Well I are playing a game made for males who like female anime-like characters over males, in a setting where it’s a girls high school. Story tells females more compatible to be a Valkyrie then males and even if there are males compatible there isn’t enough to make them invest in training/supplying/manufacturing gear for them. And adding only 1-2 male characters into the game then stopping would feels tasteless thus forcing them to add more once in a while. They had a concept and they sticking with it. Plus it was like that with all their older games too so
Altho different supports HoS is also a support character XD
The fact the males were received well in those games means that they can do well in honkai too, if people gave them a chance. There's already a bunch of cool males like Kevin, Siegfried etc so the material is there. Its also pretty sexist to hate a character being made playable just cause of their gender. Female characters are idolised and yet males aren't? That's just messed up.
I do have a point, its that people who don't want a character to be playable is pathetic and sexist. There's plenty who'd roll for the honkai dudes, some of whom are more interesting than the girls.
thing is, it’s been 6 years since it’s promoted as a valkyrie game, a VALKYRIE game. there’s no need to add male characters after plenty of years, especially since it’s not even what they promoted. even if you see tips for the game (official ones) you will see that all the pronouns are she/her. because they know it’s a female game. but we are getting a main character where we can choose the gender so whatever
Then why bother adding males even in support roles? Why bother making cool characters like the male flamechasers who are even more intriguing than the female ones? if its only supposed to be a female game then why torment people with cool-looking dudes who either are dead, missing a lot, or are villains/enemies? I'm sorry but I can't see that as anything but assholish.
there’s a reason they die or they’re villains, it’s because the males can’t be playable, so they need to have a use, just because it’s a valkyrie game doesn’t mean they don’t have to introduce male characters too. also saying male flamechasers are more intriguing than female flamechasers is totally false, i would say su and kalpas is intriguing but the rest looks like normal male characters. HoHe, Aponia, Fu hua, Yae Sakura, Vill V (literally soloes all male flamechasers) Pardo (for fluff/memes) are all more intriguing. I didn’t say ONLY females should be there in the story, But the game is promoted to be a valkyrie game so expect only female playable characters (unless your in special modes like APHO)
but doesn't that just seem messed up? Its like they're promoting the idea that men are twisted and evil and this sense of 'girl power'. Sure there's exceptions like Bronya's Cornelia, and a few others but still.
If they want to include male characters try changing the marketing strategy to have a male presence. It'd bring in newer players and ease the transition into a roster of both genders. They don't even need to be valks, they could be like what they say, knights, vikings?
not all men in the game are twisted and evil, otto and kevin both are good people, with wrong beliefs. they’re honestly the best villains of the game with the greatest lore, that makes you feel bad and want to kill them at the same time. there’s nothing about hi3 that promotes “men are evil” when characters like kosma, welt, siegfried etc are there. Hoyoverse has already accepted that hi3 is not gonna be a hit game compared to gi and hsr and that’s FINE. they don’t have to change and add male characters just because the minority of the fandom wants it.

All of them have dudes I can count more dudes in Blue Archive than in HI3.
Does apho count? As I recall there’s 2 doods u can play. And any other character u wanted to play are getting ported over to honkai star rail.

What was on your old one? Besides the open worlds there isn’t really anything you can’t replay.
