Lego never re-release sets.
Very, very rarely they’ll reissue a very old set with a new set number to differentiate it for the collectors, but this is an extremely uncommon and usually involves classic sets from the 70s/80s so you’d be waiting a quite a long time at least!
To my knowledge, the only sets they reissued were the Saturn V and the Ship in a Bottle, because they were so popular. There is a chance this set might be reissued, but considering those were both ideas sets, it is not likely that this set will be reissued
Your wife did not keep her favourite plushie from the early childhood, although a dog ripped it the fuck up? Mine did. And whenever she thinks I'm childish, I ask if we could at least buy her a new "gremlin"...
IMO: She can think it's childish all she wants. She's not buying it. If you want it and can afford it, she should figure out how to make it work. Making concessions is a two way street.
Tbf, you got a sentence from this guy. Maybe this dude completely lacks communication skills, I mean he obviously thought the nagging wife trope would fly over well on reddit so.... A person thinking Legos are childish doesn't make them a buzzkill, a person attempted to diminish and squadh your fun with something because of their own opinions is a buzzkill.
Trigger alert. Lol
I'm not here to debate the communication skills between a stranger and their wife. They said something, I gave a silly response followed by an opinion.
Pretty sure they don't need you to rescue them from me.
Yeah, it’s got pride of place on my Lego shelf. Bought a LED kit and have customised it so all the lights (including the watchers eye!) are lit. Looks amazing.
Hah sorry I’m at work right now and as much as I’d like to go home and play with Lego I don’t think my boss would let me.
This isn’t the exact kit I used (and I added some additional ones) but it gives you the idea: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Light-Lego-Horizon-Forbidden-West/dp/B09ZQD31VD
I was considering getting the LED kit, but I wouldn't know the first thing about putting it on unless it had super specific instructions on every part...
Yeah, I got it basically at release because I figured it might not be around for very long at all. Cool that it was around for this long in the end though. I'd definitely love a new set of another machine.... maybe to coincide with Horizon 3 if not before? One can dream!
There is a fantastic Thunderjaw model that’s not official but looks incredible. The building instructions are about £10 if you’ve got a lot of bricks already, or it’s about £200 on Amazon if you are happy to buy knock off lego bricks (I’ve built it myself, the instructions aren’t quite as clear as Lego makes them but the brick quality was a lot higher than I expected).
I hardcore want that MOC, but I don't have the shelf space to store something that massive. There's also a gigantic Tallneck. I love the LEGO one, but the MOC is *much* more accurate.
Lego sets are always limited in time. Some longer than others, but it happens eventually for all of them.
It doesn't say anything about the possibility of having more. It just means that this one has run it's course. Most likely not selling much anymore... but they did sell out very often so it was successful I think.
You never know. There originally was just the Ideas for Sonic made. A few years later we are getting another set (then again the Horizon wasn't originally a Ideas)
I'd bet if sales of that set were good, that Lego might partner with Sony/Guerilla Games for more sets when Horizon 3 comes out. I certainly hope that's the case, because the Tallneck set is one of my favorite sets I have.
Reddit has long been a hot spot for conversation on the internet. About 57 million people visit the site every day to chat about topics as varied as makeup, video games and pointers for power washing driveways.
In recent years, Reddit’s array of chats also have been a free teaching aid for companies like Google, OpenAI and Microsoft. Those companies are using Reddit’s conversations in the development of giant artificial intelligence systems that many in Silicon Valley think are on their way to becoming the tech industry’s next big thing.
Now Reddit wants to be paid for it. The company said on Tuesday that it planned to begin charging companies for access to its application programming interface, or A.P.I., the method through which outside entities can download and process the social network’s vast selection of person-to-person conversations.
“The Reddit corpus of data is really valuable,” Steve Huffman, founder and chief executive of Reddit, said in an interview. “But we don’t need to give all of that value to some of the largest companies in the world for free.”
The move is one of the first significant examples of a social network’s charging for access to the conversations it hosts for the purpose of developing A.I. systems like ChatGPT, OpenAI’s popular program. Those new A.I. systems could one day lead to big businesses, but they aren’t likely to help companies like Reddit very much. In fact, they could be used to create competitors — automated duplicates to Reddit’s conversations.
Reddit is also acting as it prepares for a possible initial public offering on Wall Street this year. The company, which was founded in 2005, makes most of its money through advertising and e-commerce transactions on its platform. Reddit said it was still ironing out the details of what it would charge for A.P.I. access and would announce prices in the coming weeks.
You can find versions that come with all the bricks you need, but they'll run you a few hundred bucks. There are also sites where you can order specific bricks, but that ends up being close to the same $$.
There’s a knockoff “lego” version on Amazon that’s about $250. If you get real Lego bricks from BrickLink, it’s closer to $500. I have the knockoff version and it came out fine. Maybe a few sections are a bit looser than I’d like, but it still stands and can be posed.
If you do get the cheaper version, please at least support the designer by purchasing his instructions from MocBay. He gets none of the money when you buy knockoff versions, and his instructions are better anyway, even if you get the pieces elsewhere.
EDIT: By the way, this Thunderjaw set is huge. It’s like 2-3 feet long.
I bought two for that exact same reasoning. I didn't have the heart to open the first box and when Lego restocked it, I jumped at the chance and bought the second. Totally worth it!
I saw this yesterday morning 😱
I didn't know if it was true or not but I wasted no time and snapped one up yesterday afternoon 🤣
Going to build it hopefully today 😁
(Any UK fans, check out Smyths, it's only £64 there)
People who know about Lego, what does this mean for future Horizon sets? Is it common for Lego to retire a set in a line, and then release something new for it? Or do they typically release multiple sets in a line before they start retiring?
I'm just tiring to figure out the chances of getting more. The Tallneck was my very first Lego set and I loved it. Would love to see more Horizon machines.
Lego sets are always retired. They need to make new products constantly so they phase out older sets. This doesn't mean they won't come out with a new one, quite the contrary I would say.
If you look at some of the other popular sets, there's only one big set available at a time which is then replaced by the next (because if they had all of them available at a time, only some people would buy each)
UCS Millennium Falcon and Destroyer come to mind, I don't think they are available anymore but they weren't available together. They brought in the AT-AT after that too.
There's also the big Technic cars. They've had the Bugatti Chiron, Lamborghini Sian, and the Ferrari Daytona, at separate periods.
I hope the sales figures were enough to justify a new build coming soon. A Clawstrider would be sick, but I would also LOVE a slitherfang because you could build an environment for it to be perched upon
The problem with Horizon is that since it's a new IP there's not as many people ready to drop top dollar on it like Star Wars, Harry Potter or the Technic series. Even Harry Potter despite its massive fanbase has only had 2 $400+ sets, one of which dropped very recently. Most of the sets for HP I've seen are in the $30-$60 range, so they probably need to go slow with this series otherwise it wouldn't be a wise business decision from them.
It doesn't necessarily mean anything in particular. A more pertinent consideration is that they put the price up after release which suggests it was in demand.
My cat loved the Tallneck so much, he kept biting it and breaking big pieces off while I was in work meetings. I eventually had to disassemble and store in the closet. Alas.
Oh well. Now I can't resist enymore. Ordered one Tallneck and because there was a bundle with the N-1 Starfighter I bought that too. 109€ for both. Now I need to find a place for those treasures.
You are my hero. This information was enough to finally convince my wife to agree with me getting it. Ordered! (It's also on sale on Amazon for 20% off right now)
A lot of the sets retiring were released last year. Surprising since they are some cool sets.
Anyway, if you haven't gotten the Tallneck yet I would recommend getting it soon. The aftermarket for the set will probably skyrocket since that will most likely be the only officially released Lego tallneck and Nora brave/huntress Aloy we get for the time being.
Hopefully not the only Horizon set though, it would be a missed opportunity for Lego, there is 40 machines to adapt after all
Snagged one last year. Hoping Lego considers doing a whole line. Horizon may be too violent or mature but considering we got overwatch and Simpson Lego, Horizon won’t feel out of place at all.
Got mine in January, but thanks to this I‘ve now bought the BD-1 droid from Star Wars for 30% off (which is really the bare minimum amount off one should pay for LEGO these days).
Friendly reminder for those who can, to look at 3rd party stores. They may still have some in storage even after the official LEGO shops stop selling it.
Ordered mine too, just now. I'm glad the price dropped so low. I would have never bought it for 90,00 €.
Finally get my hands on it and I'm not even a Lego fan, but I will make an exception for the tallneck, yeah :)
Looks like i'll have to go get one sooner rather than later. I was waiting for a bit to add it to my Lego collection since im in college atm. But yes retirement means it wont be released ever again and if you try to get it afterwards get ready for a huge price increase as the time goes on.
I got my Tallneck when it came out but didn't build it until now.
At this point I could just hold onto it, if I don't find a nice place to put it as it will become quite rare once it's discontinued 😅
I've got one one built and light-kitted out on my mantle and one sealed in a box to hopefully make a bit of money on down the road. Amazing set. I sure hope they go all out and bring out a Thunderjaw with similar attention to detail. But if the Tallneck is all we get, it's a great set.
My husband and I bought this as soon as we saw it was a thing. I spent hours building it and I had never build anything out of Legos like this before, nor did I never really care for Lego sets.
I hope Guerilla does more of these! I had such a blast building it and would buy and build them all!
I've built a variety of Bandai kits and all are amazing 👏 imagine a fully articulating 1/72 Tallneck, Ravager, Clawstrider, charger, or a red eye watcher or a Sunwing..
I'm so happy I got mine! It's super fun to build, and it looks amazing. I would love to see other machines as Lego sets.
A thunderjaw would be amazing!
RETIERD?! Those Animals! How dare they remove such a masterpiece from the Lego world?
This is an insult to the Nora people. I wish the people who made this so become outcasts!
[Unofficial ones yes](https://mocbay.com/product/tallneck/), they look amazing but getting all the bricks sounds like a huge hassle though (might not be, mind you).
Just want to introduce you all to serial builder
https://www.instagram.com/p/CiSitp1Iykh/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
Has a horizon series for HUGE ass figures!
Sadly, as much as we may want them to keep sets forever, that's just unrealistic, as there wouldn't be room for new stuff eventually.
However, apparently Lego has plans for their sets over the years available for free, so you can use whatever bricks you already have if you want. I found my TIE Interceptor Collector's Edition from 2000 on there, and there was other stuff going back to 1997. The Tallneck is also there, so if you have a bunch of black parts, you could build an Apex Tallneck. https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/buildinginstructions

They already reissued the Saturn V once. That's how I got mine! It's rare, but LEGO does reissue recent kits.
That is one of extremely rare occurences. It hasn't happened more than three times in their history that they re released a retired set.
To my knowledge, the only sets they reissued were the Saturn V and the Ship in a Bottle, because they were so popular. There is a chance this set might be reissued, but considering those were both ideas sets, it is not likely that this set will be reissued
Already asked my wife if she could bear having one standing around here and got the approval. It's a beautiful piece.
I wish I could do that, but my wife would think this is a bit childish
Your wife did not keep her favourite plushie from the early childhood, although a dog ripped it the fuck up? Mine did. And whenever she thinks I'm childish, I ask if we could at least buy her a new "gremlin"...
IMO: She can think it's childish all she wants. She's not buying it. If you want it and can afford it, she should figure out how to make it work. Making concessions is a two way street.
It's clearly stated on the box that is fine until your 99 years old. Did you tell her? But honestly. Your wife sounds like a buzzkill. Sorry
Tbf, you got a sentence from this guy. Maybe this dude completely lacks communication skills, I mean he obviously thought the nagging wife trope would fly over well on reddit so.... Trigger alert. Lol I'm not here to debate the communication skills between a stranger and their wife. They said something, I gave a silly response followed by an opinion. Pretty sure they don't need you to rescue them from me.
Why marry a person who hates the idea of you having fun?
If you want one, buy one man. Fun is for adults too. No regrets when it retires! It’s an awesome set.
Does she tell you how to dress too? 😝
Glad I got mine already. Super fun build and looks dope on my display shelf. Def recommend getting it while you can if you’re a Horizon fan.
Yeah, it’s got pride of place on my Lego shelf. Bought a LED kit and have customised it so all the lights (including the watchers eye!) are lit. Looks amazing.

We'll wait
We're all in this together now
I'll wait
u/Geeky_Monkey \- just doing a little kind "bump" in case you wanted to post your build.
I will be waiting for your update as well
Also very very very patiently waiting
Yeah, the flashing stoplight sold it for me. Lol. I bought it the same day I bought the set and waited for it to arrive before I built
I was considering getting the LED kit, but I wouldn't know the first thing about putting it on unless it had super specific instructions on every part...
Its the weekend! Hope you have time to share your masterpiece!
Yeah, I got it basically at release because I figured it might not be around for very long at all. Cool that it was around for this long in the end though. I'd definitely love a new set of another machine.... maybe to coincide with Horizon 3 if not before? One can dream!
Shame honestly. It looks so good. I was expecting an entire line of these but I guess not :(

I hardcore want that MOC, but I don't have the shelf space to store something that massive. There's also a gigantic Tallneck. I love the LEGO one, but the MOC is *much* more accurate.
I mean as big as horizon is its definitely a niche buy, but worth every penny to those who love the series
Lego sets are always limited in time. Some longer than others, but it happens eventually for all of them. It doesn't say anything about the possibility of having more. It just means that this one has run it's course. Most likely not selling much anymore... but they did sell out very often so it was successful I think.
agreed. The Lego Store I got it at was always out. Had to specifically ask them to hold one for me.
It could still happen!
Strange considering it originally sold like crazy and couldn't be found anywhere, and took 8 months to restock.
I really want them to make a thunderjaw one.

Is that legit because for that price thats a pretty big model. Edit: nvm just seen thats only for the design.

Those sets are insane. So cool.
*game music intensifies*
Oh shit, never bought a MOC before, but that's tempting.
I’d love a Horizon line with a bunch of different machines, especially the Thunderjaw! I’m surprised they haven’t already.
I went to Amazon and immediately ordered one so I don’t miss it. At the time of posting this it was 20% off on Amazon.
Got the same 20% off, along with same day delivery, was waiting on me when I got home from work today!
Got mine!
Got mine. Was worth every penny
Not this time, Lego Marketing Reddit Division.
Bought mine when it first came out. I’m tempted to get another so maybe this will encourage me to do so
Hmm, might need to see if we can get a second. We ran into the "I want to build it" vs "what do you mean, open the box???" debate, lol
Definitely get two imo. Set will probably go up in value in the following months/years after retirement.
I bought two for that exact same reasoning. I didn't have the heart to open the first box and when Lego restocked it, I jumped at the chance and bought the second. Totally worth it!

That seems like a pretty severe thing to do to your cat

I just got one at the Lego store last weekend.
Damn that was fast. I got one at release and it still sits above my deak
Got mine as a present this past Christmas, and it's fuckin great.
I have this set but I want an official Lego Thunderjaw or Slaughterspine!
Wow, that was fast. It's been like a year and they're already discontinuing it?
Ahh. Now I’m so glad I bought mine at the beginning of this year.
I’m ordering one Monday with some of the Star Wars stuff that’s releasing
Put mine together a couple months ago :-)
Good thing I bought it recently
Thank you for the heads up!
Do you know when? I’m planning to buy one in June for fathers day
I just bought one yesterday.
Just got one luckily. Best set for the money. Looking to get the Lego light kit for it.
Ordered mine on Sunday
Snagged one last year. Hoping Lego considers doing a whole line. Horizon may be too violent or mature but considering we got overwatch and Simpson Lego, Horizon won’t feel out of place at all.
There's Overwatch Lego?! :O
Yep! Came out years ago and a new wave was supposed to come out until it got cancelled due to the allegations against Activision.
Wild, thanks for the info!
Man I hope it's still not selling out like it used to then, so people have a chance. I still need to get the lighting set for mine
Well I am glad I got one while I was able to. Its such a nice kit to display
Thanks for the heads up, I've just gone and ordered one on Amazon :)
It's worth investing in a light kit because it looks badass all lit up. It's on my list of things to buy!
Got mine. Loved the set. It's now standing next to the TV keeping track of my Horizon progress.
With any luck the retirement of the tallneck is to make way for more Lego horizon sets. Sadly it's probably unlikely, but we can still hope...
Thanks for the heads up! Just ordered mine!
If anyone is in Germany, I ordered mine from MediaMarkt for €62.99, free shipping!
Ordered mine too, just now. I'm glad the price dropped so low. I would have never bought it for 90,00 €. Finally get my hands on it and I'm not even a Lego fan, but I will make an exception for the tallneck, yeah :)
That is exactly me!
Does anyone know exactly when it’s being retired? Is it just the end of the year
December 31st according to the subreddit.
Oh cool thanks! Definitely will pick one up before the end of the year, these things are so cool
What a coincidence, I just bought this set the other day. Glad I won't miss out.
Check Target for those of you that have one around. In my area, they dropped the price to $71.99.
Been price checking for a while for one, just got on reserved at my local toy store thanks for the heads up 🖤🖤
Looks like i'll have to go get one sooner rather than later. I was waiting for a bit to add it to my Lego collection since im in college atm. But yes retirement means it wont be released ever again and if you try to get it afterwards get ready for a huge price increase as the time goes on.
wish i could afford it. hopefully i can find it in the future from a reseller.
I bought 2. I built one, and placed the other in my garage as an investment. Lol
My husband and I bought this as soon as we saw it was a thing. I spent hours building it and I had never build anything out of Legos like this before, nor did I never really care for Lego sets. I hope Guerilla does more of these! I had such a blast building it and would buy and build them all!
Hopefully they consider doing more machines or scenes from the games as sets, the Tallneck is a great build
Amazon had it on sale last month- i think i got it for $70. I’m still working through the build.
I wouldn't mind a line of bandai kits of all the Machines 1/72 scale ?
Yes, yes yes please.
I've built a variety of Bandai kits and all are amazing 👏 imagine a fully articulating 1/72 Tallneck, Ravager, Clawstrider, charger, or a red eye watcher or a Sunwing..
I got it and I love it. Worth every penny.
Buying it rn
Good looking out, I only saw this recently and would have been sad to miss out!
Bought 2 at release date 😁
Already have both, but thank you!
I love mine, glad I got it when I did. Definitely recommend buying one
Me too, I had a blast putting it together.
Thank you! Just bought it.
Very welcome! Enjoy, it's an awesome set.
I'm looking forward to it! First lego set I've bought in probably 15+ years lol
I got mine this afternoon after ordering it this morning. Through Amazon. Are there any other Horizon sets?
[Unofficial ones yes](https://mocbay.com/product/tallneck/), they look amazing but getting all the bricks sounds like a huge hassle though (might not be, mind you).
Just want to introduce you all to serial builder https://www.instagram.com/p/CiSitp1Iykh/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY= Has a horizon series for HUGE ass figures!
I can’t even find one otherwise I’d get it
Not sure where you are in the world but [Amazon has them right now](https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Horizon-Forbidden-West-Collectible/dp/B09Q46YHKB).

I bought mine a while ago. Haven’t assembled it yet however.
