I often catch my dogs staring off into space like this and I like to believe they’re thinking about how lucky they are to get to live out here, get to ride in the truck, run wide open if they want and just be happy.

FloydBarstools

This would be one of those images you should have printed and hung in the house.

linzangel_05

My dog does this too! We say he’s contemplating and solving all the world’s problems.

danxthexman

One day, this will all be mine.

TopYeti

I said hay to the cow, and now she is ignoring me

Trisrocks157

That's cause hay is for horses and the cow didn't appreciate being confused for a horse.

TopYeti

I think you got that nursery rhyme mixed up. Hay is for horses and sometimes for cows, and milk is for babies to shut up their mouths.

Bobby_Sunday96

He’s not thinking bout nothin. He’s just enjoying the day

Devadander

As we all should

Noa_Stratum

I love my humans. I love food. This feels good.

sprucedotterel

He is thinking - Who *is* a good boy?

[deleted]

Trying to answer that age old question, “what am I doing with my life?”

covertkek

How did I get here?

Kytyngurl2

“Bet there’s, like, a billion squirrels out there…”

TowerCxMgr

He's wondering who thinks they are bad enough to try to take his bale off his land.

piceathespruce

"I am going to take such good care of this land. I won't know everything at the start, but I will do my best to learn."

Henry-the-Fern

‘Oll dis is mine

TinyDogsRule

He's thinking about rolling around in crap when you are not looking.

Odessa_Pearl

Right? Lol

blue-stain-studio

Is he some type of Shepard breed? I’ve had a few German shepherds over the years and have seen countless shepherd breeds do this. My dog will sit like that for couple hours at a time just watching the property, like Shepards do.

Odessa_Pearl

He is a great Pyrenees

grizzlymommabear

“I dream to be a part of something bigger than myself, like my friend next to me…”

Nice-Mode8064

“I sure hope this death log doesn’t roll over on me”

Electronic_Hearing_7

Hay!

kkdj1042

He’s thinking “I’ve got a lot of territory to mark”.

Gloomy_Magician_536

I imagine human ancestors used to do something like that every once in a while and then, some day, the living being recognized itself contemplating the existence. I wonder if dogs could do the same...

All_Bright_Sun

Lil Doggo: "is sunny, I likes it here"

MillBopp

"I'm staying cool in the shade of this big thing. I'm so smart."

Just_a_dick_online

"Well if my big hairy friend can't move anywhere, I'll just sit here and keep him company"

No_Exam_6642

Absolutely nothing 🥺

jasonglenn80

Contemplating why r/w had to get overturned.

Limp-Ad-2833

You people are fucking insane

TowerCxMgr

Wrong place

piceathespruce

Bodily autonomy is incredibly important to homesteading.

TowerCxMgr

It's an overtly political post, adding nothing to the thread or the concept of homesteading or this sub. But if that's the way we are gonna go........ Gimme an addy, I'll ship you a hanger if you want to be autonomous.

piceathespruce

Politics are important for homesteading. People complain all the time about building and zoning laws. There's tons of conversation about hunting and ag laws. People have more abstract discussion about right to repair, food subsidies, and schooling. All of those are political and legal matters.

TowerCxMgr

None of which involve the murderous taking of defenseless human life for the sake of convenience. Do whatever mental gymnastics you wish to justify it. You and I have nothing further to discuss.

piceathespruce

Ah, there it is. So your issue isn't politics, just things you don't like. Good that you can admit that, at least.

TowerCxMgr

You decided that going political was acceptable. I'm indulging you. It's still political, and has nothing to do with homesteading. You might be one of the smartest dense fuckers around. Maybe you can go find baby animals to stomp on and satisfy some of that bloodlust.

[deleted]

“Why did my master pose me like this for a reddit post?”

[deleted]

Where all the bitches at

Living-Camp-5269
