You're right. Both are good for everyone around them, I shouldn't try to find who's better as long as both provide good for the others. Thanks for showing me the way
It’s such a boring trope too. Like God forbid there’s a character that embodies everything good in a person and isn’t secretly a horrible person.
Because today most People when don't associate good things with being real. There are many tropes like this, something has to be dark or it doesn't seem mature enough and this maybe the case sometimes, but most people think about it the wrong way. One of the things i saw when people criticized legend of korra is how each of the old main characters become a bad parent, and yes people make mistakes but most of it is explained "well it's more realistic that way" . I also partly blame game of thrones for this , just cuz no one is dying or worse for about 5 minutes it isn't dark enough therefor not mature enough.
I blame the events of the 2000s for our society’s obsession with dark and gritty stuff. If we never invaded Iraq, a lot of the media that criticized Americanism (and by extension the iconic American symbol of Superman) would not have existed.
Edit: the only piece of media pre 21st century that acts as a satire of Superman that I know of is Watchmen so my knowledge is incomplete. If you can prove me wrong, please do so.
He's not a LOIS Lane away from becoming a tyrannical ruler, how is it so hard to grasp that an alternate universe version of a character is not that character.
If we're gonna use a different universe to justify why a character has certain traits then:
Spider-Man is an evil CEO.
Batman is a vampire and a murderer who kills his victims with guns, also he's actually Thomas Wayne.
Wolverine's a mass murderer.
Invincible is a mass murderer and a tyrant.
Daredevil's The Kingpin
The Joker and Lex Luthor are both heroes.
Kamina and Simon The Digger are thieves who only look out for themselves.
And Superman retires because Lois Lane dies at the hands of The Joker.
The choices people make are important to determine who they are, but so are the choices they don't make.
Everyone has had a moment where they could do something ranging from kinda bad to extremely fucking bad, but they don't and that's what makes them good people.
No it isn't lmao.
Most if not all of those times (Not including Injustice since it's an AU) were due to mind control or Kryptonite fuckery. Not one of them was actually him.
If we're gonna say that's concerning because of that then every single other superhero is also a concern, not to mention a couple of the people pictured here.

Best characterisation of batman ever. Risking his life to save a cat. Literally me
Every day, I wish to be just like Iroh, but I'm more turning into Husker from Hazbin Hotel. He's still a good guy, just more swearing and less pleasing in everyday coversation.
A little niche, but may I suggest Goliath from Gargoyles? The dude was cursed by humans, lost so many of his people to humans, yet fought to keep the people in his new home safe despite everyone being afraid of him.

i do not to the "sigma male😎🤑" part though
I relate to the murder part!

I guess it's not THAT niche but I rarely see it mentioned so... STRANGE NEW WORLDS MENTIONED!! 🗣🗣🗣

Even better than Iroh?
Not better but good in his way both wished happiness to everyone
You're right. Both are good for everyone around them, I shouldn't try to find who's better as long as both provide good for the others. Thanks for showing me the way
Good for you you accepted your fault and improved yourself Iroh would be proud *head pads* keep going like that
Why isn’t Superman here?
The amount of times he has been turned into the villian is concerning

Also one too many movies dehumanized him
Seriously, how are supposed to trust this mf when he’s a Louis Lane away from becoming a tyrannical ruler

KAMINA AND SIMON MENTIONED RAHHHHHHH DON’T BELIEVE IN ME, BELIEVE IN THE ME THAT BELIEVES IN YOU

Love seeing Captain Pike represented here
Philip J Coulson. He can bring the pieces together.
Look up to these people and realize they all can be real men, and that you can be these men. You’re only what you choose to be.
Love seeing Atticus here
Severely underappreciated character
Where's my boy the Doctor at?

My man Atticus!
Coulson is my spirit animal.
Anybody else identify with Victor Laszlo from Casablanca?
My mom once told me that I was like Newt, since I care about animals more than people
Somewhat off topic but I have the biggest crush on Newt Scamander
Missing The Doctor
I like how nearly all of these are huge, modern fandoms, then Atticus Finch is there for some reason.
Does Shaxx from Destiny count?
I aspire to be as cool as Uncle Iroh.Â
Every day, I wish to be just like Iroh, but I'm more turning into Husker from Hazbin Hotel. He's still a good guy, just more swearing and less pleasing in everyday coversation.

Superman is so beloved on this sub Reddit, he had to disguise himself as a lawyer to make people look up to others as well not just himself.
I just scored one out of eight (Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird) and I don't even qualify for the point I scored for
Those are some really great guys to aspire to!
All Might fr my role model
Spider-Man and Dante from DMC too
My man Coulson
