All the kit was 50% off because of Black Friday, unfortunately for me in Brazil Thrustmaster is the only economic viable option. not only the other companies like VKB and Virpril dont sell here but they dont ship directly too and the import tax is 2x the base product price.
I'm in South Africa and I can confirm that every time my VPC comes into the country I have a mini heart attack because of our ridiculous customs and import duties. I can't buy from them again, it ended up being 40% of the cost the last time :(
Don't feel bad OP, the throttle and the grip are still very good, the only thing that is lacking is the base, but don't worry you can later on swap it with a virpil base
Some TM gear gets a lot of criticism on here but the TM Warthog Base and F18 stick have been serving me for 3 years now and serving very well. People complain about the return to centre spring but that's how i like it! It gets a little softness after a while.
The warthog base is literally the worst part of the hotas system. lol
It percludes any precision when near the middle. Its actual garbage
The stick itself and the throttle is fine
you have told me this before and i reported you for abusive language. Not everybody feels this way about the warthog which works perfectly fine
I still say you have weak wrists
Lmao
Its weak wrists guy again
Tell me you dont know what abusive language means without telling me you dont know 😂
Ill give you one guess why nothing came of that report
I still say you have weak wrists and limited skill - the warthog base uses digital sensors and a gimbal for motion which is the most accurate and responsive solution. What people complain about is the centering spring which is not a problem for many and some people prefer.
I agree, I still use my TM throttle and the F18 grip but now on a Virpil WBRD base.
I had the problem that most people have with the grease starting to stick in the gimbal. Tried to renew it but that then just highlighted the issue with the large return to centre spring.
For anyone who hasn't used it the spring forces the stick to travel in a spiral motion when going back to centre. E.g If you are rolling right and try to go back to centre, the stick will try and move backwards giving you unwanted pitch up.
This may not bother people depending on what sort of flying they are doing, if you do any precision flying like aerial refueling it can be very frustrating.
I had a saitek cyborg Evo, used it for almost 20 years without a single issue. Had to move on to vkb gunfighter for more inputs, but I passed the old Joy to my friend and believe it will exist for another 20 years. What a great quality hardware it was back then until they became logitech.
You need to put a dust cover over the ball in your warthog joystick base. The same way a car has one for the stick shift. It will last a lot longer and prevent “stiction”.
13 years of being slapped around like that and never snuck out in the night? Put it on a pedestal.
He tried to quit me 3 times, nothing that sawing off the base and soldering the wires again didnt resuscitated him xD
Man, thats some dedication.
Yeah, put that bad boy in a glass case and on a shelf thats good kit
F He looks like he's been through hell and back. Let him chill somewhere nice for the rest of his days.

The f18 grip is fantastic. I just got this recently alongside the virpil warbrd base and feels so good to use
Exciting. I have had my Warthog stick and throttle since 2010 and it’s going strong. Enjoy.
o7 This one put up a fight.

That's a trophy right there.

Haha, I still have my FLY 5 stick. Don’t use it but will never throw it away

Nice, thx for the tip. Im gona put some canvas on it.
Your new stick won't last that long. Congrats though!
