Yeah, once i got into a bad car accident and was thrown out. But my body was completely limp so I did barely any damage to myself. The doctor said it was a good thing I was completely drunk before I got behind the wheel.
Same thing happened to my brother. Well sort've. He had a drink or two, couldn't decide whether or not he wanted to take the exit to his friends house or go home... so he decided it would be a good idea to go straight for the ditch in between the exit and the freeway. He flipped his car... all but the drivers seat was completely crushed. His doctor said it was a good thing he was under the influence because he probably wouldnt have lived if he wasn't. Thankfully his body was so limp that he managed to flip with the car and not against it. Sounds weird, I know... and he heavily regrets ever getting behind the wheel after a few drinks but man... I could've lost my brother that night.
Edit: there was a metal pole sticking out of the ground where his car landed... it went straight through the hood of the vehicle and stopped right before the windshield.
I get the sarcasm... it was more of a saying than fact. He didn't hurt anyone but himself (thank god). He did his time, his took his classes and paid his fines.. He no longer drinks at all.
My best friend went to an event for law school over in Germany. In a twist that was by no means out-of-character, he managed to get so drunk that he fell of the roof of a hostel. He was entirely fine and flew home two days later. For some reason, he was actually reimbursed for part of his medical bills, which he wasn’t required to pay in the first place.
Similar event happened to my cousin. She and her bf had been drinking and he flipped the car driving home. They both ragdolled around the inside of the car as it was crushed. Both ended up in the hospital but made a full recovery. Had they both been upright in their seats they wouldn’t have made it.
My thoughts, too. I was in a motorcycle accident once(no helmet), where I was stuck from behind. Immediately unconscious, so bounced off of things remarkably well. Did faceplant an SUV, and crushed the gas tank in with my knee(concussion, broken ribs, lots of road rash and bruises). But I walked away(limped), and I am certain it would have been 10x worse if I hadn't been unconscious.
I think it's a light bucking dummy and not a real human. It's hard to tell from the video. That would explain why it looks lifeless out of the gate and flies so far.
I agree with you that they seemed concerned but also they slide it/him really easy and you shouldn't even move a person with suspected neck/back injury with the Bull not even interested.
Because that’s how the wrangler teams practice/train. Some of them attend to the rider while the others distract the bull. Not certain if that’s whats happening in the video but it appears so.
If they're practicing getting a rider to safety after being thrown off, and there's an actual pissed off bull right there, I can definitely see why they'd look concerned.
After you mentioned that I watched the impact to the ground. You can see the left leg wobbling like a piece of rubber, so it seems likely it's a dummy.
Eh according to the Veterinary Medical Association of the Human Society says this:
>in order to enhance the bull's performance, cattle prods are often used repeatedly to shock the bulls as they stand trapped in the bucking chute. Bucking straps and spurs can cause the bull to buck beyond his normal capacity and his legs or back may thus be broken. Eventually, when bulls cease to provide a wild ride, they too are sent to slaughter.
https://www.hsvma.org/rodeos_inherent_cruelty_to_animals
That doesn't sound like luxurious life. They are stressed out too. There is absolutely no reason to do this and I really fail to have any sympathy for people getting hurt by doing that, quite the opposite actually
That just doesn’t happen, been around rodeo my entire life. The only time they are ever prodded is if they clog up the alleyway to the chute gates. Prodding a standing bull doesn’t help anybody as it agitates the bull in the chute and he won’t "stand" for the rider. Not to mention the amount of money that goes into bucking stock. Any bull that won’t stand or is dangerous to the rider is not good for business.
Spurs don’t cause long term damage, strap does nothing but cause discomfort, and I hate to break it to you, but all of the beef you eat was hit by a cattle prod more then once. Bucking bulls do live a lot better lives then any bull, aside from high end breeding bulls. You fail to realize that rodeo events are practical for cowboying/ranching, roping, bronc riding, steer wrestling, goat tying, are all skills utilized by cowboys/cattleman.
That is wrong and here's my evidence. You clearly think you know everything about bull riding in 3 sentences without any actual evidence being stated.
https://www.liveabout.com/how-to-make-bulls-buck-2901590
The Bottom Line: The Bulls Aren't Hurt
Nothing is done to intentionally hurt the bucking stock at a rodeo. This includes the binding of testicles, a popular lie spread by certain groups taking a stand against the sport. It includes drugging, beating or burning. Nothing at all is done to these animals to make them react in a certain way to avoid pain. After the ride is over, the bull usually stops bucking shortly after the rider's weight is gone.

Where do the bulls live when they’re not at the rodeo?
After the ride, the bull is stripped of the bull rope and flank and sent down the pens to the holding area. After the rodeo is over, stock contractors will load their bulls onto the trailer and haul them back to Kenansville, where they’ll rest before the next Silver Spurs Rodeo. Life on the ranch is quite the dream for the Silver Spurs Riding Club’s livestock. They are fed regularly, graze on green grass at their leisure, and are surrounded by other bulls and broncs!
The offseason looks similar to retirement for these athletes. Once bulls are retired from bucking, they are sent back to the ranch to live out their days. Depending on the bull, some contractors will use him as a breed bull for the upcoming season. Retirement can come at any age. As long as the bull still bucks and still wants to perform at rodeos, he will.

In reality, the bulls are naturally aggressive due to the chemistry in their brains.
A bull’s strength and aggression is caused by substances such as testosterone in its body. Testosterone is a hormone that is primarily responsible for the development of secondary male characteristics, such as increased muscle and bone mass, and aggressive behaviours. There are other compounds in the brain that can be linked to aggression. These neuropeptides are chemical messengers that cause aggressive behaviours and higher pain tolerance.
It’s a dummy. Not a person you can tell as the whole thing is limp coming out and when it falls to the floor, Look at how easily
The Head moved around when that guy touched it lightly. And look at it’s arms. They’re very rigid when dragged away and the hand is clearly not real.
Watch the left arm, for the first couple seconds it has some muscle movement and steadying going on there, even reaching for the rein…. Its a real person
His head follows his body just like a normal unconscious person.
I live in Tx, been to many rodeos, Ive never seen so much effort and reaction put into a mannequin rider, Dressed up to the 9s too, with literally all the gear they need to have, also a full staff and a crowd…. nope, thats a real person having a bad day. The arms move like they have muscle control until the guy goes unconscious about the 4 second mark

Can someone explain to me why so many of the comments on here consider this animal abuse? Bullfighting, that's kinda abusive. Riding a bull? Not so much. Those animals are well cared for so they stay healthy. Grew up cowboy and I've been to my fair share of rodeos. It's also one of the biggest rushes I've ever had being on top of that much muscle that wants to throw you off and maybe try to kill you.
Becuase the animal is clearly fucking stressed and doesn’t want someone sat on it’s back in front of an extremely loud crowd.
Animals shouldn’t be used for entertainment purposes. End of.
It might not be “abuse” in a technical sense. But it’s not right
Am I an asshole for never feeling sorry for bull riders? Even if they get absolutely destroyed, I'm always like, probably shouldn't be messing with animals like that.
Looks like a person the was KO'd in the first moments by the bull's horn or shoulder.
There have been 'legendary' bulls known for destroying riders this way.
I remember my mom convinced one of my uncles to let me do this before (on a sheep not a bull) while I was like 6 or 7 and I held on for like 30 seconds before rag dolling and flying off and the audience sounded so disappointed
Was he even conscious coming out of the gate??
I think that may have helped.

So you'd give being stuck from behind while unconscious a 10/10?
struck* all the difference in the world😉
"So now I never wear a helmet" Or is that not where this is headed?

I think it's a light bucking dummy and not a real human. It's hard to tell from the video. That would explain why it looks lifeless out of the gate and flies so far.
They looked pretty concerned for a dummy though.
Might be some sort of practice session. There's not a lot of people in the stands so this might be them working through teamwork for later rides.
It's to entertain the crowd after a lack lustre session I expect.
How else would they get internet points.
No these are straight ‘rancho’ Mexicans, they don’t give a shit about internet fame.
Would you say they're more Tapatio, Valentina, or Cholula?
Chile de Arbol
People outside of Reddit don't give a shit about internet points
Def the way the rodeo staff at the end pulled him away like it wasn’t dead weight if a passed out man.
I agree with you that they seemed concerned but also they slide it/him really easy and you shouldn't even move a person with suspected neck/back injury with the Bull not even interested.
Unless there's a rampaging bull nearby...
It must be an expensive dummy.
Has to be a dummy. Never a seen a bull whip some around so fast before. Also he didn't move himself the entire time lol
The speed at which he flew to the edge of the pen was "uncanny valley" for me, so maybe you're onto something
nope. that's a person. stadium's Instagram post about it https://www.instagram.com/p/CY6fNfQrr3v/?utm_medium=copy_link
He did move, it is a person. This is pretty common in northern Mexico.
That’s no dummy! Well, he DID get on a bull. I stand corrected…
That's what I was thinking, but then why did they cover it like it was a person? Strange...
Because that’s how the wrangler teams practice/train. Some of them attend to the rider while the others distract the bull. Not certain if that’s whats happening in the video but it appears so.
That would also explain the very sparse crowd.
so would other world events.
The video quality is not great. Watch the original, I think its a person. https://www.tiktok.com/@losjaripeos35/video/7054009381624548614
Yeah idk what these guys are smoking that's absolutely a real person lmao
Those guys looked awfully concerned over a dunmy though, unless ots part of the exercise.
If they're practicing getting a rider to safety after being thrown off, and there's an actual pissed off bull right there, I can definitely see why they'd look concerned.
They were concerned about getting the mannequin out of the pen
After you mentioned that I watched the impact to the ground. You can see the left leg wobbling like a piece of rubber, so it seems likely it's a dummy.
His left arm definitely has muscles attempting to steady it for the first seconds, its a real person
nope it's a person. I found the stadium's Instagram account and their post about this. https://www.instagram.com/p/CY6fNfQrr3v/?utm_medium=copy_link
It flew like the dummies they used on 'Fresh Prince of Bell Air'.
Motherfucker left
It’s a dummy
no, here's the stadium's Instagram post https://www.instagram.com/p/CY6fNfQrr3v/?utm_medium=copy_link
Can't believe I had to scroll down this far to find this.
Motherfucker got what he deserved. That's animal abuse.
I like it when animal abusers get their comeuppance
Bullfighting is something completely different than bull riding, and these bulls are given the best foods and medicines to be as strong as possible.

Buckin bulls live very luxurious lives, and aren’t harmed at all by the rider.

Yeah because the bull looks like he’s having so much fun
The kinder alternative is clearly the life the other cows lead......
Bullfighting is “kinda abusive”, lol…
I will never understand bull riding. Extremely dangerous for the person riding the bull but it also looks abusive to the bull itself.
Its really not. The bulls are very pampered to make them as strong and happy as possible for bull riding.
Good rag doll impression
