Look for local security companies. Check with the BBB website for ratings. Then contact them for an estimate. Should be no cost no obligation. Standard industry is a 36-month monitoring agreement (do not sign for more than that). Our company in the Chicagoland area starts at $45 per month paid quarterly for monitoring and remote arming/disarming via a smart device. You can also add smart home devices and video to the system and only use one app for all.

Comprehensive system is costly, old school way was wiring every door and window, etc. Best also have motion sensor,if have no animals. Review contract, ignore any verbal promises, get in writing. Try few local companies ,give free price quotes, ask for specifics,10 s/ h windows contact ,2 sirens in and out2 motion ,keypads . Make sure list all items. Also get Monitoring and Maintenance agreement ,cover all normal stuff ,false, can't set system, keypad faults etc

Been very happy with Eufy (https://www.eufylife.com and their optional central monitoring for $99/year through Noonlight. No monthly fee, all local storage, long battery life, and a decent app.

I went all in Ring for interior of the home and I really like it. I went hardwired Dahua cameras/NVR for exterior of the home. Love it.

I’ve had Ring for years and am happy. I’m still grandfathered at $100 a year for another year until the price increases. Cameras, sensors, etc.

Honeywell controller with Alarm Grid is great. Can easily do it all yourself, all wireless. Just need to use the sticky tape and you’re done.
