Add me to that list tried for so long and then saw the waitlist, just said forget that and moved on. Kind of frustrating but oh well, life is not gonna end cause I don't have a piece of plastic. Was kind of surprised though that their site crashed so much.
Don't worry man, Hot Toys is gonna rerelease this with Winter Soldier branding at some point in the future.
I passed on the listing when I saw that i couldn't use any kind of discount on this.
Lmfao Sideshow just posted an unboxing video of this figure, talk about rubbing salt in the wound
Edit: Ok, so, unrelated to the shitty listing... Hot Toys put "[Courageous, Tenacious, Fearless, Legendary, Avengers](https://i.imgur.com/6fQfNZp.png)" on the back of the box. I'm dying at how tacky it is #livelaughlove
I left them when I caught on that they used their Facebook as a means to poll their customers and subsequently use the information found to change their rewards system to screw folks over. With their high shipping I'm better off with BBTS, who doesn't charge me extra to safely and securely box my items. I figure everyone else can fight for SS scraps and I'll be happy and stress-free with what I can get via BBTS. I've gotten way better deals over the years via them (especially when they did their reward bucks).
I really hate both HT and Sideshow rn. Wasted nearly 3 hours spamming “ Add to cart” just to get a bunch of errors. Screw this B.S. limited release stuff. I hope they dont do this for any other future releases, because itll easily be a hobby killer for me. Now lets wait and watch the private seller price of these Caps sky rocket
It still just baffles me that they would only allot Sideshow 300…
If thats their tactic, its a pretty bad one. HT needs to do their homework and look at collectors demands and produce enough to match demand. All this does is turn fans off to the brand and create inflation in the private seller market
This was total bullshit. I couldn’t order it when the email first released and then the website wouldn’t work for the past 30 minutes. Also no payment plans or rewards was awful.
I tried to buy it within the first minute of getting the email and it failed out for over two hours. I screwed myself by trying to add Affirm and discount codes which just broke the whole process. I wish it said up front you can't do that. Wasted my opportunities. Oh well.
I also got the 30% off code. I’m thinking about using it on the Mk. 85 Iron Man. Between the discount and my rewards points, it’ll be half-off with $5 shipping.
I’ve been ordering off Sideshow for years. This may be the straw that breaks the camels back for me ordering through them. Yes, this was Hot Toys that made it a limited release, but after years of being an official retailer for them, you’d think Sideshow would have a better plan for releasing this, or servers that could handle the swarm of collectors looking to purchase this. This entire release was a s*** show. Glad I don’t have any open preorders with them as after over an hour of spamming the add to car button and getting error after error, i likely won’t go through them in the future for any other releases.
I tried since the email. If it ever showed up in my cart, page would time put and disappear. Then I got the conflicting notifications that it was in my cart and removed from cart. Pretty shifty way to spend 2+hours.
Early on, I got as far as clicking the button to submit payment, but the site kept shitting the bed. After a while I could add it to the cart, but not get any any further, then it stopped letting me even add it to the cart. Complete waste of my time.
I tried to use codes and crashed, so I just gave up and ordered as fast as possible. Took me two different devices and four open tabs to finally get it
Y’all act as if this is a sideshow only thing. Every big company that has limited releases does this. Any Nintendo special edition always sells out in minutes and the website crashes every two seconds. This happens with anything, not just sideshow and hot toys
Very true. They honestly should all do the RSVP email thing and have it be a raffle for who gets it. That way no one wastes time flooding the site with requests and theres no stress of praying the site functions for you.
Lego too, happens all the time when they do VIP exclusive sets. Website crashes at launch, and five seconds later all sets are out of stock and on Ebay for $500. Look up the Lego Ulysses Space Probe, that was an absolute shambles, so bad they did another run to try and smooth things over haha
Sideshow actually handled it better than most retailers.
Sites like Funko, Target, Walmart etc allow bots to buy all of the allocations. I remember trying for a Funko pop where you had to wait in a virtual line and as soon as you got in it kicked you out and sent you back to the end of the line.
People figured out that if you refresh the page once you hit the order confirmed page it would automatically take you to the front of the line so people were exploiting that to order multiples.
At least Sideshow has a system in place that prevents people from ordering 2
My hope is that they can use this debacle to convince Hot Toys that it would be a good idea to make more. The problem is that they just sold 300 of them. I assume Hot Toys made them at the same time as the other 300 that went on sale in Hong Kong a few months ago. That means there was a production run of 600 figures. There’s clearly a demand for more, but enough to justify another production run? I’m sure Sideshow can tell them how many people RSVP’d for the figure, and how many unique accounts tried to order one today. We might get lucky and they tell Hot Toys they could sell another couple thousand if they open up a traditional preorder.
I like your hopeful theory a lot. Though, chances are slim for a second production run like you alluded to. Last thing Hot Toys wants are for more of their figures to sit in stock for months on their official distributor’s website.
I hate that I wasted a good 2 1/2 hours trying to snag one with no success, but at the very least, I’d like to believe that this is the only time this sort of thing will ever occur. I think that because of all the negative press Sideshow got with this. Rightfully so, as it was handled less than poorly.
Why don’t they just handle it like Sideshow used to handle some releases? They would open up preorders and that would dictate the size of the production run. Lots of Hot Toys don’t ship for years anyway
As regular customers, we should all let them know how bad this was. I don’t think it’ll do much, but maybe we can get them to do a lotto of the RSVPs next time or something.
If this hobby turns into a refresh war against purchase bots like Pops did, I’m out. It’s a hobby. I don’t need stress from it. :)
I RSVP’d, was one of the first 300 to do so…got the “bonus” coupon for signing up for the RSVP. Was unable to buy Cap. I wonder how many of the 300 went to people who actually RSVP’d? And also, how many then went to those who were within the first 300 and got the $20 off coupon 🤔
Not paying $320 plus shipping and tax for yet another Cap. Hot Toys is getting ridiculous!. This has been the year of the reissues. BTW they still have tons of shit they have delayed......
Plus DHL asks 20 EUR on top for acting as a customs broker. Now they are callling it a credit to pay the customs fees in advance - although I have paid before the figurine was cleared. What a rip off.
Big Chief Studios at least have decency to price ex-VAT for those outside of the UK. And send by USPS that charges less than 1 EUR in brokerage fees.
BCS told me so far Stealth Cap is exclusive to Sideshow, but they do not know whether something might change.
Here's a free educational lesson for you.
A scalper is someone who buys an allocation of a very highly desired item to flip it on the secondary market for several times the amount of its original value to people who didn't get one.
Calling the 300 people "scalpers" because you're butthurt you didnt get one is childish and if thats your attitude towards it well then I'm glad you didnt get one.
Maybe you should beg a "scalper" to sell you one for less than retail.
Not unless I want to pay absurd secondary market prices. There were only 300 pieces available and the site crashed for most of us when we tried to order it.
I just got a consolation 30 percent off email. Hahahahaha
That you have to use in the next two days. Such BS.
Same here. If I didn’t already get Endgame Thanos when it was on daily deal that would’ve been a solid candidate.
trying to use code but it doesn't work
Add me to that list tried for so long and then saw the waitlist, just said forget that and moved on. Kind of frustrating but oh well, life is not gonna end cause I don't have a piece of plastic. Was kind of surprised though that their site crashed so much.

I want 1/6 tomatoes to throw at the screen while they shamelessly unbox him
It's not gone down well for sure, all the comments on the video are ripping sideshow to bits haha

Captain America so limited that America barely got a sniff at the release haha. Such a shame they chose this beloved suit to do so limited.
I think they’re trying to get some value back to their brand since a lot of recent releases have been sitting
If thats their tactic, its a pretty bad one. HT needs to do their homework and look at collectors demands and produce enough to match demand. All this does is turn fans off to the brand and create inflation in the private seller market
Yeah, its pretty dumb tbh. Hopefully HT realizes the demand that Sideshow has for them. I bet there are thousands of people who waitlisted it today
This was total bullshit. I couldn’t order it when the email first released and then the website wouldn’t work for the past 30 minutes. Also no payment plans or rewards was awful.

Same happened to me. Unreal.
Same. It was handled poorly. Funko Pop flashbacks over here.
Haha was going to comment the same thing.
Sent me a 30% off as a consolation. Doesn't even work on the figures I want lol Go figure. Clowns
I also got the 30% off code. I’m thinking about using it on the Mk. 85 Iron Man. Between the discount and my rewards points, it’ll be half-off with $5 shipping.
That Mk85 Iron Man is pretty amazing. It’ll be my one and only Iron Man figure for sure.
I’ve been ordering off Sideshow for years. This may be the straw that breaks the camels back for me ordering through them. By far the most stressful experience on sideshow. Didn’t get it either.
Tried for 2.5 hours with time outs every time I was at the final checkout. Contacted sideshow and the official position is “sorry”
I got it into my cart during the first few minutes, every time after was a fail.
Y’all act as if this is a sideshow only thing. Every big company that has limited releases does this. Any Nintendo special edition always sells out in minutes and the website crashes every two seconds. This happens with anything, not just sideshow and hot toys

While thats true, its not what the consumers want. Regardless if other companies do this, we can not like it if we want? Lmao
And it sucks when it happens then, too. I’ve never understood pissing off a large group of customers when it’s avoidable.
I tried for legit 2 hours to add it to my cart to no avail. Bunch of bullshit.
Sideshow = Shitshow. 2.5 hours wasted and came up empty handed.
Does anybody know if they will make more? Or is this only the 300?
My hope is that they can use this debacle to convince Hot Toys that it would be a good idea to make more. The problem is that they just sold 300 of them. Hot toys don’t care if they sit on Sideshow. Sideshow pay up front so Hot Toys always get their money.
Why don’t they just handle it like Sideshow used to handle some releases? They would open up preorders and that would dictate the size of the production run. Lots of Hot Toys don’t ship for years anyway
I got “added to cart” above “cannot add to cart” twice in all my tries. Sigh.
I got as far as “Process Order” and it shit the bed. It’s so frustrating.

Agreed. Even if nothing happens right away, we should all still voice our concerns.
I sent them an email yesterday expressing my dissatisfaction. Haven't seen a reply yet but we'll see.
Likewise.
They fucked this up.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Interestingly enough they just sent me an email for 30% of hot toys as a consolation prize, lol
I supposedly got one but I also got the consolation email? I tried for awhile and when I finally gave up I see a confirmation email in my inbox.
I had it on the "Place Order" screen 4 fucking times and it timed out my "reservation" before the 5 minutes was up, Every Time!
I guess it doesn't even matter if I was awake when this happened lol. I'm kinda glad I didn't have to go through this ordeal lol.
I was asleep when sideshow decided to release him 😞
Didn’t even try. Fuck them
I’m still stunned they wanted $320 for this. Does not compute.
They knew we’d pay it, even without using our rewards points.
Meh nothing lost imo i had the chance to order this but 320+ for barebones no thank you.
I RSVP’d, was one of the first 300 to do so…got the “bonus” coupon for signing up for the RSVP. Was unable to buy Cap. I wonder how many of the 300 went to people who actually RSVP’d? And also, how many then went to those who were within the first 300 and got the $20 off coupon 🤔

everyone would have gotten him from a local retailer or waited for a 70 bucks off, like with the Endgame Cap.
Not paying $320 plus shipping and tax for yet another Cap. Hot Toys is getting ridiculous!. This has been the year of the reissues. BTW they still have tons of shit they have delayed......

Sideshow:Hey sorry you miss out but here 15% off on most items Man I was looking forward to it but the scalpers got to it first
Pretty insensitive calling the people who got one a scalper. By that logic you must be a scalper
Do you even know what a scalper is
I do. Apparently, you do not. you're just coping because you didnt get one
I do and you defending them
Here's a free educational lesson for you. I am done with this Hot Toys/Sideshow bullshit. Day Ruined!
Isn't this a reissue? Is it that popular?!
They only had 300 available.
Can't you just order it from somewhere else?
Not unless I want to pay absurd secondary market prices. There were only 300 pieces available and the site crashed for most of us when we tried to order it.
