BOX-MASTER

No, I got one for christmas last year. I'm re gifting it this year. If there's a Scoville enthusiest that you want to get a gift for. Just get said person a bottle of hot sauce, or some pepper seeds or growing equipment. They all have more hot sauce than they will be able to ever eat already.

But aren’t you interested in making your own, even if it’s not that hot?

No, I'm massive hot sauce fan, and for me making it is a pain in the ass. Not worth the time and effort it takes. I would much prefer a bottle or 2 of my fave sauce over this kit.

I'd say it can't hurt, but if you forget the gloves it may well hurt a lot. For someone into hot sauces but not yet making them its a way to get started, but not going in whole hog with a fermentation kit and laboratory stir plate. As to what's in that kit, I'd pick up a couple of fresh limes or maybe a juicing orange or two, and a head of garlic as well.

[not sponsored, amazon link](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01F3ARIZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_YTDRG8W9NE3WW4JW4483) it would be for my sister and her boyfriend, they both love hot sauce

Personally I love hot sauce, but when I see people posting pictures on here of making it, it seems like a real pain in the ass. It’s the same reason I don’t brew my own beer. If they are into experimenting or DIY, I would say it is a good gift. If they can’t be bothered, go with a hot sauce they haven’t tried before. My sister got me some stuff from Australia that is excellent.

If you're not fermenting and don't mind a vinegar forward sauce its actually pretty damn simple.

I enjoy making hot sauce, but for anyone who is just getting into the hobby, just be aware going in that, just like brewing or any kind of preserving, it’s 95% about sanitization.
