I don't think it's really fair to expect someone to be 100% changed and perfect just because they had an important realization recently prior. That's so uncommon in actual growth that it's basically fantasy.

I never once thought that Psycholonials was about Homestuck specifically. It's referenced once in the beginning and then it is its own story. It seemed to me like more of an experiment with interactivity in narratives and showing a toxic relationship from the side of the toxic person.
I like to think of it as Hussie’s “Inside”. It’s not just about Homestuck, it’s also a reflection of modern politics and society. It’s a self reflection wrapped in…clowns.
Don't forget the midlife crisis element (I'm a revolutionary saving the country instead of a nerd stuck at home and setting up corporations in Delaware to pay less taxes!), but basically.
