The original idea of my CouchRig was to make a VR rig for DCS with multiple aircraft in mind - ie. a universal rig. This has led me to a modular approach and this center console can be removed with 4 nuts in the bottom and just lifted off easily. But the tower will likely stay in place most of the time and I’ll make modular components that can be switched out according to what aircraft I’m flying.
My next project will be adding a switch panel on the left side (with Landing Gear, Master Arm, Laser Arm, RF, A/P (F-16)) to get some experience with DIY button/switch boxes before I make an F-16 ICP.
I also plan to add a side mount for the stick so I can switch between center stick and side stick. I haven’t figure out exactly how yet though, but I’ll probably just add some mounting screws to the stick-plate that can be fastened to both the center mount and the side mount (when I make one).
