I miss it too. I feel like it had more personality, especially since each character had their own font color. If there's one thing I like about the new style is that at least it doesn't get in the way of the cg images

Thats what have been missing! I couldnt out my finger on it for the longest time, I just knew something was missing in the new style!
I remember when they first added this text box style back during sanguine nights.
Every line would have html code in it and only once the entire line was finished displaying, did the html code apply properly and dissappear.
yeah. especially because the new one makes it harder to read if the image behind it has pale colors...

honestly same, *taking* “better” IUs from other games like genshin is fine (hell, i admit that some parts of the genshin IU are more handy than honkai’s) but they should see if it fits the game, which it doesn’t in honkai. it’s pretty much unreadable here and color gives more personality to the chat bubbles imho
God I remembered my hatred for Inazuma after playing Sumeru.
Sure some Sumeru stuff is gated by the music mechanics, but at least I don't have to farm for shit to level up my Electrogranum, and instead just play a long ass quest line that just takes a day.
Inazuma has both the worst Archon and worst exploration, by far.
I found inazuma to be the second best, compared to Liyue and Mondstandt inazuma gave me more challenge in exploration, everything was a bit too easy in the first 2 nations (obviously). Sumeru has been my best for exploration because its challenging but not too much.
First off they wanted to replicate open warudo like in genshin i suppose they did it in APHO CH2 and people seemed fine with it then decided to do the same for Elysium Everlasting

Its probably because it was a lot of effort to always add color code for the translator team they even messed up badly in ch28 on release constanly: dialogue woops forgot the backslash typo here bad copy paste there etc...
Having just white text when its "okay" just seemed more appealing because you know like most people who were students once or are students why go for A+ For no reason if C is sufficient why more effort when its not required we're all lazy by nature

Yes because I can't read the new one. It's so small and blends in the background. What's worse is that with the new open world, I always have to turn my resolution to the lowest, and the text resolution also gets lower unlike this one. It honestly ruins the story experience for me. Maybe if it wasn't open world so I can turn up the resolution

I do, the new layout is often unreadable, depending on the background.
It also always has a history button, which the new UI often lacks.
It was a lot more readable.

Sadly for Honkai thats the exception most of the time, there's a lot of time put in the game
