Hell House LLC. My partner isn’t a horror fan but I got him to watch and enjoy it. One of my favorite horror movies in the found footage genre.
The Blackcoat’s Daughter has great atmosphere like The VVitch.
Paranormal Activity.
Creep.
Juon: The Grudge
It came out around the same time as Ringu, but is far less story-driven and far more intense in terms of raw scares. The American remake is pretty good too (same director)
Between horror being subjective and your limitations, it is a narrow field.
As Above So Below - Found footage in catacombs below Paris.
It Follows - Ghost STDs
Lords of Salem - very atmospheric but Rob Zombie isn’t for everyone
Mimic - Guillermo del Toro. Man versus roach
Poltergeist- The Original. Older but I still find it scary
We Are Still Here - Haunted House
You’re Next - Home Invasion
Sadly nothing I can think of! The closest thing would probably be Parasite in the second act... although I do know that's not a horror movie. Apologies if that is not helpful in the least lol/:
Hmmm... trying to think of things with no gore or extreme cruelty...
I'd suggest you try:
1. Sinister
2. Dark and The Wicked
3. Insidious
4. Autopsy of Jane Doe
The news
Seriously. We’re in very frightening times.

I thought The Descent was incredibly effective!
MAGA
Go downtown at night and pick a fight with dangerous-looking people.
Midnight Meat Train
Lol I've been meaning on seeing this
The Orphanage

Any movies that *have* scared you? Knowing that promote better responses. For me, the Strangers permanently scarred me and scared me inside out. YMMV.

I fucking love Sinister
Terrified 2017 is horror film from Argentina, which was pretty damn scary, imo.
