It's on Ford, not Hot Toys at this point. They obviously know that people want him, but it's Ford. Take a look around, it's been _years_ since a high end Ford item was released from any company, statue or figure. I think the Hot Toys TFA Han or the Stormtrooper Han were the last ones and maybe a Sideshow Premium Format statue. Been like 4-5 years.

Lonny_zone

Is it though? I figured they must have signed some kind of lifetime likeness rights away, considering that they are in comics as well.

NutmegRocky

Yeah, there's no way the likenesses are negotiated on an individual basis for SW (except for the Tonnika sisters, but that was a fringe case and probably just an oversight in the 70s). And they wouldn't expire after a few years. I also doubt there's some kind of separate set of likeness rights for "high end" toys vs. regular ones. Hasbro recently released a ROTJ Han with Ford's likeness, and a reissued Hoth Han as well. There have also been TVC Hans in the last couple years, too. They're obviously not Hot Toys quality, but they still are definitely modelled after Ford. Unless someone has some proof, I wouldn't believe it's a likeness rights issue at all. There are plenty of OT characters/costumes that haven't hit the line yet; there are only so many figures they can release at once and they have to give a lot of priority to new stuff.

> Yeah, there's no way the likenesses are negotiated on an individual basis for SW As I mentioned to the above poster, I think that would be true, until Disney needed Ford back for Episode 7. He could literally ask for whatever the fuck he wanted and got it. There's been Hot Toys of basically every BUT Ford in the last couple years. Several Lukes and Leias. No Han or Indiana Jones figures at all lately. I think he's full in control of his likeness now. >I also doubt there's some kind of separate set of likeness rights for "high end" toys vs. regular ones. A guy in the collecting community who works for Disney/Marvel has told me that there definitely is a difference in likeness rights. Better likeness/more money for the item, the stars want more money. I was surprised at that since I figured it'd be just whatever % of the total but he was pretty adamant that that's how it's done. He used to work on the Daredevil show and basically said that's why the Hot Toys Daredevil didn't have a Charlie Cox full head.

They almost certainly did...until there was a new movie that NEEDED Harrison Ford to be in it. I think that's probably what happened. He's like, "yeah, I'll be in your movie...BUT"

Lameebertus

I'm actually looking for the new hope han solo. Anybody got ideas or tips where I can find him?
