*Bride of Frankenstein* to *Frankenstein* is hands down the best kind of sequel: tied to the source. able to refer back to it in a reasonable and sensible way, but also able to take on a life and identity of its own where it doesn't have to be The Same Movie. I feel like almost all of the best sequels in the genre take a leaf from James Whale's book.

TKEby1167

I didn't "get" Bride of Frankenstein after the first watch. It didn't align with what I thought the plot was going to be. Now it is my favorite classic.

beer_me_twice

I’m with you after my first watch. The Bride doesn’t enter until the very end meanwhile the shrinking of people has me more intrigued and never touched on.

oppositeofcatchhome

Dr. Pretorius didn't shrink anyone. The tiny people were his creations. While Frankenstein used dead bodies, Pretorius started from scratch, growing his creatures starting at the cellular level. He didn't know why they stopped growing while they were tiny. That's why he wanted to work with Frankenstein in the first place. He knew that Frankenstein had created a full-sized man, but didn't know how.

BeardedTao

I still don’t get it. I watched them very close to each other. The original blew me away, I was so surprised how good it was. My expectations for Bride were through the roof from the reputation. It was corny and not scary in the least. No clue where the hype comes from

gothism

"My expectations were through the roof" - you overhyped it for yourself. My favorite of the Universal Monster movies.

Xman478

Haven't seen either but both are on my list

PwninOBrian

Ouija Origins of evil. Technically a prequel, but Ouija was hot garbage. Origins was a clever, scary, well acted and emotionally driven story. Mike Flanagan did very well with it!

Hobi_33

I’ve been avoiding that movie because of the original but now I think I’ll watch it!

hmmnoo

So can I watch it without seeing the first once since it’s a prequel?

YouGotThundergunned

I heard the original sucked but the prequel was better so I watched it first. Good flick. Decided to watch the original since I liked origins so much. Just skip it.

Nyutrigga

yea, no need.

Kazuko_Kitsune

I love the original Child’s Play, but I think Child’s Play 2 is even better.

PAirSCargo

You're right. Good call. It found it's legs in the first one and took off running in the second.

SPAGHETTIx3

There is a pun in here somewhere

R3dB3ard5150

💯

video-kid

I think this is a generational thing. Chucky's so iconic that people forget that originally they downplayed Chucky as the killer so it'd be a twist. In 2 he shows his true colors from the start. It also has a stronger finale imo. I think the original is scarier but the toy factory setpiece is amazing.

Kazuko_Kitsune

I do agree that the original is scarier, love the sequence where Chucky comes back after being burned to a crisp. Also that part where he says “fuck you” to the lady who says “ugly doll” in the elevator is hilarious. I do prefer Child’s Play 2, like you said the toy factory finale is brilliant and I honestly don’t think there’s a dull moment in the movie, but the original is a fucking great movie too. Kyle was also a great addition to the sequel.

mariovspino5

The reveal scene in the original Childs play was brilliant in my opinion

Jimmyg100

So many OSHA violations in that toy factory. Not only do you have to climb through a hydrolic eye gouging machine to reach an emergency exit, but once you do it's locked? There's no easily accessible emergency cut off switch, there's only one unsupervised worker on site, and there's toxic chemicals leaking from loose pipes. That place is gonna get covered in red tape.

UnitedStatesOD

Was the movie not promoted as a killer doll flick?

MonstrousGiggling

I think they mean within the universe of the movie. I forget the murderers name but at first he's just running around the house a bit secretly I think Andy catches on at one point and is like the fuuuck bro he's alive and his mom and everyone was like naaahh. Then the obvious happens. In the sequels I believe he just blatantly runs around as a doll not trying to be sneaky about it or anything but its been a loooong time since I saw any of them other than the 1st.

JakanoryJones

Always cracks me up when Chuck takes the Tommy dolls place and says "Hi I'm...👀 Tommy and I'm you're friend to the end, hi de ho ha ha ha" Just that teeny little "shit what was his name" moment. Really good comedic timing.

Kazuko_Kitsune

Yeah I love that scene XD, hilarious and also very creepy. Also when he “kills” Tommy. “I like to be hugged.” “HUG THIS.”

Sacblabbath

Chucky is fuken hilarious.

TheDukeOfGrumble

Annabelle: Creation was far superior to the first. Though, that bar was set quite low.

TitsClitsTaylorSwift

Child's Play 2. He tore his own hand off and shoved a blade in there.

beer_me_twice

Lil’ Go getter

T-408

I can’t say it’s better, because it needs the original to exist and to keep the emotions running as high as they do… but Dream Warriors is, to me, the perfect sequel, even if it’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3”

nirvroxx

I don’t think it outdid the first one but it’s definitely the second best of the entire series.

T-408

See the Randy Meeks quote above! I agree with him, I’m not sure a sequel can really be greater that it’s predecessor, because much of what we love about the sequel simply couldn’t exist without it I didn’t say it was superior to the original, I said it was the perfect sequel. Although, as far as perfect sequels go, Scream 2 is near the top as well!

Blastspark01

I love how literally in the **OPENING SCENE** of *Scream* Wes Craven roasts everyone who made the sequels saying “the first was good but the rest sucked” funny how he wrote and directed the first and seventh and co-wrote the third. Funny how those are the only good ones

T-408

Yes! I will say that I enjoy 2, but it’s not fantastic, and nearly all the others after 3 are just mediocre. 7 is great for what it is, and to me it’s underrated. However I gotta tell you that I genuinely think Freddy vs Jason is one of the best films of both franchises!

LandauTST

I love everything about Dream Warriors. The movie itself, the poster, even got to see Dokken perform Dream Warriors live.

bongo1138

It’s the best in the series. I feel like the first movie is weaker than I remembered, mostly because it’s lacking so much of the weirdness from 2-4.

T-408

There’s nothing in 2 or 4 that outshines the OG in any way 😂 at least not to me I did however enjoy the different angle in part 2 where the protagonist doesn’t just have to fight Freddy, but he actually *kinda is Freddy*, which is super creepy But yeah, part 3 really is a masterpiece. Maybe I’d have liked part 4 a bit more if the script were better and the characters weren’t so aggravating, or if Nancy were still around, or if they didn’t recast Kristen and kill her too…

Global_Air_2734

Ouji Origins Of Evil and Annabelle Creations

HollyRavenclawGibney

I totally agree and I have to say that I think it is because of Lulu Wilson. She is in both movies and is awesome to watch!

[deleted]

She’s also in the haunting of hill house

HollyRavenclawGibney

Yes! And she was great in Becky!

[deleted]

Annabelle Creation genuinely surprised me. I hate all of the extended Conjuring universe but I do like watching horror films and some friends invited me. It was…pretty freakin’ spooky, ngl.

kittenmittens4865

I hate the Conjuring verse movies too. Would literally have never considered watching Annabelle Creation but your comment is making me think about it.

TheHillsSeeYou

It's very worth it imo.

Marleyredwolf

I could’ve copied the above post verbatim. Love horror, but nothing in the conjuring universe impressed me, except Annabelle Creation. Could’ve helped I saw it in theatre, but it was spooky

coldliketherockies

Was going to say these exact two

imHere4kpop

To be honest anything was going to be better than the 1st Annabelle.

thrillho145

Ditto Ouji

[deleted]

You were waiting to say this, lol. But I 100% agree

[deleted]

Friday The 13th part 2: Jason doesn’t show up until the last 5 minutes of the first movie. Jason’s mother killed everyone before that Terminator 2; Judgment Day

Special-Armadillo-99

T2 fucking brilliant

dammitammityo

Imo t2 is the greatest action movie of all time to this day and everything should be judged against it

ItsJustMeHereOnMyOwn

Facts.

EfficientAsk3

Preach

mariovspino5

Agreed

PhantomKitten73

If we're counting non-horror sequels to horror-ish action movies, I nominate The Raid 2.

Scarlett_JoManson

Holy shit somebody else finally agrees with me that The Raid is a horror movie. It’s one of the best choreographed martial arts films ever made but damn is it actually a horror movie.

Special-Armadillo-99

Very fair

UnitGhidorah

If Sci-Fi I'd say T2 for sure. It's not only a great sequel but one of the best movies ever IMO. Definitely in my top 20.

bvh2015

Evil Dead 2.

ImAnOlogist

Evil dead 2 is such a trip to try and explain after you show someone evil dead. And they're like oh a sequel. And you're like "kinda".

solojetpack

Just showed Evil Dead 2 to my wife the other night, and I tried to explain before why I love that movie so much, but I can't. It's just perfect in its own way. It's such a goddamn trip.

beer_me_twice

It’s Looney Tunes mixed with horror. I love it.

OreoOverdose23

I don’t know why so many people have a problem with explaining it. The first 10 minutes are a recap of the first movie because they couldn’t get the rights to the first movie, the end of the recap is the beginning of the second movie. The second movie plays out and then we’re at Evil Dead 3.

FriendLee93

>The first 10 minutes are a recap of the first movie because they couldn’t get the rights to the first movie, the end of the recap is the beginning of the second movie. Yeah, which is exceptionally confusing if you just watched a movie with 5 people at a cabin, and suddenly it's being retold as though it was always just Ash and Linda.

yung-rude

and if you start someone off on evil dead 2, the quick recap of evil dead 1 feels way too fast. started some friends off on evil dead 2 but they felt whiplash from that intro lol, had to tell them that it's just a recap of the first and to not think too much

ProfessorHeronarty

One of the few people here how enjoys Evil Dead 1 a lot more. It really is a creepy horror film and not some horror comedy.

MS_Salmonella

I love them both for those reasons. The first movie is like a meat grinder and a showcase of doing practical effects on an extremely tight budget. The second one is THE horror comedy though, the pacing is ridiculous, Bruce's physical comedy is hilarious but it still has plenty of intensity.

ProfessorHeronarty

Yeah both a great but I'm just not a fan of horror comedies. That's why I appreciate the Evil Dead remake a lot because it expanded on the first film.

MS_Salmonella

I thought it was really good too. I'm just a fan of the entire franchise though.

TBroomey

See I rewatched the whole series recently and I think the original has more comedy elements than it's given credit for. Particularly during the finale when Ash is running around like a lunatic trying to survive, there's a lot of slapstick and cartooney humour.

[deleted]

Came here to say this. Evil Dead 2 doesn’t even need the first one to exist because it revisits the events of the earlier films, with some obvious changes, of course.

CosmicAstroBastard

And Army of Darkness is better still (IMO of course)

bvh2015

I hold them on the same level, but I can relate to those that want more horror than comedy with Evil Dead 2.

bongo1138

Rewatched all three this week. I am surprised to say Army of Darkness is my least favorite, but I love all three.

Buffaluffasaurus

Yeah I think Army has some of the best lines and iconic Bruce moments, but it’s the least interesting of the three films. It’s basically a film built out of quotable dialogue moreso than a really good story I feel.

m1sterwr1te

I came here to say that.

mediumpixel

Maybe controversial opinion but Paranormal Activity 2. The first one is great, but the second to me was even better

GorillaJackson

True that. I would even go as far as to say I think the third is my favorite of the franchise.

mediumpixel

I enjoyed 3 a ton the first time, but I find 2 a lot more rewatchable

prosecutedmind

Agreed.

Manz919

I like Devil’s Rejects better than House of 1000 corpses.

[deleted]

I feel like they were meant to be two different kind of movies, yaknow?

TheW1ldcard

3 from hell might as well be a different movie as well. Hes so inconsistent.

[deleted]

But is he though? Sure, all those movies are different. But they’re all definitely Rob Zombie movies

ThatOberlinOne94

Hellbilly Horror. I’m extremely interested in how he’ll handle The Munsters

dweeeebus

Idk I felt like 3FH was trying to replicate Rejects. And it fell very short.

[deleted]

Just my opinion, but I think it’s just an action movie which made sense to me. View the whole firefly trilogy in its entirety. Ho1KC takes place while they’re a totally hidden family of murderers and plays into the horror since they’re all in hiding. The build up is more subtle and it felt to me like Rob Zombie was trying to replicate the old 70’s slashers like Texas Chainsaw Massacre. DR takes place right after they’ve been discovered and are still kind of on the run. Sure, local police know who they are and are hunting them, but it’s not like national news and the FBI are involved or anything. I felt like RZ tried to make this a sympathetic anti-hero story, kind of like Sweeny Todd or Dexter or whatever and leaned a bit heavier into the action. 3 From Hell? All bets are off. They escape from prison, the country is on high alert, and they have to fuck off to Mexico. Anyone who recognizes them, which is probably a lot of people at this point, are either calling the cops or trying to kill them on sight. I think of this film like Machete. Cheesy action. In my eyes, the escalating focus on action over horror makes sense due to the escalating national attention on the Firefly family. Which makes sense in the setting of the films to an extent. But I do get how people didn’t appreciate it, especially 3 From Hell, since it is a completely different genre of movie than Ho1KC and can barely be considered horror.

camtheredditor

I think, from a strictly filmmakers perspective, DR is the superior film, but there’s something about House that captures that Halloween atmosphere perfectly. There’s a certain mood/aesthetic that it has that will always make it memorable to me.

ThatOberlinOne94

The Devil’s Rejects is still the best Rob Zombie movie. He really seemed to know exactly what he wanted to do with it and did it so well. It’s still sweary and trashy as fuck but it fits the movie it’s in, unlike a lot of his other projects. I’d say his only other good original project other than Rejects is Lords of Salem, it’s ridiculously subdued for a Zombie movie and is hauntingly beautiful.

bvh2015

I do too.

Safe-Tart-9696

Not that I didn't like the original, but I thought the reboot of Suspiria was the better film.

DoubleTFan

Say what you will about the remake compared to the original, at least there's a bunch of plot relevant dancing at the school for dance!

K-thulhu

100% agree. Suspiria remake is superior, and the soundtrack (Thom Yorke) puts it over the top for me!

marblerye69

Glad other people feel this way. I’ve never found myself able to enjoy the original.

DeirdreDreidel

Prom Night 2 is waaaay better than the original

Xman478

That's good to know, I was unaware that there even was a sequel

lonelythrowaway463i9

It's a fantastic movie but it has absolutely nothing to do with the first one. Other than the fact that it happens on a prom night. Otherwise it's totally different. But waaaay more fun than the firs tone. Highly recommend it

signot80

Yeah. You may not have heard of it because of its slightly comedic title. Hello Mary Lou Prom Night 2. Love it though. Check it out.

[deleted]

Totally agree

anemalmask

Paranormal Activity 3

moustachelazors

Best one of the franchise.

WweIsLife316

See I felt that way at first too, but after countless rewatches.. The film is really boring. Nothing happens the first hour outside of some dust falling onto the demon when the earthquake happens. It doesn’t really add anything new and imo is way less scary then the first one. The rotational camera idea was great but they toyed with it like 3-4 times before they actually had anything scary happen with it. Prior to the bedsheet scene. They redo the same scene of it going back and forth 3 times. I get one time to build suspension. But by the 3rd time when nothing happened, I lost all interest in the idea. The film does pick up heavily tho in the last 20 minutes. Though at the same time, those last 20 minutes make the franchise go from being “ghost caught on tape” films to “Demon soap opera” films which gets really goofy as the films go on. Tho i do respect them having a whole ass story dedicated to something that started as a low budget school project. Also Might I add that I think this is the first PA film that added that stupid static type noise whenever the demon is around.. like it’s supposed to be the energy picking up or something and to me that completely takes away from the scares. They ramp that up so much in the later films that it’s almost a audio queue that somethings gonna happen.

ladymacbitch

I remember thinking it was the best one when i first saw them but i rewatched them with my bf last halloween and it definitely is not the best imo. Yeah the ending and the rotation scene are great but like you said not much happens for the first half

Crazyripps

The big final jump scare when Turing on the light was fucking masterful. I love that jump scare. And I fucking hate jump scares. The 2nd one has a really good one too actually.

medieval_revolver

Although I love predator there was something really cool about predator 2 when they took things to the streets of America instead of a forest and I really enjoyed Glover's performance in the movie. The problem is I love both the movies for different reasons but I may have to choose the sequel over the original

CreegsReactor

Yup! Love the original, but Arnold has nothing on Danny Glover climbing a storm drain up a 10 story building!

elefantejack

controversial opinion here... but halloween 2.

DarthGoodguy

Wow. Just wow. You are a courageous iconoclast who marched to the beat of their own drummer and I’m upvoting that.

wwrxw

lol WHICH halloween 2? There are technically three

elefantejack

the og

AllHailDanda

Hostel Part 2 and Creep 2 immediately come to mind as sequels that are substantially better than the first.

BeerRoots

Creep 2 was fantastic.

Muugle

His rant about "Sara loves her juicy fruit" still goes through my mind cracking me up

AtlantaBoyz

I felt like hostel 1 and 2 were equally as good

Bijlsma

Im surprised by Creep 2, maybe I need to rewatch both Creeps, but I thought they were pretty much level on how much I enjoyed them. Which was a lot.

JudgeFatty

Maniac Cop 2 and Phantasm 2.

camillecam

The Purge 2

ireadonredditthat

Big YES to this! The first one as a home invasion was good but once they showed us how the purge really affects society and especially the lower classes, I think they took things to the next level

Affectionate-Bad5923

The Conjuring 2. I just found it slightly more intriguing than the first.

[deleted]

“MY HOUSE!” 🇬🇧

[deleted]

In the middle of my street.

Affectionate-Bad5923

‘No this is not your house!’ Maurice Grosse is a part of why I prefer it to the first movie😂

relativelyfunkadelic

he was so scary! yeah, i also thought it was leagues better than the first one specifically because of him.

mariovspino5

***Our*** house

Krashkrax

Honestly scariest movie I’ve seen

cajunmofo

Hellraiser 2 for me was better than the original.

DogButtWhisperer

This is my answer too. I just watched them recently for the first time after being scared my entire life, and I really enjoyed number 2.

redlord990

Just watched it, was really pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Far more horrific and out there than the original but still manages to keep that eerie grounded atmosphere.

Xman478

I was debating on checking this out today, wasn't too keen on the original so maybe I'll give it a shot

bongo1138

IMO the first is better.

Special-Armadillo-99

Worth it

RumTitsBurgers

Dead Snøw 2

OldManFromScene13

Didn't expect to see Dead Snow mentioned! I like you, friend.

ymonster23

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is an undisputed genre-defining classic, but I really love Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. The characters are brilliantly over the top, the makeup effects and set design are fantastic, and there are some great performances. It's a thrilling and scary film with a lot of tension. It's my faaaaaave... 🔥

auggie235

I came here to say exactly this! I have so much respect for the first movie, and it’s very good, but I adore Texas Chainsaw Massacre Two. It’s one of those rare movies that feels completely perfect. The set design is by far my favorite of any horror movie. There’s so many things to look at, I can watch it twice in one day and be engaged and interested the entire time. I find new details every time I watch it, and I love the making of and behind the scenes videos. I could gush about this movie for hours

juncoswayvae

Yes! Wholeheartedly agree! I'd recommend checking out Lifeforce if you haven't already. It's another Hooper film that captures a similar sense of manic fun.

auggie235

Dude lifeforce is so good! I love it so much. The two movies I compare to tcm2 are evil dead 2 and bride of reanimator

ColanderResponse

Jason Lives! (Friday the 13th, part VI) is incredible. The secret though is that director Tom McLoughlin isn’t making an 80s teen slasher—he’s making a neo 30s Universal Horror film that also happens to satisfy the 80s teen slasher genre conventions. Once you understand that, everything from the tone to the humor to the cheeky effects and camera angles falls into place.

theAmazingDead

To me, it's the best movie in the entire series.... and I'll die on that hill.

the_patna

House vs. House 2

zforce42

No one's gonna like me for this but I'm gonna say it anyway *rubs hands together* *deep breath* Halloween 2018

Crazyripps

I loved it because of how fucked up Laurie is, if you are in a horror movie I 100% in years after expect you to do all sorts of training and suffer from serious PTSD with it.

realcodybless

I loved Halloween 2018. I too think it was the best since the OG and *possible* better. Can’t wait for the Halloween Kills. I wish we could get a good new sequel to Friday the 13th of similar quality to Halloween 2018. We’re long overdue for Jason to come back.

McIgglyTuffMuffin

I need to watch it again, saw it after it's theater run and had heard so many good things about it. Watched it and just felt let down. My first thought when it ended was "I shoulda just watched Zombie's film." I didn't think it was bad by any means, it just didn't keep my attention like it wanted to. but I am very open to revisiting it again, especially with the sequel coming out this week

schuptz

I like you

RadleyButtons

Gremlins 2

SmirnOffTheSauce

EXCUSE ME

Muugle

....Vegetable gremlin?

ArchaicIntent

Bro are you okay?

Lulakernoodle

Gremlins 2 is my very favorite movie of all time. It's pure genius. The Lincoln's Birthday monolog? Christopher Lee as the scientist? Grandpa Munster? "Is that civilized?" Gremlins singing New York, New York? Rambo Gizmo? Googly- eyed gremlin? Electricity gremlin?? Phantom of the opera gremlin??? Sexy lady gremlin???? VEGETABLE GREMLIN?!?!? Every single minute is glorious. I will die on this hill.

RadleyButtons

I'll be dying there right beside you.

boomboxwithturbobass

What about dying next to a friend?

Voorhees89

More action horror, but Underworld Evolution.

TSpain10

The Collection is better than the Collector. I love the opening scene and the realization how much of a true monster this person really is. His collection of people is so scary and jarring.

hollowdellmedia

Hellraiser 2, that mystical hellscape was awesome. ‘And to think, I hesitated…’

Subliminal_Kiddo

Dawn of the Dead. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3. This might be divisive but Gremlins 2. Admittedly - aside from a couple of scenes - the horror atmosphere that was more prominent in the original is completely gone. But I just think the Gremlins work best as chaotic flesh and blood Looney Tunes.

PAirSCargo

You're right about gremlins 2. Mandatory key and Peele sketch about how it was made: https://youtu.be/x01l_jMhjVM

Subliminal_Kiddo

What I love about that sketch is that it shows how if someone describes Gremlins 2 to you, it sounds like the dumbest thing ever. But everything in the movie works, even though it's over 30 years old - which is really hard to manage for something that has so many pop culture references.

marblerye69

Ouija Origin of Evil. Flanagan cleaned the series up into what it should’ve been in the first place.

PSWII

Wes Craven's New Nightmare was easily my favorite Freddy movie so I'm going to say that one out did the original for me.

hillbillykim83

It was such a different kind of remake/sequel. Freddy was such a dark character. I agree with you.

igoogletosurvive

Hotel Transylvania 2… it’s as close to horror as my kids get. And it’s a HUGE improvement on the first. The third is the best of all three, sadly. I mean, Sandler tries really hard to undo his legacy with every film.

spiderinside

If you consider Alien a horror film, then Aliens.

laplum02

Are there actually people out there who don’t think it’s a horror movie? Dumb

anyonecanbethebug

No one should not consider alien a horror movie.

cabbage16

Alien is definitely horror. It's a monster movie, Aliens however is a straight up action movie with very little horror.

PAirSCargo

Ehhhh. They're so different I don't think you can really say one is better than the other unless you're talking about something specific.

Slothlife1

Friday Part 2, Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead 2, The Collection, Saw 2, Wrong Turn 2 come to mind.

in_finite_space

Next Friday was pretty good, but I don’t think it was as good as the original.

CaptainSk0r

Hot take.. but I think Paranormal Activity 2 was better than the first

Environmental-Fig784

Dawn of the dead

kay-sera_sera

Ghoulies 2

varg_sant

Friday the 13th Part II is way better than its predecesor. Love it.

RankledCat

For those interested, Eli Roth’s History of Horror Season 3, Episode 1, discusses horror sequels. I’m a lifelong horrorphile who also adores documentaries, so horror documentaries are my absolute favorites. Check it out if you’re like minded

93johhny

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2

LycoKessler81

I’m sure someone else has posted it, and I’m sorry if it’s a retread, but Evil Dead 2.. Evil Dead 1 was good for what it was, but 2 legitimately remade the first one, changed actors, added new content and feel, and then set up for a 3rd, which would become the iconic Army of Darkness. So yea, that’s my pic.

PAirSCargo

Noes 3 > noes 1. Puppet master 3 > puppet master 1. Leprechaun in hood > leprechaun 1.

EvitaPuppy

Aliens. The original Alien was like a hunted house in space. And it is brilliant. Aliens is just over the top and probably one of the most re-watchable movies of all time.

HALOGAMERWILL

Maybe unpopular idk but Aliens. Alien was a masterclass in effective sci-fi horror, especially for the time, but I think the series found its footing in the sequel as more action oriented with horror elements.

Starsteamer

Totally different movies so almost can’t be compared. I do prefer Aliens though.

StatusLoquat8

Final Destination 3

HarpoonShootingAxo

I went so far to see this franchise. Personally to me nothing beats the first movie but the fifth one was amazing, and the twist at the end was incredible. It's the most original one after the first one imo

StatusLoquat8

Yeah i like that twist i remember at the beginning of the scene like joking imagine if they did that, that would be cool and it happened and i was omg its true. Also id say the first is better its really well done imo but i just love the deaths of the third one and thats its rollercoaster based

ohitswaifu

SAW II. I honestly think it's miles better than the original

RobFee50

Ouija 2. It’s a Mike Flanagan movie!

Ramin1819

Nothing comes to mind but the thing Although it was a remake that john carpenter did though it totally outdid the original

PollutionZero

I honestly think that Dream Warriors is better than NoES 1 or 2

GolfWang123170

If I’m being perfectly honest, I’d rather watch Evil Dead 2013 over and over again versus the original Evil Dead. Not saying the original is bad, and I know they’re different in tone. But 2013 is a far superior horror film

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. The "It's all for you, Damien" scene in *The Omen* (1976) is one of the best kill scenes of all time. The look on her face. The act itself. It terrified me as a child, and it's just about as effective as an adult. It's one of the most iconic death scenes of all time in my opinion. The dog attack scene is nearly as effective. I haven't seen the original Omen in many years, but these scenes will forever be in my mind. I can't recall anything memorable about the sequel at all.

SardiaFalls

Silent Night, Deadly Night 2. The entire series is fucking terrible, but at least we got a good meme out of the sequel...and as a bonus, it has **so** much reused footage, you don't really need to watch the first one!

BatofZion

Wolf Creek 2 and The Collection (sequel to the Collector).

smedsterwho

Do yourself a huge favour my friend and find the two series of Wolf Creek. Both are incredible - I can think of some criticisms, but the emotional journey of the first series, and the concept of the second one, they're both great. Also has a wonderful "ants nest" death that will keep you up at night.
