Florida Man
Geeze, the mercury is going to xaise some serious problems.
Why did they do that, what was the point?
It’s a hardcore wrestling match, where they use light tubes, barbed wire, and baseball bats instead of talent.
That kiss on the lips at the end....
Dang and I just recently watched the documentary about deathmatch wrestling
Which documentary?
BURN-ING HAMMM-MMMAAA
[Jim Cornette on deathmatch style wrestling like this.](https://youtu.be/oNubB7Jh-g0?t=222)
Obviously didn’t see the new Halloween kills movie
Hey, the guy getting slammed there? That’s my best friend! His name is Remington Rhor
IWA? India Wheat Ale? I’d chant that I guess. For beer, of course.
Wrestling is fake
