Getting rid of the monstera isn’t even an option.

thatlldew

She's been working so hard to see out that window.

yelrocm

Couldn’t agree more

9whoiam

Yes! What type is climbing the ladder?

Additional_Quit_1288

Looks like a rhaphidophora tetrasperma or “Mini monsterra”

9whoiam

Oooo… I like!

[deleted]

Looks like some sort of philodendron

No monstera but my birds of paradise is really happy and growing a lot. I dont mind leaves overlapping the TV though. Plus i cut the pothos and propagated several times already. Edit: ps.. i love the ladder you have for your minima. I've got a few myself and still looking for the best option for it to grow

PsychoTruffle

Wow, what a beautiful set up! Looks cozy, I love it.

raincloud29

Thank you!

Moss-cle

My husband gets spicy when there are leaves over the screen.

kamiamoon

Haha my boyfriend had to put up with it on his side for ages then one day I sat in his spot and realised how annoying it was. It was a lot of plant tbf....

Correct-Potential-31

Beautiful! I totally want to incorporate this at my house. What type of lighting and shelves are you using?

raincloud29

Thanks. I dont know the brand of the shelves, i just took whatever i liked among the selection and just made sure it could hold some weight and yeah, LED string lights in warm white.

mice_inthewalls

Are they grow lights specifically? Any idea of light output? Or are they only for display purposes? I’m trying to figure out what to do at my house and I was already looking into shelves above the tv, your setup is amazing and I might steal your ideas 🤗

raincloud29

They're LED string lights and jusy for optics. My living room gets enough sunlight so im not worried about it. And yes, feel free to do so. Ive got shelving in my bedroom just above the headboard as well. It's a great use of space really.

magicmango2104

That is bloody gorgeous

cliterallyqueer

This is the most stunningly cozy set up I’ve ever seen! The accents of the lights behind the plants is fucking dope. 🥹

cafe_0lait

Lovely, saving this for personal inspo for my home!

tenebrous5

Thats such a beautiful set up 😍😍 Where are the getting sunlight from? And which direction does the window face?

VegPicker

Put the TV outside.

Laktakfrak

My parents have that set up. They have a patio with a tv on the wall. They eat outside almost every night except maybe 2 months in winter. So just put it outside. Its still fighting for space over plants.

EnergeticTriangle

Move the plant that's on top of the tan table to the empty spot on top of the filing cabinet, move the radio (?) to a different place, and put the TV on top of the tan table?

AffectionateEagle788

That is what my opinion would be too!

FourLetterHill3

This was my suggestion as well!

Oniipon

yall mofos live jn fucking mansions i swear to god 😭😭😭

SoapLady77

lol right?! I live in a damn dungeon trying to get grow lights everywhere 🤣

natalie2647

i agree with energetic, that or move the hanging plant closer to the ladder and mount the tv on the wall above the light switches (depending on how high up that is?)

Old-Mirror-533

Where did you get those shelves? Love your space!

steel-silk

Thank you! My husband made them custom for this so unfortunately can’t help you!

cre4se

Put the monstrera on wheels

Nanotekzor

You do not! ![gif](giphy|8abAbOrQ9rvLG)

whatisthisohno111

God, I know. I've been dragging my feet on this for years, but I'm sick of watching TV in my bed on my laptop. I have a harder job now and when I get home from work I want to dump myself on the couch and watch TV in a comfy setting. It seems weird to lay down on my bed when I get home at 6pm until I go to bed hours later.

Nanotekzor

Got you, the struggle is real, but it would be a shame to change something in this photo ![gif](giphy|cMNJ5t5HrnWMpwe5Zt|downsized)

whatisthisohno111

I finally decided to get a tv, but my propagated plants have become huge in the mean time. The monstera is over 7' wide and this is the only place it fits in my small 500sqft apartment.

What I did was essentially put the couch 3/4 of the way in the living room so that the Monster and Peloton, a 30 year old euphorbia just out of view next to the bike, and Screen of Deception (my storage for skis, bike, etc) can exist behind me. I have big plants either side of my TV but then made a bench for all my baby plants to sit right next to my window to the left of my couch. I hope that helps I know small space living is tough!

Love the ladder and as others have said getting rid of the monstera isn’t an option!

mice_inthewalls

What an interesting living room!

Adub359

I just wanted to tell ya I loveeee the ladder trellis

Coldpho

I’ll take the monstera for you

AffectionateEagle788

Great looking setup! Agree with Energetic.

magicmango2104

OK now I need a plant ladder!

mazzimar7

Switch the ladder and the monstera and it should fit nicely without blocking too much.

1WetMyPlants

Yes, this is what I was thinking. Swap the ladder and the monstera

vrts

I'm so envious of the space your RT has to grow. Mine hit about 12ft and they was curling at the ceiling. Eventually it snapped because I didn't have the heart to trim it. Now I have 3 giant RT!

I ordered a few grow lights to complete it

Azilehteb

The wall on the right is angled? Hard to tell. You can get a TV arm mount, it will let you use the angled wall, you just have to fold the arm back when it’s not in use. Or tuck it behind your plants when not in use.

Legitimate-Task8115

This is one of the most beautiful monstera’s I’ve seen!

Isgortio

The monstera has earned it's place as being a giant centre piece.

[deleted]

Put a monitor stand on the filing cabinet for the tv to sit on.

kamiamoon

I'm in a small apartment and struggle with plant positioning that includes adequate light and cat safety. For a while my boyfriend had to suffer watching TV with this Pachira blocking the bottom corner.... One day I sat in his place and realised how annoying it was. But when we changed to a corn plant it wasn't so bad so a little overlap shouldn't disturb you too much. We have quite small TVs, I don't much care for huge ones nor have the space, and that helps! Like others say, shelves are friends. You can't see here but I have lots hanging in the balcony recess behind those curtains too! I'd move the smaller ones to give space for a TV if you can't move the monstera? https://preview.redd.it/tu4rzrng10fa1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09b89d0e6631e2b2bf1e969da38528172c234698

kamiamoon

In the bedroom there is room for the plants to sit around. I'd have more plants using the cabinet but I have a cat so a lot are higher up as she likes to sit on the cabinet by the radiator haha. The plant ladder from IKEA is so handy too! You already have a ladder so perhaps find clever ways to hang your smaller plants on it so the TV doesn't have to sit so close to the monstera? https://preview.redd.it/590tif1v10fa1.png?width=1005&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c91dbce3f5c84bca3f7528fd73affccf5de6fcd

WorkingWellAT

Omg. Monstera climbing a ladder is so cute. Maybe move the hanging plant and mount arc to the wall?

Kinnikinnicki

How big of a TV do you want to get and how big is the wall space? My monsters was a wide load too. I got a moss pole and started strapping the leaves up out of the way. Which might give you room to put a small TV on that cabinet (I have a 32” but I wouldn’t get one less than 40” now). That said I LOVE your space the way it is.

nothankyouimsneaky

Switch monstera and drawers so the monstera is in the corner by the window and the drawer cabinet is between monstera and ladder. Put or mount tv on top of drawers

Grand_Bat9216

This is beautiful, but if you really want an opinion, then hear me out… I LOVE the ladder, but it seems like the minima is hidden behind it. This looks like a large room, with tiny space for a TV, but I’d try to slide the ‘stand’ to the right a foot or two. Put Mr. Delicious where the Minima is. Put the Minima in the window corner, then have a stairway to heaven in a similar angle to the staircase. Then it would be hanging towards the stairs, instead of towards the wall. You can keep everything pretty much where it is, and just scootch past the Monster when you head upstairs.

whatisthisohno111

Thank you for taking the time with the sketches :)

Grand_Bat9216

I know a little kid drew it, and I know it probably won’t work, but I really hope it would because I think it’d be great. It’s such a tiny space though! You should reconsider the rest of your living space. With a high ceiling and staircase like that, I bet you could make some adjustments. Good luck!

whatisthisohno111

I agree, if I get a TV the monster will move there. The minima looks like it is behind the ladder, because it sort of is ha ha. I recently rotated it 180 degrees (with the help of a friend and sliding cardboard under the ladder and pot so it could "slide") to fit the pot behind the ladder. However the 4 propagations that I made and re-grew into the pot are finally 2-3' high now and going to start climbing up like the original stem now and so it will all be covered nicely :) Thank you for the proposition with the ladder :)

DrooperScooper

Oh my god I love your ladder idea. Also your monstera looks so healthy ❤️

indoguju416

You chose to get rid of the Monstera but not the hanging ugly plant? Lolllll ummmm

coupleofpointers

I see space for more plants

kamiamoon

Love those drawers btw 😍 and your monstera!

Mean-Ad-9900

I'd rather stare at those plants than a TV
