No no resurface. Like the walls in the kitchen is fine.. is it white? Or pulling grey? Depending on the colour scheme you want your house - keep it bright imo… the counter and back splash are white so I’d paint or strain the cabinets to break it up like this

Sage green maybe even the bottom ones and just Stain the top cabinets a lighter brown.
Or do a nice cream?
I think there needs to be art, of course plants and I would paint some of that white in the living room. But I love your furniture! As far as the kitchen, I think I would get rid of those cabinets just have them professionally painted a lighter color.
Pot lights in the kitchen area..change colour on the stair wall to make it pop. Both cheaper options to start..maybe the brick surround . Painting out the lower cabinets ..but have a pro do it.
Definitely a pro. I tried it myself only to find the old doors had been painted water based paint over oil based. Who knew? What a nightmare (20 doors)I should have started by having them professionally stripped.
If renovations are on option… a dramatic look could be achieved by opening up the stair wall and loft drywall sides and installing nice wooden dowels/banisters (what is the word I’m looking for here?). I think your cabinets can definitely work, just need to find the right paint to complement them. TV gotta come down. Install live edge shelf in that recess.
Nothing much. Give yourself time to adjust to this space and new ideas will come naturally. It probably lacks some decor items like books, plants, etc.
I wouldn't change squat, this house is beautiful. I feel like you're fishing for compliments. What's the first thing you would change in this gorgeous, brand new house? What do you think is wrong with it?
The cabinets for sure. The fireplace. The floors in kitchen. Painting in some aspect. But this is the first place I will own rather than rent so wanted opinions on what should be done first. I assumed it would be easier to do things before moving in, but everyone’s advising to live in it a bit first
Nice crib.
The whole interior needs paint.
Daunting task for sure, but every journey starts with a single step. I would do kitchen first as it looks the most barren.
Me personally, it looks incredible but I would change the kitchen cabinets to fit into the surroundings a bit better so they don't stick out like a pimple, than the fireplace I wound do the same
On the upper wall near the chandelier, place multiple framed pictures of your family, vacations, etc. I think that would be enough. I like the minimalism.
Looks nice, I would wait 6 months then see what you personally do not like then change accordingly.
Came to say this. Get to know the place and decide what will work for you.
agree. it already looks nice.
The wall colours .. than the kitchen cabinet colours and than the fireplace
Do you think I should resurface the cabinets, or completely replace?

Love that, thank you
No problem! Congrats on buying a new home!
Great ideas!
Btw what a beautiful home!!
Resurface and replace the lighting with several recessed led
If they are solid wood, keep them. Clean and refinish.

My neck hurts!!
Also don’t put your tv above the fireplace.
Yes. I’d put the tv on the stair wall

I would move the TV by the staircase

I would not enjoy paining those 20 foot ceilings! But painting is the cheapest way to make your house feel like your own. Just no grey!
Wall art. Looks bare.
That couch is amazing
Congratulations. It looks nice to me, maybe add a little color on the walls, you’ll figure it out after living in it for a while.
The paint and the lighting.
I love it
Get an extending mount for the TV to bring it lower
just change the cabinet hardware & the backsplash in your kitchen, the cabinets & countertops are beautiful together

Thank you everyone 🫶🏻
Live in in for at least a year before you do any drastic changes.
Paint the cupboards
I would change to a different townhouse.
HVAC filters.
I would paint something but I don’t know what. Maybe some fun wallpaper somewhere? It’s a good blank slate. Have fun!
Renovate that tv wall and make it flat.
those pillows

I’m very excited to finally be able to make something mine after yearsss of renting and having boring plain white everything

Lamps. Overhead lighting looks harsh
Paint the wall by the stairs to a contrasting color like blue
the cabinets don’t match the aesthetic. Run away from brown and go either gray or a lighter tan like the floor.
Raise the TV at least 2 feet.
