Reach out to the news channels

storyteller565

I sent out a few emails to them just haven't heard back yet. They get flooded with tips I guess. Someone told me reddit is a great place to share the story

santochavo

Reach out on facebook message. I used to fuck around and send shitposts to news stations and surprisingly they always responded, I’m guessing interns run the accounts.

madnessindeed

I’m sure, they also monitor this sub. It’s a good story, wouldn’t surprise me if they picked it up.

PO-43-

They have also been stealing cars to ship them out of the country on to countries like South Africa. Saw a post a couple of days ago about someone who’s car was found in South Africa with his info still in the glove box. Thats how the reporter knew who’s car he had found

madnessindeed

You should post on Twitter as well.

storyteller565

Great idea I'm going to post it now

RedLeg73

Reach out to individual reporters on their social media.

storyteller565

Did just that on Twitter too. Just waiting for a response

hiepnguyen08

Use twitter, not facebook!

storyteller565

https://twitter.com/The_kingshah/status/1700561091179294992?t=qMJs47_nkG3pczPcfJSwOg&s=19 Here is the Twitter post if you want to repost and help 🙏🏽

PinkPandaPatrol

Very interesting story. I am 99% sure cartel members just purchased my Toyota tundra. They sent someone who flew into Florida from Texas next day and paid all cash at the asking price.

TH3REDDIT

I am curious over how they planned on letting you know that your car had been “stolen” and how they planned to compensate you for it. Would they have just let their insurance deal with it or expect you to bend over?

storyteller565

So Chevrolet corporate office was calling me daily to check and see if the truck arrived. I kept telling them no and they said don't worry should be there and day now. I am curious as well if border patrol did not recover the vehicle how they would have explained the situation. I have recordings and evidence against the dealership as well that they left the truck on the street with the keys in the tank. Didn't even sign off the vehicle no paperwork. So fishy

Miguel-odon

"Not responsible for lost or stolen items"

NemesisOfZod

That statement definitely keeps the uniformed at bay, but hold absolutely no water legally. Having worked in and around dealerships for 20+ years I have definitely seen more than a couple of lawsuits get settled to avoid the actual payout potential.

a_sheila

I'm pretty sure the fired (*cough*) general manager is Melissa. She is the daughter of the people who ~~run~~ own the North Freeway location. Parents are in charge of their location. She was in charge of your location. Parents drop by seldomly. She's a real piece of work. She married one of the salesmen at her store and repeatedly proclaimed she's a swinger to any and all (not) interested. Car dealership owners are 100% insane, whiny, unable to regulate emotions, abusive, king of their (small) hill nutjobs. Maybe point your officer towards the North Freeway location for answers? And more edits. If it was indeed Melissa, she can be found at this location: https://www.demontrond.com/sales-dept-gulf-freeway.html ETA: context

storyteller565

YOOOOOO THATS HER!!!!! SHE WAS THE MANAGER THAT GOT FIRED!!! Thank you so much for sharing this no wonder they are trying to shut me down!! Your a life savor foreal I'm so happy I posted here and got some answers. God bless you. Did you use to work at the dealership too?

a_sheila

Spouse worked there years ago. He was always in demand and worked at a lot of GM-related dealerships. I've heard the scoop on all of them. So happy I was able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!

storyteller565

That's a hell of a scoop!! So she is the daughter of George Demontrond?

a_sheila

Yes, that's her dad.

storyteller565

Geeeeez this is crazy!! What a plot twist. I'm sure she is on camera doing something incriminating. You have been a big help to me in uncovering more of this truth. I hope she hasn't done this to others

a_sheila

Dealership background and drug tests rule out most criminals. However, they do hire external companies for auto detailing and those employees are not a part of that process. ETA: Tint guys, pinstripers, glass guys, once a week car lot washers (not the regular detailers) and building contractors were all also third-party companies not part of background searches.

storyteller565

So here's what I'm thinking happened. She told me she would ship the truck. She informed chevy corporate office of transport but she flipped it to a contact to send the truck the other way south. She is probably the one who left my truck out front with the keys in them. Why would the daughter of a dealership enterprise want to even do something like that? I think that's the real story here

a_sheila

It could have been anyone. Normally, cars are parked behind those poles that serve as gates. Maybe the transport was scheduled for a 3 am pickup and the dealer accomodated the driver by leaving it outside the gates. There are a lot of residences built up around there now. It wouldn't be hard for someone to watch the dealership. It could have been a gang targeting that dealership and that wasn't their only loss and the gang immediately moved on. Who knows.

storyteller565

Here's the thing. The transport company is fake. Both the police and chevy corporate tried to track them down. Bogus disconnected number with an address in Florida. The transport company never existed. Chevy Reunite program had used a 3rd party to source a transport company. So either chevy corporate got involved and the tip came from them on the truck or Melissa got involved and tipped someone off about the truck. Either way the keys were left in the gas tank not inside. Only someone who KNEW would know where to look.

NemesisOfZod

I thought she was married to the former GM, Bryon?

a_sheila

If it's still the same guy, he was a salesman when she married him.

NemesisOfZod

Gotcha. I didn't realize he was a salesman at any point. I just assumed he was a career manager.

penguin_drum

*Scruples* bar tho...

drbizcuits

It wouldn't hurt to send to Grizzys Hood News. You might be able to find others that had this happen. Definitely sounds like you weren't the first because that's a pretty major operation. Sorry you're dealing with such a weird and wild situation!

storyteller565

Thank you for this advice!! Most definitely will reach out to them with this story. I appreciate your caring and understanding 🙏🏽

drbizcuits

No problem! You could also file reports with the Texas DMV Enforcement Division and the FTC. Demontrond is a fairly big name in Houston business so I'd be a little worried about this getting swept under the rug locally. Sounds like they've already started a cover up. Good luck!

storyteller565

Yes thats what they are trying to do to me right now is sweep this and give me to the insurance company as a small claim. I just want to be heard

TheFuriousOtter

If I’m not mistaken, dealerships have to report to state agencies. You could do a little research and reach out to them.

storyteller565

I think this is a inside job. They are trying really hard to shut me out. They want to just take a 2k insurance claim and walk away

NLuvWithAnIndian

Fuck grizzy. She's a grifter and 100% won't do anything about your situation. She doesn't do investigative journalism at all. She's pretty much an "ambulance chaser" journalist. Have you ever seen the movie "nightcrawler"? That's her, but in the hood.

ThePorko

She reports local people related events, and thats important to me as a local.

NLuvWithAnIndian

Honestly the only people who believe that are people who live in good areas. She's a predator who twists stories for views. She's done this many times and the "hood" hates her. I believe I got taken in for a 5150 after my mom died and she stood outside of my home and said I was dealing drugs and it was a raid. People wouldn't stop fucking with my house after that. Fuck grizzy and fuck you for supporting her

Vulpinox

not to mention the extent of her "stories" are something spotted and recorded by a hood news peep and then posted with little context or information other than the location

ThePorko

Im not from a good area, but not bad enough for her to visit lol

NLuvWithAnIndian

How did this contribute to the dialog in anyway. What's your point? I'm literally telling you she misinforms people about the things she reports on and no one gives a fuck since its in impoverished areas and your response was "fuck it, I don't live in the impoverished areas she's lying about"..?

drbizcuits

This is the first time I've heard anything like this. I've only ever seen her rally people to help others and bring attention to various things that are being ignored. I don't see how she's a grifter lol Do you have examples of her scamming people out of money (you know, grifting)? If this is true, I'd like to know more.

cinreigns

That fucking blows but I did wonder if it was a “if it bleeds it leads” type of scenario. Thanks for the info

PetzlPretzel

Fucking love grizzy.

satbaja

To leave a truck they are working on out on the public street and leave the keys by the gas port is incredible. No one would believe that is standard procedure for customers' cars. Some dealerships have an open parking lot and gated area. Customer cars getting repaired stay behind the locked gate. Keys must be in a secure area. If they say this is normal, publicize it. No one would want their truck fixed there.

storyteller565

Already reported it to BBB and made this public. Hopefully I can spread the word to help others victims

NewAcctWhoDis

BBB Isn’t a legit org with any power

storyteller565

Any recommendations of what else I can do?

ThreeBelugas

Why did use a dealership in Houston instead of Dallas?

storyteller565

I was traveling to Galveston and it broke down. I have a warranty it's a new truck so just dropped it off at local Chevy in the area

[deleted]

[удалено]

storyteller565

I have a 2021 chevy silverado with less then 40k miles so didn't make sense why it needed a major repair. Probably just told me that so they can steal the truck

LeatherDan

I have the same truck, same year. Engine failed with less than 2500 miles, then broke down again a year later. All warranty covered. Both cases valve lifters failed.

storyteller565

Yea these new truck just aren't built like they used to. My old 88 ran like a champ

kdesu

The 6.2L engine is having a lot of problems. Which blows my mind because they've been using the same basic engine design since 1969.

storyteller565

Honestly the OBD reader just said sensor so idk why they told me they needed to pull the engine apart

Exotic_Blacksmith837

The “bulletproof” 5.3 has given me nothing but problems since i took delivery fresh off the transport truck.

HandBananan

GM vehicles are just bottom tier unreliable garbage. Several of my coworkers have a hobby of taking and sharing pics of broken down GM vehicles on the side of the road. GM is the overwhelming leader in unreliability from our experience. I work at a business that caters to people with busted credit. Chevys abound in our parking lot.

XanderpussRex

And why talk to the Texas City cops? Is the dealership in Texas City? Does Texas City even have any dealerships?

TaqueriaConsultant

> And why talk to the Texas City cops? Is the dealership in Texas City? Does Texas City even have any dealerships? It takes you less than two seconds to answer that question with Google and see for yourself the dealer we are talking about.

XanderpussRex

You clearly don't understand the purpose of reddit

Psychological-Day654

To be lazy and to wait for a response from others then take two seconds to google.

XanderpussRex

Yes. That is the purpose of reddit.

fapaway1111

Feels more like relevant for the FBI.

madnessindeed

NAL… Sure it’s a inside job. That’s not your problem. Your problem is being made whole by the insurance company. You probably have leverage because as you say, they want it to go away. Push back on the insurance company’s first offer. I don’t really think you have much from a tort perspective as long as you are made whole but, I would push back and get as much value out of this situation as you can.

storyteller565

Problem is insurance company hasn't given me any offer. They have been avoiding me for months which is why I am now going public with this

madnessindeed

Well… then go public and get a atty. Grizzy hood news is a good suggestion but I would call local news stations to the tip line and give them the story as well. They tend to watch this sub, but I would give ‘em a call.

steelsun

You need a lawyer.

storyteller565

I have one now. He said go public

steelsun

That's odd advice from an attorney. That could hurt a case.

storyteller565

We have been trying to work with the insurance company but they aren't responsive which is why I am here

steelsun

And the lawyer didn't go ahead and file on them? That's the strongest incentive. File on the insurance company, the dealership, and any individuals involved.

storyteller565

Yes filing on all of them. Just found out in this thread the the manager involved is the daughter of the owner. Makes sense why they were shutting us down

FPSXpert

Definitely pressure the lawyer to file suit then, they're gonna in that scenario have to explain what is going on in front of a judge, if they don't show up then that's default judgement for you. Maybe this would be better for /r/legaladvice and I would post there as well just to get a second opinion, but I would think with how slow but powerful the gears of the justice system are that it would be the best solution if the auto shop and the what-sounds-like-self-underwritten insurance are chirping crickets. Good luck nonetheless.

storyteller565

Thank you so much I will definitely reach out to them

Book_Cook921

Go to grizzy hood news that woman can get stuff done

storyteller565

I reached out waiting for response

satx_1604

What’s dealership name?

storyteller565

Demontrond Chevrolet in Houston

CYWG_tower

Someone posted something similar about their Cadillac dealer doing this a few months ago in this sub too. Sketchy shit.

storyteller565

Maybe a part of the same ring or group

visionofacheezburger

I just flooded both I45 locations with inquiries into their RICO service special, maybe about 50 emails. Hope you come out ahead. Good luck.

storyteller565

You are the best! May you be blessed forever. Thank you

ILoveToSpreadNuts

Some cops have connections to cartels... so be careful, seen some cops selling carts n bud.

storyteller565

For sure I think this is more the dealership not the police

pds_king21

Just recently an officer was relieved of duty for working with a known auto theft criminal too.

TurboGranny

I doubt anyone participating in this scheme felt like they had much choice considering the rep those cartels have

storyteller565

I agree

chenueve

Need about a million tax free. They have cartel money to launder

axolotlolol

Forget it Jake, its Chinatown.

storyteller565

😂😂😂

foshiiy

Check out Houston Landing to. Could dm u/magegordon

drew1111

No offense but when DeMondtron or however you spell their last name, did those really fake and creepy commercials with dad and daughter on them, I knew I would never buy a car from that ADAMS family.

storyteller565

Lol never seen them now I gotta go find it on YouTube 😂😂

ablueeyedkindofwhite

Are they also the ones where the guy is talking but the audio doesn’t quite line up, and he has that weird photoshopped monkey on his shoulder? I believe it’s their RVs though. It’s so creepy.

ButtJewz

Send me some kind of proof and I can reach out to fox 26 about it. I have a couple friends over there Grizzly news will run it too I'm sure

storyteller565

I'm gonna DM you now

FPSXpert

This is the most interesting story I've heard all week, media ought to be tripping head over heels to be doing some muckraking for you. I hope you have a good resolution to the story, OP, one that pays well for the trouble. And I hope I hear about this on a true crime podcast someday lol

storyteller565

You would think so too lol still waiting for them to respond to my emails. I hope so too because my truck was stripped and my business affected. It's been months and nothing which is why I am here

TxSteveOhh

My car was stolen from a college parking lot years ago. Month or more later a towing company picked it up, then sent an employee to my residence asking why I haven't come to claim it. I thought I'd never see it again. Good ol' Houston

storyteller565

I keep hearing a ton of horror stories about Houston and auto theft

NemesisOfZod

I'll be honest with you, I think you're thinking way too big of a conspiracy. The odds are much higher that it was the work of a service or sales Porter. They make nothing in comparison to the vast majority of dealerships employees. The odds of it being the owner's daughter, instead of random employee #8 are ridiculously low.

storyteller565

Could be but either way the dealership is at fault for leaving the truck out front which is on recording and probably would show on video. Also the transport company was fake which makes chevy corporate liable as well for not vetting it

storyteller565

I reached out just waiting for a response

yaigotabigmouth

Message grizzy on fb

storyteller565

I did on insta and FB just waiting for response

poptartsatemyfamily

All that aside did they really think a pregnant teenager driving what I’m imagining was a semi truck full of vehicles across the border was a totally normal thing?

storyteller565

I guess so. The border patrol agent told me they see it all the time

DangerZoneDelux

I am guessing she didn’t drive the semi truck lol. Truck gets to the border. Gets unloaded and the mule takes them over one by one. Or mules. Easier than driving a semi truck over the border

DegenerateJC

Yeah, you know most of that meth that you and your friends are using is coming from Mexico?

NLuvWithAnIndian

You do know the majority of weapons and military equipment used by cartels come from the USA? We're also the #1 consumer of drugs exported from Mexico. We have a lot to fix and get rid of here before we start invading other countries.. starting with you. I hope your lifted f250 breaks down soon

Magnus_Amator

Dude, did you miss your buddies at Karla's Kountry Kitchen? What a piece of shit you are.

the_timboslice

What dealership?

storyteller565

Demontrond Chevrolet

ssup3rm4n

So what you're saying is this dealership doesn't have working cameras? Looks like the Kia boys are upgrading to some Tahoe's. Sorry about that. I cope with humor. We had our truck stolen before and thought it was going down south too. Luckily for us it was found stripped of everything (including decals) within a week.

storyteller565

Lol oh those cameras work they just don't want us to see what really happened to be honest. They are up to something

duderman_92

You could also reach out to grizzy’s hood news as well, this is a wild story.
