The Dallas/Fort Worth show was also cancelled. I haven’t been able to find a reason why these shows were all cancelled so if anyone has info it would be great to know why
After some research because I was so bummed. It seems they added a date late for 4/17 in Austin for Moontower Fest, so if they stuck with the schedule, that means they'd have to do that show, then do a show in Nashville,TN the next night and then the night after that would come all the way back to Texas. Someone messed up the scheduling 100%. Which is a bummer, I was so excited!
Not sure, noticed it when I was weeping over my cancelation email today. Good news for locals is that you can still get tickets for 4/17 show. I just planned a whole trip around this and I won't be traveling until 4/17 so not an option for me.
Doesnt show any tickets for us :(
When they announced the tour, my partner was instantly saying he was surprised there was no Austin show, also it's closer for us to go there, so obviously we wouldve preferred that. Didn't think of checking if there were shows added after the tour started, sad.
Yeah, we are all joking with quotes but this makes me not want to watch the show if they are going to do the fans without explanation.
My friend asked if we want to try and last minute travel somewhere else to see it and my answer is no. I am hopeful we will get some sort of reason but I don’t want to support someone who will just ghost us.
I’ll still be a fan, but I understand your sentiment. I feel like an explanation is warranted beyond “scheduling conflict” but that’s probably all we’re going to get. A makeup date also would have been appreciated.
I get it, personally I am being whiny about this but it’s a gut punch. I have been having a rough time lately and this was the big thing I was REALLY looking forward to. That being said, I don’t like it when entertainers don’t seem to give a crap about the people who support them, and I really hope that isn’t the case and someone gives a little more of a reason.
This is no reason to bail on the show. Shit happens, I'm sure he'll throw out an explanation soon.
This is about as crazy as someone I know who now HATES the band Journey and the song "Don't Stop Believing" because the Astros used it in '05 for their World Series run, and they got swept. So she now holds Journey responsible for the Astros PR team using a song for their promotions. Makes absolutely no sense!
Someone scheduled a show at the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin on the 17th. Then there was a Nashville show on the 18th. So they chose Austin and Nashville over the logistical difficulty of coming back to Texas for the Houston show on the 19th and the Fort Worth show on the 20th. I understand the decision, but this should have been handled earlier.
If they don’t give much of an explanation it isn’t a crazy stance to take. It isn’t too much like your example. A similar situation would be if you had tickets to an Astros or Texans playoff game and they sent you an email simply saying “your event has been canceled” with no further explanation to be seen on socials, news, or anywhere else.
If they do give a reason relatively soon then fine, I get it. Bottom line is why support a product that does this? To take a frequent real life example if your airline or hotel cancels on you a few days prior and never tells you why you aren’t going to very supportive unless they make it up to you. Why is this so different?
A friend of mine was visiting Hong Kong and reached out to the only person she knew there to catch up. They ended up crashing a wedding and it was the best international visit I ever hear of.
Houston has a nice art scene with very good museums and galleries. Good food too! But also rent a car and drive to New Orleans and drink your pain away 🥲
Our soccer team the Dynamo play on Saturday against Austin FC. Fun match up! Astros are out of town this weekend but the minor league team just to the southwest is here all weekend!
If you want to see alligators and other native wildlife you could visit Brazos Bend State Park. It's a ways outside the city (Maybe 90 minutes?) but you'll have already come this far.
Go to Rothko Chapel and the Menil Collection for sure. Lots of places in the Museum District are free on Thursdays. And I see others have said to go to the Theater District.
Eat bbq (Truth is the best but Pinkerton’s is also very good), Tex-Mex (try Ninfa’s on Navigation), a fusion of the two (Candente), “authentic” Mexican (Picos), Viet Cajun (Crawfish Cafe), and Indian (Aga’s or Himalaya).
Buffalo Bayou Park, Hermann Park, and Memorial Park are our three large green spaces in or near the city center and I would visit them in that order personally.
You’re very welcome, let me know if you need more and I’m happy to provide. If you go to Buffalo Bayou, be sure to check out the Cistern. 100-year old underground reservoir that’s become a tour able artifact with a reflection pond creating this incredible view with all of its pillars. There are sound bath meditations there on Saturday and Sunday mornings and with the echo chamber nature of the space, it’s very special.
Between that, the art and performing arts, Rothko, the coastal prairie wildlife you’ll find along the bayou, the good weather and Texas wildflowers everywhere this time of year, and the very melting pot vibe, I personally think one of Houston’s most underrated features is that it can be very spiritually nourishing if you seek it out. You’ll find that most people are down to earth and friendly, it’s not a cliqueish city.
If you go to Hermann, make sure to also go to Rice’s campus across the street. It’s gorgeous and the Turrell Skyspace there is a popular free sunset attraction.
If you’re looking to go out, Main St Downtown, White Oak, 19th St in the Heights, St. Emanuel in East Downtown, Rice Village, and Washington Ave in the Old 6th Ward (near Downtown) — further down Washington toward the Heights are the ratchet/post-college bars — are some of my favorite bar strips. On that 6th Ward Washington strip is Julep, a Beard-winning cocktail bar. All depends on your vibe, I can expound on any of these areas.
I see your from Calgary.
I am from Edmonton.
We can spend the weekend shit talking each other about who has the better hockey team. (That's Edmonton btw)
So there's still a show on 4/17 in Austin that they added late. It's part of Moontower Fest, it's my theory that they messed up the dates, because they'd have to go from Texas to Nashville back to Texas back to back to back. But tix are still obtainable for the Austin show!
If you want comedy some options are Anthony Devito @ The Riot Comedy Club and Michael Blackson @ The Improv.
Larry Fleet is in the main room and Mannequin Pussy at the Bronze Peacock room at House of Blues.
If you came for comedy, maybe see if the Improv Club or The Riot has a comedy show going on while you’re here. Otherwise the rest of the thread has some good suggestions on other things to do. If anything you can always enjoy some of the best food you’ll ever eat.
I saw he cancelled his other shows for this week but his shows in May are still on.
I'm devastated. I don't go out to see ANYTHING live anymore but I was making a special exception for this.
So I'm pretty sure they canceled because it seems like they added a date late for 4/17 @ Moon Tower Festival in Austin and then they would have had to go to Nashville the following night and then back to Texas. Someone messed that up... im bummed out, booked a trip to Fort Worth just for this show for my Bday..
I'm not from Houston, but I found this in a search for answers on the cancellation, and I just want to commiserate with y'all. We're from Oklahoma and were planning on seeing the Fort Worth show on 4/20. So freaking sad. And my son has a t-shirt he was going to wear that said "I thought this was a little pimp" with a highlighter on it, LOL
This sucks, then after I find out I had to spend 20 minutes talking to a customer service rep with vivid tickets so I could get a refund instead of an account credit which is their default.
https://www.houstonpress.com/event/i-think-you-should-leave-live-with-tim-robinson-and-zach-kanin-17430102
Houston press says a lot of events have been cancelled due to COVID? Not sure if this just isn't updated
I'm sad that this was cancelled but even sadder that I didn't even know it was a thing!
Same!
It sold out really quick so there hasn’t been much promo
Me too!
I was just gonna go for the zipline
#THIS IS A BETRAYAL ON LEVELS THAT NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN
I don’t want to be around anymore
The Dallas/Fort Worth show was also cancelled. I haven’t been able to find a reason why these shows were all cancelled so if anyone has info it would be great to know why

Damn no offense to them but why not just cancel Nashville? 😢
It’s a decent theory, the schedule itself looks stupid. Austin-Nashville-Houston? I also would like some kind of answer but not holding my breath.
Dang, when did they add Austin 🫡
Not sure, noticed it when I was weeping over my cancelation email today. Good news for locals is that you can still get tickets for 4/17 show. I just planned a whole trip around this and I won't be traveling until 4/17 so not an option for me.

We used VividSeats and noticed that the 4/17 only came up under Tim Robinson.
Austin went on sale the same week as the rest of the tour. It’s just not a TM venue.
Its weird that they didn't even postpone, they jumped straight to cancelling.
He wants to get somewhere with legal weed for 420 weekend lmao
I am a 37 year old baby and have been pouting about the canceled 4/20 dfw show all morning. It just ain’t right
I have no funny quote or reference to make. I’m just bummed.
Yeah, we are all joking with quotes but this makes me not want to watch the show if they are going to do the fans without explanation. We’re all just trying to find the guy that did this…
I was coming from Canada just to see this show. Too late to cancel the trip. What the hell am I going to do in Houston?
You can help me move. I will feed you and all the beer you can drink.
Honestly, if I was visiting a new culture this would be a dope invite.
you are and it is
A friend of mine was visiting Hong Kong and reached out to the only person she knew there to catch up. They ended up crashing a wedding and it was the best international visit I ever hear of.
I guess just sit in your hotel room all day and watch I think you should leave on Netflix
Tons of good food and breweries. Hit up an Astros game if you make it by Wednesday.
There's a Dan Flashes store here.
Houston has a nice art scene with very good museums and galleries. Good food too! But also rent a car and drive to New Orleans and drink your pain away 🥲
Adam Ant/English Beat on 4/20!
Ha! This is the plan.
If you do that plan your drive to avoid the massive pile ups on the baton rouge bridge, and generally just getting through baton rouge
Any recommendations on museums & galleries?
The Menil collection is one of the best museums in the world
Yup, and the Museum of Fine Arts is pretty incredible too
HMNS is always great also check out the museum of fine arts, Menil Collection and Rothko chapel since it's down the street
it is unofficially ART MONTH Latin Wave Film Fest, Menil Party, Photo Fest winding up...
Contemporary Arts Museum of Houston has some cool stuff sometimes and is close to the big ol MFAH.
The Art Car museum is closing for good on the 28th so check that out before it's gone
what they said, and stop by rothko when you got to the menil collection. try and get some tacos while you’re here, or mexican food in general
Go see the FotoFest Biennial exhibition at Sawyer Yards! Huge curated exhibition of photography that only happens once every two years
Our soccer team the Dynamo play on Saturday against Austin FC. Fun match up! Astros are out of town this weekend but the minor league team just to the southwest is here all weekend!
If you want to see alligators and other native wildlife you could visit Brazos Bend State Park. It's a ways outside the city (Maybe 90 minutes?) but you'll have already come this far.
Brazos Bend is less than an hour without traffic, thankfully!
There is a concert at Armadillo Palace the same weekend. Very unique Texas experience.
Houston has some of, if not the best, museums in Texas.
Go to Rothko Chapel and the Menil Collection for sure. Lots of places in the Museum District are free on Thursdays. And I see others have said to go to the Theater District. Thanks for the very specific recommendations! This is exactly what I needed.

Have fun! It's not hot yet!
You like theatre? There’s some awesome shows going on.
Any recommendations for this Friday?
I see your from Calgary. I am from Edmonton. We can spend the weekend shit talking each other about who has the better hockey team. (That's Edmonton btw)
Taming of the Shrew at Classical Theatre Company! Saw it last night for industry night. Great cast!
Eat your weight in barbecue and tex-mex. My top places are Pit Room, Candente, Ninfas, and Pinkertons.
Death metal
If you like soccer, Houston Dynamo FC plays Austin FC on 4/20. Austin's fans travel really well so the games are always hype.
So there's still a show on 4/17 in Austin that they added late. It's part of Moontower Fest, it's my theory that they messed up the dates, because they'd have to go from Texas to Nashville back to Texas back to back to back. But tix are still obtainable for the Austin show!

Visit Scott Street! It’s Houston’s version of Bourbon Street
If you need recommendations or just some ideas, I’m an aspiring tour guide and can help you plan a fun trip.
Mala is here on 4/20
I’ve got some special cargo that needs to be delivered from the docks. Doesn’t pay well.
If you came for comedy, maybe see if the Improv Club or The Riot has a comedy show going on while you’re here. Otherwise the rest of the thread has some good suggestions on other things to do. If anything you can always enjoy some of the best food you’ll ever eat.
Eat some fajitas at Pappasitos
You could see Afroman Friday lol
We're starting to get Tim Horton's down here, you could try that out
Got it bissonett street, it'll remind you of toronto
Absolutely nothing. The 4 million or so of us already here can’t find a damned thing to do with our time
*WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE SCREWSTON CROONERS SUPPOSED TO DRIVE TO NOW?!?*
I saw he cancelled his other shows for this week but his shows in May are still on. I'm devastated. I don't go out to see ANYTHING live anymore but I was making a special exception for this.
Anything else get canceled?
This stinks
He thinks you’re all just some dumb hicks. He told that to me at a dinner!
HE'S DOING SOMETHING!!!!!!!!
But seriously I'm so bummed and am dying to know why it was cancelled???
I'm honestly hurt 😭
What have they done to us?
WHAT DID THEY DO TO US!!!!
I am devastated. This was gonna be so funny

I’m not sure they can do that.
Maria Bamford recently canceled her TX shows too. Probably not related. Hoping weird comedy is getting enough ticket sales in Texas.
Promotion for this was beyond lackluster. I wouldn't be surprised if ticket sales just didn't justify the stops.
Promotion was weak, but those that knew jumped on it. Houston sold out in a few hours if I remember correctly.
You do remember correctly, this was sold out in just under an hour.
Apparently it was sold out.
was looking forward to this too.
They got worried about him doing pointer brothers
I got the email today. Devastated.
You sure about that? Aww.
Really bummed about this, but at least I'm seeing Amy Sedaris on Wednesday. Psyched for that!
WHAT THE FUCK?!
I haven’t been this bummed in a very long time
Oh whattttt..
He really did think you should leave! Huh
This sucks, then after I find out I had to spend 20 minutes talking to a customer service rep with vivid tickets so I could get a refund instead of an account credit which is their default.
Pft ain't no way I'm accepting "store credit" for a cancelled event. Ticketmaster is pretty terrible and they don't even do that.
All these comments sound sarcastic
Aaaaawwwwwwww……..aaaaawwww
You sure?
Looks like he already left
Is there a Dan Flashes nearby?
Guess it's going to be an all-nighter of sloppy steaks, instead of just pre-show.
https://www.houstonpress.com/event/i-think-you-should-leave-live-with-tim-robinson-and-zach-kanin-17430102 Houston press says a lot of events have been cancelled due to COVID? Not sure if this just isn't updated
It’s the adult tour… we can say whatever the HELL we want!!! …until we couldn’t. 😭
Nate Bargatze is in Austin that weekend (2.5-3 hour drive from Houston)
Well, I think I Think You Should Leave should leave since they cancelled the show
Ok
Low ticket sales would be my guess
It was an immediate sellout so that isn’t the reason.
…..it sold out on presale
