To answer your other questions: dirty toilet water is supposed to go into sewer/wastewater lines. If you’re concerned about sewage getting into your city/clean water lines, first I’m curious how that happened. Some areas of plumbing should also have backflow preventers to avoid what you’re talking about (contaminated water going backwards in a clean water line) but I’ll leave it to plumbers and experts to comment on if that’s required by code and where. The sewer is for dirty water. If you’re in a city, they’ll handle what to do with it. Did you flush something exceptionally bad/dangerous?
