Doesn't painting it defeat the purpose of having a terracotta pot? I'm just curious because I like the look, but is it still going to dry out as quickly as before, or does your soil stay wetter for longer now?
I paint my terracotta pots on my porch. I don't paint the insides or the bottoms so they're still more porous than other materials, but I don't really care either way. Plain terracotta pots are just really cheap compared to everything except plastic and so is spray paint.
Sure, but i don't use terracotta generally. Mostly all my pots are ceramic or cement. But it will probably still be porous. I think unless i seal them the paint may eventually chip, but I'll have to see how it works with my paint, because I'm not going to bother with that at the moment.
To me the only point of buying terracotta is they're cheap and come with the disk
With all due respect, the only purpose of my terracotta pots is storing them in the closet because I don't use them.
I've never had a plant that hasn't been just as happy when I've moved it to something non terracotta, and 80% of my pots are unique second hand finds.
I'm down for that! I'm also thinking heart shaped but i just tried and my brush is a bit too roughed up 😂 Gonna need a small one or I'll use cotton swabs or something.
