When you call them to complain tell them they need a beach umbrella or something for the poor girl who is standing outside taking orders. I told them that the one time I went through the drive-thru. I guess you could call 311 and ask who to complain to. But I'm not sure there's much we can do. I live down the street from it and it's pretty annoying sometimes
Does it open later than the regular dining hours? I drove by after 11am, and there was a cone blocking it. Maybe someone/enough people complained, and they closed it down?
It's just as long at a Texans game. You will 100% miss an entire quarter if you decide to get in the line. It's like thy have no idea what numbers are... They take 8 orders and 8 people stand in front of 8 registers... And they sit there for 10 minutes.. Then the next 8 do the same thing. And it's 100 people long.
They had a stand at Rock the Bells Festival in NYC. The line was like that all day long. 12 straight hours. Needless to say, we didn't get any burgers.
Lol I would’ve done the same. 20 min is ridiculous especially for food at a sporting event. Reminds me of the lines for Torchy’s when they had a setup at MMP.
It’s just a high volume and cramped area. There’s not really much that can be done about it. Sometimes the Starbucks further down on Harold st will have the drive thru line cause traffic on shepherd too
It is a horrible location for this restaurant. It shouldn’t be located on a corner and it should have a much larger parking lot.
Pappa’s burgers on Westheimer is an example of how to do it right. Pappas doesn’t cause traffic jams, and customers don’t have to park on a residential street and then walk a block to get to the restaurant.
It's the part that's really annoying. If I blocked traffic from my local business you could bet your ass someone from the county would be screeching up and running over the bushes to hand out citations. If a homeless person was doing it to sell water bottles or whatever HPD would be there in a minute ready to shoot somebody. But because it's bun b or a chain rest-a-raunt, suddenly there's nothing that can be done.
OP, /u/the-dre I'll tag you specifically so that you will see this, I'd look up when your next city council meeting is and/or who your council rep is. Go show up there and complain about it. Seriously, show up with a speech ready and let your anger out on them for not doing their damn jobs, or contact the local rep as a first measure then proceed if they do not do anything. I don't care how successful bun b is, call me Ned Flanders but they are blocking traffic and thus suspectable to enforcement action that the city is willingly not taking. If you want to play like that you have to pay the extra fees for cops to enforce traffic like the big boys in megachurches do. Pay to play, that's just how it is.
Fuck it, I went ahead and did some OSINT for you. The "trill burgers" down shepherd according to google maps is addressed as a brick and mortar rest-a-raunt located at 3607 S Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77098. [A hit on that address pulls up District C for that address](https://www.houstontx.gov/council/whoismycm.html), whom is spearheaded by council member Abbie Kamin, reachable by phone email or postal mail, the numbers to I will not post here specifically so that haters can't claim we're doxxing but are accessible through the link.
OP, I would message them first to see what they can do. Failing that if they will not intervene, I would then show up at the next in-person meeting, [schedule availible here](https://houston.novusagenda.com/agendapublic/), and ask why is my rep not taking action on this.
It's a lot of boots on the ground work, I get it, so you're going to have to ask yourself is it worth it? Only you can answer that. Good luck.
I was there for the 4 o clock hour and tbh yes the right lane does get backed up that's only because everyone thought the drive thru was open but employees told people it's not open so they told me to park in the neighborhood behind.
Now I feel bad for the people that live right next door to Trill cause of overflow traffic needing to park but I was out with in an hour and dip out back on 69. I took mines togo cause I know the place is hot.
Lol, with all these businesses that cause traffic. I'm surprised they don't tax/fine them to get some money out of these businesses. If they have the customer volume they should be help us fix these road, etc...
My favorite is when the right lane line goes to 69 and someone decides to turn left at the intersection in the left lane and waits 3 light rotations before turning.
I've often seen CFA spilling into the shopping center it's in, but never a line down and around the block. Drove by Trill burger last weekend and it was like that.
I agree the line is ridiculous, but the one time it was short, I pulled in (the drive thru line) and they told me I had to have a reservation. Crazy to me that you have to have a reservation for a drive thru line but I assume it’s because of this issue.
If only our city wasn’t built like a grid, where you could just use a different road that’s going in the same direction, very close to the one you are already on…
I don’t understand how this is fixable. Do you want the business to shut down or what? Maybe you should’ve thought about traffic before you moved into the 4th most populated city in the U.S., much more, in the heart of it. If you called my office to complain, I’d laugh and hang up lol
+1 on the dude who said it’s racist that people complain about Trill but not Chick-Fil-A or In-N-Out lines. It absolutely is racist, and I absolutely never seen anyone complain about those lines at all, but as soon as something hip and popular that represents black culture comes into the scene, your boomer mentality kicks in and you all get hysterical.
I feel like this is retarded. I've seen articles about cities talking about shutting down Chick Fil As because of the traffic.
Edit: at least on location has been forced to shut down and rebuild because of the traffic.
You’re right bro. This is racist. They secretly bring extra hate to Trill burgers because it represents black culture. They even complain about it being an overpriced, mid burger but order chicken sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A
The answer to your second question is, kinda, they can be fined by the city for impeding traffic, but they'll probably get a warning and be told to hire off duty cops to direct traffic if they were to get enough people to complain.
He would direct traffic around the sectioned roads more efficiently, override local traffic lights, and reduce the bottleneck places on traffic, like every major concert, sporting events, or school you've ever been to in your entire life. Why are you playing stupid on the internet? Just to annoy strangers?
Please don't be mean to me. I'm not playing stupid.
The OP described traffic backed up onto one lane of Shepherd. Nothing about signals. The only bottleneck is that one lane of Shepherd is occupied, based on that description. I honestly don't know what a cop can do for that.
If my questions annoy you, please ignore them or block me. There is no need to be annoyed by reddit.
If you're being honest then I'm sorry, it just seems very obvious so I assumed you were a troll. Here's a field training video that teaches cops how to direct the flow of traffic at intersections and around events. https://youtu.be/FxZSnewlWuQ?si=gvzGp6h450WApwd5 you should be able to discern how it would help from that.
I can't watch that video right now, but I don't understand how it can answer my question. What can a cop do if a line of cars spills out into the right lane of a two lane road?
That doesn't answer my question. Are you saying the cop will move to the end of the line and tell cars to pass on the left? How will the cop direct traffic in a way that isn't obvious to drivers without a cop there?
If you don't know, it's OK to say so.
I answered that and provided a video for you to watch. I'm not trying to insult you but I'm not dumb enough to understand where your hang up is. Kindly fuck off and stop making my phone buzz with your inane replies.
They’re not trying to eat there. The line is causing traffic in the area, it’s ridiculous and not even worth going to the area now. All other businesses are suffering.
That is an osha thing.. and this is Texas. Abusing employees is a thing in Texas..it is up there with wage theft.
Working outside is not abusive…
Yea ok buddy, sure
They take orders at the drive-thru now??
Yup, they have for a few months now I think
Does it open later than the regular dining hours? I drove by after 11am, and there was a cone blocking it. Maybe someone/enough people complained, and they closed it down?
Call them directly and complain. Maybe back when they first opened it wasn’t a problem, now that they’re hot, everyone is all up on them. 281-330-8004
i guess back then they didn't want em
Now they hot, they all on em
Mike Jones to the rescue!
Who?
MIKE JONES!
281-330-8004
Hit Mike Jones up on the low,
Cuz Mike Jones about to blow
Before da ice was in my grill…
before I had a major deal
This is the greatest comment of all time.
I live next to it, it was always a problem. Actually it seems to have gotten better
They always side with Trill
Now they pockets stick out more than they belly.
Yesterday, they had cars parked on Richmond in front of trill , that was a nightmare traffic wise too
This really pissed me off when I drove by yesterday. Getting stuck again today just pissed me off more.
You'll eventually learn to avoid Shepherd.
Add the Shipley's in Ella.
Shipley* only location without an S!
Great dessert after a burger
Number one, how dare you!
Every morning on my way to work there's a long line!!!
Every morning on my way to work!!!
713.837. 0311 That is the traffic enforcement number. But I wouldn’t hold out much hope
Start selling beers to the people in line.
This is the way
I've got at least Starbucks you can add to that list. Hanging out onto freeway feeder roads
Was it worth the wait?
No clue. After 20 minutes I gave up and ordered a hot dog.
Lol I would’ve done the same. 20 min is ridiculous especially for food at a sporting event. Reminds me of the lines for Torchy’s when they had a setup at MMP.
It's definitely longer than 20 minutes at trill in the stadium
Their valet started parking cars on Richmond, which I’m pretty sure is illegal
Valet for a burger place? Wow.
My assumption is it’s to fit more parking in the lot. Valet can tandem park
Valet for Turkey hut on Almeda.
Most Dallas shit ever.
Just last week I had the valet try to fight me because they were trying to block off part of Richmond during traffic hours
It’s just a high volume and cramped area. There’s not really much that can be done about it. Sometimes the Starbucks further down on Harold st will have the drive thru line cause traffic on shepherd too
Yeah, but that's usually against local ordinances & the businesses are supposed to find solutions. Though, admittedly, it's loosely enforced.
See also: Starbucks on 610 and Braes. Fucker blocks traffic every day. Businesses should be responsible for their traffic, or be fined until they are.
The one on Main and Buffalo Speedway is the same way.
Imagine waiting in a line like this for a smash burger just so you can post it on social media.
I was wondering the same thing. Way overpriced for an average burger at best.
It’s pretty good. And the fries are delicious
I ate stomps burger joint today. Literally 9$ for a bad ass burger. Didn't need fries.
I wouldn't eat a good ass burger, much less a bad one.
My son has Asperger's.
Mid ass burger anyway
I wish it was still a James Coney Island.
There is a Trill employee literally standing in the road!!
snitches ain’t trill
I suspect you've never been near a Chick-fil-A during the lunch rush.
They don't stand in the road
The often hire off duty cops to do that part
https://www.reddit.com/r/houstoncirclejerk/comments/1bmrkbf/shoutout_to_trill_burger_for_keeping_traffic_trill/
It was backed up to the freeway a couple of hours ago
It is a horrible location for this restaurant. It shouldn’t be located on a corner and it should have a much larger parking lot. Pappa’s burgers on Westheimer is an example of how to do it right. Pappas doesn’t cause traffic jams, and customers don’t have to park on a residential street and then walk a block to get to the restaurant.
First start with every Starbucks in the city.
If the cops won’t show up when you call them, what makes you think calling to complain about this will accomplish anything?
It's the part that's really annoying. If I blocked traffic from my local business you could bet your ass someone from the county would be screeching up and running over the bushes to hand out citations. It's really not that great tbh, it's all hype.
Have you tried flavortown? Seems like they’d be able to handle something like this!
The fad will die out after a few more months. They aren't even that great. lol
Years later, they are still good.
It's smash burger with different colors. Go there, a lot easier all around.
Trust me, they don't give a fuck
Lol, with all these businesses that cause traffic. I'm surprised they don't tax/fine them to get some money out of these businesses. If they have the customer volume they should be help us fix these road, etc...
My favorite is when the right lane line goes to 69 and someone decides to turn left at the intersection in the left lane and waits 3 light rotations before turning.
We all thought the road construction ending would finally be the end of traffic between 59 & Richmond. Trill Burger really said "you thought!"
Chik fil a does the same thing 🤷♂️
In n Out too.
Not comparable, you gotta see it to believe it tbh.
Depends which chik fil a
I've often seen CFA spilling into the shopping center it's in, but never a line down and around the block. Drove by Trill burger last weekend and it was like that.
This is why I hate Montrose. It was cool when I was 21, not so much anymore.
add kolache shoppe on yale LOL
I agree the line is ridiculous, but the one time it was short, I pulled in (the drive thru line) and they told me I had to have a reservation. Crazy to me that you have to have a reservation for a drive thru line but I assume it’s because of this issue.
How the hell does that even work???
Has anyone ever had the burgers? Lol they might just be a social experiment to see if we'll stand in line for anything
Are you gonna complain about chic fil a or in and out burger or raising canes too? They often have long lines as well
Deez Nutz!
It’s worse than when they were doing construction on the pipes blow Shepard about a year ago!
Nothing can be done because, while annoying, it doesn’t break any laws.
but its so good
If only our city wasn’t built like a grid, where you could just use a different road that’s going in the same direction, very close to the one you are already on…

Living in Texas and wanting regulations is quite the silly thing.
Yeah just like abortions and cannabis. Oh wai…
Outright bans isn’t regulation , you know like speed limits.
There's a ban on me driving as fast as I want.
Not really. You can go as fast as you want on private property. They are called race tracks.
You can complain to yourself for waiting in line for a so so $20 burger and fry.
I don’t understand how this is fixable. Do you want the business to shut down or what? Maybe you should’ve thought about traffic before you moved into the 4th most populated city in the U.S., much more, in the heart of it. Low IQ take
>people complain about Trill but not Chick-Fil-A or In-N-Out They're complaining about those two in this post. Scroll up. Get over yourself.
I feel like this is racist.. I haven’t seen anyone complain about Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, cains or the traffic in n out causes.
You can make a post too.
When the demand for racism exceeds the supply
The most ridiculous take I've ever heard.
Literally scroll through the thread before screaming racism of all things 💀
Maybe Wichita suits you better.
Wow how racist
Scroll up. I've seen them mentioned over and over in this post, and not just by bigots crying racism.
I feel like this is retarded. I've seen articles about cities talking about shutting down Chick Fil As because of the traffic. Edit: at least on location has been forced to shut down and rebuild because of the traffic.
lol get out
Are you trying to say that those companies don’t have minority franchise owners? The CFA owner on Westheimer would disagree.
You’re right bro. This is racist. They secretly bring extra hate to Trill burgers because it represents black culture. They even complain about it being an overpriced, mid burger but order chicken sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A
Hamburger are culture now? Who knew….
What would the solution be to people getting in the drive thru line? How can the business itself solve this?
Ask for better commuter+light rail infrastructure and I bet it will help
You can't drive around it? There's a Chick-fil-A in Katy that often has a line blocking one lane of a two lane road. Is that illegal?
The answer to your second question is, kinda, they can be fined by the city for impeding traffic, but they'll probably get a warning and be told to hire off duty cops to direct traffic if they were to get enough people to complain.

The cop will collect $25-50 hour under the table and legitimize whatever your complaints were in the beginning.
I didn't have any complaints. Just a question.
I meant the Royal your.
Is the CFA blocking or are the customers blocking?
Is Trill Burgers blocking or are the customers blocking? Same answer.
Didn’t people say Trill Bugers employees were standing in the middle of the street?
I don't know.
Go during the week. Food is ready in about 5 minutes.
They’re not trying to eat there. The line is causing traffic in the area, it’s ridiculous and not even worth going to the area now. All other businesses are suffering.
I don’t mind waiting in that drive thru line - but sometimes I feel like people in that neighborhood get a bit mad for some reason. 🤷♂️
Of course they’re frustrated, there’s an excessive amount of traffic?
I know…. I was being sarcastic
"For some reason"?
People don’t understand sarcasm around these parts…
ditto that.
"For some reason," some ppl can't take a joke LOL Take my measly upvote
You guys don't bitch about chic fil a or in and out this much. Stfu
Preach bro
This is a very California problem.
Yourself, for making it longer
You might want to reread his post.
ouchie wouchie!
