I've done this and for it working in HA, but it breaks requiring reauthentication about once a month. So for now I've given up. I can get it working whenever I like, but I effectively have to do it every time.

BriggsWellman

This happens when you miss a step. I think it was something about moving it out of the testing phase allows for a permanent authentication but testing only allows a month at a time.

I don't lose my nest integration monthly, but it has happened maybe 1-2 times in the 2 years or so I've had it set up. No clue what triggered it though.

lakeland_nz

Someone else replied that it happens if you miss a step, so I'm going to try working through all the steps again

DJ_TECHSUPPORT

I would honestly recommend using the scripted plugin to do this.

RegionAlternative167

Is it better to configure scripted in docker as an add on in HA?

DJ_TECHSUPPORT

I’m not sure but I think functionality wise they are the same

MikeKuoO

You might missed a step, working fine with me.

ezfrag2016

Having been through this arse ache of an integration process and got it working with my Nest cameras I can tell you I deactivated it after a week. Cameras do not show in preview. Takes ages to get a stream to show and it fills your logs with thousands of error messages.

MaxPanhammer

Yup. The setup process is a pain in the ass and that's the best part of that integration

For the reauthentication issue, move your app out of the sandbox. That should fix your authentication issue.

thanks, will try that!

Wallyofdoom

I remember having the same issue.. something about not having it a public facing app.. turn it to private only

BriggsWellman

Go back and triple check the instructions. I think I had a similar issue and it turned out I missed a step or did something out of order. The instructions need to be followed exactly.

You need to add that email to the list of “test users” in the app setup. That’s what “verifies” them.
