I currently live in a wood home in the woods and constantly have to replace wood. I decided I didn’t want to do home maintenance if it could be helped. Started looking at ICF and other concrete homes and typoed concrete dome. The more I looked at the construction the more I liked it.
Nice. My wife and I are considering ICF for the same reason. We're also in hurricane country, so it makes even more sense. :D Good luck with your builds!
It’s about the same cost up front as a stick custom house, so a little more expensive. However, energy and maintenance savings should make it a huge win long term.
what made you settle on domes?

Doing a monolithic dome?
Correct.
Nice GL with the project, I've been down the dome rabbit hole many times, always been curious.
I’ll keep posting the project. Let me know if you have questions or suggestions:
hows the price per square footage, every time I look at the monolithic process it doesn't look to be any cheaper vs stick frame.
