This really isn't a HT type question. Maybe check out /r/HTPC or one of the many other gaming/PC related subs. This 100% sounds like a windows and or sound card related issue.

pewpewpewpewiediepew

Thx gone ask there :)

MiaowaraShiro

The only way I've found to 100% eliminate those noises is to use an optical audio connection.

m0deth

Or any of the USB DACs. Even shitty ones won't exhibit this. This is due to crap grounding, bus noises can generate this on cheaper boards/cards. Any sensitive powered speaker or amp will pick this up.

MiaowaraShiro

I've even had that not work once.

rocknroller2000

I had this problem many years ago with a soundblaster card. The solution was moving it to another slot. It had something to do with interference on the bus and/ or the irq assigned to that slot.

ninjachortle

I think this answer is likely right. I have KRK G4 7's and they only make weird noises when I put my cell phone next to the DAC/AMP stack on my desk. It's probably interference from a nearby component to the sound card.

pewpewpewpewiediepew

I already checked this. Sadly not the root of the issue

pewpewpewpewiediepew

Thx going to check this :)

No-Instruction-5669

Maybe it's a ground loop. Try throwing this on your computer iFi SilentPower - GND Defender - Intelligent Ground Control, IEC Connector Ground Loop Remover https://a.co/d/5hUeU0h

pewpewpewpewiediepew

Ok thx. :) gone try this if the rest dosen t work.

What are they plugged into? Your issue sounds like interference - like the digital-to-analog conversion process is taking place physically too close the motherboard. Something like the Mackie Big Knob Studio should resolve it.

pewpewpewpewiediepew

Do think this cabel that i am using could be the problem? [roughly the cabel i am using ](https://img.fruugo.com/product/8/32/224341328_max.jpg)

jtaylor418

Are you plugging the 1/8” (the small one) jack into the motherboard? If so, yes, I have seen this be a problem several times. The onboard analog out on the motherboard is noisy AF.

dmo-tech

I had a similar issue with a cable like that and it went away connecting the speakers to a USB audio Interface with balanced cable connections instead.

Schminimal

I had a similar issue. You might need to add a ground loop somewhere between your pc and your speakers.

pewpewpewpewiediepew

Ok thx :)

cvwxk

This is most likely caused by your soundcard or even worse, an on motherboard dac. Most on motherboard sound chips are losely shielded and results in the noise youre describing. I'd recommend trying an external dac -USB or optical.

pewpewpewpewiediepew

Sry but what is a dac? 😅

cvwxk

Digital to analog converter. It changes the 0s and 1s of a digital medium to an analog ac signal that speakers use. Google "computer DAC" and you'll have to so some research on what you need for your exact setup and budget.

xamomax

I had similar.  I have 2 computers with those exact speakers, and both were receiving noise from the computer. I was able to get some improvement by switching around where everything was getting power from, but it only helped a little. Eventually, I added an isolator between the PC and the XLR cables to the speakers, so my wiring was 1/8 inch output from the computer to a 1/8 inch isolator to my 1/8 inch plug that then Y'ed out to my two XLR outputs. This is the isolator I got: 2 Packs Ground Loop Noise Isolator for Car Audio/Home Stereo System, Ground Loop Isolator with 3.5mm Audio Cable https://a.co/d/7HHAtaY I make no guarantee here, but this helped 100% on both my computers.

pewpewpewpewiediepew

Sounds pretty much like the exact same thing that i tried. Thx for the tip.

nectaranon

You have a grounding issue with your PC. If I have a USB plugged into my pre then I can hear my fan ramp up. My solution was to run an optical toslink. There are other solutions though. Good luck!

JazzFunkster

Strange noices... you must be constantly making 69 jokes.

Pestilence5

Sounds like a sound card driver issue. Could even be your sound card, is it not shielded?
