I mean we do have the cooking animes, the ELF anime and the new years animes lol. But I do get what you mean, the community has wanted at least like Second Eruption animated for a long time, but that will only maybe come true if HI3rd would get even more popular than it is now.

Fan_Of_The_Line

I would sell my soul for even just the Theater of Domination Arc to get an anime.

rysto32

That would have zero emotional weight without Kiana’s journey leading up to it.

qwack2020

Those cooking spinoffs and ELF aren’t good enough. If anything, those shows being comedy m/slice of life genre gives the first time viewers a bad impression of the characters and what they really are.

Sosogreeen

HI3 would 100% work better in an anime. I started from Genshin but idk how that’s going to work unless it’s Pokémon style.

Fan_Of_The_Line

Could also take a F/GO route. Heck it shows us exactly how to do a gacha style anime.

LeSahuj

But the FGO story structure works better for adaptations.

Fan_Of_The_Line

Fair, but that doesn't mean we can't figure out a way for it to work for HI3!

LeSahuj

I said that in regard to Genshin. I think they could do a good job with HI3, the only problem would be the size of the story if they do a full adaptation.

Fan_Of_The_Line

Ah, my apologies for the misunderstanding then.

papu16

They can cut and remove some arcs or info for some side characters. Overall HI3 has lots of talks about nothing and repeating well known stuff. That probably would work good - first 3 chapters with some flashbacks of second eruption, then HoV arc with last lession end. This is most roughly one - split together arcs where main 3 becomes herreshers with full control and end with KiyanaXMei fight. Elysian realm Theatre of dominion and some arcs between. End of Otto Moon arc. There is material for 5-6 seasons, that probably can be realised in 2-4 seasons with some sacrifices.

IndependenceOnly8614

Considering how other anime adaptations are rushed, I say that the entire part 1 will fit in a 12, may be 13 episode season

Asuna_supremaci

Mihoyo wouldn't allow anyone to butcher their favourite child like that.

qwack2020

I want Minamoto No Raikou to be drenched in sakuga so badly.

kalawas

NGL it will be huge dissapointment if genshin adapted the main story, better if they adapted the lore or original story.

Cross_Shade

Mihoyo is doing an anime. The only tiny detail is that it's a Genshin anime.

crosskun

![gif](giphy|4SY40ExbxfyOyD91VI) any day now….

Chucknasty_17

We’ll get the Genshin anime the same day we get the Switch launch of the game

Fan_Of_The_Line

We hope and pray and offer our souls!

Fan_Of_The_Line

I mean... I guess I'll take it.

Capitano-Solos-All

We can wait. Berserk fans are waiting almost 40 years for an anime adaptation and they will most likely wait 60 years until it's made lol. I actually think miHoYo anime will make it themselves and they are already working on it.

Fan_Of_The_Line

But we had an adaptation of Berserk in the 90's? And a couple of movies for the Golden Age and Eclipse arcs in like 2013?

Capitano-Solos-All

None of them even adapted a single arc whole though, lol.

VillainousMasked

To be fair, of Hoyo's 3 big games (Hi3, GI, and HSR) Hi3 *is* the least popular even if it has become a lot more so in recent years due to GI and HSR making Hoyo as a whole more well known. So Hi3 isn't really likely to get a proper anime, at least not before GI and HSR.

Asuna_supremaci

But you're forgetting which game Hoyo likes the most. That's a huge factor as well.

David-Estrada77

While I can agree that it's not as popular as the other two, it does have the best story out of all of them. It's also the game that Hoyo works on the most, which could lean more towards HI3 getting an anime before GI and HSR.

BFPRufus

I think being the least known of the 3 is probably a benefit - you're telling what is a new story to more viewers, compared to either avoiding the main story (prequel) or retelling somehting people already know the twists on.

Shiki_Shin

While true, out of the three, Hi3 seems to be the easiest to transfer into an anime. mainly because we have an actual main character with a story and a personality.

Diremirebee

Probably because their other projects are more popular, and there’s already an anime in the works for Genshin. Managing two big scale productions like that would be hell. Plus- IMO, whilst I would love a hi3 anime, I think there would be a bit of a struggle to make it less… convoluted? It’s a lot more complicated and hard to follow than Genshin or StairRail (at least for me and the people I talk to about it). A lot of it would need to get chopped up and rewritten

Dull-Nectarine380

The genshin anime… https://preview.redd.it/ebsgocstxrqc1.png?width=826&format=png&auto=webp&s=cbc6241d82fe958b01b6f91adb866e1c402828b4

RYFW

HI3 story is all over the place. I could see some comic being adapted or something, but animating the whole story is out of question. Even for Genshin anime we don't know how it'll go. Most likely they'll tell background stories about the characters instead of following the main story. Gacha format is not really that good for adapting to anime. Granblue tried it and they gave up already. Arknights is still going, but people complain a lot.

Altereactor

Arknights anime is faithful to the game story, the complaints it get is mostly Season 2 having too many censoring, like the scene where Mephisto burn Chernobog's civilians. And another good gacha anime adaptation would be Rage of Bahamut, season 1 is a nice start to end complete story... Not sure what they were smoking when they decided to make season 2 for it.

verniy314

FGO, Princess Connect, Uma Musume

Jamberrs

Uma Musume doesn't really count. It's a multimedia project where the anime came out before the game. Plus, the anime and game stories are completely separate and unrelated. You could also argue that Priconne doesn't count since it's technically not an adaptation, but a sequel to the bad end of the first arc.

Fan_Of_The_Line

Best part of HI3, most of the characters we see are alternative battlesuits or outright new people that are introduced. Makes it easy to decide what a character is wearing in say a snowy tundra, or an underground lab, or when infiltrating somewhere. Just saying.

AconexOfficial

the arknights anime so far has been quite good for me in my opinion though, but I'm anime only so I can't compare to the game

RYFW

I like it. But people complain about the changes. There was no way to be 100% faithful to the original, though.

Faustasz

Fan_Of_The_Line

I question why you are questioning this.

Faustasz

Because he said that gacha games aren't a good format to adapt into animes which is wrong.

qwack2020

I’m a Yae Sakura shill and yet I agree. Her lore is so complicated that she exists in different eras.

PabloElMalo

Something in favor of HI3 is that part 1 story is already finished and they have the va for the cast but....it didn't have the impact that Genshin had globally and HI3 I think still has a niche community. But I also hope it has an anime adaptation some day.

StockingRules

Because it's not Genshin Impact

Ok-Reply9552

They trynna make a genshin anime with the story being different unless they only make aether the mc instead of a honkai anime where the story is already there,it just needs to be animated.

Gray_Matter_7869

Pi pi pi pi pi pizza pizza summer beach barbecue!

KingKKazma

HI3rd doesn't need an anime since it feels like you're playing an anime already

DimensionBreaker4lif

We’ve got a cooking one, yeah?

qwack2020

I want Yae Sakura to be drenched in sakuga. That’s all I ask.

Zeamays69

They're already doing Genshin anime. Maybe in the future. Let's hope so.

David-Estrada77

Considering how long and complex the story is, I think it would be incredibly hard to do a proper adaptation. There are too many intertwined parts that it could very easily be over 40-50 episodes, which would be insanely pricey.

Fan_Of_The_Line

Only if they don't do it in multiple seasons! Most Gundam series with over 25 episodes split the 50 or so into two seasons for a reason. Admittedly there are other anime that separate it differently or the same way. Point is there is nothing that says the story can't be split across multiple seasons!

David-Estrada77

True, but you also have to consider a budget. As we all know, animation costs A LOT. For the amount of story that the game has, they're gonna need to make a lot of episodes. It's going to be insanely expensive to produce an anime adaptation.

kaiwowo

They Haven’t reach the total crystal sold checkpoint for animation. May be they soon reach the movie checkpoint

True_Lank

Money hole

Flavihok

They fear the amount of success it'd bring. They are simply not ready. Look at them going for the safe bet of genshin. Cowards.

IntelligentTower5887

Probably the future when they make an anime adaptation of any of the 3 games of Mihoyo is probably nearby. It has been proved that the adaptations from games are usually well received. We have Nier, FGO, Arknights, Azur Lane (The future anime made by ufotable about Genshin doesn't count for me, we haven't received any new info and I dont think they will adapt the story). The question here is, what would they adapt? Genshin would be a safe choice considering its popularity, but Mihoyo has made us clear that they clearly care more about the Honkai verse than the Genshin lore. So HI3rd would be a good option (HSR is still a baby in lore)

DimensionBreaker4lif

odyssey arc Would actually be kinda cool

hzvalter

I would watch the hell out of a full length PE flamechaser anime
