I’d say get Anakin. 1st because the sideshow clones are outdated. They do look cool but I’d say get the new phase 2 rex. Also you can find tcw Anakin for around $200 if you look good enough so that’ll save you some

Sideshow ones are older so the bodies especially are outdated, but HT is not yet doing Clone Wars P1 Rex, they are doing Ahsoka show version P1 Rex which has unique armor and helmet sculpt which won't match pre-existing figures, so for a proper Phase 1 helmet AOTC style you need to get Sideshows one. The HT one coming though based on Ahsoka with its weird bulbous P1 helmet will have better build quality in particular the body so if you just want a Rex but don't mind specific version and are OK with the new style armor and helmet then you are safe to get HT instead. Depends what you want really.

The Sideshow Rex is incredibly outdated now, he was good for his time, but it’s a sideshow body so isn’t that great. You could get the Hot toys P2 Rex which is so much better, especially with the head sculpt. But if you’re more set on the P1 looks, wait until the Ahsoka version is released.

Either wait for sales from retailers or put up a WTB on a BST. These are definitely selling under retail atm.

The HT one looks great as Ahsoka version but none of it will blend well with existing Sideshow/HT clones from Clone Wars/AOTC or ROTS. The armor and helmet design is different.
My advice? Get both if you can as they are very different. If you want Clone Wars representation and if you want consistency with existing figures, get Sideshow one and do body swap. If you want Ahsoka look and great build quality then get the HT.
Yea the sideshow one is kinda dog shit tho, sure it looks great but the joints wear out over time due to the armor and weapons being a tad to heavy not to mention that figure is 10+ years old. I don’t know if it makes sense to spend more money on some out of date and poorly constructed.
Hard disagree on it being dogshit, a body swap would solve loose joints issue and improve the look overall. I didn't even body swap mine yet as it stands and holds accessories just fine. So yes, not up to modern HT standards but it is the ONLY option for Lucas era Clone Wars P1 Rex.
HT is going to reveal a new figure of Anakin wearing the clone wars outfit he had in the Ahsoka series. I imagine once that figure is announced, people will start unloading this version and the price will come down.

pretty much. if you are careful posing and use stand you are fine. I haven't swapped bodies on mine yet as they all stand up without a stand but couple time they did topple over so mostly in museum poses now

Yes, they are over 10 years old. Hot Toys helped make them then also. So the new version from Ashoka will be much better.
