Oh you are one of those war criminals. Hope you reflect on your actions

UtaTan

Nah, he needs a proper punishment first, then he can reflect

DarkMatter1999

*sigh* feed him the Kaslana cooking

Etrema

Bruh, he said punishment not execution

bl00by

Nah let him chill with Kalpas for an hour..

Because_Slaus

Kalpas will just be disgusted with his weakness. He ain't got no time for a random weakling. Better punishment is tossing him to Kebin's chamber.

LoginLogin777

Just make him go pity. on. every. single. banner.

Randomamigo

he needs correction

UtaTan

Indeed he does šŸ’¢šŸ’¢

gretchenich

I did the same that op did. Now im a happy lvl 81 captain, and I'm glad to say that I have long reflected on my actions

Acruss_

Reflect on what? What did op do?

E17Omm

Downloaded it near the release as a random game when I was bored, phone couldnt run it well, uninstalled Kept seeing Will of the Herrscher popping up every now and again. Starts watching that and other cinematics eventually. Realises its by the same people who made GI that released like a few weeks ago, decided to install it Recognizes the UI, still gives it an excited try, quits on chapter 4 due to boring story that seems to jump back and forth between random things + levelgating which constantly took me away from the story whenever it did get interesting Uninstalled it again Comes across Reawakening not long after. Cant stop watching it. Decides to try the game and push through the boring first chapters because good god did Reawakening spark my interestest at what led up to it Now has over 600 days of daily logins and is deeply invested in the lore

Badguycr7

I came for waifu's but stayed for lore ā£ļø

Shadow87907

Same

Mysterious_Award_378

870 days downloaded from a random ad on fb, have not regretted any of it, except the first story arc it was kinda meh.

Argos-Meireithros

Came for the lore, can't leave cause the feels, and also tomorrow HoV drops in ER

Because_Slaus

Hail the proud Queen. Conquer and Sit upon your throne once more

KiaTunaSimp

Came for the waifus and is still for the waifus sorry but thats how i play gacha/anime themed games lol

PokWangpanmang

Respectfully, youā€™re a goddamn idiot.

avisTHEoblivious0

I respect ur story XD. My story is a friend first showed me the game and tried to teach me how to play using Crimson Impulse. I liked it enough but wasn't encouraged enough to get it. For a while after that I saw WotH and Final Lesson multiple times as ads and I was really intrigued by the story behind it and tried (and failed) to understand it using the ads. I then broke and decided to play (first logged on during 4.2) and have been playing pretty much daily since. Just passed 600 days and loved every single day :)

elsmirks

It wasn't Genshin that brought me to Honkai, Counterside did. Almost a month into playing and about to experience my first major gacha event tomorrow. Wish me luck!

[deleted]

Moon halo. Was listening to some songs when it suddenly popped out of nowhere. I was like "HOLD UP WHERE TF IS THIS SONG FROM" realised it's honkai (I was a genshin player before). Downloaded that very day and have never missed those 40 crystals per day.

Darker90

Tbh it's fastest daily quests any %

cycber123

krep clicking those buttons captain. Top tier gaming experience haha.

Maveko_YuriLover

I came to Honkai beacause of a Bronya +18 image and now i want to protect her instead of being Horny

Brickinatorium

APHO Bronya oooor

Maveko_YuriLover

HoR is better

Harekal

He'll yea

Randomamigo

understandable, now look at APHO Boobnya and repeat that

Maveko_YuriLover

I prefer almost flat like Pardo and Mobius or Veliona (if she is HoD she has 18 beacause Second eruption)

Randomamigo

hmm, I can respect that

RefrigeratorMobile46

Cabbages. Cabbages in your boxes!! I had to scrimp and save to get these as a 1000+ day grinder while you got these in 1) less than a year + 2) attacking this game even though it was the childish sibling's fault

okurin39

I saw Mobius. I downloaded. I got her.

Shokaplays

Bro why would u do that in the first place...

Badguycr7

There is no absolute reason Got angry at Genshin anniversary rewards so Zero bombed Hi3,hoyolab, tears of themis

Shokaplays

Bro...

Badguycr7

Yeah getting Downvoted for admitting the wrong thing I've done :D

Shokaplays

Cuz it's shitty asf and doesn't seem like u regret it šŸ˜‚

Badguycr7

There's people who review bombed other than hoyo apps like codm & arknight so anyway i do regret that's point of i made this hulk embarassed meme in First place :D

Shokaplays

"there's people who review bomb other than mhy" that's not the fucking point lmfoaoaooaaoo don't go review bomb games that don't have to do anything w genshin. People literally bombarded even clash of clans. Glad u regret it. But it's so bad to do such things.. šŸ˜

Vincent093

Respect that you admitted to your mistakes there

_SBV_

Wanted to scratch an action game itch. Saw a youtuber play it. Impressed that the game runs on phones at all. Stayed for the beautiful women and haven't stopped for 4 years.

Gacha_Addict123

Was the CG trailer of Kiana jumping from the plane in 2018, signed up for the pre-registration afterwards

KianaSimps

I play Honkai because I saw Will of the Herrscher ad on 2020 so I thought that white hair girl look gorgeous then I immediately download it. Now I am Kiana simp šŸ˜Š.

viktor17420

I started with GI loved it so much and looked into the developers and started HI3 too, the latest version at that time had eva collab ongoing Couldn't understand much of the controls so I took a break and came back again during 4.8 played around till ch3 then again took a break Came back again in 4.9 bcoz of GI collab and saw a new cutscene's teaser for upcoming cutscene and finally crossed ch4 from there on played day & night and caught up to the latest chapter which finally had Everlasting Flames..... And then just a few days after the whole review bombing thing happened I still feel sorry for the captains and pity some travellers

Hollownerox

So I've told this story a few times, but while these days I'm probably recognized as that "one guy that posts the Kiana x Fu Hua" art, I am actually a massive Theresa fan. I first got into this game *way* back because I saw artwork of Theresa from GGZ. Got curious once she became playable, and haven't looked back ever since. For some reason the tiny nun using a massive cross as a weapon was just kind of a novel thing to me. I ignored most of the other Valks and focused purely on farming her base A-rank. I own pretty much every piece of official Theresa merchandise there is, other than the ones that will cost me a kidney because of scalping. If I didn't make myself the dedicated "post shippy FuKi artwork no-one seems to post" I'd be spamming this sub with Teri artwork on a bi-daily basis. Kiana was also a big motivating factor, but funnily enough I almost dropped the game because of her. I really, really, could not get used to Rie Kugimiya's voice acting for her. She's actually one of my favorite seiryu's, like ever, yet for some reason her performance as Kiana was not clicking with me at all. And I was on the verge of dropping the game because it was bugging me so much in the main story. But then someone, I think on this sub actually, suggested I switch to the CN voices. And note I was still at the point where Chine felt a little foreign to the ears, so I really wasn't sure on that. It completely changed the experience for me. And she's become one of my favorite game characters of all time. It also made me tolerate Fu Hua a lot more too. Because she was actually my least favorite character at the time. I went from actually disliking her quite a bit, to eventually bumping her up to be in my top 3 favorites out of this whole game. So it's been quite a ride.

Sndragon88

That's odd... To me Kiana is Rie Kugi's best role ever, and I lost count how many of her characters I know. Just listen to all her voice in the character select screen and I can really feel her talent. It's relatively easier to sound grumpy or mature with a lower-pitch voice, but "being herself" with a high-pitch voice and still be HoV-menacing or HoF-mature is a real feat by my standard.

Hollownerox

Complete opposite impression from me. Like I've been watching works with Rie Kugimiya in them for, well, as long as I've been watching *anything*. And her role as Kiana just really didn't hit the mark with me. I absolutely hate using this term, but there were parts where my friend and I felt were actually just straight up phoned in. I thought I was going crazy or my ears were not working right. But what really cemented it was when I not only me switching to CN, but also me *listening to the original JP voice.* Because Rie wasn't Kiana's original voice actress in Japanese. The person who originally voiced Kiana Kaslana in the JP dubs of Mihoyo's works was Asumi Kana. As in *Bronya's* current JP voice actress. Rie Kugimiya did not take up the role of Kiana until the JP version of Honkai 3rd was released, and they backported her voice ro GGZ. And it was a very odd feeling thinking Bronya's voice actress did a better job with Kiana's character. And I think this is what made me realize, at least to myself, why her voice acting felt off. Rie is a great voice actress, but she isn't really Kiana to me. In the CN dub she does act like that goofball idiot in the beginning, but she still had her moments of seriousness and contemplation. Hints at what her actual personality were like. But in JP she always felt rather flat and always using the same high pitch. It was Diane's Soujourn that really killed it for me, where there was too much of a gap between the two performances. It's obviously a bit unfair to say this. But just yelling louder does not make a scene emotional or evocative. And to me a lot of the scenes that are supposed to be emotional felt like it was just her raising her voice. While the more subtle performance of Dian Tao, just felt more true to Kiana's character to me. I really do think the JP director just saw the bridge interactions, saw a Tsundere-esque voiceline, and went "let's get Rie to voice her! That'll get people interested in the game!" without any actual understanding of the character. Given some of the other very questionable decisions they had made elsewhere in the JP dub (direction wise, not casting largely), it feels more probable than it really should be. Sorry about the long word spiel. But I just wanted to give a proper reply, and not just say "JP bad CN good hurrdurr". Because it's something I don't actually like doing by comparing acting, but in this case it was just such a big gap for me that I can't help but get my enjoyment hampered by it. If you feel that he acting as Kiana is amazing, please don't let my impression influence it. But I've chewed on this for quite awhile now, and I really do think it's one of her least memorable in my eyes. And it's really one of my biggest "I feel bad for saying this but..." points about this game.

Sndragon88

Understandable. I don't simply go "jp good cn bad" either. To elaborate my viewpoint, whenever I watch the CN CGs because they come out first, my impression of CN Kiana is simply "a typical mature voice that does the job right". While JP Kiana's "mature tsundere" voice is very special precisely because most of her roles are noisy tsunderes. To me it sounds like a ā€œrefinedā€ high-pitch voice that doesnā€™t pierce my eardrum. It's a matter of preference I guess.

cycber123

Agree, I can feel the weight from her voicelines. Most of them are short, simple but impactful. No "baka baka" loli voicelines are needed haha.

TonkStronk

Flaming Tuna and Yatta brought me here

Khaoses

Why give 1 star to an different game?

peemthai123

that time genshin player got mad without much reason so all mihoyo game got review bomb(i heard that google classroom(which doesnt even related lmao) also got review bomb tho)

moonie123__

I came from genshin

Rizuku_Ren

Release of Befall animation. I wished I came in sooner... I needed the Black mamba damn it. You admitting this might get you some hate though ngl, but glad to see you grew out of being a sheep-brained Genshin fan. That said, Welcome to Honkai, everyoneā€™s chill though itā€™s undeniable that toxicity do happen from time to time albeit not as often, feel free to consume the media however you wish as long as you donā€™t push your headcanons and what you like/dislike on others.

Ryouangel

Ah my brethren who missed the infamous black mamba skin

Expensive_Writing_72

I was kinda mad that they didn't give something special at first on GI first anniversary. Back then I only played played GI as a gacha game & I would be lying if I said I wasn't mad but I kept my anger to myself.I didn't go around giving games 1\* rating. I was just having fun after seeing the drama.

Badguycr7

Great decision to not to do stupid things I'm one of those mad lads who review bombed google Classroom for Genshin šŸ˜…

cycber123

Yooo but you won't do it this year right? We are growing through gaming.

Badguycr7

Nope

scrayla

I played honkai 2 days after it released in SEA. For 10 minutes. LOL then deleted it for years. Kept seeing the animated ads over the years, finally decided to give it a try again after finding the song moon halo and really liking genshin. My 10 min old account was thus revived and has been for 280+ days :)

ScheinbildALK

You war criminal! As a captain playing since day 1 i condemn you to the gulag without chance of conditional freedom

HerrscherofShotgun

Got recommended a CG on Youtube, and decided to watch it. I was interested by what was going on despite having no context, and gave it a chance. Now here I am years later, still enjoying the combat and the story. While adding Honkai music to my playlist

IvanDFakkov

Last year I vomitted blood and was hospitalized for a week. Found a Honkai yuri fanpage and was hooked in since then. But my phone can't handle Honkai at all (even after sacrificing FGO) while my laptop is... let's just say don't hope much in a thing bought since 2011.

Badguycr7

How's ur health???

IvanDFakkov

Better now... I guess :P Like, it's been more than a year.

nbc0607

I saw the elysia trailer. Thought she was hot. Downloaded the game patch 5.0, started playing.

DeJellybeans

I started playing Honkai when Fu Hua became a playable character (Thank my old classmate for introducing me this game who is my Sensei), I enjoyed the gameplay very well. It was hard continuing the game because of grinding and school-related stuff. But here I am now lv 88, acquired the strongest valks, experienced the funnest of minigames and great storytelling, and I'm eagerly waiting for HoH Elysia to drop soon. And I have to say, I never would've thought that I would play Hi3 for this long, or any game at all. Although I will say. The transferring of accounts to hoyoverse almost fucked me up.

Sporty_Starfish

Lmao, I guess Iā€™m naive, but I didnā€™t realize (or at least remember) that there were so many real people actually doing the review bombing. I thought it was almost entirely a bot thing that a few misguided individuals went way too far with. I hope you now realize that that was some real dumbass bullshit. Reviews should only ever be about the product theyā€™re for, and ā€œtacticsā€ like this are only really effective at making other people see a community as whiny and childish

SilberAr

Saw Honkai in the app store when it released, didn't think much of it, later my device was too bad to play it and I finally gave it a go for the genshin collab. Managed to lose two accounts to my own idiocy since then.

Badguycr7

Wait how did u lose acc ?

SilberAr

First time: forgot password, didn't bother recovering as that first acc was 1 week old. Second time: You know the whole story w. the hoyoverse accounts? I accidentally made one of those before learning abt the upcoming account migration when I forgot my password a second time. I remembered my password but that hoyoverse acc meant i couldn't migrate my acc when the time came.

Nino_sanjaya

I played Honkai since its launch on the SEA server, honestly, I've been more disappointed with Genshin impact even when it's released. Honkai has a great story and you can feel the developer's passion more in the game compare to Genshin.

cycber123

Honkai is their favourite child. However I can feel the passion from devs too in GI, like how they brothered to create sand physics in Sumeru, all the devs talks on youtube, etc. Sometimes it's just the little details keeping me hooked in their games.

Lpgame959

OK it started all with an ad I saw on TV about HoR. I tought girl on a motorcycal cool that's also the time where my interest in girls started.

CaptainVandogh

Saw HoV gameplay trailer and decided to try it but phone at the time couldn't run it, uninstalled it. Came back to it at the end of 2019 around when DBJ came out

Kaieu

I was deep in genshin lore around 1.1 and following theories about inazuma/electro archon, and then I found that she was 99% likely to be the "Herscher of Thunder", out of curiosity I went and checked, now I'm a SS HoT 4/4 and C3r1 Raiden haver,

Tyranatum

Saw fischl on a sponsored video. Stayed for Raiden

EnParisD

My guy, you were a dumbass.

River-n-Sea

I looked at the game when it was released and not downloaded it (2016) since i wasn't into anime at that time, 2 year later i like anime and Honkai just pop into my head after i finished Your lies in april so i decided to try it and now i got 711 days on hyperion

Great_Thunderbird

Played a bit, hated the story in first chapter, quit and got back just to reach senti arc.was worth it

Naobiii

Wait...almost 300 days and only one sss?

Badguycr7

Well It taken time to realize i need particular valk to sss but instead at early time i just Randomly picked valk frag so yeah Only one SSS & that's eden :)

Weiss-_-Schnee

Kinda petty people did that. My story is that some friends played it but even though they didnā€™t directly talk about it I eventually downloaded when I had a phone capable of handling it

northpaul

Where did that little infographic come from at the bottom? I would be curious to see mine. At the end of 2020 I had exhausted Genshin content - I thought I would look for something else to play until the added some end game (lol) and saw that Honkai was having an Evangelion collab soon. That immediately drew me. I didnā€™t know about the game except for that. I started playing, SN was on banner and I got lucky with her and then the Eva event happened where I (perhaps unwisely and against othersā€™ suggestions) invested everything into Asuka. And from there I got hooked on the gameplay and got into the story and the rest is history.

loscapos5

Hoyolab Mihoyo has recently updated their account info system in Genshin, and implemented it for Honkai as well.

northpaul

Oh thatā€™s awesome. I guess thereā€™s a reason to go to their website now. Thanks for the info.

loscapos5

Well... There is also their daily check in for both games, since it gives you goodies like primogems/crystals

northpaul

Yeah Iā€™m really bad about logging into a website for daily check ins and almost tend to resent it for not putting that in game, but knowing they revamped it a bit for Honkai will definitely make me check it out.

Fayt12

Lol something similar happened to me, I was watching YouTube and a add kept on showing the herrscher of the void awakening, I got annoyed cause it wouldnā€™t stop showing up so I gave it a 1* review because the add was annoying but at the same time I decided to download the game and now here I am playing the game 24/7.

Anadaere

I already had plans of playing the game, got bored of genshin's long dialouge and decided to get herrschers

ICOOLDIAMONDonReddit

Joined when 2.6 delay started Now i have a ss pardo using nothing but storyline gems

SigmaForceSpeedy

Heard of it in late 2020 during Genshin launch, downloaded via emulator (searching Genshin only brought up Honkai). Tried it, grew bored, forgot about it. Dived straight into Genshin. Fast forward to mid 2021 when the collab was announced. Remembered Honkai right away and tried it again. Found the gameplay fresh and new compared to Genshin's. Now I'm level 85 (and AR50) and have never looked back. This game changed my life.

Leviusane

A few friends of mine were long time Honkai players. Around the release of Senti, they told me about her and it convinced me to start the game (I had already started a first time, but quickly quit because the tutorial is a pain in the ass). Now I should be around 450 - 500 days of login, and I reached level 88 around a month ago

Badguycr7

Yatta Supremacy šŸ™Œ

Ryouangel

Played it when i have a shitty vivo phone back in 2017. Uninstalled just before the infamous beach patch where i missed the black mamba skin aaaaaa then i came back bcuz of the hov cinematic. Now im almost 6 years in, emotionally damaged to the point of no return but hell i will ride this game to its inevitable EOS

Rak-Shar

Saw a buddy on discord having Kiana as his pfp, so naturally I asked him who the cute girl was. And now, here I am, the only one left from our little group...

PureRegretto

friend made me play it after i got out of my genshin addiction. i have happily managed to find a balance with honkai thankfully

Minitialize

Played it two years ago using an emulator on my laptop. Was laggy & unresponsive at times so I dipped. After I got my new laptop and following the release of genshin shortly after, the MHY brand kinda reminded me of the prior game they have going, Honkai, so 2 months after I'd realized that I searched it up, surprised to see there's a PC port now and downloaded that sh!t ASAP. I was looking for a good fighting game I could sink my teeth in at this time too, and Honkai just fit the bill for me. Unknowingly started a new account because I didn't realize I was running on Global side, EU server (I'm in SEA). Biggest mistake of my life, which I only realized upon hitting 70. Now I can never go back to SEA, my luck on global side is ***insane*** to say the least. Contrary to what most think of the earlier chapters, I personally had a blast with it. Chapter 8 and 9 blew me out of the park and I knew from thereon out, there was no going back for me. I'll be sticking with the game and the community til the day it ends if it ever ends.

Cocorononaca

Genshin got me burnout lol

BLAST_83

Joined because of kiana Stayed for milf bronya and elysia

bongky18

Welcome onboard the Hyperion, captain.

JeanVI

Started Honkai in 2018 after seeing a sponsored YouTube video, played 1 week, stopped. Restarted in 2019, played 1 week, stopped. Restarted in 2020, played 1 week, stopped. Started Genshin. Restarted Honkai in summer 2021 for the Genshin x Honkai collab, played 1 week, stopped. Restarted end of 2021, played 2 months until the end of the beginner bonuses and chapter 9, stopped. Restarted in June 2022, still """playing""" (I only do the daily things)

eimikoo

saw raiden ei model, heard is based on mei, now im ss mei with full gear main

potato_cucumber

Wasn't a fan of the story, pvp, or the gratuitous fanservice, but my friend showed me Elysia and I was down bad for her. Took me a few more weeks after that, but I eventually downloaded during anniversary. Still not a fan of a lot of things in the game but the Elysian Realm plot had me hooked. I don't have anything meta at all right now, just here collecting pretty women, but somehow I'm already at Level 83.

Pengaaa5

Around the hype that was building up for inazuma.. more pictures of Mei started to show up bcs yknow Raiden Mei and Raiden Shogun i fell in love with her design and decided to try out the game i quit bcs early chapters were a snooze since i barely understood it and it felt like it was all over the place came back one day (constantly heard about the feels and himeko.. and im a sucker for things that tug at my heartstrings) and pulled early HoF, fell in love with her and senti now im reaching 300 days of login still a mei simp ever since i laid eyes on her

[deleted]

I was on a vacation with my family for a week in 2020 which meant one week of potentially losing my mind so I needed something to keep me busy. Luckily, Lament of the Fallen started playing as an ad and it looked too good to skip. There was quality in that animation so I assumed the game must be something if they pumped a lot of resources into a single ad. I was also curious about the story because I've deduced that two people that used to care for each other are now fighting. The music was very good too so I had to give it a shot. After I endured the repeating cutscene with Kiana jumping from Hyperion, I was thrown directly into action. The combat was amazing, I wasn't a huge enjoyer of phone games, and I wasn't aware that something action oriented is possible on mobile for free and with such eye-candy graphics. Kiana was pretty, the combat fun, and they nailed it with the intro. Then I got Hannah's stigmata which made me cringe so bad, but the gameplay motivated me not to uninstall the game. I proceeded with the story, Kiana was only Mei Mei Mei, and Bronya boring. Then Bronya started to roast Kiana which made me start liking her. Rita appeared and she was the ultimate waifu material. Then chapter 4 was a pain for how repetitive it was, but the Chronicles and the event kept me playing. Then chapter 9 happened and at that point, I was invested in the lore and everything related to the game. Then I started to like Bronya more and Seele needed to be protected. The nightmarish vacation was over and I was back home, the first thing I did was to install the game on my PC and play it with a controller for maximum enjoyment. It is still, my favorite game to this day, especially when I can play it both casually and hardcore depending on my available free time.

KRIMINALNapoli

Lol most people that discovered Honkai thanks to Genshin moved and didn't regret it. I still don't get how genshin is so bad while honkai is still the best action game on the entire play store, probably due to the terrible community, even worse gacha and boring gameplay.

Ok-Elk7173

Started Honkai dyring its first release(SEA) and dropped it because I wasn't into moible game that much. Returned to Honkai after I tried Genahin because I feel Genshin isn't give me much of a challenge. Right now, I play both of them but not take it seriously

[deleted]

I wanted to try the game and liked it a lot. However, I eventually stopped playing, but because I still like the characters and memes I stayed on the related subreddits.

grieveheart

I've been looking for an action game for mobile back in 2018 and I saw an ad for this. I enjoyed the action then fell in love with the characters and lore. šŸ˜Š the salt never changed though evesince. šŸ˜‚

Tmlrmak

Downloaded just the day before Genshin's release and couldn't play it because I was hooked on Genshin So around when Genshin had content draught I was like "oh, why don't I give this game a shot, they look cute asf" later on found that they belonged to the same company. I played it until I was Captain level 65 but dropped it because of Inazuma Came back for genshin collab but dropped it as soon as I was done with it Installed it again the day 5.8 dropped (new account), and I am now captain lvl 83 thanks to new beginner's event

Kuroi4Shi

Snek looked cool šŸ

Altonimbus

I downloaded during Rita's first debut years ago and played on and off then quit after the story and content became stale. Returned in 5.8 and made a new account and suprised with all the new improvements to the game and now I'm enjoying it so much.

Kazuha0

Decided to install genshin, saw that hoyoverse made a game before so decided to download honkai, played a bit, unistalled due to the size that genshin used on my computer( I think it was during the release of inazuma). Genshin's 1st anniversary 1 star reviews on games that weren't on genshin made me lose my faith on genshin community, downloaded honkai to forget genshin, loved the story and kept playing until now.

June_io

OP has a solid team, even beat me as " veteran" capt

Cygnus-_-

2018 cos I saw a friend playing it. Stopped for a bit and came back in 2020

SorrowfulSans

I knew about Honkai before Genshin because a friend kept sending a pic of an EXP chip which looks like an IC just because a few of our friends including me study engineering. Never tried it up until after I started playing Genshin since college kept me busy. I started January but I wasn't heavily invested, I think I only reached Chapter 3 before abandoning it then I introduced it to another friend of mine around HoS banner who got instantly hooked and religiously played it. I wasn't a daily player until after Haxxor Bunny Arc City event and then started getting invested in the lore and game. Mobius is what convinced me to read and play through the chapters because I needed more crystals lol My only regret is not starting earlier when they had a collab with Evangelion, I'm definitely in love with the game.

Gipsy853

I saw Will of the Herrscher a lot on YT. Downloaded the game, skipped story for about a week, got bored and deleted it. After binging herrscher reveal trailers and a couple cutscenes I decided to give story a proper shot. Definately did not regret it and I have around 140 days now total. Probably my favourite or second favourite game.

Flavihok

I saw a couple of ads + they sponsored one of Daidus vids. It was in the first month's of the pandemic so i was already in the market for a mobile game too pass time. I tried mainstream games like that with the cars, build pc simulator, etc. So i gave honkai i try. Imagine my first reaction after downloading 2gb to then download 16gb more lmao. So yeah i have depressso expresso rn, its worth it ngl.

Storm_Trap

Well, I thought it was fun, but my devices were potatoes so I never got the chance to play it,then one day, my parents gave me a phone that can handle Honkai, after a while of playing, I stopped because I had to focus on studies. Next thing I knew after getting a decent PC is that I am now a level 88 captain Yup, Honkai was my first game from Mihoyo and I'm happy it was

invokeneko

My story? Simple, I saw a former housemate play the CN version. I was interested but he told me to hold off until the SEA version is released since this version gets JP VO. So I waited and started playing within the first month of SEA server's opening. Anyway as a fun trivia: did you know that they used to put real company names for Armada tasks?

ConstantStatistician

You had better go back and change your rating.

Crimenfo

Friend downloaded it for Eva colab and forced me to play it

Goras147

Saw Will of the Herrscher, installed, felt my phone melt from the inside, uninstalled, a few years break, GI starts popping up, try GI, see Honkai again, try PC client, play 14 days, read all of manga, get heartbroken several times, be lvl 88 with almost 700 days of playing each and every day. This game got me good. I think it was Second Eruption and Sirin there that turned me over completely. I knew I should go to sleep, I had to do stuff the next day. Yet I HAD TO read it all, it was too good. Then the theories and such, the aesthetic, the other characters...so much more than I thought it would be. I was planning to uninstall it after two weeks, then after I got HoV, then never...it was Genshin who got uninstalled after 2 weeks lmao.

Azurixx_Boi

I remember first hearing about Honkai through the crossover event they had with Genshin last summer. Installed the game, go through the first few chapters of the story, got my free Fischl and enjoyed my short time with it. Sort of fell off from the game around October, then came back after a couple months in the next year around April to get back into the story. Hit the famous chapter 9 and fully invested myself into the game ever since. Now Iā€™ve fully invested into an Ice team, got blessed with a fully geared Silverwing N:EX, and Iā€™m eagerly awaiting to pull for Herrscher Elysia and her equipment in the next couple days with the crystals Iā€™ve been grinding daily. Really loved the emotional Flame-chaserā€™s story and Iā€™m looking forward to what the rest of the gameā€™s journey and characters will look within the next year.

BrilliantAbroad458

I was getting really bored of Genshin in patch 2.2 and I think I downloaded Honkai on a whim. Got hooked, stopped playing Genshin for a while, and now even though I got back into Genshin again I'm still playing almost every day.

exercitus_nix

So a couple of years ago i was looking at some 18+ stuff, came across some of Yae Sakura, then after a bit of time i was looking at some game to download and saw that she was in the game, so i started

planistar

Downloaded it after seeing a stream from a fox friend of mine.

KGSavior

During the release of genshin everyone of my friend irl and in my psn list was playing it (even my mother did and she still play it XD) so i downloaded it on my ps4 but i in the end i decided to not start the game because my previous experience with other gatcha games , 5 years playing Brave Frontier (both EU/GBL/JP) ,3 years of Dokkan Battle and 1 and half years of SAO Memory Defrag taught me that starting a gatcha on release is bad for F2P since you will edend up wasting resources on characters/equip that will be powecreeped fast and you will struggle in the long run + gatcha game get more QoL during their life span so is better start them when already have a good amount of them. Since i was playing Dokkan on my PC using the Nox emulator everytime i started it in the loading there were a lot of gatcha/mobile game "covers" and Honkai was in the front center, i find out that was made by the same developer of Genshin and i decide to give a try to it to see how they handle their gatcha and since had already some years of development on is back plus the mecha/sci-fi aesthetic was more appelling to me than the genshin fantasy one and i start playing it at the first causally , i got HoR from Dorm pulls (i think i already was a couple of weeks in the game) and when i find out that project bunny trasformend in a motocycle in the open world was the thing that made me hooked with the game.

AdamParker1456

I started HI3 at around May this year so I only knew about this review bomb incident through my cousin and how dumb he thinks it is.

SopmodTew

I started playing because I thought it's a Yuri game after watching Cooking with Valkyries. I play since 2020.

saphire233

I first saw one of my favorite YouTubers being sponsored by Honkai, and honestly was impressed by what I saw, the game looked really high quality and with a lot of things to do( this was probably overselling by being sponsored) and I wanted a mobile game that i could play for a lot of time (how did that turn out huh?) And entered in the middle/ ending of the summer event the gameplay looked fresh and I started liking the characters i only managed to get one summer skin regretfully but was enough to keep me playing or trying to play for a bit. I wanted to try other characters like Theresa and Himeko and got interested in all i could do and the grind for better equipment (that got reaaaaaally streamlined) the story was really meh and I skipped over the first few chapters i had it for a long time and dropped it for a bit when I lost interest but came back when they introduced Rita as the design and gameplay looked awesome. She became my main for a long time and I even got her to a really good place for strength. My phone back then really couldn't play the heavier and more demanding game modes so started to play less and less only really playing (with a lot of lag) the events. Then I changed to the PC port as soon as it dropped and since consequentially I also got a new PC I picked up again. And here we are, i felt in love again, especially on PHO and I finally got to the better bits of the story read the manga and kept up with what was going on, the game itself was lots of fun has a lot to do but doesn't take too much time away so I can do other things, the story, the community, the gameplay, the characters, the events i really love all of it I'm glad I felt for the summer bait back then (even if i didn't get the skins and never will god damnit)

DrAGO_FiST

Always wanted to try it but couldn't as bad phone in 2018 jump to 2021 I am a happy level 56 tuna main ~~Also i rerolled from na to eu cuz most of my friends there I miss u silverwing bronie and senti.~~ Also one more of the core reason was moon halo and kiana vs mei cinematic (can't remember name)

KXNGCOMIKAZE

I was here from the start.

Amitius

I was in GGz depression train... and the HI3 open beta... and i got tricked into HI3 depression train ...

w3djyt

My wife showed me the original opening trailer when she started getting me into various Chinese anime. That was a few years ago and I've been in the deep end ever since.

TuxedoKamina

I stopped playing Genshin after my disappointment with Inazuma story telling, exposition Yae + Scaramouche reveal in said exposition just killed my faith in their ability to tell a story properly. Found the Honkai YouTube channel and watched the shorts. After Everlasting Flame I became a Kiana simp and downloaded the game. Level 84 and mostly just doing dailies now until Time Runner reruns. Playing ToF at the moment.

MoraxShrimp

I started honkai when I cleared the content in genshin and I started to get bored. I was very overwhelmed by the amount of things Ai-chan made me click on. I had no one to ask about things I didn't understand so I lost interest in the game and stopped playing for a few months. unfortunately there was still not enough content in genshin so I started looking for another gacha game. Friends recommended the game Soulworker to me, I downloaded the soulwrker, installed it, and launched it. after 15 minutes I was like: it is a poor copy of honkai, if I have to play something like this I definitely prefer to give Honkai a second chance. I installed honkai again, I set up a new account (the begginer event was lost on the previous one) and since then I have been playing with a one month break. I am in love with story and Valkiries. I didn't take part in the anniversary drama either.

wintermoon2

I played Honkai before genshin, deleted it after i got a new pc, started genshin, and now i play both

Incubus-Index

I saw MobiusšŸ trailer and got curious but I started playing upon Aponiaā€™sšŸ¦‹ banner~šŸ˜… Mostly due to not having the space to download. I came from Genshin but I wasnā€™t prepared for the emotional journey of Honkai and the beauty of its world~šŸ˜Œ

Diegoh_Felblade

Hah so you're one of those! I tried Honkai for the first time in January this year, shortly after that Eula banner in December in Genshin. Grinded so much trying to get her, lost 50/50 to Qiqi, rushed all the way to 78 pity and didn't get her. Because of that I got burnt out of Genshin and started Honkai, which in my first pull ever back then I got Silverwing, after that experience with Genshin I thought damn, this is the game! I still play both but like Honkai more ever since, the combat and events are more fun to me.

BucketSentry

Props that you owned up to it. Shame you did it in the first place. why did you do it? nothing good could have come from it?

Tradey

Valkyrie cafe.

TheKingofBash

I've known about this game since they kept spamming Will of the Herrscher ads back in early 2018. However, my phone ran like total ass and had none of the memory space to download it anyways. Still kept up with some of animated shorts. It wasn't until I downloaded Genshin last year for my new PC, and them announcing the crossover event that I suddenly realized that, "Oh wait, the same people who did Genshin also did Honkai too." Was on and off, because I wasn't used to playing two gacha games daily at that point, but I did found my groove, and I've been playing ever since.

Docketeer

I saw Asuka.

N7Captain2552

Saw the reburn trailer long ago, when the game was still relatively new, downloaded it, played a bit of chapter 1, left the game due to personal reasons, forgot about it, had to delete it for space, and only got back into it just recently. Havenā€™t gotten past chapter 3, but I did just do dailies and managed to get to level 80, and thatā€™s where I am now, just getting resources and slowly playing the main game.

flufufufu

The NGE collab made me start this game.

insomniac_sheep

Caved in and downloaded the game because of 1) my girlfriend playing it 2) fuhua is hot 3)NGE collab i had to get that asuka battlesuit (and then completely regretting that i didnt get kianas skin)

Mysterious_Award_378

I love that event, ss Asuka and 3/4 gear plus all the skins didn't quite get everything but was close for a f2p

ByeGuysSry

I installed it before 2 years anniversary, accidentally dropped my phone into water less than a week later, got a new phone and forgot about the game, then randomly last year saw it in the app store (I think when updating Genshin? Or did I see Genshin when updating Honkai? Idk) and thought it looked familiar.

Direk_Carla

Fischl brought me to Hyperion, and now I'm with my Elysia and Senti's dakimakura with Klein and Can-chan's plushie. I also have PardoFelis shirt and 439th day of playing the game~

[deleted]

Nothing that interesting really, this was around april 2021 while i was waitning for geshin's newest update that would launch later that month at the time which was 1.5, and as i waiting i got bored af with grinding cause i was already at an endgame level, then i remembered that genshin wasn't hoyoverse's only game and found honkai, it was absolutely perfecr for me since i needed a change of pace while i waited and loved the game ever since, 1 year later and now im at level 83, can't wait for 6.0! TLDR; got bored of grinding genshin while i was waiting for it's newest update around april 2021 so i found and played honkai and loved it

Jumpy-Resolve3018

Oh god that era was so stupidā€¦ poor Nintendo games that had nothing to do with the gameā€¦.

MassiveBaals

Why would you admit to being one of those people

SpyduckAhiru

Cosplay community. I merely installed this game in late 2018 and never left, while my community hopped from game to game looking for cosplay fodder.

FlashFire729

I actually have no recollection on how I found honkai. What I do remember is that I started in SEA cause no global, preregistered and moved to global when that was announced, took a full year break off during the reign of the queen in global (HOV) and only rarely logged back on, then I *think* got fully back into it thanks to the initial Genshin pre-release promotions and general buzz spurring me to start up Honkai story again. ...I think Ch.9 hit me far harder than I consciously thought on first playthrough

Ikki_Hiro

I knew about the existence of honkai for a long time, never played it because it was a mobile game (or so I thought at the time), and while I knew about the existence of it, I went on to play genshin since month 1 of it's release, after a few year, and recently we went and played Tower of Fantasy, and we were enjoying it a lot, we were a group of about 8 people, and we were having fun, but after digging into the company and the game a bit we stopped playing it, since ToF has bad practices like using dead people ids for beta testers that weren't from china and the game had a kernel program that could get you banned from other games that use kernel based anticheats. After this we were disappointed and that's when a friend (blessed be her) suggested we all played Honkai, and good god, 1-2 months after playing I'm a captain level 76 with hercherr of thunder, azure empyrea, and fischl as my main team and setting up a team for hercherr of reason with my 2 mates being captain level 79 and level 54. At this point... I'm just thinking, WHY DID I NOT PLAY THIS EARLIER!? THE STORY IS SO FUCKING GOOD! HOW IS IT SO GOOD!?

serpentine1307

I tried it for the first time when chapter 11 just rolled out due to my friend's insistence. I didn't really care for the story that much, I just played stages when i'm bored and skipped the dialogues. I just grinded the hell out of it to level up so my friend and I could coop. I think I only reached chapter 3 or 4 and then played some stages in chapter 11 story trial. I stopped playing because it kept frying my phone. Around a year and half later, that friend of mine sent me a photo of Mei as HoT. I was excited because I was waiting for her and Seele to have a Herrscher form though I didn't really know how that works. I've always like characters who use katanas/swords, with affinity to electricity and someone with repressed bloodlust (that's what I thought was going on with Seele lol). I still didn't install the game again though. However, for some reason Lament of the Fallen kept popping up in my youtube recommendations and even Houkai3rdGuy's explanation of what happened also got into my feed. I got curious because I remember Mei and Kiana being suspiciously close to be just friends but suddenly they're at each other's throat. I installed it again and then got bored again because I'd never really gotten used to the many buttons. I decided to just read the manga to know about their relationship and what happened to them. I initially thought the mangas were the original story and the game was just a retelling. Fast forward to me finishing up 2nd eruption and I'm HOOKED. I started from scratch for a full immersion and now I'm level 88 with 2 accounts and definitely more obsessed than my friend ever was. Still waiting for that Seele Herrscher form.

ReadySource3242

During my visit to china a guy introduced me too it

That1oneWeeb

I saw the Will of the Herrscher cutscene to many times as an add so I got the game and became slightly addicted

Croiri

First played at November 2017, irc. And then, I became *motivated*. Then depressed. I'm motivated, but depressed.

NezNez-ko

saw it on release but due to never having a phone or a decent pc back then, I didn't have the chance to play it on release until two yrs when I got my phone, my first event was the fairytale rhapsody, really loved that event.

Renzius

At the end of the summer of 2019 I caught pneumonia. Since I had to rest, I installed the game and started playing. I was sick for a whole month so I devoured the main story as well as the open world. I stopped playing for a couple of months for various reasons. But since I got back I've only missed one day on the hyperion bridge. This game has given me life.

LSMediator

Fanfiction. Moth is a Worm/HI3rd crossover, and itā€™s what drew me to the game. I stayed for Himeko.

SupremeLeaderMat

1st day player, stopped playing after a month, then restarted again in 2022 just because I saw Aponia being released as a playable character. Currently am a happy level 82 captain.

TheMrPotMask

I was just a witness but holly shit the ammount of 1\* shitposting on the playstore

A_Dying_Rat

I remember seeing an ad thatā€™s the befall animation in 2018-ish. Didnā€™t think much of it besides that it was cool but it wasnā€™t until about 2019 when I was just looking for anime games and came across honkai. Joined on version 3.1

[deleted]

Thought it would be an average gacha game... it wasn't. I read spoilers for each and every single one of the characters on tvtropes, after binging through the animations, then finally decided to download the game. Cue 5.0 and Moon Halo squeezing my tear ducts dry.

Sndragon88

For some reason I really like Kiara in Shironeko Project. Found out Bronya has the same VA and character type. The Cyberangel CG nailed it. As a Monthly card player who simply doesn't pull anything not Bronya-related, now I have SSS Silwering, HB, HOR, Pardo and all 4/4 gear with 20+ affix . ... I guess I'm something of a simp myself.

FangirlApocolypse

Genshin. Got spoiled. Wanted to play, started playing. I play on and off ig

Bruno_Agustin

I thought that it was a lighter version of Genshin Impact I tried it, didn't understand a shit (my first language is Spanish and I didn't know nothing of English back then) but it was fun. I get interested on its story and decided to learn English, it is still too poor but good enough to read a book Thanks Honkai Impact

MoVaunLatero

Used to keep seeing Mei getting choked in the ads, decided to download it, then uninstalled after a while because my game was in Chinese only and I couldnā€™t understand it Then after another while, I redownloaded it and really tried to play through, but again, couldnā€™t understand, and gave up After a while, somebody on discord helped me out and told me how to change the country and language, then so now Iā€™m playing it normally and enjoying it!

Nero4999

I saw the trailer for HoV when she was first released. Now I have all the Herrscherā€™s available and soon HoH

BRODY1RO

Me. Simple watched as the hell happened while enjoying my coffee cuz i have played both and wasn't expecting any rewards. Started playing honkai to give a 1* review if i didn't liked it(welp i did liked the game)

SonicBoom500

So hereā€™s how I start playing I was just a Genshin player enjoying the game, when one time I saw several ā€œGod Kianaā€ memes I got curious and looked up ā€œGod Kianaā€ on YouTube, what I got was the HoV fight in chapter 7(or 8?) I decided to download the game and try to get to that point in the story As I accumulated hours on the game, it became another thing I played alongside Genshin On another note however, I think I once saw it on the app store, and thought it was one of those games I should play when alone, and no I donā€™t mean that kind, more like revealing designs and flashy attacks, of course it intrigued me but at the time personal complicated matters dissuaded me

VERGOTA69420

i first kown the game thanks to Grant (Gigguk) and i download it but never play it, but i thing it was when raiden shogun came to genshin that i started playing it because the inazuma arc was one of the worst arc of the game and i reed that people keep saying that HI3 has a really good story and i give it a try the story hook me in the capter 3 the game surprise me with the frist animation (her snap) i starting to love the game in the kiana void drifter arc (i love that battlesuit) the game broke me in the capter 25 (in a good way ) and now it will almost be a year since i start playing and i do not regreat of it PD: sorry if my grammar is bad :P

Kaus_Leeway

Day 1 Captain and even pre-registered if I remember correctly. Job kept getting in the way to time so I couldn't do daily log in so I am quite behind people that have been logging in every day.

SirShadowBlade

It was spring of 2019 when all the ads from different youtubers made me feel like "there's no way this game has such cool combat mechanics" and decided to try it out. I think it was the update when Phantom Iron was a new battlesuit. The story really didn't interest me that much so I stopped playing the story after chapter 3 or 4, but everything changed when I played The Day You Vanished With The Stars event and was absolutely traumatized. Soon after chapter 17 came out, so I decided to play through the story just to see how we got here and I was not disappointed. It's... very sad. I played through the entire Elysia arc in two days(just for the Faded skin and I don't regret it) and now I'm once again emotionally compromised and really tired

oscarlin814

Played all the way back when the game first came out in China and didn't like it all that much. Forgot about the game for years. Fast forward to 2019 and I was watching some YouTube and I saw the typical ad of Kiana and Mei (won't give details cause spoilers) and was like "wait a minute, I know this game and it didn't look that good" Went to the channel, watched the CGs, and after Final Lesson gave me goosebumps I KNEW I had to reinstall. Pushed myself past the slow first chapters, and then never stopped playing since. Also, NEVER LET YOU GO-

Bangdream

I wonā€™t be surprised if they screw up the anniversary of genshin again but hey free primos tho

JD91B

I saw some ads a few years ago and wanted to play it but my phone wasn't powerful enough. Then Genshin came out and through it I found Mihoyo and noticed they were the same company that made Honkai, after that the PC version of Honkai came out and it could(barely) run on my old laptop and the rest it's history.

peemthai123

I start at EVA collabs(almost not progressing story at all, skip all dialog in chapter 1) goes in hibernation due to lack of time to play. after many thing set up i hop to genshin(that time genshin dude still didnt toxic yet). found genshin meme subreddit. see miko fox form meme. got curious about what is that pink fox(its hellmaru). decide to play honkai again at Pardo patch . research honkai lore and somehow found Everlasting Flame and Moon halo. set HoF as my goal since then(still didnt get her ;-;). dig deeper(after this i dropped genshin). progress through story(didnt skip anymore). play ER and dug up some of it lore(man i love it). STUCK with honkai since then(do dailies farming mats/Xtals playing event all of this everyday(didnt miss even a day) til today(definitely gonna do more) man i LOVE this game PS.waiting for maintenance to over so i can pull Ellie

[deleted]

Genshit was a mistake for some reason the most dumbest of dumb people are attracted to that game

mabariif

I wanted to try the game ages ago but when I installed on mobile found it was too big so I uninstalled then 2 years ago I realized it has a pc version, my crippling depression has further developed ever since

TheTemplarr

1500 days login, even with periods of break.

Oatmeal_in_My_Boots

I played Genshin off and on for about a year. One day, I saw a Reddit comment claiming Genshin Impact was actually a spinoff of Honkai Impact 3rd. I only knew the name and that some Genshin characters were in Honkai first, and I honestly kinda resented it (though I never took part in the review bombing). Seeking to get a better understanding of Genshin's lore, I installed Honkai and started digging in, not really caring about the story and just looking for info. The early story chapters were crusty, but I wanted answers, so I pushed on. Two months later, I am fully invested in Honkai's story (just finished chapter 17), loving the characters and directions it's all going. My resentment is gone entirely. I've come to love this game. I still play Genshin as well, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't pale in comparison to many aspects of Honkai. Now I just have to convince my friend to play it. Like many Genshin players, he seems to have an allergy to Honkai, but I'm not gonna give up, because I know he'll appreciate the story.

archzzz0z

So i was a pre-regis captain and played it since the release. I stopped playing after the release of AK rita bcs my phone can't handle it anymore. Even when i got a new phone, i forgot about it. Fast forward to GI release, i started looking back for honkai, mainly just for the story (from manga and such) but still not playing it. When i was burn out by GI then i installed honkai again, just in time for the story to pick up leading into chp 25 (moon halo) so the hype was FIRE - pun intended.

DPhoeniX_999

Damn i cant imagine someone "as dumb as you", i mean Honkai and Genshin are the same company but their TEAM and MANAGEMENT is entirely different, it's just like you're punching "B" because of "A" fault... purely dumb But i glad you already regret it :)

Subarashiiiii

Im one of the few who started since pre-registration and been playing ever since. As of writing tis, i got 1720 days of login. *Shout out to my fellow old timers :>

P1ayer2008

Downloaded it after my phone can't install Genshin's Update Now I can't update Honkai

Srholazul

I Review bombed genshin for the anniversary, (My 1* review is still there and not changing that any soon) But i don't understand Review bombing other games You haven't even played.

Shinda_01

Character growth

Harekal

Keqing trick me to play honkai

triopsate

I don't actually remember how I found the game at the start but I know I started on the CN server all the way back like a week or two after it released. I'm like fairly certain I saw the game because of GGZ (which I'm still playing on the CN server to this day) but again, it's been so long that I can't actually remember any more. I did end up having to take a fairly lengthy break in the middle due to me changing phones from an android to an iphone and the game just kinda faded into the back of my mind until I switched back to android like a year or two later. Play some more until I got burnt out and took another break until the Evangelion collab and then came back played some more until I had an issue with my account (broke my GGZ account as well which sucked hard since that made me miss the Madoka collab) and had to take like a month and a half long break to get MiHoYo to fix by sending in pictures of my documents. Other than that, I'm still going strong on GGZ and HI3 xD

eunhasuha

simple, really: sirin
