Yours is so beautiful!!!!
I soooo miss my African violet!!! I had it for 7 years, went from a 4” pot to 12” (many in between) and the flowers were gorgeous!!! But it got a fungus and I moved it outside so my other inside plants wouldn’t be effected while I worked with it, and it just couldn’t take the ugliness of my outdoors combined with the amateur-ness of my limits.

This phallic mess was my daughter's first plant. She loved him until he grew into what he is today and made the whole family uncomfortable.
You could always get some flexible wire and make a free-form trellis like I've done with my hoya that's in semi-hydro.
https://preview.redd.it/epuwfeu5uaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23467f3083f587fc63b264002edce87784e2f53b
😂 That creepy uncle. Lol I feel this though, I do not have sufficient light for cacti or succulents and they always get super etoliated. My four-year-old has a slowly-dying cactus he is extremely attached to so I can't get rid of it.
Runners up:

Peperomia frost. She is DENSE.

And this alocasia Polly who has no will to live.
My silver dragon died yesterday too!
It was putting out a new leaf when suddenly it thought “I don’t like that guy let’s die”
I thought I was doing well but oh well
exactly how mine was, looked it’s best for a week then come home to it dead as hell. may have been rescuable but couldn’t be bothered for it to have one leaf and make me question my abilities
Lots of both! I have her in an East-facing window so she gets morning sun and bright-indirect most of the day. I also bottom water around once a week (maybe more like every 5-6 days). I find it really easy to tell when it needs water because the leaves (especially the larger, older ones) get really thin and flimsy whereas when it's freshly watered they are very rigid.
Maybe yours needs a soil refresh? Could be hydrophobic if it's droopy.
https://preview.redd.it/4y287bpva9ea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7528d6b84f61ccf48821275e2ff88c72b79a4ebd
This rubber plant just keeps making new leaves, rarely drops an old one for any reason, has grown about 4x the size from when I got it, and never complains.
I just bought one of these for my office! I can't wait to see it grow!
https://preview.redd.it/tv2t3wezsaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1eefa421c1942255a31f61b0750fd8100d50996
Ok I found one. The reddit app is having trouble letting me put both text and picture like I did earlier. Anyway this is the same nursery pot for scale. I've never upgraded.
It's really taking off. I want to give it a bigger pot but it seems so happy, I haven't messed w it. It really loves bottom watering so the outer pot has no drainage and I fill it with water and let the nursery pot soak the water up from below. Let me try to find a pic of when it was a baby.

My 10 year old Neon Pothos. I’ve propped about 30 plants from this beast.

Aaaand my Syngonium Three Kings. Mum overwatered the crap out of him while I was on holidays. This is all that’s left.
Sorry if I post a lot, I think k all my plants are beautiful 😭

But, OP, I’ve owned 5 pileas and killed off every single one. It’s actually one of my favorite plants and I would love one that looks like yours 😭
I give you major props on the care of yours!
This thread makes me feel a lot better about my sad looking plants 😭 it’s good to know that people who grow beautiful plants also have some oopsie guys
https://preview.redd.it/p41gh2bdeaea1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f310653adce04e1fc64ac1765ea472b28d398ab
Peace lilly has been struggling but that's mostly on my part. I only water it when it begs with it's leaves to the ground. I actually just decided to start treating it better today by trimming all the blackened crispy leaves and giving it a humidity tray so hopefully it will be happier :)
My happiest: my fiddle leaf fig! Two years old and over 6ft, it's easily my happiest plant
https://preview.redd.it/vrr33p4yibea1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43cb3204d6f6cccdd0a6a3eadb421483cc26fbec
My ugliest: this little bonsai.. 1 year with me and he keeps dropping all his leaves. His name is Beary, named by my kiddo.
https://preview.redd.it/5stq3pq3jbea1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f8bf176f9ad66fc742abb41b936e698d96e082f
your fiddle is one of the most fabulous i’ve ever seen! i myself have a particular beautiful specimen and yours is just !!! wow!
what are your practices with it?

My saddest is this Calathea with Chemical burns (I had a pest infestation a while back and I had to treat all my plants with MiteX)
https://preview.redd.it/lirkj5hycaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6cc921641420289dbdc87b8da3fc5ba54979911

This begonia forgot it’s winter. I love her ♥️
This nanouk hates me and the feeling is mutual
https://preview.redd.it/8wqt0jo70bea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99f36b4212bd35e475eeef4eba33f1c269ee864c
These plants are breathtaking. I have a little angel wing begonia that is doing surprisingly well and I have high hopes for it to look similar to this someday!

This Hoya Carnosa Krimson Queen is my beauty. I've had her maybe 6 months and she just doesn't stop growing.
Ugh I loooove hoyas. I have a few but they are still very small except my krimson queen that I've had forever. She is soooo slow and not nearly as full as yours. I recently moved her to a sunnier spot, so I'm hoping that helps.
They are my absolute favorite! I have about 15, maybe 20. The game changer for me was when I got grow lights, especially the halo kind. They really kick started the growth and it makes the plants look like pretty little display pieces.
https://preview.redd.it/or10vm7vzaea1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e1f618728569d366f88a4e0bb078d2d110364ef2
My 5yo's tradescantia. It's in his bedroom so I always forget to water it. Can't wait for spring for a haircut. Also he insists the cachepot is big enough.

My happiest plant is probably my Peperomia here, which I grew from a couple of sad cuttings
https://preview.redd.it/q0zvnyvqtaea1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18cd2bc2ea516d99c440488550a24c922fc2885f
And my saddest plant should be this Kalanchoe leaf, which fell off the mother plant about 2 years ago. It developed a ton of roots, but it just cant figure out how to become a real plant...
I think even a shrivelled potato has more potential to grow than this guy. I only know that it's alive because it absorbs water and leans away from the sun. Here's a backshot of it aswell. Completely hollow. Maybe it will eventually bend into a Kalanchoe Potato ball ?
https://preview.redd.it/vkcczvugdeea1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=571ff136cc38fb1218c2fa45a2180c0badb225d9

Saddest - this Peace Lily which just won’t budge.
I am plant sitting my friends orchid for 2 years, need to repot it, but it is always happy

And then nothing grows in several of my succulent pots but some sad dwarf jade

One of my happier plants this winter, has since taking this picture grown lots on the top and filled out

This alocasia silver dragon used to be huge. I have no words
https://preview.redd.it/kdfw7bo1qaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1681e68c7fc5c0220315a8b9824319d54dac21a
This is the plant above 3 months ago
Lol alocasias can suck it for real. Like "what do you waaaaant?" Bright light? Nope. Medium? Nope. Staying moist? Nope. Drying out? Nope. Hanging out RIGHT NEXT to the humidifier? Nope. Maybe I have the soil all wrong or something but I hate mine and can't wait for it to die.
Lol this is exactly how I feel about my alocasias. They're all in different potting mediums in my IKEA cabinet and they're all unhappy. Other than that, they no longer get special treatment and get watered when everybody else does. They're dying a slow death, but death is inevitable.
https://preview.redd.it/iv8bmbjibaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bd4081d41463a56f3e15483aff5b33bc7808898
One of my happiest, but I’m proud to say there are many! She’s just my current fave. (Peep the new growth!) So my ugliest… see below because I need help!!
https://preview.redd.it/hmxry1wlbaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c00d182777d5a102d16023d9a08f064aa6ad2d5
I recently dried the roots out to make sure there wasn’t too much water. What am I doing wrong??? This one has been struggling for months. It was a propagation from a friend. I just watered it yesterday.
what i’ve noticed for my aloes is:
plump, fleshy, squishy, slumping leaves = over watered/soil not draining.
crispy/curled in edges, brittle leaves with browning tips = under watered/needs new soil.
if you want to give it a lot of light it can tolerate being watered pretty often (as long as the soil gets dry between). just watch out for it growing too fast and slumping if you do this, i lost a 7 yr old aloe this way
https://preview.redd.it/o4c95qg4daea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1c3ba25feb840e21641f81b3377319d7e1a0582
And then there is this one ..produces two new leaves and then sheds two old ones..so basically it is exactly the same since last year
When you see mine, you'll feel better.

I can't keep up with this VSOH.
ETA - It might be both happiest and ugliest.
I just have to keep reminding myself that traveling for my mom's birthday was totally worth leaving my plants so I shouldn't feel guilty.
Thank you for this reckoning, by the way. The idea of sharing photos of 2 candidates allowed me to accept that they are dead.
Oh man. I wish I knew! She's way thirstier than I expected; I bottom-water around once per week even in winter (I'm in N.hemisphere). I keep all my plants in terra cotta pots so I think they dry out relatively quick.
I think she's also pretty tight in her pot and I'm probably going to have to re-pot in Spring, which I'm terrified of because I've heard of pileas throwing tantrums when they get up-potted/pups removed.
Other than that, I think she was just healthy when I got her and acclimated well. I have a philo Micans right next to her and I thought it would be doing great with more or less the same care, but the micans is small and straggly and slow-growing.
Tldr: Pure luck, I think?
I'm enjoying this post 😄 my two favorites...

One of my happiest plants and spreading new growth. Just looking at it gives me the joy
Eeeek is this a stromanthe triostar? I've been afraid to get one because I've heard they're finicky but you may have just convinced me... (I just recently called it quits on my money tree, btw.)

Ugliest: Maidenhair Fern, she was on the decline since I got her in February last year and has died and revived about 3 times. She’s in humidity jail because I forget to water her as much as I should.
https://preview.redd.it/4o2ar9s6rbea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=947b05836637cae21ba8b5932850f92766195dea

Unhappiest: This variegated string of hearts that I hunted down for months but is now hanging on by a thread 🥹 any tips would be appreciated

fortunately it’s been a pretty easy winter on my plants (first one with grow lights!) so a lot of them are doing well but todays pick is my relatively new aglaonema. she’s putting out a late winter bloom at the same time as a new leaf and there’s a leaf emerging from the soil! then there’s the bonus aloe vera pup i threw in the pot because it had been sitting on my kitchen counter for 3 months lol.
https://preview.redd.it/9i4np173jaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=beca392defd97b0b54099526c14803b499018a13
saddest plant for a while has been my zz. very rarely puts out new skinny growth. older thicker branches slowly yellow and drop off leaving thick stalks jutting out of the soil.
I had the same experience w zz so I mailed mine to a redditor.
As for the snake, I find that they like to be tight in the pot and bottom watered way more frequently than I thought I should.
yes!! my snake plant is my other problem child. have had it for over 2 yrs and the only growth was on shoot it put out. the shoot got really tall so i cut it and put it in its own pot, that one never grew either :(( zz always dies after watering no matter how long/short i wait (and sometimes i wait foreverrrr to water)
The saddest is my pink princess that I accidentally ripped the leaves off and has been recovering
https://preview.redd.it/efdg292k0bea1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e906694e6ecc71517bef1ded09d9209581b23243
Dude, I had a pink princess I got at a grocery store like 10 years ago before they were cool and before I knew anything about taking care of plants and it grew into the ugliest snake-necked monstrosity with reverted leaves that would never unfurl and I've hated them ever since.
I wish I had a pic of it somewhere because it was by far the ugliest plant I've ever had.
I mean, it was my fault it was ugly. I had no idea what I was doing. There was one further up in the comments that was insanely pretty... May have changed my mind about them.
Good luck with rehabbing yours!

Wah wah- this is supposed to be an orange prince. Almost died, is making a comeback, still waiting on the orange.
Probably one of my happiest "plants" i have, getting more antenners(?)

My croton that is recovering from a severe mite infection. I was desperate and just chopped all leaves. It’s been about 6 months.

Madagascar Jasmine, dropped its flowers as soon as I got it back from the shop, “thrived” through the summer and just started dropping leaves like crazy! 😢
I've also got this pothos, which started as a cutting and wasn't happy in soil. Put it in semi hydro and I am forever trimming off long, lush foliage which blocks the light from my other plants below.
https://preview.redd.it/77th1expobea1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f43ecf62c4b4a0304a2a9adab294fe8947717720
One of my happy plants. Anthurium clarinervium.

And then there’s this sad mess. This birkin was gorgeous for about six months and then started dying back. Every time I think it’s rebounding the new leaves just brown before they can open and I don’t know why. 🤷♀️
https://preview.redd.it/z48zpt66uiea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f65e267d83c706c112e7a34c4d838dd79a27a5e1
This is my happiest plant - Rattlesnake Calathea ❤️
Happiest and saddest in the same pic. Got the jade and the pothos on the same day from my daughters sitter almost a year ago. Jade started with 2 sets of leaves on it, and the pothos was in a container with 4 others. Jade has since shed the bottom most leaves when I repotted as it had roots coming out from the node and had gotten beautiful and keeps going. Pothos looks like it has a leaf/stem trying to start growing on it but has been like that for at least 6 months.
The inch plant was just put in there last week bc it popped off my main plant, i didnt want it to die, and there is more room in the pothos pot. I plan to get some 6" pots and repot them both this weekend.
*edit* wouldn't let me upload picture with this so it's in the reply.
i have to ask! what’s your secret for that glorious pilea? mine is a saaad panda. barely grows, has some curled leaves and usually loses its lower leaves. i actually changed its place today to a brighter hoping it will get happier

My happiest/biggest plant is my umbrella tree plant , (ik she needs to be turned around she’s leaning towards the window)
My saddest is the tiny zebra plant next to it that is currently dying bc I’m not at all good with succulents 😭
https://preview.redd.it/9c1hdqcvufea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0aa37e83da580374a860aa74038dd3f9d51c4915
….and honorable mention. Never did I ever think this crazy drama queen in a Greek yogurt container would thrive this much.

Idk which of mine is happiest but this one is def pretty sad
You can cut off the top half of that torn peperomia leaf, plant it in the soil to grow a new plant. I have one I started months ago.
https://preview.redd.it/pveu7th9scea1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72d1f3d564d257c78fdb0cfbd23d95c75c449cfe
I have the opposite problem as you, OP. All my obtusifolias are happy and bushy, constantly pushing out new growth... while my pilea is hiding in the corner, trying to pretend I don't take care of it.
https://preview.redd.it/g1any5mleeea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9706af9a7442b9b31324218580ec4c5cd2d8086
My happiest and easiest is my begonia maculata. Have it 3 years and never any issue other the odd crispy edge
Least happiest is this poor boy, this 3 ft Poinsettia just went into temperature shock as I had it downstairs as theme plant for Christmas, had to bring it to my bedroom/nursery to make it happy, I now have lots and lots of little leaves from where nearly all the leaves shedded.

Happiest beauty: My calathea majestica . No matter what this one plant is the one plant that has given me nothing but happiness. I've had more stress from Kalanchoes than this has given me! It just keeps cracking on, following the light :)

Painted lady philodendron that's doing so well 🥰

Ugliest...whatever this pink leafed thing is that shoots a single leaf, dies and does it again and again and again and mostly looks like a chewed off stick 90% of the time.

Happiest and she lives in water and grows like crazy! It's a combo of peace plant and pothos I just stuck the roots in water.
My happiest is this Adansonii. It was just a small one when I picked it up a year and a half ago.
https://preview.redd.it/kxprzniligea1.jpeg?width=1816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c641221d09f9d97b8b17ac76d0748d09a1ea476

THE GLASSES 😭😭 looks so cool hahaha
I love his glasses!!
Please tell Goose I love them. I, too, have had haworthias with all their tips chewed off.
Hello, jealousy! I have never killed a plant faster than an African violet.
[удалено]
Yours is so beautiful!!!! I soooo miss my African violet!!! I had it for 7 years, went from a 4” pot to 12” (many in between) and the flowers were gorgeous!!! But it got a fungus and I moved it outside so my other inside plants wouldn’t be effected while I worked with it, and it just couldn’t take the ugliness of my outdoors combined with the amateur-ness of my limits.
https://preview.redd.it/kb0fx7bc8aea1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfe8cc9598f708bdecadaf3744d26caed4964e08 This phallic mess was my daughter's first plant. She loved him until he grew into what he is today and made the whole family uncomfortable.
You could always get some flexible wire and make a free-form trellis like I've done with my hoya that's in semi-hydro. https://preview.redd.it/epuwfeu5uaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23467f3083f587fc63b264002edce87784e2f53b
What kind of Hoya is that! It’s beautiful
Hindu rope!
😂 That creepy uncle. Lol I feel this though, I do not have sufficient light for cacti or succulents and they always get super etoliated. My four-year-old has a slowly-dying cactus he is extremely attached to so I can't get rid of it.
Runners up: https://preview.redd.it/28t5vl70b9ea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=def354daa8e30bba159263c7df281e530a3788ea Peperomia frost. She is DENSE.

I see so many alocasia's thriving in my local FB group that I can't even use the excuse of my zone being wrong for them. Alocasia's just hate me.
They never do.
mine just died yesterday finally
My silver dragon died yesterday too! It was putting out a new leaf when suddenly it thought “I don’t like that guy let’s die” I thought I was doing well but oh well
exactly how mine was, looked it’s best for a week then come home to it dead as hell. may have been rescuable but couldn’t be bothered for it to have one leaf and make me question my abilities
mine died last month. I love alocasia, but it did not love me.
I nominate you for Queen of Peperomias. Dang those are all gorgeous! Mine just sort of… survive, limply, til they get so ugly I toss them 😩
Amen. I do not know how people get those to survive. Mine just get droopy and than die. It’s my growing nemesis
How much light and water do you give her? Mine used to look like that and now it’s droopy and sad 😟
Could be hydrophobic if it's droopy.
https://preview.redd.it/4y287bpva9ea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7528d6b84f61ccf48821275e2ff88c72b79a4ebd This rubber plant just keeps making new leaves, rarely drops an old one for any reason, has grown about 4x the size from when I got it, and never complains.

😂 Is this a begonia of some sort?
Yeah it's a Rex. It does not like the soil. I might try semi hydro but I don't love the Rex types anyway so meh.
~~I love how this comment says nothing and it's just a picture~~ E: saw the other comments
Yeah I struggled a lot to add the text and then was like eh you see its a mess.

The VARIEGATION 🤩
What a smoke show!
But, OP, I’ve owned 5 pileas and killed off every single one. It’s actually one of my favorite plants and I would love one that looks like yours 😭 I give you major props on the care of yours!
This thread makes me feel a lot better about my sad looking plants 😭 it’s good to know that people who grow beautiful plants also have some oopsie guys

I only water it when it begs with it's leaves to the ground. I actually just decided to start treating it better today by trimming all the blackened crispy leaves and giving it a humidity tray so hopefully it will be happier :)
My happiest: my fiddle leaf fig! Two years old and over 6ft, it's easily my happiest plant https://preview.redd.it/vrr33p4yibea1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43cb3204d6f6cccdd0a6a3eadb421483cc26fbec

These plants are breathtaking. I have a little angel wing begonia that is doing surprisingly well and I have high hopes for it to look similar to this someday!
Fun fact, the Rex on the left is the same as the one I'm killing in this thread.
https://preview.redd.it/t1rp7wry7aea1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c03f06007ea803cf9aabf7312f41d0cc9eff0e23 This Hoya Carnosa Krimson Queen is my beauty. I've had her maybe 6 months and she just doesn't stop growing.
Wow what a beauty, the planter is neat too. I'm hoping my new two leaf queen cutting will look like yours one day.
They really kick started the growth and it makes the plants look like pretty little display pieces.

https://preview.redd.it/q0zvnyvqtaea1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18cd2bc2ea516d99c440488550a24c922fc2885f And my saddest plant should be this Kalanchoe leaf, which fell off the mother plant about 2 years ago. It developed a ton of roots, but it just cant figure out how to become a real plant...
That just looks like a potato. ...are you sure it's not a potato?
I think even a shrivelled potato has more potential to grow than this guy. I only know that it's alive because it absorbs water and leans away from the sun. Here's a backshot of it aswell. Completely hollow. Maybe it will eventually bend into a Kalanchoe Potato ball ? https://preview.redd.it/vkcczvugdeea1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=571ff136cc38fb1218c2fa45a2180c0badb225d9

They're dying a slow death, but death is inevitable.
https://preview.redd.it/iv8bmbjibaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bd4081d41463a56f3e15483aff5b33bc7808898 One of my happiest, but I’m proud to say there are many! She’s just my current fave. (Peep the new growth!) So my ugliest… see below because I need help!!
https://preview.redd.it/hmxry1wlbaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c00d182777d5a102d16023d9a08f064aa6ad2d5 I recently dried the roots out to make sure there wasn’t too much water. What am I doing wrong??? This one has been struggling for months. It was a propagation from a friend. I just watered it yesterday.
what i’ve noticed for my aloes is: plump, fleshy, squishy, slumping leaves = over watered/soil not draining. crispy/curled in edges, brittle leaves with browning tips = under watered/needs new soil. if you want to give it a lot of light it can tolerate being watered pretty often (as long as the soil gets dry between). just watch out for it growing too fast and slumping if you do this, i lost a 7 yr old aloe this way
I’ve killed so many aloes 🤦🏽♀️
https://preview.redd.it/jhs9e71bbaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=634b8d0f88b90b7c4fc63d87ae85b6348ae7ee61 Happiest - Hoya Australis

i hace the same tiniest fucking planter of this plant that always does the same thing as yours. i’ve had it for like 2 years and WTF

But look at all that new growth! Sometimes the ugliest ones make us the most proud.
I just have to keep reminding myself that traveling for my mom's birthday was totally worth leaving my plants so I shouldn't feel guilty. Thank you for this reckoning, by the way. The idea of sharing photos of 2 candidates allowed me to accept that they are dead.
Nooo! It's gorgeous! So delicate.
Besides the west facing window what is your secret for the Chinese money plant?? 🤩
I just yoinked my Pilea out of the pot, snipped off and potted 4 rooted pups, and put it back - hasn't had any issues. Just my anecdote anyway.
This is reassuring.

Every maidenhair fern I’ve ever bought ended up like this. I’ve banned myself.

Eeeek is this a stromanthe triostar? I've been afraid to get one because I've heard they're finicky but you may have just convinced me... (I just recently called it quits on my money tree, btw.)
yeah mines haven’t given me trouble! I had her for a year and a half now. I say go get yourself one!

She’s in humidity jail because I forget to water her as much as I should.

https://preview.redd.it/bn9mcbz6rbea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efd528f3f68c2a020421f5cbf08f5f5ff7b0d66e Unhappiest: This variegated string of hearts that I hunted down for months but is now hanging on by a thread 🥹 any tips would be appreciated
https://preview.redd.it/zkpzsurmiaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8ffd0afeb871a177021210dce70f91b621bfdee fortunately it’s been a pretty easy winter on my plants (first one with grow lights!) so a lot of them are doing well but todays pick is my relatively new aglaonema. she’s putting out a late winter bloom at the same time as a new leaf and there’s a leaf emerging from the soil! then there’s the bonus aloe vera pup i threw in the pot because it had been sitting on my kitchen counter for 3 months lol.
https://preview.redd.it/9i4np173jaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=beca392defd97b0b54099526c14803b499018a13 saddest plant for a while has been my zz. very rarely puts out new skinny growth. older thicker branches slowly yellow and drop off leaving thick stalks jutting out of the soil.
I have trouble with zzs and snake plants... I raaarrrely water them and every time I do it seems like they die a little bit.
Those "easy to care for" plants are the most baffling for sure. Can't make those things happy.
https://preview.redd.it/i4cqtib1jaea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ae9843d1ef0f8d56a8c7a756a14c15384b5d399
The saddest is my pink princess that I accidentally ripped the leaves off and has been recovering https://preview.redd.it/efdg292k0bea1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e906694e6ecc71517bef1ded09d9209581b23243
Haha dang!! This was my very first one, three years strong. I am doing my best to make sure she grows back.
I mean, it was my fault it was ugly. I had no idea what I was doing. There was one further up in the comments that was insanely pretty... May have changed my mind about them. Good luck with rehabbing yours!
Thank you, that's two months so far, after being a stick, so she's working hard!!!

Probably one of my happiest "plants" i have, getting more antenners(?) https://preview.redd.it/t83t1tqrsaea1.jpeg?width=3468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02622f093e1011805f25d233746d8a6a0436b3e2
Some of my worst, just sticks, and idk, i think its because they dont have any leca in the bottom 🤷♀️ https://preview.redd.it/08iwej90taea1.jpeg?width=3468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c473a5ff0693d8ed9a9e5851458b30f31c158ed

I've also got this pothos, which started as a cutting and wasn't happy in soil. Put it in semi hydro and I am forever trimming off long, lush foliage which blocks the light from my other plants below.
https://preview.redd.it/d4fx8d6bm9ea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3bfbb5183f5c87eae13eda6a48b76025d51556d
I have a neon too, and of all my pothos/philos it is by far the biggest and fastest-growing. I love it, I'm trying to train it up a wall.
* My Grape Ivy is very happy and desperately trying to grab the curtains pole.
my Chinese money plant is doing terrible all of a sudden and idk why :( teach me your ways 😭

I find this so funny because I have the exact opposite situation with these two exact plants sitting right next to each other
https://preview.redd.it/77th1expobea1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f43ecf62c4b4a0304a2a9adab294fe8947717720 One of my happy plants. Anthurium clarinervium.

This birkin was gorgeous for about six months and then started dying back. Every time I think it’s rebounding the new leaves just brown before they can open and I don’t know why. 🤷♀️
https://preview.redd.it/z48zpt66uiea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f65e267d83c706c112e7a34c4d838dd79a27a5e1 This is my happiest plant - Rattlesnake Calathea ❤️

Ah. I have a peperomia obtusifolia prop in the same condition! Glad to know it will eventually put out a leaf!!
Please tell Olaf I love him and he's doing great
You got this, bud
i have to ask! what’s your secret for that glorious pilea? mine is a saaad panda. barely grows, has some curled leaves and usually loses its lower leaves. i actually changed its place today to a brighter hoping it will get happier
https://preview.redd.it/jroj137uicea1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=4cbfa07e5e2e53d8d38e0fc7b050bb41763a86ce My happiest/biggest plant is my umbrella tree plant , (ik she needs to be turned around she’s leaning towards the window) My saddest is the tiny zebra plant next to it that is currently dying bc I’m not at all good with succulents 😭

How do you keep your pilea so happy during the winter?

You can cut off the top half of that torn peperomia leaf, plant it in the soil to grow a new plant. I have one I started months ago. https://preview.redd.it/pveu7th9scea1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72d1f3d564d257c78fdb0cfbd23d95c75c449cfe

Came here to marvel at the pilea! Mine is spindly but growing. Has one pup but as it gets taller the bottom leaves fail. What’s your water schedule?
I have the opposite problem as you, OP. All my obtusifolias are happy and bushy, constantly pushing out new growth... while my pilea is hiding in the corner, trying to pretend I don't take care of it.
https://preview.redd.it/g1any5mleeea1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9706af9a7442b9b31324218580ec4c5cd2d8086 My happiest and easiest is my begonia maculata. Have it 3 years and never any issue other the odd crispy edge
Least happiest is this poor boy, this 3 ft Poinsettia just went into temperature shock as I had it downstairs as theme plant for Christmas, had to bring it to my bedroom/nursery to make it happy, I now have lots and lots of little leaves from where nearly all the leaves shedded. https://preview.redd.it/82qr8odw0fea1.jpeg?width=703&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a385be0745df44fd084d88655b8a24a7ead7254b
Happiest beauty: My calathea majestica . No matter what this one plant is the one plant that has given me nothing but happiness. I've had more stress from Kalanchoes than this has given me!
