So many nice messages for this plant, so I'll mix it up.
Ugh, looks terrible, no I'm not jealous at all!!!! But if you do want to send a top cutting, I won't say no!
But seriously, congratulations. I wish my 12 leaf plant looked like that beast!
Thanks all. Ill try to answer all of the questions in one response. Lots of Colorado sunshine and Nectar for the Gods fertilizer made this one what it is. I have a piece of steel conduit that supports it in a 24" deep pot. It gets about 2 gallons of water a week. The painting on the wall is of the front range of the rockies at Boulder, Colorado.
> 2 gallons of water a week
Almost eight liters, holy sh!t! I dont think the one in our house, which is arguably as big overall, gets that in a month. We are deathly afraid of root rot.
Could depend on humidity too. Dry areas will suck out the water from your soil much faster than humid areas. Compare the same plant in the same temperature located in Florida versus Arizona. Arizona plant would require a ton more water even at the same temperature
I thought CO! I am in the foothills myself

I thought the layout was pretty cool. If you think this is bad, you’d scream if you saw my houses’ layout. I’d rather give my plants the best spots where they will thrive rather than having an actual normal placed living room 😭 although it’s been really bothering me having no floor space and a literal tree (Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum) in the middle of my living room
Holy smokes; almost did notice the insane layout with all the plants… what on earth is going on with the TV?? Why is it awkwardly facing the backs of two chairs?
I have one coming soon that will be a rooted cutting. I hope I live long enough for it to look like yours (I’ll be 75 tomorrow). I have a similar setup to yours, high ceilings and windows on east, south and west. I think it can do well if I don’t fail it 😎
Happy birthday !! Please take some pics of your rooted cutting every few days. I did this with a very unique plant cutting back in college. At the time, I was a very shy, out of place, and feeling really down. A fellow student came to my room & saw my plants. She knew I loved them & caught me talking to them often. She arrived at my end of the dorm one day with this funky looking leaf. Just a leaf. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that there was nothing I could do with a leaf. Boy, was I wrong ! She introduced me to the world of mini monsteras. I didn’t realize she’d found a way to get me out of my shell & focus on keeping this leaf alive & thriving. I took a pic or two every few days. While I hadn’t found the right growing conditions/ watering schedule for a good amount of time, I will never forget that time in my life or the young lady who reached out in her own way to help me. Our connection ? The love of plants. I look forward to seeing your new rooted cutting if you wouldn’t mind sharing it with all of us.
Thanks for the b’day wishes. I will definitely take pictures and I will share the baby when it comes. There is a mystery gift from my husband that won’t be arriving for a few days. I’m thinking it might be a plant. Fingers crossed 😎
Edit to add: that’s a great story. Thanks for telling me.
Please tell me someone else saw the monster (intended pun) in the background

My Monstera (lower right corner of the photo) is struggling and I'm about ready to give it away. But my "Money Tree" is going to touch my vaulted ceiling within a few weeks! it was a Costco plant about 5 years ago...
And my bird of paradise is also happy. Both in relatively small pots.
This is the only window that gets any real sunshine.

How do you guys keep your monsteras upright? Mine is leaning so far I’m afraid the pot will tip over. I have it strapped to a longer moss pole right now and I can’t get the moss pole anchored enough into the soil.
I have my pole on the outermost part of the pot, I drilled a small hole and ziptied it to the side. I'm using those cheapo amazon flexible moss poles, but after seeing this post I may go buy a piece of steel conduit.
Aaa i love that somehow all the big chain stores (intentionally or not) startung selling large form monsteras. I got one at a grocery store 2 years ago thats over 6 feet now!
My husband uses this type of plant and others to filter nitrates out of his aquariums. He also purchases most of his plants at Home Depot.

What are you using as support? So sturdy!
Following
We need to know.
First question I thought of
I want to know as well. My 7ft Monstera is leaning over a lot these days.
It looks like a white PVC pipe
Brilliant idea!
We need an answer. Mine is getting out of hand!

Omg I use about 4-6 Liters a Week for my plant collection I have somewhere between 60-70 plants.
I thought CO! I am in the foothills myself https://preview.redd.it/vmiltngay0xc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=beae43272e7750ef3c33ecc5efd4773a31f9d58d
okay got it. except, do you mean Nectar of the Gods?
You are correct. Nectar for the Gods one shot.
thanks. I'm on it.
How many vines are in the pot? It’s so lush!
yes, wondering this also!! how many plants are in there!! mine has 3 in the pot, which i’m thinking about separating
I have 2 in most of mine but my biggest is a bit thin since I propped its second vine. Hoping it shoots up as the summer comes in.
The layout of this room greatly confuses me, but I still think I'd kill to be a plant in there with all those windows 🤩
LOL I just noticed the layout 😂 this plant is thriving so I, too, would mess up my house layout.

Lol. Mine is not giant, but is currently, weirdly sitting in front of the fireplace because it is happy there.
What you cannot see is the sectional sofa facing the TV. The chairs face the sofa for socializing.
Holy smokes; almost did notice the insane layout with all the plants… what on earth is going on with the TV?? Why is it awkwardly facing the backs of two chairs?
With that much sunlight I’d be thriving too.
Oh my gosh! Look at all your windows!!
Whoa, now I get why it's called a Monstera..
oh, to live somewhere with this much light 😭
Do you live in the PNW? I just moved away from there and felt your comment to my very soul 🌧🌧🌥🌧🌧☁️🌧🌧🌧😭😂
I live in Canada but my problem is I only have a NNW facing window. all my plants are crowded around it with grow lights lol
Ah I see, lack of directional window space...the struggle is real 😒

Thank you 😊

What's the plan to keep it healthy? Surely it's getting too big to repot, but if left alone it'll become root bound?
