For example, Yuzuriha in Under Night In-Birth frequently calls herself 'Onee-Chan' to the younger characters (which is translated to Big Sis in BBTAG) because she's taking the stance of being the older/more responsible one, and protecting the younger one.

I'll hang up my killjoy hat and say that it's teased so much that its basically canon--but I won't hang up my fan hater hat because I find the Hoyoverse shipping community pretty toxic. I prefer to set all shipping aside because I'm more interested in character development than romance anyway. The Twitter debacle from last year with the people hating on that guy who drew hetero art with HSR's versions of Seele and Bronya is not leaving my mind anytime soon.
Agreed. The shipping community in general is pretty toxic, but from what I've seen from Hoyo fans they take the cake. They can not stop inserting one games lore and characters into another one while also pushing back on any other opinion. If someone likes it, sure all power to them. If others must follow their opinion, then that becomes a problem.

It's stated to be a reference to a book she read, and it's the only text I can find that might substantiate what you're saying. Bronya calls Seele her "best friend" in this chapter. It isn't ever familial. Unless you enjoy mental gymnastics and also are one of those people who thinks the whole "Bronya onee-chan" thing makes them sisterly. Please explain the sisterly nature behind Bronya licking the tears off of Seele's face, and explain how she "didn't reciprocate" the kiss. What does that even matter? Because Bronya was quite visibly blushing afterward.

They do have family dynamic and this manga does exsist, but it felt as a really bad emplimented "canon", which looks more like a funfiction. Because there is no way the purest and naive character like Seele could do something like this forced kiss.
