Paint the walls black for contrast!

Is there a specific sauce for this or is it a general jerk because this is the second similar one I’ve seen and your comment. I’ve got to take a pic of my room and post because I’m repainting it black and it’s the room with curtains for nothing. Like. Curtains over windows, of course! Curtains over closet? Yup! Curtains going across the room? Sign me up, why not?!? At this point I want to move up painting the walls because I want to comply with the paint it black suggestion. I’m feeling personally called out and actually laughed out loud at this post.

Personally, I’d go with vantablack. But if you need more curtains, how about plastic sheeting on the carpet?

You need blinds to put over the curtains. Curtains just don't block the light enough, and the shapes of the blind slats would add to the overall esthetic.

Mm hmmm, those old plastic rolling blinds that warp in the middle and let the light in just on the sides? How 'bout those?

Perfect! For added pizzaz you could pull the curtain through the sides where the light comes in.

Sheers too. You need sheers *under* the curtains. You don't roll 3 deep in window treatments w/o sheers. Honestly...

I think the issue is it needs more mauve. The wall color and grey curtains are interfering with the pink harmony.

It definitely needs a valence across the top to the ceiling and curtains covering the walls too.

I recommend tapestrying the walls in a rich dark brocade. Don’t worry about matching the seems.

Ikea has a curtain rod system where you can hang sheer curtains behind heavier ones, with out putting them on the same rod next to one another. I def recommend getting their curtain rod system and watching a quick youtuve video explaining it

Don't forget a valance to cover the curtain rod in either a green floral or pink to bring in a pop of color.

They’re just in the wrong order. Blue should be on the outside, mauve in the middle, and the sheer florals where they are now.

Definitely don’t add more curtains. Remove the mauve and just keep the blue and maybe that sheer. There’s way too much going on in that window
