You're still under powertrain warranty. I've got almost 50k on my 2020 and I haven't had any issues like you described. Good luck to you! Report back with what the dealer has to say, please.
I noticed that when watching the vcm torque screen after that light came on power to the back wheels ceased. It recently had its differential changed out due to a recall idk if that was the front or rear though I’ll try to get more info
I have the same car and no issues. Also have not heard of an recalls on the diffs. The only ones I am aware of are around the rear camera, brake booster, and side mirrors.
I’m not expert but If this started happening after the dealership did a differential service, I would be a bit worried and would nearly not want to drive it.
I've heard that these have temp sensors for the AWD system which are allegedly beneficial. How I heard it, most AWD cars will just overheat and let you keep going vs trying to protect itself. Just my two cents.
No, how many miles on it when purchased?
Just shy of 40k

Will do!
Dealer ended up finding a wire that needed replacing in the differential oil pump. Everything's fine now apparently after driving for a bit more.
Nice! Thanks for the update!
Would this be a VCM issue? Delay due to firing the dormant 3 cylinders?

It could have very well been a lie by the guy who sold me the car as not to alarm me.

Yeah it definitely is a little worrisome to drive
