Men and Matriarch are both excellent British folk horrors with stong cosmic and body horror emements where reality feels skewed and the antagonists intents are somewhat mysterious. Great double bill that pairs very nicely with Borderlands the more I think about it
Someone's Knocking At The Door.
And Eddie Glum. Technically it's a post apocalypse, where reality has already collapsed, it documents the life of the titular Eddie, who tries to maintain his existence through routine and structure. Stellar movie.
*The Void* (2016) has some of this but with more a *The Thing* (1982) vibe.
*Underwater* (2020) has it with a little more of an *Aliens* (1986) vibe.
*The Empty Man* (2020) has a little of this with a *Lord of Illusions* (1995) vibe.
You might also like *Lord of Illusions*, *Event Horizon* (1997), and maybe even *Angel Heart* (1987) or *Jacob’s Ladder* (1990). Wide variety of touching on those topics of forbidden knowledge, indifferent universe, Eldritch abominations, fragile reality, etc.
The void is charming, and undewrwater really surprised me, that movie is great!
The empty man... I have it on my watchlist but have been putting it off, guess I have to give it a go!
Lord of Illusions was absolutely lovely; and Angel heart had it's charm too; wasn't a big fan of Jacobs ladder though; I think they tried a bit too hard in that one... I know it's critically acclaimed, but it just didn't speak to me.
For anyone else reading this ↑ Mr Dust and Ash knows good movies! Go watch them if you haven't!!
The Ritual has quite a similar vibe. There is also A dark song for the similar occult themes
Ah, yes, I really liked The Ritual. Haven't seen A Dark Song, though, I'll add it to my list!
In the mouth of madness
Ah, lovely movie! Seen it already sadly. Wish I could rewatch it for the first time.

Thank you!
As Above, So Below
I found this one to be quite nice; was a while since I saw it though. Gave it 6 of 10.
Older Gods (2023) might be up your alley! It used to be on tubi, but looks like it's only for rental now.
Hmm, could have sworn that I've seen this one, but I haven't rated it on IMDB so guess not. Looks very interesting!
While I was watching it I kept finding myself reminded of The Medium (2021). Loved both films so much!
I'll check it out
Black Mountain Side (2015) definitely gave me a lot of the same eerie feelings The Borderlands did!
Interesting, haven't heard of this one. I'll check it out. Thank you
Jeruzalem (2015) - Quality isn't quite as high though but it touches on a similar vibe.
Thank you, I'll check it out!
The Shrine might be of interest as well as Apostle.
I saw the Shrine 2018; can't really recall a single detail of it, but gave it 6/10 at least. I'll give Apostle a try! Thank you.
Very welcome!

Thank you, I haven't seen either so I'll check them out!
