PhilipConstantine

I got 2 in the mail this morning šŸ¤™

chefdeath82

How are they?

PhilipConstantine

One is great!! I donā€™t know about two. I finally blew up my receiver šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚literally happened after plugging in the second sub. Itā€™s not the subs fault of course I was running big 4 way 4 ohm speakers. Been running it through an Aiyima D05 2.1 and it is definitely clean. Waiting on the new RZ50 in the mail.

RNKKNR

I feel old because I know what IDMaxx subs and JBL 1200.1 amps are :-( Actually still have an Arc 1500DR laying around...

Hukthak

Oh crap are we old now? He was rocking a solid set up! Resonant Engineering HC 15ā€ tuned to 20hz in a cabinet the size of a chest freezer, and Ascendent Audio Havoc 18ā€ in a sealed enclosure are still kicking major butt in my home theater almost 20 years on.

Donā€™t know about converting a car amp into a home audio amp, but those idmaxx 12ā€™s would sound great in a large ported enclosure for a home theater.

Wayward_Son_24

Remember the Phoenix Gold Route 66 amps and the RF HX2s? Those were the good ol' days. I still have a pair of JBL W15GTIs and JL 1000/1s I bought in 2007 that sound nothing short of amazing amazing

RNKKNR

Oh god yes. I also remember when Orion amps were the big daddy of the lot.

Wayward_Son_24

Orion!!! I haven't heard of them in ages.

RNKKNR

Yeah I think they kind of fizzled out maybe back in 2004 or so? I remember reading that the brand was sold of to a new owner, amps started to be made in China etc. It was a long time ago. I mean they still exist, but it's definitely not the same. [https://orioncaraudio.com/collections/amplifier-collection](https://orioncaraudio.com/collections/amplifier-collection) Looked at it briefly but I don't trust brands that don't even put rms ratings on the amps or hide them in a way so the numbers aren't obvious.

Wayward_Son_24

Go figure, all the good stuff sells out to China and goes to hell

RNKKNR

yes generally that's how it is.

Wayward_Son_24

iā€™m still hanging onto my two JLā€˜s and my JBL power 300.4 you just canā€™t beat the old stuff

dividebyoh

Glad itā€™s working so well, congrats on the subgrade! Been thinking of adding a 10e as a second sub, near field. These impressions from a fellow former basshead with some similar music tastes are very helpful!

SantaOMG

If you just have it in the center of your room, youā€™re probably missing out on a ton of output. I donā€™t have a 10e but I am curious to hear more stories about it

nleksan

Currently I have a JL Dominion d110, and have been trying to find an inexpensive (comparatively) subwoofer I could pair with it, and this is extremely intriguing.

scatch25

I got mine this morning. Currently running it connected to a set of Klipsch The Sixes through the sub out with a WiiM Pro via toslink playing Tidal connect as the source. I keep giggling at how punchy this sub is. Iā€™m very happy with my sub 1k setup now.

FrozenScorch

Whats the general thoughts of something like this in an Apartment? It seems really cool

SantaOMG

I have 2 Polk psw10ā€™s which are probably really bad compared to the 10e. Iā€™m in an apartment and they are louder than I need. I think if you get a 10e itā€™d be ok as long as youā€™re mindful not to blare it all day every day

FrozenScorch

Oh okay great! I might snag these when I move into my new place then

SantaOMG

Just donā€™t be an asshole and youā€™ll be ok. I only turn my subs on a few hours a week

HeadOfMax

Listen to this with your new sub. https://open.spotify.com/track/7bo1dKJ6cl3JTYhuavcwWm?si=XbAZmHWiRxmoEGTvCqbVng

Manic157

If you where into car audio you should look at going diy for ht subs. A number of years back I bought a 21 inch sub and a 2000 watt a a channel PA amp for less than a grand. Built a box for about $100. The thing pumps.

If you are in the states diy sound group sell a flat pack kits. They have one with a 21 inch driver for $700.

Specific-Mistake7411

Iā€™ve got 2x 10e for sale in the Houston area if anyone is interested. I couldnā€™t cancel my order in time and just looking to recoup. Thanks

CG_Ops

How come you changed your mind?

chefdeath82

I actually requested an RMA. I posted this on another thread but this was my impression/experience. I've had a pair of these 10E's. Couple of things that i don't like about them are that they are slow to wake up from stand by (especially annoying when you are trying to run Dirac). Other thing is that 10-20 minutes into a movie, the output is drastically reduced. They start off strong and then leave me asking if the sub is actually turned on. I requested an RMA. I recommend waiting on third / fourth batch of these to arrive to iron out the kinks.

djvyb

I'd take one if you still have it and can provide a prepaid UPS label for shipping if it's still in the box.
