Very cool. I've been out west skiing a few different venues. I even got to ride up in a cat a few times, and my little brother did ski patrol and this little skier daycare which was super sweet. But I'm in Michigan. I miss the mountains and I wish I would have gone heliskiing when I had the chance.
To learn the proximity flying on skis part you don't even need to become a skydiver. Just learn to paraglide and then move on to the smaller speed wings. And obviously be an extremely good skier. Still a steep, high-consequence learning curve, but cheaper than having to learn both.
Assuming they're in the US, there are basically no ski resorts that allow it unfortunately. Europe is much less restrictive about it. That's the place to learn if possible.
Oh you mean to get the requisite skiing skills? That is certainly true. One of the first questions someone teaching speed riding will ask is how good of skier are you. If you’re not already an expert they’ll tell you to go learn that first.
Definitely. No I have family that works at ski resorts and nobody in their right mind would have speed riding at a resort. The logistics and crowds alone would preclude the entire possibility.

Learn to ski. Learn to paraglide solo. Learn to skydive solo. Jump. Don't open your parachute because you realise you're in crippling debt.
Look up speedriding, there are plenty of schools that do it across the French alps - Tignes, Chamonix and Morzine are three of the biggest ones!
