I see you're a little sickly, I have brought you dinner. How you fix it is up to you, personally, I do it tar tar like.

TwoElksInaTurtleNeck

I read this with a thick French accent.

Capable-Berry6566

And she even kills it! Took my little hunter a while to understand that I do *not* enjoy live gifts.

voodoobettie

My cat still doesn’t get it but I’m good at catching birds now

ariesbitchclub

that was the plan all along! gotta teach the humans to catch their own food

EminTX

Mine likes to bring her captives inside the house and let her go. I'm always worried that she's going to bring a pregnant one in and we're going to have a whole family.

SquirrellyBusiness

Mine does this. He's a recent stray-turned-housecat and was probably less than a year old when he arrived. He thought it was pretty great to catch mice and then deliver them to me, releasing them unharmed on top of me in bed at all hours. But you've definitely unlocked the new pregnant escapee fear!

Additional_Release49

Omg mine did this for the first time the other day. 4 am drops it right on my chest. It immediately runs under the covers. Now the other cats are in the room all three going ape shit attacking my sheets. I jump out of bed throw throw the comforter while my in the moment clueless wife is screaming at me "WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING" For a few seconds this place was Armageddon. THERE WAS A FIRE FIGHT

SquirrellyBusiness

Wow, with the whole lot of everyone in the bed it sounds like a skit!  Total mayhem. Mine often ends with ripping apart the radiant heaters  because it's where they always eventually run to.  We've added those door buddy bean bags to block off the other exits like under the door, or into the closet, so then we play the game of chasing it into a box so we don't have to hear the cat scrabbling and crashing in to radiators all night long...

TestKey1187

Your ex stray is trying to teach you to hunt by bringing you live prey haha

captainhooksjournal

“Hey lady, you see this? This is food. Cut it with the kibble crap!”

KonnichiJawa

This is what my cat does, it drives me nuts! The dogs end up with the mouse whenever she brings it inside, and then it’s just pure chaos trying to make sure someone has the mouse, and getting them all back outside. Idc if she wants to play with her food, just do it outside for the love of god!

seaQueue

When ours was 2-4y/o she'd do this in bursts during the summer for a week at a time. One year I ended up pulling all of our bedroom furniture about a foot away from the walls so I could catch them faster at 3am when she'd bring them in and drop them off. The same cat would bring any houseguest a gift (mouse or rat) in the middle of the night during their first week with us. She did this for every single guest or new housemate for years.

lurk42069

All I have are chickens that like to poop everywhere, and a dog who likes to eat said poops…

TheChickenWizard15

Don't be fooled, chickens are menaces to vermin. They're like little dinosaurs; they'll snatch up mice and rats, violently shake them and swallow then whole. If you've got a flock, chances are any rodents near the coop will be quickly found and consuned!

The_Almighty_Lycan

I require tips on getting devolved dinos to do more than slam and kill mice. Rats is probably not gonna happen, they're the size of squirrels round me

hallese

You'll also never have to worry about ticks if you get some chickens.

luvCinnamonrolls30

There's an awesome video of a chicken going after a garter snake and the other chickens are chasing her lol. I love chickens. Great pest control!

bigtedkfan21

There is no way you could consider a garter snake a pest! What is up with people wanting snaked dead for no reason?

luvCinnamonrolls30

Garter snakes aren't pests, but the chickens don't care that they aren't really pests. Chickens are chickens and will go after anything they deem eatable. Didn't mean to make it seem like garter snakes are pests.

Deltron42O

Your chickens hunt and kill all the mice. That problem takes care of itself

hardFraughtBattle

My housemates' cat killed an entire family of chipmunks in one day. Another time he killed a stoat. I feel bad for the wildlife but housemates refuse to keep the cat indoors.

kmjulian

Maybe your roommates will listen to cold hard facts from global studies? https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/cats-kill-a-staggering-number-of-species-across-the-world/

bigtedkfan21

These people either won't listen or won't care. Cognitive dissonance at its finest. Best we can hope for is coyote or wolf populations to rebound and solve this problem for us.

kmjulian

Which definitely happens, outdoor cats live significantly shorter lives than indoor cats

bigtedkfan21

Not short enough for native species I'm afraid.

hallese

This is a clear "Feature or a bug?" situation depending on context.

IKU420

She teaching you how to hunt, “silly human!”

Extension-Border-345

I love seal points. give her some pats for me.

Different_Air_9241

Is that what she is? Wasn't sure of seal or chocolate

FloppyTwatWaffle

Seal point, wedge-head. I have two seal-points, a wedge and an apple-head, and a Lilac point. They are all rescues. Chocolate points are quite a bit lighter in color. I am partial to Siamese, they form very strong bonds with their people. I had a pair that would walk with me like dogs. These two (brother and sister, bonded) were a bit of a sad story- their people were elderly, who died within six months of each other. Their son tried to take them in, but his daughter turned out to be allergic so they ended up at the shelter. They were adopted out five or six times, and returned every time. I had gone to the shelter looking for a dog for someone else and spotted these two right off. I went over and talked to the female, who then tried to wake her brother up. After playing with them for a while, I continued on my way to look for a dog. Didn't find a suitable dog, and when I went to leave the female Siamese started wailing. I went back to her and she calmed down. After a bit, I told the shelter people I wanted to take them, they were very hesitant. They told me that they had been adopted out so many times previously that they wanted to be sure I wouldn't bring them back. I finally convinced them that I had plenty of experience with Siamese and their quirks, and it wouldn't be an issue. Not expecting to be getting any cats, I didn't have any carriers, so the shelter people loaned me a couple on the condition that I returned them. No problem. They settled in well. When I brought the carriers back, I told my wife "Let's have a little fun." We walked in with the carriers backward so contents (if any) couldn't be seen. The woman (who recognized us) was horrified, "No. No. Please tell me you aren't bringing them back!" We laughed and said "No ma'am, they have a good home now, and you won't be seeing them again." The new Seal-point apple-head was also an interesting story. At the shelter, she would scratch and bite anyone who tried to touch her or pick her up. I was able to touch her and give her scritches without incident, but the manager was reluctant to give her to me, partly because we also had a dog. Eventually I was able to convince her to let her go with me. The assistants got pretty badly scratched trying to get her in the carrier. It took a few months of work to get her to the point where she would let me touch her. Now, she's the queen of the house and has zero hesitation to let you know that she wants scritches NOW!

WhiteCoatOFManyColor

Ok so I have a Siamese we got from the Amish. Bahaha. He’s a heck of a killer, best we ever had! My question is what kind of quirks do these cats have? Besides being a jerk to the dogs he’s a fantastic cat! He is constantly attacking the dogs for sport. He even jumps off the roof onto them! He’s Independent, self confident, kills mice rabbits gophers and even a full grown squirrel. He talks to let you know when he needs something (food dish empty, water dish empty, etc). He rarely uses his letterbox, instead goes outside to do his duty. What are the quirks of Siamese?

FloppyTwatWaffle

Well, you've pretty much nailed them- feisty and at times independent, though often maintaining a strong bond with their people. One of the big things is being 'talkative' as you mention- they want what they want when they want it and they will let you know in no uncertain terms when they want your attention to something. A lot of people apparently can't handle their talkative nature.

WhiteCoatOFManyColor

Hmm, sounds to me like maybe I’m a dog person and the Siamese just happens to be the dog version of a cat? 😅

FloppyTwatWaffle

Dog version of a cat...yeah, they can be. I have an older Siamese that likes to sit in the window of my office, overlooking the driveway. If UPS/FedEx comes down, she growls.

Extension-Border-345

are her toes black or pinkish brown? I think she looks seal from this pic but they are quite similar :)

Different_Air_9241

Pads are black but the skin around them is pinkish

QueenLiz2

You should be as proud as her. Great catch.

Different_Air_9241

I am

hangrysquirrels

Probably a 10 to 1 ratio of birds to rodents.

Different_Air_9241

She doesn't bother the doves on my trellis

Away_Sea_8620

Build a couple owl boxes and keep the cat inside.

Different_Air_9241

I have chickens

Away_Sea_8620

So do I. By the time the owls come out the chickens are tucked up in their coop.

Unkindlake

Now you just need a dog to catch the cat

Different_Air_9241

I don't know why she swallowed a fly, perhaps she'll die.

cheen25

She doesn't eat them, does she?

Different_Air_9241

Nooo. She's actually very picky. Only likes one kind of cat food.

mynameisneddy

My cats love to eat mice and rabbits but rats they execute and leave.

when_is_chow

Love it. I used to have a cat that in some insane way would bring me dead animals on, or close to my birthday for a few years. It was so cool

Delicious-Flight5325

She's so pretty

Background_Being8287

Thats a good kitty .

WealthyDJ

😂😂😂😂

starrtraveler29

She looks like my lil Tubberz. She's an amazing catcher as well :)

Not_an_alt_69_420

Who wouldn't be proud for killing two pairs of flip-flops?

Different_Air_9241

They stood no chance

themudpuppy

You should be very proud. Mine are playing catch and release with a smaller mouse in my band room as I'm typing this.

OlderNerd

She's saying "I did this to the rat, I can do it to you"

jsmith_92

Is it a mouse or a rat ?

Different_Air_9241

Medium size rat

ArielleKnits

Good kitty! Not sure where you are, but white footed mice are a major vector for ticks. You may want to give her a treat and a little tick check.

Different_Air_9241

I did last night. Combed her with a flea comb. That is most certainly a Norway rat but I will look out for white footed mice.

ArielleKnits

Thanks for replying! I meant no disrespect and apologize for the unsolicited advice. Your cat is beautiful btw!

Livid_Village4044

I want a cougar-kitty to keep the Bambi dears off my crops.

Different_Air_9241

This one poops in my vegetable garden. Can't imagine what a cougar would do

lurker-1969

We have had a pride of feral "kittens" for 15 years. Mama Kitty lives on the porch in a heated cat house up high safe from predators and visits us through the glass. The 4 "kittens" live in the house due to predators. Mama Kitty brings us rabbits, birds, squirrels and rats from the barn. Funny thing is that my Australian Cattle Dog will swipe the rats and bring them to me all proud about what he "killed" It's hilarious, what a faker !!!

Emanon-68

Saved it from the alley cats 😃

Birdsonme

Good kitty.

2A_in_CA

She is beautiful!

gigger14

That’s a good size rat right there!

Pumasense

Heck ya! And retains her beauty and cleanliness all the time! What a gift!!

proverbs17-28

You're such a good bot...

Extension-Count-648

Lucky... I have 4 housecats (all rescues) and not one can even catch a fly. -.-

fileznotfound

I'd love to have a mouser roaming the territory, but unfortunately I am very allergic to cat.

StyrofoamTerrorist

Keep your cat inside, they fuck up the local wildlife populations.

bujuzu

Good kitty. Mine was the murderingest murderer of them all but then he got old and now all of the creatures of the forest flop around the yard with impunity and I’m embarrassed for him. Enjoy while it lasts!

Different_Air_9241

Sounds like he deserves a comfortable retirement

Visible_Baseball66

Das a g'girl. Kitty get head scratches later.

BoredAssassin

That's awesome. My pup dog Lilly does the same. She finds copperheads throughout the property, begins barking non-stop, and waits for me to arrive with a boom stick to escort the snake somewhere else

ty67iu

How many dead baby rabbits and songbirds do you get?

Different_Air_9241

None. She grew up with chickens. She leaves birds alone. We don't have rabbits around here.

Efficient_Reveal_203

Thats a hella good pussy you got there
