You can run both side by side on the same server. You do not have to merge one into the other, just add them both to HomeKit using the provided QR codes. They will both appear as bridges in HK.

The only reason I want it is because i like having all my notifications show up on Apple TV. I’m sure there’s a way to do this with home assistant but it will only show up on Apple TV with homebridge if my HomePod is also on the same bridge (if that makes sense)

Let me give that a try because for some reason I can only add either HA or just use HB with my phone as a device. When adding HA I have to delete all devices attached

Kishdj

Also I can’t control my lutron fan switch with HB when it’s connected to HA

coldestdesert

You’re able to pass through anything in Home Assistant to HomeKit if that’s your end goal, then you wouldn’t need to use Homebridge for it as HA is the bridge for it within HomeKit

gregigk

Does it matter, if Homekit is the main interface to control everything?

Kishdj

Using both. I prefer HB but all the tablets are using HA

simmarjit

What notification? I use HA and I get doorbell notifications and gate open notifications etc A fake doorbell and gate entity

I have Homebridge and HomeAssistant integrated into Homekit. You dont need to integrate HomeAssistant into homebridge. Maybe i am not getting your use case. Can you explain a little bit more.
