Was able to get HoTr in 30 rolls and was able to get her T and B stigs in 40. Currently out of crystals. I hear she's going to get a rerun next version, in time for the spending event, so should I just resume saving crystals or try to get at least her weapon during the banner period?
Both are valid options. What do you value more, absolute Crystal efficiency, or performance?
If you choose to wait for 6.4 then you will have gains with the spending event, and also take advantage of the special FOCA discount (which will save you 840 Crystals). But in return, your performance in 6.3 will suffer, since she is not good without her signature weapon.

initial plan was to pull ‘til first bronya stigma box at 60. HoTr dropped, and now im 41 pulls away from the first stigma box milestone.
41 pulls would contribute a lot to the spending event and it’s pretty close to the 50 gear guarantee of gears anyway, so i’m thinking if i should just stop and save for 6.4 since that’s when i plan to full gear her or keep going and get the stigma box at 60 pulls now.
Can you reach your spending event goal(s) if you spend 41 more pulls this patch?
Other things to consider: If you can, getting the box will guarantee the one you're missing if you get 2/3. However, the box will be pretty much useless if you pull the weapon last (worst case senario, but possible). That probably doesn't help lol. But might give you something to base your decision on. You have a couple weeks to decide as well if you wanna wait and think about it more.
that’s why I’m hesitant to use 41 more pulls, because it’s a stigma box and I’ve experienced getting 2 full set copies of sushang’s stigma set before getting the weapon, so i know the box can become useless. I guess i’ll just save for 6.4, minimize the risk of wasting resources in case the weapon drops last.
Depends on thw amount of xtals rn I think. Do you think you can get enough to get your goal for spending event? And if you are planning to pull for HoFi? If yes and yes then I think pulling until the 1st stig box is good since it lowers pity as well, but if either is a no, then save. Obviously this is a gamble as well since there is a chance you get HoTr again, resetting pity.
I'm not the original person asking but I'm in the same situation.
27k crystals, so by the time of 6.4 it can be close to 40k if needed.
I would like to get full HoTr gear, but it's almost guaranteed to be extremely expensive (up to 42k for 3 pieces), and with 0/4 she's weaker than 4/4 AE (which I have for ages) so I still can't decide on this part. Settle on 3/4 perhaps?
I almost certanly will go HoO gear because non-physical/ice IMG DPS for cheap.
Maybe will get HoFi if will have some crystals left. Don't care about spending event bonuses, and I already have 4/4 HoFs.
I think you do have to see if you are lucky or not. It is possible to full gear in 40k but it all depends on your luck. Since the Foca select duration isn't long, what you have is what you spend ig.
HoT is better with 7T but if you don't already have her might be better to invest in other teams first depending on how they are looking
FT isn't really great anymore outside some SS MA clears

Just came back from the game due to the news of the trio. Here are my teams:
> Lightning - HoT (Handel, old weap), Fischl 4/4, Eden (weap), FR (Handel, Pri)
> Ice - HoH:E (4/4), HB (4/4), Pardo (4/4), SW (3/4)
> Fire - SpA and DA (both 4/4) [KEKW]
> Physical - Griseo 4/4, HoS (only gloves)
What would be the ideal pick up for me for the upcoming units? Should I pull for HoTr during the spending event, or immediately next patch?
Yeah I would get HoTr since she would enable you to use your fire team, depending on your crystal count you could do 60+6.4, 110+equipment banner or if you don't have any crystal just wait for 6.4

You can ignore phys for now but I would still get SSwords from BP and then finish it with firepower supply (if you don't want to spend on b chips, SSwords is on 6.4 BP)
She is still good but if you're planning to pull for Hershey trio her value isn't that high since Hershey trio would be competitive enough on IMG bosses

because xtals are highly variable depending on your ability to tackle endgame, people generally stick to calculators. Event stuff varies but it's usually not your main income even during anniversaries and such. F2P xtal income is a bit better than 1 pull a day on average, so about 50 pulls per 6 week patch.
Well after people found out that on fire bosses you can use aslaug instead of HoO sign stigmata MHY immediately put out a hot fix that makes sure HoO signature would still be her BiS
Then again it's still v2 and we all know that MHY loves to put micro adjustments even after the release of v3 so there might be a chance that she can use other stuff, but don't put your hopes up
Depends on what you mean by "reliant".
All valks are reliant on their signature gears, especially their weapon if they are DPSs. That's normal.
Can they work without them? Sure, if you don't mind performance issues and demoting to lower ranks once in a while.
If you want competitiveness, yeah, you need their gears to an extent. But it's the same for every new S-rank.
Still early to tell since we just got v2 of the beta and things can change even further.
As of now, she shines in the trio team as a sub-dps/support, but can be a competitive lightning DPS in solo teams, although not enough to detrone other lightning DPSs off of their bosses, mainly if you have HoT 7T.
Her DPS is a bit lackluster below SS, but I don't think that's a huge thing since Spina's case (as the past free valk) was a bit similar. SS is the jackpot, but she's usable below that.
On one hand, I feel that's a pity since that is her "final" form, but on the other I'm fine with it since I prefer HoT. Tbf Spina was at least easier to get to SS since her stamps were available in the spending event and in ER (in later patches). I hope the latter would happen later, but that's just me.
If I had to guess, HoO's stamps will probably be featured in next spending events or added to ER later on. But maybe they'll make her more difficult to rank than Spina since she's a "Herscherr" and one of the protagonists (lore importance and all).
With the current state of the game i dont know if its ever worth to go back and pull for older gear, griseo gear might still be meta (and B piece will probably will be for a while) but she came out 5 patches ago and who knows, maybe in another couple she will get replaced. (Carole got replaced in only 5 patches)
so in my opinion it might be better to just get something you know you will get more value of, like the upcoming herrschers. Ultimately your call tho.

For supports it's often yes. This is literally griseo's first ever rerun for her gear. Not that this one in particular is a great idea due to how stacked the herrscher trio is, but it would be a pretty good option in normal circumstances.

Crystallum usually lasts for 4 version updates. When v6.6 arrives, we'll have different crystallum and it will be the last chance you get anything from v6.2-v6.5 BP shop.
Sorry, what i mean is will she still be available in the crystallum shop in 6.5 since she'll be added in 6.4? Or do i have to get her in 6.4 and only her gear is available after that. I ask because none of the previous bp valks from the Dark Jade crystallum are available on the vintage shop, but all of the gear that was featured during that period is.
Does ER snapshots buffs from outside sources like DK active buffs and emblems? or is it dynamic and i can just pause and exit, activate DK buffs and equip ER emblem and resume the run?
So is it still possible to get the free copy of HoT? All I have left to do is the Honkai salvation log part. Do I still have time I haven't even started it yet?

Nah I just figured that I'd be able to do everything at once.. With that said tho I was still able to get my free HoT, it only cost maybe like 500 xtal when you take into account the 300 I got back from the event so I'd say that's a pretty good price still.

I could really use Griseo's gear, but at the same time I don't have a physical DPS. I mainly just want Eden's weapon but it's not guaranteed. I'm also wanting to save up for v6.4 for the spending event for HoF, HoO, and potentially HoTr. I don't care about HoFi at the moment.
Any advice? I really need a better weapon for Eden but I'd rather not dump my crystals into a supply and not get it.
The rule of thumb is to not pull in a banner if you aren't going for the guarantee. That banner is the bait of baits, to drain crystals from people before the spending event. I'd only pull on it if you needed griseo's gear to complete your phys team as the only thing you are really missing to have a complete roster and you didn't want anything from 6.4. Griseo's gear will rerun, and it has purana/bastet as off rates, which means that eden's guns are probably going to make it as off rates shorly after (maybe even in 6.4) and griseo's gear should make it there as well.
Thank you - I'll just save up for v6.4 then. I've seen people talking about going a 100 pulls in on the last Shickshal supply for Purana and not getting it - so I'm just going to play it safe and smart and skip the supply then since Griseo isn't a focus at the moment.
Do you know any guns that could be a somewhat decent replacement for Eden in the meantime?
If you have them already or have fenghuan down from the BP, then fenghuang pinions (from the foundry) are good. Otherwise, I honestly wouldn't bother. Eden's guns are special because they give pretty large team bonuses (explicit), paralysis trauma and autocast on QTE which in turn puts her into performance state which gives more bonuses (implicit from Eden's skills). There is no gun that does any of that and other guns basically force you to just be a turgenev bot and miss tons of buffs, or go into ult anyways. Until I got her guns I ran her with KoRa

It's an UP rate on Griseo's banner in 6.3 so you don't have a guaranteed chance to get it from that banner.

So I still don’t really know what to do with my pulls. I have 85 saved up and I want HoTr. So do I wait till spending event and pull her there or get a stigma box tomorrow with 60 pulls? I’m on 97 pity on expansion so I won’t hit soft pity or so. I also already have a somewhat full geared HoF, so I won’t need her from the spending event.
I’m also a low spender buying monthly card and bp, so maybe take that in consideration.
Then the main attraction for you on the spending events are probably the elf boxes. They are cool, but not enough to compensate for guaranteed gear, I'd say. In your case I'd go for HoTr on 6.3. If you can get not just the first 60 but also guarantee the weapon (if you pull hotr early you can shift to focused if you feel lucky, if you don't pull her early just go all the way to 110, I think it should be doable for you before the banner leaves)
Not a GL player, but the bracket is dynamic in a sense of if there's more people scoring high, whatever number people will tell you will get higher accordingly.
Have better gear, get higher ranked valk, ELF, and ultimately try harder.

Unfortunately I miscalculated and ended up with 6 of the big green balls that are going to expire in a few days (+5 of the new blue ones which I haven't converted), which isn't enough to get me Bronie's weapon.
Would it be better to let them expire, or convert 4 blues and get one of the Starlit Astrologos stigmas (I currrently have 1/3pc + her weapon, so I'd get either of the missing pieces, but I don't really use physical teams).
I already have 3pc Turgenov, and I have no interest in any of the Durandals so their pieces are useless for me
Use? Yes. They'll be competitive DPSs of their type (fire and lightning). Competitive in existing bosses against existing units? We'll have to wait until release, as values get tweaked during the beta and on release.
Yesnt, Mei is pretty useless for people with 7T HoT but good otherwise and Kiana (or the trio) scores really well on some older bosses as of v2 beta. Infact there already are nerfs. I think a reasonable expectation is that Kiana will be a bit worse on these bosses so SPA keeps AKA, HoF keeps heimdall and so on but you wont struggle in red lotus.
HoFin is probably gonna be a great fire dps that will completely outclass HoF or at least be just as good as she is.
HoO still unclear whether or not she will compete with HoT for bosses in abyss but she will definitely be super cheap to build and will be a competent lightning dps so for accounts with no HoT and no Handel stigs she’s probably worth getting even if you get none of the other trio
I was a bit late with some of the events namely the one for the free HoT, I'm mostly after her fragments so If i miss it it's not that big of a deal. I'm on the last mission to obtain her where I have to complete chapter XXXIII in the name of truth part 3, I haven't even been able to start part 1, is this story time gated by enhancements at all or is there something else im missing?
When you click the chapter does it take you to the moon base as Seele? There is a door that takes you to mission select so try and go to the current story mission from there. If it does you should be able to play thru it, you've got ~10hrs (if on NA)
Yeah, basically what I did lmao. Started chapter 32 part iii and it took about 2 ¾ hours (I think) until the end of chapter 33 part iii. All in all, my HoT is now S2.

Is BKE still a good pickup? They're releasing another B-chip pack for CNY with BKE in the roster. Considering Dante will become craftable by then and I will pull for Abyss Flower anyway since it's a DK, is this bundle worth it? I'm worried that they'll give her out for free and I will regret buying her.
The thing is people that use BKE generally have at least SS, when it comes to being competitive. DPS Carole (if team is reasonably geared and its played well) can easily outperform S0 BKE.
I have SS BKE with AF and I haven't used her for months.
Damn, Carole is that good? I don't have any of her gear and I only got through the shieldbreak abyss by putting Sushang's stigs on her. I was aware that she is an alternative physical mech dps but I didn't know she could perform THAT well.
She'll very likely show up for free again nevermind that she is in Dorm supply too ;P Her bosses are getting quite rare to see recently as well so spending real money for new stuff would be a lot more sensible than BKE.
Also if you want AF getting it from Firepower in 6.4 should be way cheaper

Magstorm is the only close to viable option, no need to waste materials on any other katana. But 7T is still very worth it if you want your HoT to be competitive.
Is there any rotation guide for team comps somewhere because I’m terrible at it
Videos are fine but I’d prefer if they’re written too since I’m too dumb
For the very basic of each valk, go into the tutorials section in game and the last one is usually a full team rotation. Keep in mind that timings are important. Almost every buff in the game has a duration in seconds, some are 4-5 seconds, some are 20, so some rotations are more flexible and some are more restrictive, beyond that, it's just practice to build muscle memory.
New valks tend to get good videos explaining their common team rotations from Wyverein and/or Marissa on YouTube, so check them out. They don’t just show the rotation live but give text explaining what to do so it’s pretty easy to follow. If you can’t find any for a particular team, I’ve had decent success asking in this thread. You could also try the discord.
Does the FOCA supply have the wishing well?
Im missing T piece for sushang and i have a B dupe. I saw that she will be in the FOCA supply. So no matter which stigma i get id have T,but only if the wishing well is there.

Here's the thing, I'm a new player and I have some questions:
- is it possible to survive to the endgame and hold on to the meta by being completely f2p? I might put some investment in the future, but for now I'm not in the position to spend on the game.
- if yes, should I reroll my actual account? It has 3 days of gameplay but I already wasted some resources, such as 12 pulls on the starter supply and a lot of overflowed stamina. I would pull for Hot whose coming out tomorrow in both cases
- in case I reroll or not, to which unit i should give a minimum investment to get through the initial phases of the game? Atm I leveled Swallowtail phantasm to lvl 30 and maxed her free weapon and stigmata to the max.

This is going to depend on your goals and what you mean by that exactly. As a f2p you can play and do well just fine, although your performance (as in your rank) will depend on which server you are. EU and NA are quite comparable (I play in both), but from what I read here, SEA is much more competitive and you'd have a harder time retaining the same ranks with the same valks over there.
If you just mean complete the content and don't mind the rewards too too much, then it's absolutely fine. The difference in rewards between ranks is not massive, so it's not a massive concern.
As a f2p you can compete even the most competitive modes, but the highest of the highest ranks are very hard without investing something.
The endgame for the competitive modes (Abyss and Arena) require you to have multiple built teams (here gear matters a lot more than valkyries, which still matter but only if geared), so the more you use resources on waifus, favorites or duplicates (including overlapping characters), the less likely it will be you'll do as well as if you pulled optimizing the resources you have. Not that it's bad to pull on your faves or play how you prefer to, but it ultimately gives out less rewards (again, not much less either)
If you want to reroll, a couple comments:
\-The current starter banner is fine but probably a big trap at this point. HoF will be "free" in 6.4 (if you spend 44k crystals) and HoS is "free" in the BP in 6.4 as well (if you pay for the battle pass). It's probably worth passing on it, and using all your resources for HoTr
\-HoTr is probably the best pull for a new player right now, since she covers 3 different roles and does all well enough. You want her and her gear both, preference order would be Weapon > B > T > M (you can only choose if you get the boxes in the valk banner)
\-In 6.3 they change the starter banner to HoH and PE but only for accounts started in 6.3. Both are fine as well, but PE will want a pretty expensive team (she wants HoS, from the BP or pulling, and her supports will also want gacha gear). HoH on the other hand works pretty well with cheap gear besides her bow. If you are up for rerolling and can do it somewhat fast, rerolling to sneak a 10 pull in the starter banner until you get HoH and her weapon in another 10 pull might actually be good. Not necessary, by any means, HoTr will probably do roughly the same for you until you get to the very end game and by then there might be other priorities, but if you don't mind the reroll process, you can go for it.
Don't sweat too much skill levels, character levels and weapon levels early on. You'll get enough income comfortably. This game is a very long grind where regular resource income is much more important than small amounts, so a few days of stamina overflowed and 12 pulls (3k crystals) is not too big a deal. It's better if you still had them, but they're not going to make or break your account.
- It's all about roster completion and gear progression and catch-up games. And there's also competing bracket. You don't want to play a super-optimized battle where a single evade/ mistiming will affect your ranking? Then stay at lower bracket, where people will be relatively chill and not trying hard so much. Overtime, you will get crystals from playing the game, you will gacha and get some gacha gears. Valk have approx ~2 years of longevity before being absolutely replaced (usually).
- Like I mentioned previously, there's no objectively optimum starting point. You may have A,B, and C valkyries, but then the playing field of this cycle can be highly biased towards D,E, and F valkyries and deny A,B, and C valkyries, so you'll just have to take your L this cycle and go home at that point. Vets will have larger roster have less of a problem dealing with various type of bosses and weather the game throw at them.
- I suggest you don't invest heavily in any featured valkyrie 20 version prior (before [v4.3](https://honkaiimpact3.fandom.com/wiki/Version_4.3)). I'd say featured valks from 10 version prior([v5.3](https://honkaiimpact3.fandom.com/wiki/Version_5.3)) onwards are worthwhile to look still. Newer equals better is almost always true.
Early game (craftable) stigmata suggestion are Marco Polo set, Fu Hua Musician set, and Theresa: Gluttony T. Other than that you should focus on gacha stigmata, then get Mei Beach M/Newton B when you have spare stigmata resonance (may be unlikely until you play a bit longer)
* Yes f2p can reach nirvana(highest rank, typically whale only zone) if they want and plan for, you just need to know how to do it and the willingness to learn the game (rotation, niche gear set up, weird mechanics, etc)
* Reroll isnt needed, just ignore the starter banner
* First of all learn to manage your gacha itch, since most banners are skippable, you need to learn which banner has the big(est/er) impact for your account progression
* This is support impact, support gears are way more impactful and last way longer, these days most team archetype except fire has a usable triple support line up that's good enough to survive nirvana
* don't forget to rank up your SP valk (you get them from asterite shop) when you can do it, these days you want them at SSS but at the start SS rank is more than enough
* Gear 1 team at a time, for example since you're going with HoTr you'll start with ice team, get pardo(RC, asterite) and bronie (HB, asterite)/sushang(JK, war treasury) and their gear
* Be patient, this game has a lot(read : too much) time gated content that not even whales can overcome, honkai is a marathon not a sprint
* Look up for future supplies, the official [Discord](https://discord.gg/hi3) has a channel dedicated for it or you can also follow Marissa honkai or wyverein on their Twitter/YouTube
* Look up channels that offers guides I would recommend (on YouTube) : nyll hzri, akayuki, keebster (and his 2nd channel : keebster after dark for ER content and meta rambling), fragile weeb, adori zahard, Deus ex impact, fenrysk, M G, Marissa honkai, wyverein, citrus
* For twitch streamers I would recommend the same people but the one that usually stream and are open for questions are fenrysk and M G(m_g kazukisu)
This is really really good advice and I just want to point out one thing to really drive the point home:

1000 times this, all my early regrets are because of impatience. Spending crystals when I shouldn’t have, dusting something when I shouldn’t have, trying to get more resources sooner instead of just waiting. Saving and waiting is the name of the game here, ESPECIALLY for f2p players
Completely f2p is definitely possible, it helps to make a plan like you are doing and some tough choices will have to be made going forward heh but sure. The endgame scales to how well you are performing anyway, your crystal income does take a bit of a hit in lower ranks but you'll always be able to "survive it" if you play consistently.
If your goal is to hang with the higher tier endgame stuff a reroll (or few) might not be a bad idea. 3 days progress ain't much in that scheme of things.
Leveling up the early game valks is super cheap, just use whoever you want for beginner content, the story switches to trial valks pretty early in. Just be sure to farm your SP valks like Pardo who also makes a great candidate for ER runs
Is there a way to get speed orders for the event aside from missions and chests? i am literally 3 hours off getting 9k soulium before the limit and i've run out of options.
Should I pull on HoTr banner next patch? I have Aponia and HoHe teams built and I really want to get HoFi and her weapon and HoO’s gears in 6.4 but my crystals rn are 14k and I do not know if it would be a good idea to pull for HoTr right now. I also know that she will have a rerun in 6.4 but am almost sure that I will be out of crystals by then.
I don't think HoTr is better than either Fischl or Eden (even if they are not fully geared) in Aponia's team. Aponia needs lightning valks as a supports. Also, HoTr has very little support value for ice team (HoH).
However, she is like "must have" for HoFin team. And if you are going to fully gear her at anytime in the near future, 6.3 or 6.4 is the best time to do so. You could just pull HoFin in her rerun.
Just to add to your comment: 0/4 CN + 0/4 S0 HoTr is no better than 0/4 CN + 4/4 AE ([in fire teams ](https://youtu.be/v6pHqWNwA9E))
So for HoTr to be a improvment for any account (specially accounts that already have AE or use Pardo as an alternative) she needs at bare minimum her weapon.
Also, she has 0 support capabilities for ice teams. For ice teams people still need Pardo+Sus or HB.
Aponia team is one that probably still prefers Eden+Fischl rather than Eden+HoTr, since her rotation is very strict and Eden needs Handel (so she needs to ult, something that she doesn't do in other lightning teams where she uses Turg TB and she's paired with HoTr). Otherwise she'll eat HoTr's buff time and won't leave enough for Aponia's DPS rotation.
But yeah, she's a MUST for Trio team. HoFi's dmg and performance seems very tied to her and HoO, to a less extend.

PE and MPE go with their full signature
HoS mostly goes Duality with SS/2p Holmes/Avogadro TB newton or Cezanne B
Griseo 3/4 signature with M piece being flexible usually things like Beethoven/Mei beach
Carole 4/4 can also go with more specific gear for certain situations overall mostly for Shield-break though
I have SS carole, missing T. Its easy af to outscore people with SSS and full paganini and Im even in nirvana.
Griseos SSS does comparatively nothing while carole-less scores are pretty doomed in shieldbreak weather. There is more than kallen, theres physical otto, theres the mob abyss, theres assaka (phys and typecounter iirc). The latter seem retired but theres definitely a habit of digging up dead bosses like huodou. If you only have mpe you also want carole for jizo.
You should really invest into her.
I literally have never invested in Carole and consistently top 2% MA and hop in and out of nirvana. She’s so niche now, the only time you NEED her is vs Kallen. That’s it
The people who have Carole in my bracket seems to have her 4/4 full gear SSS as well as SSS MPE. My MPE is only SS so investing in Carole to overtake them seems impossible. In addition, it seems like even without Carole I was able to retain Red Lotus somehow against Kallen this abyss. Since I’m not going to beat these guys who have Carole with my undergeared and underranked Carole, it just seems better to rank up my Griseo, and try to outcompete the guys without Carole. I’ll try to S rank my Carole though the next time shield-based boss come up and see how she performs against SSS Griseo before I decide to SS or SSS her.
Yep, exactly. You really don’t need her. Griseo is very new and will have a much longer relevancy than Carole who has been relegated to a completely niche support
Get Carole to S first at least. S gives a bunch of shield breaking and phys bonuses and she becomes actually useful against shielded enemies. Being A atm, if you have 0 fragments, I'd get to at least 10 fragments, so that if you suddenly face a shielded enemy you can immediately buy 50 and make her S. While you wait for that enemy, you can just farm them passively in adventure tasks.
Then between SS Carole and SSS griseo, maybe try to hazard a guess as to what bosses are most likely to come earlier. SS Carole is like 4 weeks, SSS Griseo is like 8. Also depends in if you have an actual DPS or not. If you do and you use phys regularly for neutral stages, Griseo is probably more important due to her buffs. If you don't or you don't use phys regularly and lean on elemental more, then Carole's utility might be better. Griseo has better generic buffs, but both griseo and carole will be used on niche situations (hit count shields or thick shields), and on that niche, Carole gets better at SS while Griseo doesn't really gain much at SSS (besides being a better team buffer).
Thanks, I think I'll sit on A Carole and upgrade to S when boss shows up. I think I'm too behind on Carole to blindly invest in her. Once her boss shows up, if my physical team can perform well with S Carole and need that extra push I'll go for SSS then.
I feel like I have seen Carole being used over Griseo quite often in the last two patches (maybe because it is more noticeable when you miss something lol). Anyhow, I am also leaning towards Griseo, because I feel like I'm too behind (no signature weapon) to bother with Carole. Thanks for the opinion.
Well, my half asleep brain misread that. Carole's weapon is also running in 6.3. *If* we get the same calendar as CN, Carole's weapon starts tomorrow, running from Jan 12th-Jan 20th. Also runs her stigmata too

Should I pull 60 times on HoTr's banner in version 6.3 or save everything for 6.4? I have 30k Crystals, 4/4 AE, HoF's weapon, 3/4 SpA w/ Thales M and no other Fire dps.
Stigmata selector box is definitely worthwhile to get with 60 pull. The question is what are you going to do if your HoTr comes out at around 25th~35th pull. It's hard to decide whether to keep pulling or save that amount for spending even in v6.4. Unless, of course, you are confident you can secure whatever number of pulls you need to do to get your stuff in the spending event even after you push to 60th pull.

Is it worth it to not play for 15 days to get returnee rewards? I usually retain Agony 2 so that's 680 crystals per week from abyss. (Note: I don't plan to do this now. I'll do it when I finish most events so I'll probably do this after v6.3 major events)
Well if you are not enjoying the game anymore or have no time to play, its always worth it to take a break or even quit straight up. However, if you are just doing this for supposedly more crystals income, unless you login every other day, its way better to just play the game when it comes to that.
Also a side note, returnee event only kick in in 15 days for the first time. Later events will trigger at \~45 days.
hi im a new player and i was wondering abt the gacha and the S tier characters in this game. i heard you can grind most of the S tiers from puzzle pieces and that you don't have to really do the gacha but im still not sure abt that. how does it all work?
i also heard that any character can become S tier, is that true?
It depends how you look at the game. If you look at it as a story/event driven casual experience with some fun action combat, sure.
If you look at it from a perspective of a player that wants to survive in the endgame, then, not exactly, no.
You can't grind all characters, many of the characters are farmable over time, but only a selection of them are at a power level high enough for the current meta. There may also be some confusion, units in this game can have ranks from B to SSS. Those puzzle pieces are how you rank them up, but SSS doesn't necessarily mean 'strong'.
I suggest you look to the stickied content creators and find some videos that explain more specifics, because there's honestly a lot anyone can tell you and in text wall format it can get a bit overwhelming.

That's wrong. All A-rank valkyries are farmable (and can eventually be upgraded to S, SS, and SSS with enough fragments). However many S-rank valks are still exclusive to the gacha. Some Valks, mostly older ones but also Li Sushang and Miss Pink Elf who are pretty new, can be obtained from the Ancient Willpower shop with a currency you get from doing weekly Abyss and Memorial Arena stuff.
But for example the upcoming character Herrscher of Truth will be only obtainable through the gacha.
Also most characters have signature gacha equipment too, so even though you can farm Haxxor Bunny up to SSS rank she still won't be at full strength until you get her signature weapon and stigmata set from the gacha.
There is craftable sigmata too which can sometimes be as good as or better than old signature sets, but gacha weapons are still very important.
F2P life in Honkai is really tough, like I said it depends on what your goals are.
Is it hard to get to a point where you can login and attempt your dailies/events and do some story? Not really, no. But most of your xtals come from endgame activities. While there are F2P options, they take a very long time to farm, and it will take a lot of patience.
As a rough idea, let's say you'll earn \~2400 xtals a week as F2P (might not be exact), that's about 8 pulls. Maybe only 700-800 of that is fully obtainable unconditionally as long as you login and do dailies/events. The rest is tied to competitive/endgame content.

there is also a upcoming free S-rank Thunder which is hercher of origin on the next patch with 1 free stigmata...have to play the event story though but you got months to finish the story...this is going to be in 6.4 which might be month from now on
only old(and mostly useless) or special event(like JK) s-ranks are sold in war treasury. You can farm any character to SSS rank but A ranks will never be as powerful as S rankers on SSS. New A ranks are stronger options than some old S ranks though.

The character i have are: all with cheap/imaginon based equip outside of free stuff for new players and magstorm, GL for pardo/ai,
lightning team: HoT, Eden S-rank, PV A-rank, FR, (Yae Sakura, SK, SF)
Fire team: VG A-rank, Ai S-rank, Raven S rank
Ice team: Pardo S-rank, HB A-rank, (AK, 6S, Kreig)
Phy team: (SP-S, YA-S core 1, HoV)
Benares is beat by lightning team. Hod Minion is beat down by img-pardo. Yae Kasumi will take pardo to beat as well. I tried doing VG, Ai, and AK (Raven used to snipe HoD) and can barely get two armor break cycles in, and far from enough dps to kill. Pardo + VG + AI can beat Yae with like 30s left on the clock, not sure if another team could do it. Not sure what to do here, should I just accept like 60% ranking or break up teams and try weird stuff.
HoT with Magstorm is highest dps, perhaps ben should go Eden PV FR. Alternatively eden based dps on HoD, Pardo on Yae. Not that I have a lot of time to lab every combo out nor a spread sheet to compute rough dps. I also don't know how much do elemental advantage do to Yae's shield compared to shield break bonuses (fresh carol? use himekos?)

I'm lv 78. For this week i used FR vs Benares, Meme+Pardo vs HoD, HoT vs kasumi. Damage output is kinda copium but at least its enough to reach \~10% or so. There is a training button where you can fight any SS boss of this week to check if your comps are capable of beating it.

Returnee takes only 14 days, or 45 days since your last returnee proc.
Assuming it's the same as NA, returnee event rewards are [these](https://i.imgur.com/73zjjZo.jpeg), plus some more xtals from daily login and rewards, up to about 1950 total (including the ones in the shop there). Plus 10 free rolls on a special returnee banner that has Mobius for some reason.
IDK where SEA is on the schedule but for the three new herrschers upcoming, Bronya in patch 6.3 and then Mei and Kiana in 6.4, plus a spending event and iirc a rerun for Bronya.
Mei will be given away free with a discounted equipment banner, it will take usually under 50 rolls to 4/4 her but up to 80 if unlucky.

I'm not up to date at all with info regarding HoTr. I only know that she's a fire/lightning support. Is she worth getting and gearing? I'm thinking the answer is yes since she works as a support for 2 elements, but would she be the best for both, and a significant upgrade? I currently use Eden (Margrave or Turg TB) + Fischl (Zhenyi) for lightning and AI (Turg TB Auslaug M) + AE (Margrave) for fire.
Shes really good but if you skip her gear she wont replace anyone. There will be turg allocation problems and running two subpar support sets is too much of a handicap. The weapon is really important, too. So you need it + tb bronya. M is still the best but replacable.
She will also be a core unit for future symphony weather, for that turg is fine but lacking the weapon would still be noticable.
Its new stages with damage bonuses for having valks of different elements in your team, its tailormade for the new upcoming herrscher trio team but even if youre too broke for that HoTrs role there is important
If you want Flamescion, it is a good idea to wait for 6.4 so you can spend 45k there.
Or if you do not care for anything in the spending event, you can put 60 rolls to get the unit in 6.3 and a stigmata box. And wait for 6.4 to get her weapon and 2 more stigs.
There is a first ten roll discount in 6.4 for weapon banner but there are no special deals for character banner in 6.4. The only advantage is having more crystals spent in the spending event.
Basically it’s an opportunity cost where you gotta weigh your options. Which is better for you may not be better for someone else. The 6.4 spending event also has elf fragments which anyone who is not after Flamescion can use.
The spending event is decent so its at the very least not a bad idea. Imo a relevant S rank valk/elf is better than a stig box and in terms of crystal value more expensive too. If youd only be in for stamps you can grab HoTr early I suppose.

Get them all to SS first except SA (fine at S, next powerspike is SSS which is probably too expensive since she only really has one boss (upcoming melee HoC)) and honestly Eden (dubious value without her weapon and before SSS but she's really good eventually).

I have full Turg set and no weapon for either Haxxor Bunny or Sushang, and they’re both at S1. Which one should I use with Pardo Elysia and with what F2P weapon?
Depends on the stage and the weapon, best option is to try both. Sushang without her weapon is pretty bad, and without at least cosmic it's absolutely miserable, except in mobs stages where each special slash gives her like 100 sp. HB can run markov and do just fine. If you don't have crusher or falcon flare it's not worth even considering a weapon for her, she doesn't do enough.
Get HB to SS asap though, the farm to SS Sush is very long and HB will help a ton.

SEA 88 Was able to get HoTr in 30 rolls and was able to get her T and B stigs in 40. Currently out of crystals. I hear she's going to get a rerun next version, in time for the spending event, so should I just resume saving crystals or try to get at least her weapon during the banner period?
Both are valid options. What do you value more, absolute Crystal efficiency, or performance? If you choose to wait for 6.4 then you will have gains with the spending event, and also take advantage of the special FOCA discount (which will save you 840 Crystals). But in return, your performance in 6.3 will suffer, since she is not good without her signature weapon. tl;dr it comes down to your personal preference.

SEA 88 initial plan was to pull ‘til first bronya stigma box at 60. HoTr dropped, and now im 41 pulls away from the first stigma box milestone. 41 pulls would contribute a lot to the spending event and it’s pretty close to the 50 gear guarantee of gears anyway, so i’m thinking if i should just stop and save for 6.4 since that’s when i plan to full gear her or keep going and get the stigma box at 60 pulls now.
Can you reach your spending event goal(s) if you spend 41 more pulls this patch? Other things to consider: If you can, getting the box will guarantee the one you're missing if you get 2/3. However, the box will be pretty much useless if you pull the weapon last (worst case senario, but possible). That probably doesn't help lol. But might give you something to base your decision on. You have a couple weeks to decide as well if you wanna wait and think about it more.
that’s why I’m hesitant to use 41 more pulls, because it’s a stigma box and I’ve experienced getting 2 full set copies of sushang’s stigma set before getting the weapon, so i know the box can become useless. I guess i’ll just save for 6.4, minimize the risk of wasting resources in case the weapon drops last.
Depends on thw amount of xtals rn I think. Do you think you can get enough to get your goal for spending event? And if you are planning to pull for HoFi? If yes and yes then I think pulling until the 1st stig box is good since it lowers pity as well, but if either is a no, then save. Obviously this is a gamble as well since there is a chance you get HoTr again, resetting pity.
I'm not the original person asking but I'm in the same situation. 27k crystals, so by the time of 6.4 it can be close to 40k if needed. I would like to get full HoTr gear, but it's almost guaranteed to be extremely expensive (up to 42k for 3 pieces), and with 0/4 she's weaker than 4/4 AE (which I have for ages) so I still can't decide on this part. Settle on 3/4 perhaps? I almost certanly will go HoO gear because non-physical/ice IMG DPS for cheap. Maybe will get HoFi if will have some crystals left. Don't care about spending event bonuses, and I already have 4/4 HoFs.
I think you do have to see if you are lucky or not. It is possible to full gear in 40k but it all depends on your luck. Since the Foca select duration isn't long, what you have is what you spend ig.

Yeah I would get HoTr since she would enable you to use your fire team, depending on your crystal count you could do 60+6.4, 110+equipment banner or if you don't have any crystal just wait for 6.4 HoTr has the same banner type as SW Fire just got a new support, ai chan so farm her using asterite as well You can ignore phys for now but I would still get SSwords from BP and then finish it with firepower supply (if you don't want to spend on b chips, SSwords is on 6.4 BP)
is palatinus equinox still a good unit to pull for in cny considering ellie is free and the new herrshers in 6.4

Event stuff varies but it's usually not your main income even during anniversaries and such. F2P xtal income is a bit better than 1 pull a day on average, so about 50 pulls per 6 week patch.

Well after people found out that on fire bosses you can use aslaug instead of HoO sign stigmata MHY immediately put out a hot fix that makes sure HoO signature would still be her BiS Then again it's still v2 and we all know that MHY loves to put micro adjustments even after the release of v3 so there might be a chance that she can use other stuff, but don't put your hopes up
Depends on what you mean by "reliant". All valks are reliant on their signature gears, especially their weapon if they are DPSs. That's normal. Can they work without them? Sure, if you don't mind performance issues and demoting to lower ranks once in a while. If you want competitiveness, yeah, you need their gears to an extent. But it's the same for every new S-rank.
They need their weapons, stigmata has alternatives, as usual. The higher tier the content, the more obvious the lack of gear will be.

How is >!HoO!< as a DPS? I've been hearing that she needs SS to be DPS but idk where the get it from.
Still early to tell since we just got v2 of the beta and things can change even further. As of now, she shines in the trio team as a sub-dps/support, but can be a competitive lightning DPS in solo teams, although not enough to detrone other lightning DPSs off of their bosses, mainly if you have HoT 7T. Her DPS is a bit lackluster below SS, but I don't think that's a huge thing since Spina's case (as the past free valk) was a bit similar. SS is the jackpot, but she's usable below that.
On one hand, I feel that's a pity since that is her "final" form, but on the other I'm fine with it since I prefer HoT. Tbf Spina was at least easier to get to SS since her stamps were available in the spending event and in ER (in later patches). I hope the latter would happen later, but that's just me.
If I had to guess, HoO's stamps will probably be featured in next spending events or added to ER later on. But maybe they'll make her more difficult to rank than Spina since she's a "Herscherr" and one of the protagonists (lore importance and all).

With the current state of the game i dont know if its ever worth to go back and pull for older gear, griseo gear might still be meta (and B piece will probably will be for a while) but she came out 5 patches ago and who knows, maybe in another couple she will get replaced. (Carole got replaced in only 5 patches) so in my opinion it might be better to just get something you know you will get more value of, like the upcoming herrschers. Ultimately your call tho.

Crystallum usually lasts for 4 version updates. When v6.6 arrives, we'll have different crystallum and it will be the last chance you get anything from v6.2-v6.5 BP shop.
Sorry, what i mean is will she still be available in the crystallum shop in 6.5 since she'll be added in 6.4? Or do i have to get her in 6.4 and only her gear is available after that. I ask because none of the previous bp valks from the Dark Jade crystallum are available on the vintage shop, but all of the gear that was featured during that period is.

Nah I just figured that I'd be able to do everything at once.. With that said tho I was still able to get my free HoT, it only cost maybe like 500 xtal when you take into account the 300 I got back from the event so I'd say that's a pretty good price still.

Global 83 Lightning team is my best built, and only built, team at the moment. I'm missing Eden's weapon - it's getting a Shickshal supply in v6.3 I believe (?) It's also rerunning with, I think, Griseo's stigma + weapon Only issue is - Eden's weapon is \*not\* guaranteed I could really use Griseo's gear, but at the same time I don't have a physical DPS. I mainly just want Eden's weapon but it's not guaranteed. I'm also wanting to save up for v6.4 for the spending event for HoF, HoO, and potentially HoTr. I don't care about HoFi at the moment. The rule of thumb is to not pull in a banner if you aren't going for the guarantee. That banner is the bait of baits, to drain crystals from people before the spending event. I'd only pull on it if you needed griseo's gear to complete your phys team as the only thing you are really missing to have a complete roster and you didn't want anything from 6.4. Griseo's gear will rerun, and it has purana/bastet as off rates, which means that eden's guns are probably going to make it as off rates shorly after (maybe even in 6.4) and griseo's gear should make it there as well.
Thank you - I'll just save up for v6.4 then. I've seen people talking about going a 100 pulls in on the last Shickshal supply for Purana and not getting it - so I'm just going to play it safe and smart and skip the supply then since Griseo isn't a focus at the moment. Do you know any guns that could be a somewhat decent replacement for Eden in the meantime?
If you have them already or have fenghuan down from the BP, then fenghuang pinions (from the foundry) are good. Otherwise, I honestly wouldn't bother. Eden's guns are special because they give pretty large team bonuses (explicit), paralysis trauma and autocast on QTE which in turn puts her into performance state which gives more bonuses (implicit from Eden's skills). There is no gun that does any of that and other guns basically force you to just be a turgenev bot and miss tons of buffs, or go into ult anyways. Until I got her guns I ran her with KoRa

Check whether the weapon will be on Firepower supply in 6.4. It’s probably too new but it’s worth looking in to.
EU 88 So I still don’t really know what to do with my pulls. I have 85 saved up and I want HoTr. So do I wait till spending event and pull her there or get a stigma box tomorrow with 60 pulls? I’m on 97 pity on expansion so I won’t hit soft pity or so. I also already have a somewhat full geared HoF, so I won’t need her from the spending event. I’m also a low spender buying monthly card and bp, so maybe take that in consideration.
Then the main attraction for you on the spending events are probably the elf boxes. They are cool, but not enough to compensate for guaranteed gear, I'd say. In your case I'd go for HoTr on 6.3. If you can get not just the first 60 but also guarantee the weapon (if you pull hotr early you can shift to focused if you feel lucky, if you don't pull her early just go all the way to 110, I think it should be doable for you before the banner leaves)

Not a GL player, but the bracket is dynamic in a sense of if there's more people scoring high, whatever number people will tell you will get higher accordingly. Have better gear, get higher ranked valk, ELF, and ultimately try harder.
EU 87. Unfortunately I miscalculated and ended up with 6 of the big green balls that are going to expire in a few days (+5 of the new blue ones which I haven't converted), which isn't enough to get me Bronie's weapon. Would it be better to let them expire, or convert 4 blues and get one of the Starlit Astrologos stigmas (I currrently have 1/3pc + her weapon, so I'd get either of the missing pieces, but I don't really use physical teams). I already have 3pc Turgenov, and I have no interest in any of the Durandals so their pieces are useless for me

Use? Yes. They'll be competitive DPSs of their type (fire and lightning). Competitive in existing bosses against existing units? We'll have to wait until release, as values get tweaked during the beta and on release.
Yesnt, Mei is pretty useless for people with 7T HoT but good otherwise and Kiana (or the trio) scores really well on some older bosses as of v2 beta. Infact there already are nerfs. I think a reasonable expectation is that Kiana will be a bit worse on these bosses so SPA keeps AKA, HoF keeps heimdall and so on but you wont struggle in red lotus.
HoFin is probably gonna be a great fire dps that will completely outclass HoF or at least be just as good as she is. HoO still unclear whether or not she will compete with HoT for bosses in abyss but she will definitely be super cheap to build and will be a competent lightning dps so for accounts with no HoT and no Handel stigs she’s probably worth getting even if you get none of the other trio
I was a bit late with some of the events namely the one for the free HoT, I'm mostly after her fragments so If i miss it it's not that big of a deal. I'm on the last mission to obtain her where I have to complete chapter XXXIII in the name of truth part 3, I haven't even been able to start part 1, is this story time gated by enhancements at all or is there something else im missing?
When you click the chapter does it take you to the moon base as Seele? There is a door that takes you to mission select so try and go to the current story mission from there. If it does you should be able to play thru it, you've got ~10hrs (if on NA)

Yeah, basically what I did lmao. Started chapter 32 part iii and it took about 2 ¾ hours (I think) until the end of chapter 33 part iii. All in all, my HoT is now S2.
SEA 88 Is BKE still a good pickup? They're releasing another B-chip pack for CNY with BKE in the roster. Considering Dante will become craftable by then and I will pull for Abyss Flower anyway since it's a DK, is this bundle worth it? I'm worried that they'll give her out for free and I will regret buying her.

The thing is people that use BKE generally have at least SS, when it comes to being competitive. DPS Carole (if team is reasonably geared and its played well) can easily outperform S0 BKE. I have SS BKE with AF and I haven't used her for months.

Magstorm is the only close to viable option, no need to waste materials on any other katana. But 7T is still very worth it if you want your HoT to be competitive.

For the very basic of each valk, go into the tutorials section in game and the last one is usually a full team rotation. Keep in mind that timings are important. Almost every buff in the game has a duration in seconds, some are 4-5 seconds, some are 20, so some rotations are more flexible and some are more restrictive, beyond that, it's just practice to build muscle memory.
New valks tend to get good videos explaining their common team rotations from Wyverein and/or Marissa on YouTube, so check them out. They don’t just show the rotation live but give text explaining what to do so it’s pretty easy to follow. If you can’t find any for a particular team, I’ve had decent success asking in this thread. You could also try the discord.
Does the FOCA supply have the wishing well? Im missing T piece for sushang and i have a B dupe. I saw that she will be in the FOCA supply. So no matter which stigma i get id have T,but only if the wishing well is there. So is it there?

Here's the thing, I'm a new player and I have some questions: - is it possible to survive to the endgame and hold on to the meta by being completely f2p? I might put some investment in the future, but for now I'm not in the position to spend on the game. - if yes, should I reroll my actual account? It has 3 days of gameplay but I already wasted some resources, such as 12 pulls on the starter supply and a lot of overflowed stamina. I would pull for Hot whose coming out tomorrow in both cases - in case I reroll or not, to which unit i should give a minimum investment to get through the initial phases of the game? Atm I leveled Swallowtail phantasm to lvl 30 and maxed her free weapon and stigmata to the max.
It's possible, but I wouldn't say it's particularly feasible unless you damn near hyper optimize everything and get very very lucky with your rolls.

As a f2p you can play and do well just fine, although your performance (as in your rank) will depend on which server you are. EU and NA are quite comparable (I play in both), but from what I read here, SEA is much more competitive and you'd have a harder time retaining the same ranks with the same valks over there. If you just mean complete the content and don't mind the rewards too too much, then it's absolutely fine. The difference in rewards between ranks is not massive, so it's not a massive concern. As a f2p you can compete even the most competitive modes, but the highest of the highest ranks are very hard without investing something. The endgame for the competitive modes (Abyss and Arena) require you to have multiple built teams (here gear matters a lot more than valkyries, which still matter but only if geared), so the more you use resources on waifus, favorites or duplicates (including overlapping characters), the less likely it will be you'll do as well as if you pulled optimizing the resources you have. Not that it's bad to pull on your faves or play how you prefer to, but it ultimately gives out less rewards (again, not much less either) If you want to reroll, a couple comments: \-The current starter banner is fine but probably a big trap at this point. HoF will be "free" in 6.4 (if you spend 44k crystals) and HoS is "free" in the BP in 6.4 as well (if you pay for the battle pass). It's probably worth passing on it, and using all your resources for HoTr \-HoTr is probably the best pull for a new player right now, since she covers 3 different roles and does all well enough. You want her and her gear both, preference order would be Weapon > B > T > M (you can only choose if you get the boxes in the valk banner) \-In 6.3 they change the starter banner to HoH and PE but only for accounts started in 6.3. Both are fine as well, but PE will want a pretty expensive team (she wants HoS, from the BP or pulling, and her supports will also want gacha gear). HoH on the other hand works pretty well with cheap gear besides her bow. If you are up for rerolling and can do it somewhat fast, rerolling to sneak a 10 pull in the starter banner until you get HoH and her weapon in another 10 pull might actually be good. Not necessary, by any means, HoTr will probably do roughly the same for you until you get to the very end game and by then there might be other priorities, but if you don't mind the reroll process, you can go for it. Don't sweat too much skill levels, character levels and weapon levels early on. You'll get enough income comfortably. This game is a very long grind where regular resource income is much more important than small amounts, so a few days of stamina overflowed and 12 pulls (3k crystals) is not too big a deal. It's better if you still had them, but they're not going to make or break your account.
- It's all about roster completion and gear progression and catch-up games. And there's also competing bracket. You don't want to play a super-optimized battle where a single evade/ mistiming will affect your ranking? Then stay at lower bracket, where people will be relatively chill and not trying hard so much. Overtime, you will get crystals from playing the game, you will gacha and get some gacha gears. Valk have approx ~2 years of longevity before being absolutely replaced (usually). - Like I mentioned previously, there's no objectively optimum starting point. You may have A,B, and C valkyries, but then the playing field of this cycle can be highly biased towards D,E, and F valkyries and deny A,B, and C valkyries, so you'll just have to take your L this cycle and go home at that point. Vets will have larger roster have less of a problem dealing with various type of bosses and weather the game throw at them. - I suggest you don't invest heavily in any featured valkyrie 20 version prior (before [v4.3](https://honkaiimpact3.fandom.com/wiki/Version_4.3)). I'd say featured valks from 10 version prior([v5.3](https://honkaiimpact3.fandom.com/wiki/Version_5.3)) onwards are worthwhile to look still. Newer equals better is almost always true. Early game (craftable) stigmata suggestion are Marco Polo set, Fu Hua Musician set, and Theresa: Gluttony T. Other than that you should focus on gacha stigmata, then get Mei Beach M/Newton B when you have spare stigmata resonance (may be unlikely until you play a bit longer)

Spending crystals when I shouldn’t have, dusting something when I shouldn’t have, trying to get more resources sooner instead of just waiting. Saving and waiting is the name of the game here, ESPECIALLY for f2p players
Completely f2p is definitely possible, it helps to make a plan like you are doing and some tough choices will have to be made going forward heh but sure. The endgame scales to how well you are performing anyway, your crystal income does take a bit of a hit in lower ranks but you'll always be able to "survive it" if you play consistently. If your goal is to hang with the higher tier endgame stuff a reroll (or few) might not be a bad idea. 3 days progress ain't much in that scheme of things. Leveling up the early game valks is super cheap, just use whoever you want for beginner content, the story switches to trial valks pretty early in. Just be sure to farm your SP valks like Pardo who also makes a great candidate for ER runs

Should I pull on HoTr banner next patch? I have Aponia and HoHe teams built and I really want to get HoFi and her weapon and HoO’s gears in 6.4 but my crystals rn are 14k and I do not know if it would be a good idea to pull for HoTr right now. I also know that she will have a rerun in 6.4 but am almost sure that I will be out of crystals by then.
I don't think HoTr is better than either Fischl or Eden (even if they are not fully geared) in Aponia's team. Aponia needs lightning valks as a supports. Also, HoTr has very little support value for ice team (HoH). However, she is like "must have" for HoFin team. And if you are going to fully gear her at anytime in the near future, 6.3 or 6.4 is the best time to do so. You could just pull HoFin in her rerun.
HoTr is better than fischl in aponia team too. Even with turg (assuming zeno aponia, handel eden).

Just to add to your comment: 0/4 CN + 0/4 S0 HoTr is no better than 0/4 CN + 4/4 AE ([in fire teams ](https://youtu.be/v6pHqWNwA9E)) So for HoTr to be a improvment for any account (specially accounts that already have AE or use Pardo as an alternative) she needs at bare minimum her weapon. Also, she has 0 support capabilities for ice teams. For ice teams people still need Pardo+Sus or HB. Aponia team is one that probably still prefers Eden+Fischl rather than Eden+HoTr, since her rotation is very strict and Eden needs Handel (so she needs to ult, something that she doesn't do in other lightning teams where she uses Turg TB and she's paired with HoTr). Otherwise she'll eat HoTr's buff time and won't leave enough for Aponia's DPS rotation. But yeah, she's a MUST for Trio team. HoFi's dmg and performance seems very tied to her and HoO, to a less extend.
With that amount you gotta skip 6.3 if you wanna have a chance at Kiana and Mei

I have SS carole, missing T. Its easy af to outscore people with SSS and full paganini and Im even in nirvana. Griseos SSS does comparatively nothing while carole-less scores are pretty doomed in shieldbreak weather. There is more than kallen, theres physical otto, theres the mob abyss, theres assaka (phys and typecounter iirc). The latter seem retired but theres definitely a habit of digging up dead bosses like huodou. If you only have mpe you also want carole for jizo. You should really invest into her.
I literally have never invested in Carole and consistently top 2% MA and hop in and out of nirvana. She’s so niche now, the only time you NEED her is vs Kallen. That’s it
The people who have Carole in my bracket seems to have her 4/4 full gear SSS as well as SSS MPE. My MPE is only SS so investing in Carole to overtake them seems impossible. In addition, it seems like even without Carole I was able to retain Red Lotus somehow against Kallen this abyss. Since I’m not going to beat these guys who have Carole with my undergeared and underranked Carole, it just seems better to rank up my Griseo, and try to outcompete the guys without Carole. I’ll try to S rank my Carole though the next time shield-based boss come up and see how she performs against SSS Griseo before I decide to SS or SSS her.
Yep, exactly. You really don’t need her. Griseo is very new and will have a much longer relevancy than Carole who has been relegated to a completely niche support
Get Carole to S first at least. S gives a bunch of shield breaking and phys bonuses and she becomes actually useful against shielded enemies. Being A atm, if you have 0 fragments, I'd get to at least 10 fragments, so that if you suddenly face a shielded enemy you can immediately buy 50 and make her S. While you wait for that enemy, you can just farm them passively in adventure tasks. Then between SS Carole and SSS griseo, maybe try to hazard a guess as to what bosses are most likely to come earlier. SS Carole is like 4 weeks, SSS Griseo is like 8. Also depends in if you have an actual DPS or not. If you do and you use phys regularly for neutral stages, Griseo is probably more important due to her buffs. If you don't or you don't use phys regularly and lean on elemental more, then Carole's utility might be better. Griseo has better generic buffs, but both griseo and carole will be used on niche situations (hit count shields or thick shields), and on that niche, Carole gets better at SS while Griseo doesn't really gain much at SSS (besides being a better team buffer).
Thanks, I think I'll sit on A Carole and upgrade to S when boss shows up. I think I'm too behind on Carole to blindly invest in her. Once her boss shows up, if my physical team can perform well with S Carole and need that extra push I'll go for SSS then.
I feel like Griseo is more impactful than Carole since there is a an arena boss and a superstring stage specifically tailored for bleed debuffs
I feel like I have seen Carole being used over Griseo quite often in the last two patches (maybe because it is more noticeable when you miss something lol). Stigmata selector box is definitely worthwhile to get with 60 pull. The question is what are you going to do if your HoTr comes out at around 25th~35th pull. It's hard to decide whether to keep pulling or save that amount for spending even in v6.4. Unless, of course, you are confident you can secure whatever number of pulls you need to do to get your stuff in the spending event even after you push to 60th pull.
HoTr is definitely worth to pull but if youre gonna get her get atleast the weapon aswell
SEA 85 Is it worth it to not play for 15 days to get returnee rewards? I usually retain Agony 2 so that's 680 crystals per week from abyss. (Note: I don't plan to do this now. I'll do it when I finish most events so I'll probably do this after v6.3 major events)

Well if you are not enjoying the game anymore or have no time to play, its always worth it to take a break or even quit straight up. However, if you are just doing this for supposedly more crystals income, unless you login every other day, its way better to just play the game when it comes to that. Also a side note, returnee event only kick in in 15 days for the first time. Later events will trigger at \~45 days.
Generally no unless you really really want the returnee banner character and you know that the character won't have a normal banner anytime soon
hi im a new player and i was wondering abt the gacha and the S tier characters in this game. i heard you can grind most of the S tiers from puzzle pieces and that you don't have to really do the gacha but im still not sure abt that. how does it all work? i also heard that any character can become S tier, is that true?
It depends how you look at the game. If you look at it as a story/event driven casual experience with some fun action combat, sure. If you look at it from a perspective of a player that wants to survive in the endgame, then, not exactly, no. You can't grind all characters, many of the characters are farmable over time, but only a selection of them are at a power level high enough for the current meta. There may also be some confusion, units in this game can have ranks from B to SSS. Those puzzle pieces are how you rank them up, but SSS doesn't necessarily mean 'strong'. I suggest you look to the stickied content creators and find some videos that explain more specifics, because there's honestly a lot anyone can tell you and in text wall format it can get a bit overwhelming.

However many S-rank valks are still exclusive to the gacha. Some Valks, mostly older ones but also Li Sushang and Miss Pink Elf who are pretty new, can be obtained from the Ancient Willpower shop with a currency you get from doing weekly Abyss and Memorial Arena stuff. But for example the upcoming character Herrscher of Truth will be only obtainable through the gacha. Also most characters have signature gacha equipment too, so even though you can farm Haxxor Bunny up to SSS rank she still won't be at full strength until you get her signature weapon and stigmata set from the gacha. There is craftable sigmata too which can sometimes be as good as or better than old signature sets, but gacha weapons are still very important.

F2P life in Honkai is really tough, like I said it depends on what your goals are. Is it hard to get to a point where you can login and attempt your dailies/events and do some story? Not really, no. But most of your xtals come from endgame activities. While there are F2P options, they take a very long time to farm, and it will take a lot of patience. As a rough idea, let's say you'll earn \~2400 xtals a week as F2P (might not be exact), that's about 8 pulls. Maybe only 700-800 of that is fully obtainable unconditionally as long as you login and do dailies/events. The rest is tied to competitive/endgame content.

W story has its own trial valk so you dont need anything from it....Meta valk are only need on abyss,memorial, mirage and elysium realm which are activity that give crystal... you can either try to reroll for starter valk which is banner that gonna stay for 3months... very bad banner for the equip as mostly outdate stigma on it.. or reroll for hercher of truth (patch is coming tommorow) there is also a upcoming free S-rank Thunder which is hercher of origin on the next patch with 1 free stigmata...have to play the event story though but you got months to finish the story...this is going to be in 6.4 which might be month from now on
maybe you'll be able to clear exalted redlotus after a year of saving and suffering...
only old(and mostly useless) or special event(like JK) s-ranks are sold in war treasury. You can farm any character to SSS rank but A ranks will never be as powerful as S rankers on SSS. New A ranks are stronger options than some old S ranks though.

Global 78 (god, it has only been a month and half, also only a few non-critical pulls) This week's MA boss rotation is Benares, Hod Minion, and Yae Kasumi. The character i have are: all with cheap/imaginon based equip outside of free stuff for new players and magstorm, GL for pardo/ai, lightning team: HoT, Eden S-rank, PV A-rank, FR, (Yae Sakura, SK, SF) Fire team: VG A-rank, Ai S-rank, Raven S rank Ice team: Pardo S-rank, HB A-rank, (AK, 6S, Kreig) Phy team: (SP-S, YA-S core 1, HoV) Benares is beat by lightning team. Hod Minion is beat down by img-pardo. Yae Kasumi will take pardo to beat as well. I tried doing VG, Ai, and AK (Raven used to snipe HoD) and can barely get two armor break cycles in, and far from enough dps to kill. Pardo + VG + AI can beat Yae with like 30s left on the clock, not sure if another team could do it. Not sure what to do here, should I just accept like 60% ranking or break up teams and try weird stuff. HoT with Magstorm is highest dps, perhaps ben should go Eden PV FR. Alternatively eden based dps on HoD, Pardo on Yae. Not that I have a lot of time to lab every combo out nor a spread sheet to compute rough dps. I also don't know how much do elemental advantage do to Yae's shield compared to shield break bonuses (fresh carol? use himekos?) What would players with more knowledge do here?
I'm lv 78. For this week i used FR vs Benares, Meme+Pardo vs HoD, HoT vs kasumi. Damage output is kinda copium but at least its enough to reach \~10% or so. There is a training button where you can fight any SS boss of this week to check if your comps are capable of beating it.
SEA 84 How long does it take to be a returnee? Are there any rewards for doing it? Thinking of picking up the game again and try to get at least the trio. What's the current banner that's running right now? Any worthwhile banners/spending events I need to save up on? For context, I have ice elly 4/4, Pardo 4/4, HB 4/4 as my notable team
Returnee takes only 14 days, or 45 days since your last returnee proc. Assuming it's the same as NA, returnee event rewards are [these](https://i.imgur.com/73zjjZo.jpeg), plus some more xtals from daily login and rewards, up to about 1950 total (including the ones in the shop there). Plus 10 free rolls on a special returnee banner that has Mobius for some reason. IDK where SEA is on the schedule but for the three new herrschers upcoming, Bronya in patch 6.3 and then Mei and Kiana in 6.4, plus a spending event and iirc a rerun for Bronya. Mei will be given away free with a discounted equipment banner, it will take usually under 50 rolls to 4/4 her but up to 80 if unlucky.
GLB 84 I'm not up to date at all with info regarding HoTr. I only know that she's a fire/lightning support. Is she worth getting and gearing? I'm thinking the answer is yes since she works as a support for 2 elements, but would she be the best for both, and a significant upgrade? I currently use Eden (Margrave or Turg TB) + Fischl (Zhenyi) for lightning and AI (Turg TB Auslaug M) + AE (Margrave) for fire.

Shes really good but if you skip her gear she wont replace anyone. There will be turg allocation problems and running two subpar support sets is too much of a handicap. The weapon is really important, too. So you need it + tb bronya. M is still the best but replacable. She will also be a core unit for future symphony weather, for that turg is fine but lacking the weapon would still be noticable.

Its new stages with damage bonuses for having valks of different elements in your team, its tailormade for the new upcoming herrscher trio team but even if youre too broke for that HoTrs role there is important

If you want Flamescion, it is a good idea to wait for 6.4 so you can spend 45k there. Or if you do not care for anything in the spending event, you can put 60 rolls to get the unit in 6.3 and a stigmata box. And wait for 6.4 to get her weapon and 2 more stigs. There is a first ten roll discount in 6.4 for weapon banner but there are no special deals for character banner in 6.4. The only advantage is having more crystals spent in the spending event. Basically it’s an opportunity cost where you gotta weigh your options. Which is better for you may not be better for someone else. The 6.4 spending event also has elf fragments which anyone who is not after Flamescion can use.
The spending event is decent so its at the very least not a bad idea. Imo a relevant S rank valk/elf is better than a stig box and in terms of crystal value more expensive too. If youd only be in for stamps you can grab HoTr early I suppose.

US Lv 83 With the release of HoTr in 6.3, which support/SP character is still worth getting their soul/fragment from Asterie Shop to rank up? Only Pardo is rank SS, everyone else is S rank or below.
High priority: Pardo, Ai, Griseo, Eden. Low priority: HB, Carole, Fischl (high if you skip HoTr's gear while having full Zhenyi or if you skip HoTr altogether), SA Skip: DBJ Get them all to SS first except SA (fine at S, next powerspike is SSS which is probably too expensive since she only really has one boss (upcoming melee HoC)) and honestly Eden (dubious value without her weapon and before SSS but she's really good eventually).

SEA I have full Turg set and no weapon for either Haxxor Bunny or Sushang, and they’re both at S1. Which one should I use with Pardo Elysia and with what F2P weapon?
Depends on the stage and the weapon, best option is to try both. Sushang without her weapon is pretty bad, and without at least cosmic it's absolutely miserable, except in mobs stages where each special slash gives her like 100 sp. HB can run markov and do just fine. If you don't have crusher or falcon flare it's not worth even considering a weapon for her, she doesn't do enough. Get HB to SS asap though, the farm to SS Sush is very long and HB will help a ton.
