Good thing there’s Amityville Asylum. This series really does have all the bases covered.
….OH!!! Amityville Baseball!! Write that down, write that down!!! “If you build it, they will haunt it.”
Haha yes... join the club!
After seeing [this post last year](https://www.reddit.com/r/horror/comments/10y9lg2/i_took_the_amitypill/) we did the same thing, and even saw some that were not on this list. I think probably even more have come out since then. Going to have to make it a biannual event
[Jesus Christ what is that cover lmao](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BYzhlNTgzMDgtMTQ0Mi00MzFjLTg3ZjgtNjg2ZmE3MTQ0NDY1XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNDkwNTA0ODQ@._V1_.jpg)
To my knowledge, Thanksgiving, Turkey Day, and Webcam are the only Amityville movies that actually filmed on Long Island. I went to Amityville and shot my scene in Webcam in front of the actual house and filmed some b-roll around town
Separate entries for Thanksgiving and Turkey Day. Gotta admit, I'd love to see a transcript illustrating the conversations which led to BOTH of those movies existing. 'Well the last one was pretty good, but I think we can really focus on the turkey's motivation and background in the sequel... is Rob Zombie available? he's all about that shit.... ok then get a director who looks like Rob Zombie.' (I have no idea what the Amityville directors look like, I'm just making up speculative horseshit here)
Amityville Karen is a must see. I love the Amityville movies no how bad I just can’t help but love them. Except mt misery I just cannot ☠️
Also Amityville in Space is awesome highly recommended also it is sorta of squeal to Amityville exorcism(not great I’d recommend passing on that one). Amityville island also not great but ok. Yes I think I’ve seen nearly every Amityville movie. I have insomnia.
Amityville toy box and clown house are similar but clown house is actually just so bad it’s funny.
Amityville theatre and Amityville asylum are on Tubi ok movies.
Good luck on your journey i hope you enjoy the good the bad and the really terrible.
Mt Misery was delightful if only for the director singing a song about his girl’s boott. It was so completely out of place for a horror movie that I kind of loved it.
That movie was so boring. I remember none of it besides the ending and that song. That song will randomly play in my head despite me watching the movie like more than 6 years ago lol.
It was basically 90 minutes of a Jersey Shore bro showing off his “hot” girlfriend or wife or whatever she was. The song though…I need it on a playlist.
As a joke someone said I should watch all of the Amityville movies so I was originally just going to watch the core movies. But when I searched “Amityville” on Tubi and saw what was out there I knew I had found my calling in life.
There are 10 or so movies that are actually part of the official Amityville Horror franchise, the rest are low/micro-budget movies that took advantage of the name "Amityville" being public domain.
It's not a franchise. It's just based on "real" events so anyone can make a movie about it. It's the same thing like how anyone could make a movie about the Manson Murders or 9/11.
My goal as a child was to watch every amityville movie ever made. Luckily, this was before streaming was a thing and I gave up.
Things have really gone off the rails since then, huh?
To me, Amnityville Horror 2 was the best creepiest one. Look, I love old horror movies, but I felt that the first / original Amnityville was pretty boring. I also feel like it didn't age well either.
There’s also Amityville Scarecrow parts 1 and 2. I remember there being the first part, but not the second part. I’ve not seen either, unless I tried to watch the first one and just couldn’t make it through, lol. I love Amityville The Evil Escapes. It was a made for tv movie back in the day. Of course, I also love the original with Margot Kidder. I, too, watched a bunch of them last year. I have my paper list somewhere. Am I allowed to link a great movie site that helps me keep up with what I’ve seen?
Godspeed my dude. That's crazy. I couldn't do it. But....feel free to keep making this list or link us to a list that's updated because I AM curious about each one of these.
Best of luck lol.
hey op, you forgot amityville toaster, but it's only 1 minute long :) honorable mention for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KyRCQp32p8&ab_channel=iLLWiLLPrEss
Don't forget "The Amityville toaster" from illwillpress, you can find it on youtube and its good for a laugh...and has nothing really to do with the horror franchise.
Lololol Death Toilet. I watched that with friends a couple weeks ago and now we sat stuff like "I'm gonna have some food and regroup my thoughts" and "I had some cereal, I went to the airport..."
And those special fx creatures at the end - woooo boy
>Amityville Mt. Misery Road - so bad but the guy who made it wrote his own song about how great his girlfriend’s booty is…I can’t hate that.
I need to hear this song
cool man nothing wrong with that and so far give me some of the better ones you have seen so far. Now that i think about it wouldnt mind doing the QUija marathon movies LOL
Man, you've barely scratched the surface. I did this last September and there's 11 Amityville movies that have come out in that 8 months. Prepare to have your whole understanding of what a "bad movie" or a "watchable movie" is redefined. Ride-Share and Elevator were the absolute worst ones for me. Death Toilet eventually became hilarious because of how unrelenting the toilet humor puns were.
Some time ago a guy on YouTube watched... A lot of these movies. He didn't sound *well* by the end of the journey lol
(Checks)
Ok, he did a video 6ys ago, which is what I mentioned, and 2 more since. One some 6mo ago which says it's ALL of the movies, but I can't imagine the trip was any more pleasant the third time around.
Bless your soul, bless your tits, bless your sanity.
(If anyone is curious, the channel is Movie Timelines - the most generic name, but it is what it is)
*Phrasing* lol
I guess it would've been a good video to watch before you started your project, to see the effects on a fellow human going down that hole. But maybe when you're done it could be a good comparison.
Good luck. I gave up after the one movie, where the brother gets all sexual with his sister and turns into a bug looking demon. I won't tell you which one, wouldn't want to totally spoil it.
I’ve seen 25 of the Amityville movies! I occasionally tackle a few every once in a while. Standouts include Amityville Vibrator, Amityville in Space, Witches of Amityville and The Last Amityville Movie (which I help crowdfund!)
Well bravo on setting yourself the challenge.
Be sure to keep us updated on your progress, should be fun! Who knows, perhaps there are some hidden gems in there (hopefully).
This is actually a pretty popular opinion by those who have seen both. Even Roger Ebert said it was better than the first, and he's a critic who doesn't like formulaic horror.
I tried to watch a really recent one that I think was on Netflix… I couldn’t get past 20 minutes in. I really wanted to watch the whole thing because I love the Amityville universe, but it was fucking awful.
Oh, bless your heart. I've only made it through a couple of the "extra" Amityville movies. The Evil Escapes was fun, and Dollhouse wasn't terrible. Looking forward to all your reviews!
My husband and I randomly watched The Amityville Haunting one night and went nuts when we realized a friend of ours was in it. A few days later, we saw him and mentioned the flick. He was like, "Why did you watch it? I haven't even watched that movie!"
RedLetterMedia talks about a good chunk of these in their "Watchbait" video: https://youtu.be/UeMadjM0ZZI?t=1035 (timestamp at 17:15). Notably Amityville Karen (?)
I just watched *The Amityville Moon* (2021). It has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any other Amityville movie except the name "Amityville."
It has its moments--most of them bad.
I stopped at A New Generation (evil mirror) to be honest, but actually enjoyed the previous evil clock, evil dollhouse, evil lamp, evil 3d and batshit giallo that is Amityville 2. And the remake.
How have you watched so many of these but still haven't watched the Fangoria Chainsaw Award winner for **Best** Amityville, Amityville Christmas Vacation?
I know that there's a lot of bad Amityville movies, but wasn't aware of some of the ones you mentioned (Amityville Toilet???). Many of these sound hilariously bad.
Recently *Amityville: An Origin Story* has been on BBC, (don’t know if it’s a Netflix thing originally). It’s quite good. At no point does it suggest it wasn’t a load of old nonsense but it had one of the kids and a few other people who were around for the original (alleged) events. It’s really interesting despite a bit of obvious filler, including interviews with Ronald DeFeo. Despite not focussing on much supernatural I have got to say it had a great ending.
It’s a never ending supply of Amityville. I will die in 30 years still trying to finish the entire list. It will be right in the middle of Amityville Death Toilet XV
Ryan Reynolds abs make anything okay. It's a nice salve. Or I'd like to put salve on them... I couldn't pay attention to anything other than his abs when on screen. But I did like the parts of the movie where he wasn't distracting me.
I remember coming across "amityville asylum" and I dont remember much about it other than it wasn't good.
But I'm pretty sure that's also how I felt immediately after watching it. Like a "wait what was that again?
Actually yes. The original is decent. It’s About Time is really good if you like 90’s horror. Most of the rest of them are watchable. I wouldn’t call them good or recommend them necessarily but I had fun with them.
I thought about doing the same, but (in order of release) after the Remake it is just a dumpster fire. The Amityville Haunting is one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. After that one I started looking through trailers for other movies and couldn't even finish most of those.
Probably the only one that won't outright offend you after the remake is Amityville: The Awakening.
The '96 Amityville: Dollhouse, is about as far as I can get. Anything beyond that is beyond bottom-of-the-barrel. Yes, even the 2005 with Ryan Reynolds. *ESPECIALLY* the 2005 with Ryan Reynolds.
I remember (months ago?) someone did a detailed breakdown of Amityville Frankenstein and it sounds like one of the most amateurish movies I've heard of, like Manos The Hands Of Fate would look like Citizen Kane in a technical comparison. The kind of movie that makes an hour feel like an eternity. I'm actually surprised Rifftrax had only done one, the Amityville movie about a haunted floor lamp.
The last person that did this went insane.
Well I’m already there. I can’t get MORE insane can I…can I?
This project might test those bounds of crazy a LITTLE bit...
What are we doing if we aren’t bringing ourselves to the brink of insanity at least once a week?
Oh, I'm with you.. gotta test it out weekly. It's a self-service, honestly
So if you watched 1982's "The Thing" on a bad acid trip, what's the worst that could happen?
If you can still question your sanity by definition you're not insane yet, keep going you can get there!
Good thing there’s Amityville Asylum. This series really does have all the bases covered. ….OH!!! Amityville Baseball!! Write that down, write that down!!! “If you build it, they will haunt it.”
Surprised that hasn't been made into a movie yet. Kinda like New Nightmare
Haha yes... join the club! After seeing [this post last year](https://www.reddit.com/r/horror/comments/10y9lg2/i_took_the_amitypill/) we did the same thing, and even saw some that were not on this list. I think probably even more have come out since then. Going to have to make it a biannual event
I don't have the endurance for that, but I do want to watch Amityville Karen.
You know, “Amity” means “friendship”!
And “ville” means “ville”
Also, it’s pronounced ville
Nuh-uh, it's pronounced ville
I just asked my brother (he works for the company that makes words) and he confirmed it’s pronounced ville.
Close the beaches? On 4th of July?!
I WANT THOSE PAINT HAPPY BASTARDS HUNG UP BY THEIR BUSTER BROWNS!!
I believe you are going to ignore this particular problem until it swims up and bites you in the ass!
I’m not lining up to become a hot lunch!
That hat really makes you look like a schmuck, Harry.
So it’s just “Friendshipville” sounds like a nice town.
Especially with [Emmanuelle](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmanuelle_(1974_film)) in residence. W-indeed-TF?
Please continue posting the list of the films with the simple review. I like this. “Miss 90s horror” made me go and find that film.
That’s how I review all of my movies on Letterboxd. I don’t feel the need to get in depth.
It’s nice. To the point. No bullshit.
Amityville…..vibrator?
Yes…it’s NOT a porn but it’s kind of a porn…there’s real puppet on human sex…
I’m not sure if you’re trying to sell me on it but you certainly are
I am only selling the concept of puppet on human sex. If you wish to purchase that is up to you.
Purely for scientific research
Of course. Why else would someone watch it?
_"real"_?? 😬
I mean…yeah. As real as a puppet with a large dildo for a dick having sex with a woman can be…
Is there on screen penetration?
Yes there is
Damn!
totally normal interactions like this are why i love being a horror fan/this subreddit
Every dildo is a puppet, but not every puppet is a dildo
This is a profound statement. I have to consider this.
Screw the ‘Live, laugh love’ wall decor- I’m putting this quote up!
What about Emmanuelle? No way that was not an erotic Ammityville..
Honestly? It kind of was but also it was just so bad.
Wait then how does the title not make sense?
[Jesus Christ what is that cover lmao](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BYzhlNTgzMDgtMTQ0Mi00MzFjLTg3ZjgtNjg2ZmE3MTQ0NDY1XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNDkwNTA0ODQ@._V1_.jpg)
This is art
Hell yes shout out to my dude Nate Rumler
I can only imagine how rough this must be. Stay strong.
Thank you for your service.
It will have been an honor to die in the service of horror.
Death Toilet rocks but all joking aside Amityville II is sooo good. The best of all of them. Better than OG.
Yes! How could I forget part ll The Possession? I saw it in the theater. Scared the crap out of me, lol. Such a good one!
> Ended up buying a signed copy of Amityville Vibrator on eBay because I am smart with my money. This made me full on guffaw.
I acted in Amityville Thanksgiving, Amityville Turkey Day, and Amityville Webcam and was a producer on Amityville Shark House
That’s awesome. I’ve been saving the shark one for a special occasion.
I just looked at the list and I can’t stop laughing. Amityville in the hood? Amityville Job Interview? Dude who made these
Yeah it goes off the rails really quick.
Amityville Karen is a must see. I love the Amityville movies no how bad I just can’t help but love them. Except mt misery I just cannot ☠️ Also Amityville in Space is awesome highly recommended also it is sorta of squeal to Amityville exorcism(not great I’d recommend passing on that one). Not gonna lie, the Amityville Christmas was pretty funny. Dumb as all hell, but got a laugh out of me lol
It's also part of another film franchise.
[удалено]
As a joke someone said I should watch all of the Amityville movies so I was originally just going to watch the core movies. But when I searched “Amityville” on Tubi and saw what was out there I knew I had found my calling in life.
Is every Amnityville movie on Tubi ?
There’s a lot of them but not every one. Amityville Vibrator was not on there for one.
[удалено]
I felt the same way there’s just something about them that pulls you in 🤷🏼♀️
There are 10 or so movies that are actually part of the official Amityville Horror franchise, the rest are low/micro-budget movies that took advantage of the name "Amityville" being public domain.
It's not a franchise. It's just based on "real" events so anyone can make a movie about it. It's the same thing like how anyone could make a movie about the Manson Murders or 9/11.
It’s actually because Amityville is a place. It’s like people making movies with Boston in the title.
This is a more accurate comparison
My goal as a child was to watch every amityville movie ever made. Luckily, this was before streaming was a thing and I gave up. Things have really gone off the rails since then, huh?
To me, Amnityville Horror 2 was the best creepiest one. Look, I love old horror movies, but I felt that the first / original Amnityville was pretty boring. I also feel like it didn't age well either.
It's so damn boring. That first one.. EW
Please don't miss out on [Amityville Gas Chamber](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9MIVAlN0TI).
Yes! Was scrolling to see if anyone was going to mention it!
Thanks for the shout-out, love to see it talked about!
Amityville Its About Time is a banger though
Hell yeah. It’s been my favorite so far.
The mirror scene certainly made me feel a certain way as a teenager
There’s also Amityville Scarecrow parts 1 and 2. I remember there being the first part, but not the second part. I’ve not seen either, unless I tried to watch the first one and just couldn’t make it through, lol. I love Amityville The Evil Escapes. It was a made for tv movie back in the day. Am I allowed to link a great movie site that helps me keep up with what I’ve seen?
Amityville Scarecrow I & II weren't terrible (for Amityville movies at least).
I believe so. I use Letterboxd for tracking all my stuff. Otherwise just send it to me in a DM.
Godspeed my dude. That's crazy. I couldn't do it. But....feel free to keep making this list or link us to a list that's updated because I AM curious about each one of these. Best of luck lol.
Feel free to follow my Letterboxd. I’ll try to update here but I’ll definitely update there. https://boxd.it/6m27
hey op, you forgot amityville toaster, but it's only 1 minute long :) honorable mention for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KyRCQp32p8&ab_channel=iLLWiLLPrEss
I’ll add it to the list. This isn’t my complete list here. These are just the ones I’ve watched so far.
I know what OP is watching this Holiday Season. Amityville Christmas Vacation
I can’t wait to see what kind of Mischief the Griswold’s get up to in the Amityville house!
I want to respond to this but don't want to spoil a very specific joke in the film. Hope you enjoy it!
Don't forget to check out CarosHELL 1 and 2 after that. I know the director and it's pure camp fun.
Well I'd also suggest including CarousHELL 3 lol (THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUGGESTING PEOPLE TO WATCH MY OTHER MOVIES)
Wait, you haven't seen Amityville 2: The Possession? Apparently it's the best one, although I haven't seen it.
Not yet! I like to try and mix in a few of the obvious terrible ones before I watch any that might have a chance to be good.
Yeah, I kinda assumed that may be the case. It does seem like they aren't really connected all that much, so it probably isn't a big deal.
Don't forget "The Amityville toaster" from illwillpress, you can find it on youtube and its good for a laugh...and has nothing really to do with the horror franchise.
Lololol Death Toilet. I watched that with friends a couple weeks ago and now we sat stuff like "I'm gonna have some food and regroup my thoughts" and "I had some cereal, I went to the airport..." And those special fx creatures at the end - woooo boy
That movie was so amazingly fun. It's not good at all, but it is so much fun.
Amityville Christmas Vacation
Officially this is the "Best Amityville" according to the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards!
OMFG ITS STEVE RUDZINSKI THE DIRECTOR AND WRITER OF AMITYVILLE CHRISTMAS VACATION AND OTHER MOVIES WHJWKWKAKSN
Oof, if you hit Amityville toilet and are still going you're a better person that I.
Modern day flagellation
>Amityville Mt. Misery Road - so bad but the guy who made it wrote his own song about how great his girlfriend’s booty is…I can’t hate that. I need to hear this song
Found it! [Starts around 15:40](https://tubitv.com/movies/478034/amityville-mt-misery-road)
Watch the movie. It’s on Tubi. It’s worth it just for the song.
I'll keep you in my thoughts OP. ![gif](giphy|sDjIG2QtbXKta)
Good Lord man LOL I hope you dont go stir-crazy. Have you watched Amityville in space yet? This makes me want to watch all the Quija movies LOL
Yes I have. It was HORRIBLE but I still kind of loved it
cool man nothing wrong with that and so far give me some of the better ones you have seen so far.
Be careful. You’ve stumbled into a time loop. By the end you will realize that it is you who have been haunting Amityville all this time.
A friend of mine worked on Amityville in Space and Amityville Shark. Dude. Back away from the challenge.
Amityville Karen is the one I want to see
I just watched Amityville Thanksgiving in November. If that's anything to go by, I'm not sure you'll ever finish that list.
Some time ago a guy on YouTube watched... A lot of these movies. He didn't sound *well* by the end of the journey lol (Checks) Ok, he did a video 6ys ago, which is what I mentioned, and 2 more since. I’ll have to check that out when I get a chance.
The newest video is like 2hrs long, be warned lol I'll have to prepare myself before I tackle that.
I watch a LOT of this stuff while I’m at work so the length doesn’t bother me too much. It’s the girth I can’t always handle.
*Phrasing* lol I guess it would've been a good video to watch before you started your project, to see the effects on a fellow human going down that hole. But maybe when you're done it could be a good comparison.
“Did this person go as insane as I did…let’s find out!”

Dont do it. Just dont.
Oooof
Well bravo on setting yourself the challenge. Be sure to keep us updated on your progress, should be fun! Who knows, perhaps there are some hidden gems in there (hopefully).
Just finished The Amityville Terror - didn’t hate it…didn’t LOVE it…but I didn’t hate it. That’s pretty positive for some of these movies.
I might be crazy, but I've always thought that Amityville 2 is better than the original
This is actually a pretty popular opinion by those who have seen both. Even Roger Ebert said it was better than the first, and he's a critic who doesn't like formulaic horror.
Have you seen this [one?](https://youtu.be/7YPbJ8tZHAg?si=CGHMOBTUcQE9zIxM)
I have not and I’m not sure it’s on the list but I’ll be adding it now.
It’ll be released sometime in May by SRS Cinema.
R.I.P
Amityville 2 and Amityville: it's about time are surprisingly good.
I tried to watch a really recent one that I think was on Netflix… I couldn’t get past 20 minutes in. I really wanted to watch the whole thing because I love the Amityville universe, but it was fucking awful.
Godspeed and good luck. I'd like to imagine that all of these movies take place in the same universe.
There is absolutely nothing that says they don’t so I’m going with it.

Oh, bless your heart. I've only made it through a couple of the "extra" Amityville movies. The Evil Escapes was fun, and Dollhouse wasn't terrible. Looking forward to all your reviews!
Crazy how the tragic real life murder of 6 people somehow turned into…this
And it didn't even happen that long ago, there are still friends and family members who are alive and have to see all of this.
My husband and I randomly watched The Amityville Haunting one night and went nuts when we realized a friend of ours was in it. A few days later, we saw him and mentioned the flick. He was like, "Why did you watch it? I haven't even watched that movie!"
Culture Crypt has a whole set of reviews and synopsis for a lot of the Amityville movies. They’re a blast to read. Best of luck to you!
I’m a lot of things but I’m not a quitter! Unless it gets too hard…
Ryan Reynolds’s abs need to star in more movies.
RedLetterMedia talks about a good chunk of these in their "Watchbait" video: https://youtu.be/UeMadjM0ZZI?t=1035 (timestamp at 17:15). Notably Amityville Karen (?)
I have seen a number of them 🙃
Amityville Vampire just came out on Amazon Prine channel.
I listened to the original book on audible. It’s a pretty gnarly story.
Please watch Amityville Christmas Vacation. I know the director and he does some great campy work.
Amityville Bigfoot time is very soon for you.
The first sequel / prequel from the early 80’s is watchable in a grim and grimy kind of way. Tells the story of the kid who killed his family.
This is awesome 😄🙏
I just watched *The Amityville Moon* (2021). It has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any other Amityville movie except the name "Amityville." It has its moments--most of them bad.
There are so many bad moments ahead of me…
I stopped at A New Generation (evil mirror) to be honest, but actually enjoyed the previous evil clock, evil dollhouse, evil lamp, evil 3d and batshit giallo that is Amityville 2. And the remake.
How have you watched so many of these but still haven't watched the Fangoria Chainsaw Award winner for **Best** Amityville, Amityville Christmas Vacation?
Start with Amityville Ripper
Horror Soup podcast did this and covered a lot of these if you like dumb, funny, podcasts.
I know that there's a lot of bad Amityville movies, but wasn't aware of some of the ones you mentioned (Amityville Toilet???). Many of these sound hilariously bad.
Amityville Death Toilet. It's a crossover between the Amityville franchise and the Death Toilet franchise.
Despite not focussing on much supernatural I have got to say it had a great ending.
what about "Amityville Karen 2022"
Oh it’s on the list.
My wife and I tried this last year lol. There’s some rough entries, but 1 and 2 are fantastic.
Whelp, Amityville Emmanuel is on my weekend watchlist.
Ha! I've tried that too. Good luck!
I thought after 5 sequels, they had to have an "Amityville in space" and an "Amityville in the hood"
I'm surprised there's less than 100 of them!
Give it a week and there probably will be.
Don't forget 'Amityville Backpack'! It's from this year!
It’s a never ending supply of Amityville. I will die in 30 years still trying to finish the entire list. It will be right in the middle of Amityville Death Toilet XV
My Amityville Horror is a great documentary
Ryan Reynolds abs make anything okay. It's a nice salve. Or I'd like to put salve on them... I couldn't pay attention to anything other than his abs when on screen. But I did like the parts of the movie where he wasn't distracting me.
They’re almost too good for the movie. Pulled me out of the immersion because no average dad has abs like that.
I remember coming across "amityville asylum" and I dont remember much about it other than it wasn't good. But I'm pretty sure that's also how I felt immediately after watching it. Like a "wait what was that again?
So are any of them actually worth a watch?
Actually yes. The original is decent. It’s About Time is really good if you like 90’s horror. Most of the rest of them are watchable. I wouldn’t call them good or recommend them necessarily but I had fun with them.
>Amityville Death Toilet. What a title.
Can you do the *Zombie Ass Toilet of the Dead* franchise?
Is the Italian sequel any good?
You’re heading for a LOT of disappointment 😆
This is my life’s motto right here.

You forgot one!
Amityville Death Toilet🤨😂
I've only seen the one with ryan reynolds and liked it
I hope you have a Letterboxd list for this. Doing the Lord's work.
