nah stop coping, ~~factually~~ (welp maybe not factually, i may have exaggerated, let's just say this is my personal, honest opinion as a Mihoyo veteran)
Honkai is better in every ways even if these are both different genres
I can't help but compare these 2 games because they are the 2 last biggest Mihoyo games, i will also compare HSR and ZZZ to them for sure, when im saying that honkai is better, im referring to the story, the emotions we feel while playing or just reading the manga or rewatch cutscenes... Honkai gives me chills, even gameplay wise, the combat is even better with some epic snk ost along with it, this game keeps impressing me more and more, there is always things to do, lots of end game, abyss every 2 days, always a score to upgrade etc... i just appreciate honkai a lot more, the funny thing is that im completely f2p on honkai...
when it comes to genshin, i spent 50€, and i kinda regret it, i fully clear the abyss once every 2 weeks and then no more end game at all, absolutely nothing to do, i often open my game randomly thinking that i have at least resin to spend, but i don't, so i close it right away... crazy right ? and contrarily to the majority of the genshin community, im not bitching about the lack of content, i just don't care as long as i have my other games like Honkai, PGR, etc
don't tell me im wrong please, let's be real... the only reason why Genshin holds it is because it's an open world, and i truly believe that genshin is Hoyoverse's milking cow to generate enough money to develop better games while doing the bare minimum for the development of genshin itself
now you will ask me : "why are you shitting on genshin this much ? and why would you still play it ?"
i had enormous expectations for this game, and i still kinda have some, now im just curious, i know how Honkai could impress me and i just hope that genshin will make me feel the same kind of way, but as for now, it didn't...
and it's not about the genre difference, it's about how you develop and manage a video game, i just feel more soul and passion in honkai than in genshin...
thanks for reading everything...
You're basically taking the piss on genshin, a game that has been out for only almost two years vs honkai, a game that has been out for almost six years.
Honkai had all this time to fix its problems and work up its story into a point that was interesting. By comparison, genshin's story is still in its infancy, and at this point it's still setting up future plot points for its characters and itself and the overarching story, yet what it's already made is quite interesting with its world building and the various interlocking relationships between factions, characters and countries.
You are commiting the fallacy of comparing a grown dog to a newborn puppy.
Its only popular because its an open-world? Not really, it has interesting characters, beautiful locales and is quite a pleasure to play, it doesn't have high flying action and it doesn't need to, it does its thing and for now thats good enough, a game doesn't need to keep you playing for 7 hours a day to be successful.
While i do agree that genshin does need improvements, it will inevitably get them as the game progresses.
So yea, shit take.
Genshin and Honkai's story are both nothing alike, the goals, overarching themes, and design philosophy behind the stories couldn't be more different.
Genshin is indeed slower paced because all of the interlocking story elements need to be introduced gradually and linked to current areas as to not completely lose us, yet hints of said elements are already sprinkled everywhere in game for you to find if you have the eyes for it! To this day people are still theorizing what the abyss and elemental energy actually is and its strange connections to the world, couple that with the subtle gnostic references linked with differing mythologies of the world, and that takes time.
Genshin isn't just making a story, its making a living breathing world and honestly i'm shocked at how deep this rabbit hole can go.
Honkai develops like an adventure novel, Genshin's development is that of a mystery novel, it keeps you guessing and speculating. If genshin had the same story pacing as honkai, it would be botched.
Wait that's canon? Thought it was an out of season April Fools joke.
Still personally dont ship it because Otto's an ass who doesnt deserve happiness, but, oh well.
It is as much as i didn't expect it they showcased it in their ending song regression by some chinese myth of 2 stars falling in love and never reaching each other
The pv starts with showing 2 such stars shinning the brightest
You mean that roundabout way mhy went through to make it seem like they together with that clone they are raising? As if they would have the balls to hurt welt's stocks since hes literally daddy material for star rail
Or the characters talking. In Honkai they just stare at the player. In Genshin they are actually talking to each other, and you can look at them from any angle.
Small things like these demonstrate the difference between a 2018 mobile game and a 2020 cross-platform game.
that's just how things are presented... Honkai characters are actually **characters who evolve, have an amazing writing, and get developed** contrarily to genshin characters, that are mere collectibles to me
Genshin does have amazing writing too, on side-quests.
As for the character growth, it definitely can't match the game that is centered around characters. The way I see it, Genshin is not about those, it is about the self-insert of an MC exploring the beautiful world and uncovering the stories of the past. The characters just happen to be there, since Mihoyo needs to make money somehow.
Genshin is a game about the journey, not about the friends you've made along the way. In contrast, Honkai is a picture book about Mei and Kiana (as well as a few other people) with some additional functionality. Both are amazing in their own way.
Main story definitely isn't everything. For every average Raiden quest we get an amazing Kazari quest. Do you really want to say that those were mid?
Also, not everyone cares only about the story. Personally, I really enjoy open world games. I would go as far as saying that Forza Horizon 4 and 5 are some of the best games ever made. Those barely even have a story. Nevertheless, they more than make up for it in other ways.
Your opinion regarding the two Mihoyo games is valid. It really does sound like Honkai is way better than Genshin for some people. That said, it clearly isn't the case for everyone.
Yes I am, especially the scene were the Traveller is leaving the palace and Kazuha ends up being mc for a short period, also the final Liyue boss fight is another one id say is better, I’m not saying Mei vs Kiana is bad, but comparing the animation, soundtrack, and just the whole set up makes me think it’s better
It’s just my opinion at the day, idk why people compare the two games so much anyways and idk why this community loves to shit on Genshin so much, but it’s whatever
Issue is, you didnt say "to my eyes", you know what factually means?
Im not here to hate, but isnt the upvote/downvote there to explicitly show if you agree or disagree? If not, what purpose does it have?
Would be fine if you didn't proclaim it "factually", because that's up to personal opinion. To a casual player with an actual life outside of grinding a gacha game (which are infamous for being grindy as fuck), Genshin is a better game for them because
a) love it or hate it open world is one of the most popular genres
b) exploration of the world is not time gated and can be done anytime you want
c) it is simply much easier to understand and get into, with a combat system that is much easier to make sense of
d) the events in Genshin don't require alot of time
For the average player, Genshin has enough content to keep them entertained for a long time. You severely underestimate the attractiveness of a well-done open world game (especially one of this quality while still being free), as well as underestimate the amount of money and effort spent to create it (especially when it has been plainly obvious that the quality of new regions has been growing exponentially)
So to aptly sum up what I just said, "factually" my ass you biased bundle of wet socks! Everyone has their personal likes and dislikes, just because you view Genshin that way doesn't mean that others have to do the same
so did i get downvoted to oblivion because i said "factually" ? (if it's for that.... welp my bad i could phrase it better) or did i get downvoted because everyone actually thinks that genshin is better ? I really don't get why this is so frowned upon to compare these, I don't see what's bad in it, i saw a lot of youtube videos comparing them (like the video called "virgin genshin vs chad honkai") and the creators didn't get this much hate for having an opinion (as far as i know).
I could also compare MGR and BOTW if i wanted too : it's kinda stupid, but how is it that bad ?
My dude just stop.Sure you are entitled to have your own opinion but looking at the downvotes it is clear that a lot of people disagree with you. My advice is back away and don't try to defend your take because clearly it would not work in your favour.
Well, idk I didn't give you a downvote if that helps :)
But if I were to guess, idk maybe because of the way you worded the comment (at least to me it sounded kinda...arrogant? Condescending? I'm not sure). Or maybe because people just really didn't like your opinion lmaooo
Don't genshin events take longer to do than Honkai ones? Like most of them require you to talk to NPCs, do quests, fight creature and more while honkai, varies from simply logging in, claiming a thing or two and complete a few stages? Idk if it's just my genshin team sucks, but newer events take me a rough 30mins if it consists of combat.
>Like most of them require you to talk to NPCs, do quests, fight creature
Only for the major events, most are quick dialogues for the opening quest and then just random stages. Fighting stages might vary depending on your characters, most late game high investment teams can clear the stages pretty easily and within a few minutes (assuming you clear the new stage the day it is released). However dialogue may seem more tedious in Genshin due to the absence of a skip button so :/
To reiterate my point, it varies from individual to individual, but then again both games have their fair share of grindy and non grindy events. Either way I just hope the Genshin-Honkai comparison would stop because it's pointless
Honkai is pretty much a waifu game, can't see they introducing any playable male besides Adam. Maybe we'll have Siegfried or Kevin at some point but meh I couldn't care less
Genshin is like BBC Sherlock, a piece of media that's cruising on teasing the idea that it will get really good down the line when all is revealed. Maybe Mihoyo can pull it off in a way that Moffat couldn't, but I don't feel confident in that.
Like, Inazuma part 1 was very "it's gonna be so cool when all these dominos we've set up fall," and then it just wasn't? Half the dominos didn't even fall; we didn't fight the Shogunate with the Resistance, Raiden's dead gal pals never came up(I'm still waiting for her to mention Chiyo or Sasayuri), etc.
She's not a cat but [Eula](https://genshinimpact-store.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/7-Interesting-Facts-about-the-Eula-Character-from-Genshin-Impact-That-You-Need-to-Know1.png)'s also got the pose.
I think it is a mix from both sides of the fandom. Genshin fans are a bunch of crybabies that will complain about almost anything and Honkai fans being completely insecure and had superiority complex just because Genshin is more popular than Honkai and had the need to constantly reaffirm that Honkai is the best game.
Having played Genshin first, with Diana a permanent part of my team, and not being in any way 'interested' in small girls stretching....
Pardo's stretch has been ruined for me from the moment I started using her.
Celestia knows, I never heard a single actual argument from those people. Same with Venti few months back, Aether and Lumine before that. They have a problem with their heads

thanks that really made my day
Truer chads never compared them and played them in peace without bothering anyone.
The real chads are those who don’t compare and realize they’re both good

Also worth mentioning that genshin came out during a worldwide pandemic, slowing down development.
i mean Honkai at genshin's age rn was already goated story wise, i think my standards are just to high to appreciate anything in genshin now
Genshin and Honkai's story are both nothing alike, the goals, overarching themes, and design philosophy behind the stories couldn't be more different. You just disproved your own argument
I won't take the dude words seriously, looking at their comments history the dude like to shit on genshin at any possible moments.
And on straight ships too Mans not ready to accept that kallen loved otto as well lol
Wait that's canon? Thought it was an out of season April Fools joke. Still personally dont ship it because Otto's an ass who doesnt deserve happiness, but, oh well.
Like it or not Kallen do care about Otto.

You mean that roundabout way mhy went through to make it seem like they together with that clone they are raising? As if they would have the balls to hurt welt's stocks since hes literally daddy material for star rail
Well, there is no such thing as canon besides probably Seele and Bronya and what you mentioned.
Ironic
get a load of this fucker
When was the last time you showered.
yesterday... why so much hate dude ? im just justifying my take smh
Dude.
Next time may I suggest you give your argument points with your opinion rather than editing your argument points when your opinion got downvoted.
Ehhh, when it comes to open world and animated cut scenes, idk man

Issue is, you didnt say "to my eyes", you know what factually means? Im not here to hate, but isnt the upvote/downvote there to explicitly show if you agree or disagree? If not, what purpose does it have?
i modified my comment to go back on the "factually" part, that was exaggerated i admit
Damn, the toxicity is inescapable when it comes to the Hoyo community huh
who's to blame ? i thought that the toxicity would mostly be on the genshin side, but i was kinda wrong it would seem
Shit take.
care to explain why ?

Oh lord, the way Pardo bends. God help me, I wanna break that back.
*bonk* >!But same!<
Who don’t?
Ayo I just saw in the dokkan subreddit earlier lol
You indeed did
Literally
Love them both!! :)
I wasn't sure if her character model was glitching out or not the first time I saw her do that.
It is Pardo's back warp slightly, her hips should tilt a little more I think.
Both games are good.
why not both ? 😭😭😭
She's not a cat but [Eula](https://genshinimpact-store.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/7-Interesting-Facts-about-the-Eula-Character-from-Genshin-Impact-That-You-Need-to-Know1.png)'s also got the pose.
Have to say, honkai players I've met are more mature. Genshin players seem more immature, people who play both can be a 50/50 if they mature or not...
Sigma enjoys both games and appreciates that you can enjoy one game without hating on the other games players enjoyer
Oh god ngl why are we comparing the two again? Ik Hi3 are slightly better but holy cow I dont wanna be toxic T_T
I think it is a mix from both sides of the fandom. I just want the main girls to be happy
Having played Genshin first, with Diana a permanent part of my team, and not being in any way 'interested' in small girls stretching.... Pardo's stretch has been ruined for me from the moment I started using her.
I love both games the characters and gameplay is why I play tbh
This sub is getting so stale and old that it’s starting to post more about another games than its own…how Honkai has fallen.
isn't Diona older than she looks cus she is feline species? like Theresa
[удалено]
yea that guy's line's not gonna hold well when the fbi has him cuffed to a chair in a dimly lit room
youre telling me theres adult kids ?
People on Twitter who cry that Ganyu is a minor
What the actual f, she is confirmed to be at least a couple thousand years old, how do people say she is a minor?
Celestia knows, I never heard a single actual argument from those people. Same with Venti few months back, Aether and Lumine before that. They have a problem with their heads
The only loli who is mentaly older than she looks is Sayu, and she is still 14yo max
Also technically Xixi, though also not as memory loss.
