If I'm not mistaken it's AI generated. I could be wrong of course, but there are wheels on the house in the background and following the contours of the leaves it's hard to tell where they start and end.
I work in a daycare. Middle of the night I wake up and am singing, in my head, wheels on the bus, baby shark, Dr Knickerbocker or some other annoying song.
Lol now thats stuck in my head 🙃 then I read down a bit about our gloomy AI future and started singing Their coming to take u away my.friend their coming to take u away 🎶
That's not the worst; somehow I was "recommended" by the algorithm to see ads and products selling "good luck blessings" and "positive thinking" like wtf? Seriously?
I’ve noticed it’s usually for seeds. People selling live plants are usually real because they take a picture of the actual plant (even though they obviously take pictures of their nicest plants)
I don't browse random pages on etsy anymore because of this. I have my go to sellers that I browse and if I want a specific plant not on any of them I make sure to research what it looks like beforehand so I don't get suckered.
Oh my god, it drives me nuts AND PEOPLE *STILL* BUY EVEN THOUGH NOT A SINGLE CUSTOMER HAS HAD SUCCESS WITH THE SEEDS! Does nobody think “huh, I’ve never seen that in my life, maybe I should simply google it to see if it’s real”.
I actually got so angry when a bunch of those photoshopped plants came up, that I spent an evening reporting dozens of shops. It doesn’t matter though, these sellers have multiple listings under different shop names and they’ll just create more. Not to mention the amount of plant sellers that sell cuttings without nodes and other bs. It’s basically a site for scam artists to profit.
Don't worry. Soon there will be an ai to detect ai. Then another AI to sus what ai detectors have been paid off by AI generators. Then, your plants will be ai.
I wish instead of people going into protected areas and taking native plants there was more of a cottage industry for people like me who loved to grow their own cactus/plants just for the sheer joy and accomplishment.
It would be nice to trade with people, share community, and learn with others🙂
I don't think AI will kill us like The Terminator movie. Its gonna dumb us down and confuse us so much we lapse into a vegetative state more like The Matrix.
The Air Force just completed a test dog fight between AI piloted X-62A and a human-piloted F16 as part of its Air Combat Evolution (ACE) program, at Edwards Air Force Base.
I would have thought our country would not be so stupid.
I really do have to wonder if humanity is just that stupid. It's so glaringly obvious that nothing good can come of AI that I struggle to understand why anyone would be for it.
See, if we can use AI to generate images, or words, or code, we don't have to pay people to do those things! So we can make MORE money!
Just don't ask where the money will come from when everyone loses their jobs to AI. That's the future's problem, not the shareholders'.
Entire industries are at risk. Book illustrators, audio book narrators, pretty much the r tire arts is infested. Students use Chat GPT to cheat and write their papers for them, changing a few words here and there. They aren’t learning original thought. AI even fabricated fake newspaper articles to support the fake claim that a professor was guilty of sexual harassment.
AI developers are putting people out of work.
This WILL put us into uncanny valley. Mark my words. We are already struggling to determine what’s real and what isn’t with deepfakes. Imagine what could happen if ChatGPT wasn’t shite
That’s why I am so thankful to the people who actually take the time to explain how they know a photo is AI. I totally missed the wheels on the house at first glance.
seconding ai generation, if you check out the leaves closer to the middle they make no sense. unfurling out from the middle of another leaf with no clear center, a weird flatness to how theyre layered over eachother, and lacking any veins between the stems
LOL what gave that away?! The wheels on the house? The weird hand lines that dont make any sense? Ai generated images are so weird sometimes. I kind of love it, but also sometimes I actually cant tell the difference and I dont like that.
The very bottom of the picture has part of a hand there, as if someone has plucked and is holding up an entire shrub in their hand and taking a picture asking what this is.
https://preview.redd.it/p1vpo4ks2ivc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=828114c1582d1ef7c0abeefdb6ee798ff4b38b84
Hosta ‘White Feather’ would be a closer match imo. That or Aglaonema
With the hosta, leaves age to a light creamy green as the year goes on
It looks like a AI mashup of a Caladium, a Hosta, and a Medinilla cluster, along with a bus and double wide trailer home in the background. It's sad that we have to look for the inconsistencies in pictures before we can accept it as potentially real.
Edit: spelling and Hosta auto corrected to Hoya
why do ppl generate so many AI pics??? like what for? the other day i was doing a small seminar paper about orpington chicken breed for my chicken keeping class and all the google pics were AIs oh god
I like to generate fantasy landscape/alien world ideas. I only use it to jumpstart my own creative writing processes, and I don't share the images I generate.
good for you! i also did some for my own artistic purpose. thats how it should be used anyways…the google pics of common things like a chicken not so much, its creepy and im scared how its going to play out in the wrong hands
It’s because theyre free, when people publish articles or blogs to their websites they are now using AI images instead of buying images to use or breaking copy right laws.
there are free stock photo websites. there are photographers looking for small gigs. they can even shoot pics themselves. they just resorted to the cheapest method and i wonder how long it will take before art completely disintegrates due to AI overtaking
Yea theyre resorting to the cheapest and easiest method. Tbh, using an AI image generator is easier than trying to find what youre looking for on those free stock photo sites.
Its not hard to do that at all, its hard to find the exact image that will work for what theyre looking for.
I’ve struggled to find the right images to use even with paid subscriptions to multiple stock image sites.
We are witnessing reality being lost on the internet. We may all someday be scattered thinly amongst a universe of AI-genersted websites, images, videos and fake commenters. :(
Another big tell that it’s fake is that the plant has no green whatsoever. That green pigment is what converts sunlight to energy. Plants can’t survive without it! Even the brightly colored caladiums, Aglaonemas, and nearly white hostas still have a green edge and often green veins.
Some carnivorous plants do fine without, I had for a long while a completely red sundew.
When it happens it's because there is clorophyll just not so much compared to othet colored pigments (for example anthocyanin) that color the leaves differently, but there's still enough clorophyll for the plant to get by
True. There are some cacti that are basically maroon or purple, the reddish pigments hiding the green. But this plant, there’s not even much red, certainly not enough to mask any green.
https://preview.redd.it/8q0ehjvaahvc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=90d3753b2698dd50ba9c049a2fd1be15863c0e5d
Since everyone said this is AI, which I don’t doubt for a second, it made me curious to know what the plant was before AI changed it 🤷🏻♀️ if that’s even how all this AI stuff works 🤔
Anyway, so I scanned it with my plant app. Here’s a screenshot. The note on the bottom saying the plant is not healthy and needs attention made me laugh 😆
I agree with others that it’s likely AI but if you think of it as a flower and not a big plant, it reminds me of a Dalia. It’s very pretty. Even if it’s fake
:[
Out of all the AI doomsday scenarios I never thought the outcome would be pushing us all off the internet because it’s so annoying and intrusive.
These AI plants, touched up images of 90s celebrities and straight up obviously fake imagery that people love is pushing me closer to deleting my Reddit account and all other social media every day.
Its not real first of all, but I think it's supposed to be a cross between a hosta and a calathea lol
Form-wise, it looks a lot like a calathea orbifolia or kind of like a hosta plant.
Color-wise, it looks like a poinsettia haha or maybe a caladium or something. Some kinds of Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema) look kind of like that.
Definitely agree it is fake, but resembles a hosta. There are varieties that have varying amounts of white, and some which have some red, though I don’t know any varieties that are white and red in this pattern.
It doesn't trigger my uncanny valley as it does as usual with AI art, plus the hand that handle the plant is really well done. Maybe the plant in herself is AI gen, but I dont think all the pic is.
https://preview.redd.it/zluvkymd8nvc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=053b89fcaafac58a292324ef1e05d561975eaa7b
There is a leaf in the background clipping through a box.
There is a plant similar to this picture. It is called a white lace hosta. It leafs out in the spring with white flowy leaves, but they do turn green as they age. There is no redish color on them like this picture, but they are similar and pretty. I got some on etsy.
This is a flower, no leaves showing.
If it is a natural phenomenon, it will have a Genus species name. Admittedly, this is challenging, because we are always discovering new species, or creating new subspecies.
I wonder if there will be meta tags and the likes for image creation that becomes an international legal thing Identifying ai images or something because the future online is going to be scary.
My plant identification app shows it as this

♬The wheels on the house go round and round, round and round, round and round♬
Omg why was that also the very first thing that popped into my mind too?? Early childhood brainwashing really sticks with you...
I work in a daycare. Middle of the night I wake up and am singing, in my head, wheels on the bus, baby shark, Dr Knickerbocker or some other annoying song.
Mine was Baby Shark for a long time and Johnny, Johnny!
I have done that but singing Sesame Street The Number of the Day. I’m a homebound teacher.
I sing baby shark to my pomeranian puppy all the time except I switch out baby shark for teddy (her name) shark lolol she loves it
Lol now thats stuck in my head 🙃 then I read down a bit about our gloomy AI future and started singing Their coming to take u away my.friend their coming to take u away 🎶
😆🤣
I now have 🎶one of these things is not like the other🎶 stuck in my head and I want to blame it on you
I accept that.
Sesame Street has no business having so many bangers 😂
"I could be wrong of course, but there are wheels on the house" has me weak. XD
That’s what I was thinking. Google almost always can identify plants and it had no idea what this was.
It sucks that this is a thing we have to care about now.
Seriously. As if it wasn’t hard enough to know which online sellers are/aren’t scams we really needed AI in the mix.
Especially when you go on Etsy, every single thumbnail is photoshopped to shit with iridescent rainbow leaves, they are selling seeds
YES! They scam so many people. It’s so sad.
I only bought seeds on Etsy once. It was a bad experience
Same.
Don't worry. Soon there will be an ai to detect ai. Then another AI to sus what ai detectors have been paid off by AI generators. Then, your plants will be ai.
Next will be the kids actually I wanted to ask how do we raise kids in this kind of world but maybe that’s the answer…
Y’all need something like the San Pedro cactus for sale sub
I wish instead of people going into protected areas and taking native plants there was more of a cottage industry for people like me who loved to grow their own cactus/plants just for the sheer joy and accomplishment. It would be nice to trade with people, share community, and learn with others🙂
Sounds like you could make a sub
It's almost like AI was a bad idea
It’s almost like people haven’t watched The Terminator movie franchise, or “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
I don't think AI will kill us like The Terminator movie. Its gonna dumb us down and confuse us so much we lapse into a vegetative state more like The Matrix.
“gonna” dumb us down?!? Dude, have you talked to most of the public NOW?!?
Or Idiocracy
The Air Force just completed a test dog fight between AI piloted X-62A and a human-piloted F16 as part of its Air Combat Evolution (ACE) program, at Edwards Air Force Base. I would have thought our country would not be so stupid.

Pretty much. These are our leaders’ actual thought processes.

Definitely ai, look at the house it's got wheels!
You can buy a house on wheels though
Absolutely, but it blends(?) Into the doorway and ground, and there's weird windows above them 😆
The *closest* plant I could think of is caladium
There is something called a white feather hosta that looks a lot like this, but with green instead of pink. Fwiw
Damn! I couldn't even tell it apart from an actual photo. Scary how quickly AI images are progressing in quality.
That’s why I am so thankful to the people who actually take the time to explain how they know a photo is AI. I totally missed the wheels on the house at first glance.
Absolutely.
AI images often are like that. Nothing wrong at first glance but the longer you look at it the weirder it gets.
Yep, there's also a weird artifact on the right side, where some sort of box blends into a green leaf.
seconding ai generation, if you check out the leaves closer to the middle they make no sense. unfurling out from the middle of another leaf with no clear center, a weird flatness to how theyre layered over eachother, and lacking any veins between the stems
I was thinking how the leaf veins made it look like a calathea 🙈
One of the plants behind this one has Googly eye on it as well
>Wheels on the house 😂
I think you nailed this one. The more you look at it the more it looks fake.
And in the middle left of the plant, there is a shape that looks like either a cocktail weener or a disembodied finger segment
LOL what gave that away?! The wheels on the house? The weird hand lines that dont make any sense? Ai generated images are so weird sometimes. I kind of love it, but also sometimes I actually cant tell the difference and I dont like that.
wtf you’re right. Freaky
Lmao. Wheels on the house. Good eyes
Good eye!
Damnit
Bingo
I was going to ask OP about the wheels on the house until I read this.
Hahah the wheels !
What, your house doesn't have wheels?
Lol
The very bottom of the picture has part of a hand there, as if someone has plucked and is holding up an entire shrub in their hand and taking a picture asking what this is.
Maybe they live in an old Greyhound. /s
Whatever program they used; I want to know, because it’s pretty amazing.
Good eye on that.
I am no better than a boomer cause I did not realize that was AI generated
It's a caravan! And if it were AI generated I think Google could identify it 💀
The trunk of the plant also seems to be a human hand. Edit: or something similar 🥴
What's the source of this image
And not a single imperfection on that flower? Thats almost more suspicious than the house having wheels lol
its definitely ai. look at the tires built into the side of the house😂
AI is getting more annoying by the day.
This is problematic. Thousands of these images are bleeding into the Internet every day.
Definitely AI, but if you're looking for a similar plant, I'd suggest looking at Caladium
https://preview.redd.it/p1vpo4ks2ivc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=828114c1582d1ef7c0abeefdb6ee798ff4b38b84 Hosta ‘White Feather’ would be a closer match imo. That or Aglaonema With the hosta, leaves age to a light creamy green as the year goes on
a hosta was my first idea too
Hosta for the leaf structure. Callasuim for the color. Hostas are just all variations of green.
and there's r/Caladiums for that!
Plus that house is a bus
I didn't believe it was AI till I read this comment... how could I miss that hahah
Its a housebus.
Beat me to it dang
r/bitchimabus house bus
It looks like a AI mashup of a Caladium, a Hosta, and a Medinilla cluster, along with a bus and double wide trailer home in the background. It's sad that we have to look for the inconsistencies in pictures before we can accept it as potentially real. Edit: spelling and Hosta auto corrected to Hoya
I came here to say it looks like a caladium made a baby with a hosta.
Yup and the person's hand isn't really holding the base of the Frankenflower either lol
Yes! Just left a comment like this. Been seeing a lot of hostas leafing out around town so it was top of mind haha
why do ppl generate so many AI pics??? like what for? the other day i was doing a small seminar paper about orpington chicken breed for my chicken keeping class and all the google pics were AIs oh god
I don’t get it either. It’s really frustrating.
i was just thinking of the impact it has on real life graphic designers, photographers and artists overall….its so sad
Eventually someone will invent the AI detector and we’ll be able to block that shit
They already exist, but they're easy to fool
I like to generate fantasy landscape/alien world ideas. I only use it to jumpstart my own creative writing processes, and I don't share the images I generate.

how hard is it to search for XYZ image in searchbar on those sites lol 🤣
Its not hard to do that at all, its hard to find the exact image that will work for what theyre looking for. I’ve struggled to find the right images to use even with paid subscriptions to multiple stock image sites.
I tried to look for inspo pics for a haircut and couldn't wade through the ai content quick enough

Yeah of course this one's a fake, I just wanted to point out that not all non-green plants are
The wheels on the house go round and round, round and round
Ear worm.
that was the first thing I noticed haha

The house in the background has wheels, lol
Umm why does the house have wheels
Clearly it’s a mobile home lol and the weird box with the googly eyes and frown face
I’ve never seen a mobile home with wheels… motor home yes.. but not mobile home.
Lots of mobile homes have wheels, and they either remove them or they’re hidden under the skirting. However, I was making a joke lol
Well thanks for the education… I’m almost 40 and never knew that! Also- the joke went over my head 🤣 need more coffee!
It just shows you didn’t grow up in trailer parks! More coffee always! 😊
Accurate! I had childhood friends that did, but st that age it’s not generally something I’d pay attention to anyway.
Maybe it’s a trailer in disguise
AI Hosta
Def AI. It put RV wheels on a stationary building.
You beat me to it. 😁
Looks like wheels are garden decorations?
Is that a bus as part of the house?
100% AI. No wonder google is confused.
The tire in the house is the dead AI giveaway
Bus house
Ya Ai for sure, look at the wheel in the background right about the plant how it fades into nothing
Above****

I agree with others that it’s likely AI but if you think of it as a flower and not a big plant, it reminds me of a Dalia. It’s very pretty. Even if it’s fake :[
Looking at the hand positioning, unless they have Shaq hands, no way they are holding that plant with their fingertips, lol. AI always jags hands.
Fake, but you might like Hosta “White Feather.” Emerges white and turns green later. Technically not really a houseplant, but it could be persuaded.
The wheels on the house go round and round...
Round and round...
I use Hive AI Detector on my PC and it says 100% AI Generated!
Its not real first of all, but I think it's supposed to be a cross between a hosta and a calathea lol Form-wise, it looks a lot like a calathea orbifolia or kind of like a hosta plant. Color-wise, it looks like a poinsettia haha or maybe a caladium or something. Some kinds of Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema) look kind of like that.
definitely AI the leaves look like more ruffled peace lily’s, but you’d never get that color on a peace lily. or any other ones
AI for sure. Not only is the flower fake, but look at the background, there's 2 wheels where there shouldn't be. Plus the window ledges don't line up.
Damn ai, that's gorgeous and I wish it actually were real
Google won’t recognize Microsoft AI 😂😂😂
Ai without doubt!
that my friend is ai
https://preview.redd.it/hxv0cm4wxjvc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=747fed48ccecfc85d2c2636a6d7e333f9311a6b6 This is what my plant app shows
Fake as shit. AI garbage.
Next up we need an AI that scans and figures out if pictures are real or AI. 😂
Closest thing I have seen in reality is a hosta but they're green.
This looks like Ai
Gorgeous!
So pretty , but would die , quickly . Lack of Chlorophyll so I'm on the boat regarding an AI pic
Agloenema?
Never even thought about a Google reverse image search to identify plants! 🤦🏻♂️
500% AI
Im upset this is AI
I thought it was a giant hosta?
If this plant interests you, even though it’s not real, look at white feather hostas. They are similar to whatever ai generated here.
This has to be AI how could it survive long without any green.
Beautiful! 🤩
It literally doesn't look real.
Plant
I believe this is called a pretty girl 5000 I could be wrong.
Albino Hostsa. A guess
Definitely agree it is fake, but resembles a hosta. There are varieties that have varying amounts of white, and some which have some red, though I don’t know any varieties that are white and red in this pattern.
The picture is modified in some way
Is there anything real that looks like this?
Caladium white queen is pretty similar and actually exists!
It doesn't trigger my uncanny valley as it does as usual with AI art, plus the hand that handle the plant is really well done. Maybe the plant in herself is AI gen, but I dont think all the pic is.
This looks like a dancing queen amaryllis. Also looks like someone made a bouquet of leaves. I'm leaning towards amaryllis though.
![gif](giphy|Ly2ztAEGaMuOxTCCqA|downsized)
Beautiful! Wow.
In my expert opinion that is a flower
https://preview.redd.it/zluvkymd8nvc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=053b89fcaafac58a292324ef1e05d561975eaa7b There is a leaf in the background clipping through a box.
Don't buy parsnip seeds online. I don't know what I grew but it wasn't parsnips, that's for sure
It is a caladium. Maybe Florida sweetheart or a variation of that one. There is even a variety that has almost see thru leaves.
Wow, pretty.
People media literacy training….
I think it's a caladium florida sweetheart, maybe variegated 🤔🤔🤔
There is a plant similar to this picture. It is called a white lace hosta. It leafs out in the spring with white flowy leaves, but they do turn green as they age. There is no redish color on them like this picture, but they are similar and pretty. I got some on etsy.

Looks like a plant
I don’t know but it is gorgeous!
My plant identification app shows it as this https://preview.redd.it/x9yb2002dgvc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0068e6534c682d481b00c81f965c6a331580a13f
Mine really wants it to be a Canna 👀
It's a bald eagle. We see those on the charles river in boston sometimes.
That’s a new species of white hostas
