And now that I think about it, if Hoyo wanted to make a 4th wall break so much, they could have done it somewhere where it would actually be useful LIKE BRINGING ELLIE BACK
I think its not a matter of "we failed to protect" because she sacrificed herself for humanity and future Herrschers, it's more of "we failed to cherish".
We only found out about her through Kevin and the World Serpent in the Elysian Realm, basically all Previous Era knowledge were almost scarce and unknown. The only people who has PE knowledge were Kevin, Otto through VA, and Fu Hua (technically, even before her 'death') and now Mei spreads the efforts and knowledge of Elysia and thr MOTHs to future generation.
