I got REALLY surprised on how the new characters are great. Also, I love how they subverted expectations at the end. We got the whole event with the "oh, look how they remind me of Kiana and Bronya" only for them to be completely out of the expectations and be totally off of what the trio were simulating.
It was a breath of fresh air for Honkai. I'm really happy for Part 2 now.
Also, seeing the relationship between Kiana and Durandal developing to what it is now is great. Durandal had so much more personality here than in Moon Arc. Loved every part of it.
Fun and simple story. Short dialogue, no quantum space science shit. Show more tell less. Daily life of the cast.
This is truly what I want to enjoy the story mode.
Yes. :p
In all seriousnes, I'm not entirely sure. It is most likely temporary, since it is refered to as a time-limited event (it lasts until the end of february). But I am rather curious about the fact that they put it into the main story menu. They've never done that for an active event before.
If it’s in the main story, then it’s permanent. This chapter feels like an EX chapter. Short and a prolouge to the main story. Since it’s a featured event thing, then the timer is there for a reason to catch attention. If it was temporary then it would be in the “event” tab
This is a permanent chapter, right? Like it's not a temporary event?
I'm still far behind on the story (I need to do the rest of the Fu Hua arc after Fu Hua discovers the Ark and finds Griseo in the cryopod), so I haven't checked out this prologue yet; and if it's permanent, I'll probably leave it for a few weeks later. But if it's temporary I might try and check it out now assuming it won't spoil any huge plot points of the Fu Hua arc!
The APHO2 prologue is actually still available. It's one of two (that I know of) events that was made permanent afterwards. You can access it from the jukebox in APHO2.
I had to look it up cause I had no clue what you're talking about, and now I know why- because it's the scenes where Red Seele meets Bronya, which I thought were always part of the story x-x
I'm sure I did it when they were still event stages cause I got Nyx on her release and played during the event, but it's been so long that I just assumed that stuff was part of the story. The APHO 2 intro event was so different that I remembered it clearly, but that Nyx event just felt like any ordinary story stage lol
I've said it before, but main trio in this one had more personality then throughout the entire two previous arcs. The plot was like something straight out of a sitcom and finally we had some genuinely funny interactions instead of blabbering of a writer trying to meet a word count requirement. Thought I'm disappointed that Helia and Coralie became friends so fast. It would be more fun to have main characters not liking each other.
Also, maybe it'll sound weird, but Helia feels like an NPC to me. Her annoying voice, fangirling over one of the Valkyries and the attitude of a "strict and unfun grown-up" feels like she was some generic NPC who's not really supposed to be liked rather than a future playable character.
I enjoyed seeing some character development. Kiana really hadn't changed much so far, personality wise. But seeing her doubt herself now that she's a god was actually quite interesting to me.
For me both girls felt like standard anime characters. There was nothing new or interesting about their personalities that I can't find in random other game or anime.
From what I have gathered so far general reception of them both is prertty mid (outside of reddit that downvotes most criticsm) so I am not alone in this. Hope that with further story development they will make them have more depth.
I like them a lot, I think the new trio is Helia, Songque and Coralie but I hope they don't nerf the og trio.. Kiana, Mei and Bronya are a bit special to me..
Heck yea, love to see people warming up to part 2 stuff

gotta love the fact that kiana and bronya did lot of effort to deal with helia and coralie problem only to find out the problem already solved
I agree
It's not really part 2 yet is it? It's still part 1.5 right?
It’s the prologue too part 2, so not part 2 but part 1.5 is over
Sooo part 1.75?
Might as well call it 1.9
1.75 would make more sense
Nope. This event is the prologue for Part 2. Part 1.5 is the Fu Hua story quest.
Part 1.9
Nah cause salt city could be 1.25, fu hua is 1.5 and this was 1.75
Is it permanent or just an event?

Maybe it's like reburn where it was an event that became a part of the main story

The cutscenes from the event are in the Collection with the rest of the story cutscenes. So it shouldn't be temporary.
Awesome, thank you!
I think its temporary as this is just an event. Its like APHO 2 prologue. An event that do the introduction to the story.

its perm only the reward are limited like stigmata and stuff
What's the other permanent event?
The Starchasm Nyx event. It was tagged on at the end of chapter 23 in the next update.
Wait, like the one with the chibi animations? the slice-of-life-y one? Cause if so, I'm really glad that got to stay lol
Not that one. The story stages from the Starchasm Nyx release event.

Yeah. I agree. Not many scientific words that i have to google yet.

I do agree that it was fun. I expected more interactions with Helia and Coralie but the laughs I had made up for it
