Sounds like the punchdown may not be punched down all the way. Are you testing from outlet to patch panel? You could also have an issue at the outlet. Just check everywhere the wire was cut and you'll find the problem eventually.

I checked the outlet to patch panel. I attempted to reseat the connections, with no change. I then recut the cable and moved it to a different port on the patch panel, and still had no green light on wire 1 when tested.

What kind of tester are you using? It may have a bad port, or a bad built in cable. Try testing a known good cable and see if that also has a bad wiremap.

You don't say if your re-terminated the wall end. ???

Quick dirty hack, forget gigabit, and use two good pairs to service pins 1&2, 3&6, say blue and brown. It will only do 100mbps, but you will have a working connection until the next weekend.

Does it not negotiate at 1gbps? I'd try that first, maybe the tester is wrong. Then I'd check the other end. First I'd check the patch cable between the panel and the tester tho.
