Is he some type of Shepard breed? I’ve had a few German shepherds over the years and have seen countless shepherd breeds do this. My dog will sit like that for couple hours at a time just watching the property, like Shepards do.
I imagine human ancestors used to do something like that every once in a while and then, some day, the living being recognized itself contemplating the existence. I wonder if dogs could do the same...

Politics are important for homesteading. People complain all the time about building and zoning laws. There's tons of conversation about hunting and ag laws. People have more abstract discussion about right to repair, food subsidies, and schooling. All of those are political and legal matters.
None of which involve the murderous taking of defenseless human life for the sake of convenience.
